Wish Google would make zero stars an option. This place needs to be closed down if it’s not going to allow animals to be adopted out. I thought that was the soul purpose of Animal Humane Societies. I will pray for the animals involved and hope karma comes for those keeping them there. Shows how much they care about animals, would never recommend anyone use them for veterinarian services.
alex smith
the humane society of new york is corrupt and needs to give the animas to shelters where they can be adopted
Emma D
Why are animals being kept from The public in cages for over 28 months with no end in sight. The Humane Society of needs to Fix this we want answers
Abigail O
Disgusted to hear that the Humane Society of New York i where I have visited and brought my furr baby has been keeping the building closed to the public, why are the adoption center closed to the public. These animals have now been stuck in cages for over 28 months with no end in sight. The Humane Society of New York is not an animal shelter; it's an animal warehouse. I hope They do the right thing and provide these animals loving homes!!!

Yes. Most vaccines are about $11. Neutering ranges between $85 and $180. The price is determined by the size of the dog.
Yes they website says they don’t however if you walk in they will not turn you away they will help you we walked in and they helped us the whole time.
Call them up ☺ I bet they would love to have you as a volunteer
Yes, they do
Sorry you have to do this. It depends on how much your dog weights.
No, if you need emergency care you can go to the AMC which is open 24/7.
Yes, they are complete blood work before spaying. It is depend on your pet's age. VETERINARIAN will tell you what it need to be done. Have you call them to gather information.
To make the appointment costs $40 over the phone. It's non-refundable. The blood work is additional and it's cheaper than everywhere else but I don't know the price because it depends on the blood work in question.
If the dog is in pain and you walk in there is a good possibility they will take you. They don't like to see pets in pain. The initial is $40.00 and they apply that to the balance. If you cant pay the balance they will work with you on creating a payment plan.
I can give you the price of each shot but,I cannot write what each shot is for its too long. Distemper-15 Rabies-15 Leptospirosis-15 Lyme-25 Kennel-10 Plus 40 for initial visit MUST pay in advance Stool test-30 Heartworm test-31 Hope this helps. Also these prices are from my last visit on 10/30/2018 from their brochure.
When you call, once the recording starts press #3 and then press #0. This will take you to the appointment desk. You will be asked to pay $40 on your credit card on the phone. After this the Vet will need to examine your pet before you will know the other costs. They are less costly than other vet services. Usually there is a wait to speak with someone on the phone. To keep their costs down they run with a lean staff.
Stay on the phone and they give instructions on how to make an appointment in the recorded message.

I am not sure you would have to ask
Yes? The Humane society do dental work for dogs and all other animals medical care
Yes but I had to go in person to make the reservation since I had a hard time booking it over the phone
May i ask why u need my email address?
Yes you can. Hopefully someone will adopt the fur baby.
now's about the right time. i had my puppy done when she got her period. just to make. sure she's healthy. dont be alarmed when she. does get her period. it lasts for 2 weeks, so after her period ends. she should get neutered.
You have to pre pay $40 that's non refundable if u don't keep your appointment. & then give pay the balance..
No unfortunately. You can work out the payments with the financial advisor they can work something out with you to help you help your financial situation.
Dental work is $460.00 including dental exam.. You would have to call to make a appointment than they can tell you how much it would cost you for the amputation.. Good luck.. GOD BLESS
I believe they do
I believe they do.. Sorry to hear thst you're losing a love one.. If they don't ASPCA do
Can I bring my 6 mth old kitten for no cost neuter?
I would go to A.C.C. I got my dog there. Animal Control Center. You can look online, reserve a visit and it is less expensive. Plus you a free checkup and discounts for grooming. I wrnt to Humane Society for shots. The Vet let my dog go while he was on top of exam table, he leaped off out of nervousness and now I have to spend 300 plus dollars on xrays and who knows how much more to see whats wrong with his leg...
I think it goes from 30 or 40 but if you get some kind of HRA assistance its creaper thet will ask yoy whwn you call for appt or if yoy near by go in person
I saw two rescue rabbits at Petco Union square on Sunday a week and a half ago.
$100 should be plenty. The visit is $40. They charge much, much less than anyone else, and that goes for prescriptions, too. If you have financial problems, I think maybe they might work with you.
Please first call the Humane Society on 59st between 2nd and first ave tell them you need an appointment and why its an emergency. There very inexpensive they will go by your income if times are hard and both u and ur cat willbe so happy you called
Call the humane society. Some people gift bunnies and Chicks for Easter without thinking through all of work required.
There are assistance programs which pay for pet health care for folks who receive monetary assistance such as medicare or medicaid.
I waited to make an appt for almost an hour. Gave up. No excuse or justification for this. None.
