When I asked Toledo Zoo how it was, it told me it was fine.
I am VERY picky about zoos and their treatment towards their animals. The Toledo Zoo is usually rated the number one in the country. There are many other zoos in Ohio that are large also, but I have done research and will not visit them nor Detroit zoo. I live in Toledo, and come here frequently every year. I knew one of the vets, which was one of my exotic pet vets I used (Ferret). This zoo as a whole has good habit environments, improving and enlarging all the time, a large variety of species including animals hard to see example Koala, Tasmanian Devil. Animals are taken care of here extremely well compared to all other zoos. I would highly suggest it!
It is a diamond in the rough for Toledo Ohio wonderful Zoo. It is worth purchasing a membership. If you live in Lucas County Mondays are free admission. They have the amphitheater there where they have music, well known bands, ECT. They have lights before Christmas which is just beautiful to see. They added some new features to the zoo. All I can say you have to go visit it.
It is world renowned. Many of the buildings are WPA works from the 1930's depression. Magnificent architecture.
