Schools go on field trips there all the time and pack lunches.
We brought in food no problem. Signs at the carnivore cafe say that you can only eat there if you purchase food but we had no trouble finding a shady picnic bench to eat our packed lunch.
They have a picnic area outside of the zoo by parking lot but not inside. They do have tables but you have to purchase eat,s inside the gates.And it is pricey $ 3.00 for a bottle of water in a Coke machine a soda $ 3.50 they have water fountains but ??food is pricey too 4 microwave plain hotdogs & 3 small drinks $ 22.00

Yes tgere are picnic areas but if you leave anything for too long they will go to the lost and found