I paid under 200 for my dog so I would think its about the same for cats. I do recommend doctors there are excellent
What kind of dog
Typical fee for spaying a cat is 95.00 if you don't have anything else done. Your cat will need proof of vaccination and rabies. If your cat is not fully vaccinated you will incur additional fees. I am not an employee of Human Society just a long time client for decades who recently had my cat spayed 3 weeks ago July 2022.
No you have to find a specialist
You have to contact them, and they will give you all your payment options. I don't think they turn anyone away, however it is a waiting list. It's worth it, they are super kind, patient and professional. That's always been my experience.
Ask to speak to Joe and change the last digit on the number listed to a 2 as that is his number.
You have to enter 59th St from 2nd Ave or further west. So you can go up 1st to 61st St, turn left, turn left on 2nd Ave, then turn left to 59th.
My dog got neutered and we don't have Medicare. I suggest u call them and get more accurate information according to your situation. I think they would accommodate you. If u don't get help in box me and I will share what my wife did.
Yes they do
They are the best call them they help you to keep your Animals and are low cost and do not try to take what little you have like a lot of these Veterinary offices do. ACPCA does not help they over charge and will not treat if you can't pay all the money they want Sad for our beloved animals
Please call them they are the Best. Sandra is an amazing person and helps you to the fullest and they care and show so much love for your animals
Please call them sandra is amazing and they are so caring.and they are reasonable in prices
You'd have to drop the dog off. The vet will call you to ask a few questions prior to beginning the exam/ appointment. They are fairly quick. Dress warm, wait in your car or pop into a nearby store to wait warmly.
They do. You must call and make an appointment, they charge $50 in advance but it goes towards the services. They are the most economic place you'll find. The whole price depends on your dog.
You must call for an appointment and pay $50 in advance.
You have to follow the instructions for and emergency situation on their website. When you contact them let them know it's urgent. You also have to pay for the visit in advance and follow the COVID-19 instructions they have in place.
Yes,if you're on snap, social security and public assistance
About $40.00 plus treatment for the dog
It is a chain of movie theaters, cinema. They are not open 24/7 they are not for emergencies to my knowledge.
Yes they do
I have no idea, I am sorry. I think that is better if you contact them by phone
It's not costly at all. You can call and ask and they'll give you instructions on how to book the appointment. When I inquired for a friend in June, the next availability was for December, so I strongly suggest that you contact them soon. They will take the payment as a pre payment to secure the appointment.
yes if you meet the criteria they'll let you pay at a reduced price
Yes.
I think they are still taking in dogs.. but contact them to make sure as so much has changed during the pandemic.
No, they will refer you to Animal Medical Center
No, they don't. They will refer you to Animal Medical Center at 510 E 62nd Street.
Call The Humane Society. They can help.
No they call it a donation
I'm so sorry to hear,You can go to the mobile vet
It various and its always best to call them directly and ask. Every case is different
Humane Society will put cat in Kitty Heaven for a fee.
You have to text 929-357-4499 to make an appt
also u must make an appointment in advance and leave a message. they do get back to you!
They won't see you without an appointment due to covid, but if you have proof of it/write them an e-mail they'll likely cover the costs.
I am not sure you would have to call them
Yes, appointments are still happening. They aren't taking calls but they have designated mobile lines where someone usually provides a text response within 24 hours. I texted my dogs name and reason for my visit to 9293574499 and his appointment was a week later.
I don't think so, but try...they are amazing
I am not sure but I took my puppy there on Sunday and they referred me to the Animal Hospital on 62nd Street and that place was really expensive. Try a video conference with them first. You have to have an appointment.
Yes
I don't know how long a dog needs all their necessary hormones, for growth, before they get fixed. The office will tell you.
I believe u can have her spayed but u would have to schedule it around 2 weeks prior to her menstruation .I had to do it that way with my pet too.
Yes u MUST MAKE APPOINTMENT FIRST NO WALK INS they are the best
Payment is required before your visit and there is no refund policy for missed appointments. Bring your pets medical documents. The waiting time for an appointment is about 3 weeks. Hope this helps.
Sorry. No idea
Humane Society does offer Ultrasound for dogs and cat. As far as MRI not really sure. The charge for Ultrasound for my cat was about $150 for his stomach. Definitely much cheaper than Veterinary Hospitals. Appts do take long time to get about 3 weeks.
Call them and ask them what they can do
40$ I believe for the appointment
That I'm not sure for shots. But I do know dental work is way expensive I can't even. Afford it
They work with you
Yes
You better call and Ask,because everything depends on the financial situation for a person receiving Medicaid Benefits Is Free
Hi...I don't know... It may be as simple as a donation... But definitely less than a private vet. I adopted my dog there... And use their clinic... The best bunch of people and doctors...I wouldn't go anywhere else!
I would definitely call
Its $40 no matter what to see a vet. However you're in good hands. No need to worry.
Not sure, recommend you call them
I believe they do but I don't remember how much
No
Call them and ask
They take walk in but they charge more without appointment just call tell them whats goin on they will work with u you there i luv them and hope all is well
$40 for office visit that will get deducted after whatever issues are addressed. For my dog, Total Body Function Panel is $85. Rabies $15. Heartworm 4DX in-House $31 this was on 10.16.19
Definitely call again. It takes them awhile to answer because they are so busy. But it's worth it. They are reasonably priced, helpful and knowledgeable.
You can wait outside after you check in and they will let you know when the doctor is ready for you. But it's important for your dog that you are calm. It seems you are already nervous and your dog will feed off of your energy. Try to be calm and it will help him.
I believe they do... they are most likely closed today and tomorrow...
Sorry to hear about your situation...but I'd call n check bc there is often a long wait. I was waiting for our appointment once and a woman came in to have this done for her small dog. We all felt terrible watching her spend her last few moments w her dog in the small waiting room. At the very least just be prepared to wait. All the best.
You can walk in and wait or make an appointment which would be better.
Yes but they do it thst morning and it takes minutes for results. They were fantastic!
Yes..same process. Call to make initial appointment, then they'll ask you to call for follow up appointment to assess teeth and then a third visit for actual procedure. Good luck!!
If you call 4842 instead of 4840 for the last 4 digits of their phone number, usually a live person answers
Bring kitty in and have it evaluated. It is not too expensive. Uncontrolible diarrea can be a serious problem.
Are u asking what to keep
Yes they do.and the wait list for any dental work is from 6 to 9 months wait.and blood work one week before any dental work.
Don't work for Humane Society however the price is $85 and Office has easy access to public transportation.
Take your dog to the Animal Protection Society and they will help you with vaccines and it is a reasonable price, it is at 306 East 59th Street second aveneida (Humane Society)
THE HUMANE SOCIETY ON 59TH STREET IS THE BEST CARE FOR YOUR ANIMAL. IT WAS MY FIRST TIME WE WERE SENT BY DEBBIE FROM SAVE KITTIE FOUNDATION DUE TO MY OREO KITTY 😿 GETTING SICK AND THEY TOOK SUCH GREAT CARE AND MADE AN EFFORT TO. SAVE HIM WITH CONTINUED CARE BEFORE HIS PASSING AND I AM GREATFUL FOR ALL THEY DID FOR MY OREO. THE DIRECTOR, SUPERVISORS AND DOCTOR'S ARE THE BEST. ME AND MY FAMILY THANK YOU. AIDA AND CECILIA CRUZ.
I have found Humane Society çheaper than a regular Vet.
Maritza is correct. If you need to see the vet sooner than their usual wait it is sometimes possible to either squeeze you in or take a cancelled appointment. This costs $55. Tests or other procedures done are additional fees. They are still significantly less than other vets and animal hospitals in the area.
I really don't know.you will have to call them and ask them.
Just show you are receiving public assistance and they will work out a payment plan. Also, Animal Control is actually cheaper
Humane society extracts teeth. They charge $430 extraction and anesthesia no matter how many teeth that needed to be extracted. Also $30 for exam total $460
Yes they will work with you. They worked with me when i was low or had no money. God work in mysterious ways.
you have to call them first to make it at pointment and it's usually backed up for a couple of weeks maybe a month or two but it's about $430 plus $35 for the examination because they do use anesthesia on All cleaning I trusted the service they've professionalism I took my dog there and March and he had 12 teeth removed and extended his life ..
You should call the Humane Society as soon as possible
I dont know the actual costs for rabbits. What I do know is cost of taking care of my cat is a fraction of a private vet.
It is best to call them for a quote. They may even be able to work with you.
Less than 50
They accept donations, but if it's used & not cleanable, perhaps not. Plastic carriers are easily cleanable. The problem with anything not cleanable is possible exposure to the other animals
Best you bring in your dog for examination. Come in as an emergency, no appt necessary for emergency. It can be fungus, ringworm or numerous other things.. Good Luck
They can treat your pet, make sure to call and make a appointment. They normally don't take walks in, you don't want to make a trip and end up turned away. You really need to do it soon. Cost depends on what may be necessary to diagnose his issue. Easily be $500 to a $1000. But I would say to take out some Care credit if you can't pay up ahead and it will allow you to pay little by little like a credit card. It may not be something you want but it's better then just putting a animal down or letting them died painfully.
You really need to get him to a vet immediately. You won't be able to treat your pet other wise. Unfortunately it is very difficult to know what is wrong with you pet with out professional help. Cuold be swelling, cancer or a number of other things. I hope it turns out to be nothing.
Kennel cough if its been around other dogs and you do not vaccinate
The Humane Socierty wii refer you the AMC for those procedures. They do regular xrays
Call the Humane Society they would help you you can Google the telephone number they're located at 306 East 59th Street New York New York
Call them first.
They spay they take in pets accept for wild animals or rabbits. As far as grooming you can go to a local pet shop that does the grooming Migdailia. Sorry unfortunately they don't. You can call them first thing in the morning after they first open up to ask that same question.
And they open 7 days a week
Sorry for your troubles. They will check her out on a sliding scale for payment. They DO NOT groom there
You would have to call to find out. They are very reasonable.
All information (990 tax return) is publicly available for non-profit organizations on IRS website or guidestar website
You will have to call them but they are so much less expensive than a regular vet.. I adore them...
Yes they do need a cone. The humane society provides you with the cone amd some pain meds.
From my experience with a dog it's 340 for everything. No matter how severe. That includes appointments, blood work, anesthesia and surgery.
They would need to look at your specific animal to tell you. Like if he just needs a cleaning that's a different price than if he needs 10 extractions as well. But to my understanding they are more affordable than most vets with this procedure as well. Good luck
Your best bet is to take your furry friend to the vet. It better to be safe than sorry.
Yes they can take him but call first
Do you have any shihtzu for adoptions between one and 2??
40.00 each exam. 12-15.00 per shot... DO NOT get the package of shots, unless pets have had 0 shots SINCE birth.. Only get minimum shots needed. 40.00 for visit MUST be paid Upfront. Be ready to wait on phone for appt. (About a 1/2 hr)
Doesnt sound familiar... Tried calling?
Sounds like stomach bile, was there any thing in the vomit ? How old is the dog?
My cat's love that food let me know and l will pick it up
Bring cats to A.C.C. Animal Control Center. They will take them off your hands.... Immediately
I'd say generally not. As you can imagine they are already overwhelmed.
This place is amazing but not free, what I do is let them give me a diagnosis and total price then I ask them if I could pay some now and charge any of my cards every month, they are really amazing people and love animals, Im sure they will help you .... just ask like you don't know .......ok
Take her to any vet hospital and explain what has been going on with her. They are there to help.
1st research MINIMUM shots Needed..... Do not get the cocktail which is like 6 shots in 1.... The wait list is long about 2 weeks, getting appointment on phone takes 2 hrs of waiting. You MUST pay upfront, so find out on 2hr wait phone call about insurance.
You need too ask them don't know to much about it but you can volunteer at any animal shelter
In general their prices are very reasonable.
Bath your pet with flea and tick shampoo then buy the drops that you apply on the back of the animals (there are many brands I use Hartz ) it's way better than flea coarse which only prevent the bugs from getting into the ears. The drops protect your pets entire body
Dont think so, and you probably aren't allowed to keep a skunk as a pet anyway
I am sorry, seems like Labs, they may be prone to lymphoma. Hopefully, it is something else?
Between 2nd and 1st avenues closer to 2nd avenue on east 59th Street.
Call or if possible drop in without the pup and ask.
I'm sorry about your dog. I don't think they do. Sorry.
Hi.. it's $40 for the visit and approx. $15 per shot.. hope that helps.
There is an emergency vet on 55th st 9-10th ave. Blue pearl o ly if you can afford it,but better than your pet dying.
The Humane Society does not euthanize dogs for adoption or knowingly adopt out a sick animal.
Walk in is one way but try calling either around 9:30am or 3:30pm Dont wait more than a half hour at a time. The place is popular cheap and the vets are excellent. It's worth the bother. Followup visits are made before you leave.
It's not that expensive, and they are very helpful
I don't think you need an appointment for donations...
The cost would be $40 to $55 for the appt. and the cost of the xray and veterinarian review. Call for further details. It is the least costly in nyc.
You should do the following: (1) bath your dog, thry recommend not bathing your pet for 2 weeks after the procedure. (2) buy a large soft cone. You will get a plastic elizabethian cone. It is not always comfortable. (3) Do not feed your dog after midnight. Your dog might choke while on anesthesia.
Humane Society a one of the best or the best place to take your pet for treatment. I can't tell you how much is going to be but i can say it will be reasonable and affordable. The other option is a truck that service pet for people on some kind of assistance Medicaid or SSI but look for this under the nyc health department or call 511 for assistance. Post your experience if you can i would like to know how is your pet doing after treatment. Good luck
You need to call them to get a quote and/or make an appointment to speak directly with one of the veterinarians. I believe they have the lowest prices and the best veterinarians in nyc.
An exam is approximately $40. Treatment and x-rays are more. If you require urgent care, you should look into discounted services.
You need to call them. They don't choose the dogs they take in.
Right off 2nd Ave, between 1st and 2nd
Call and inquire. The visit is a low $40 unless they sqeeze you in because you want to see a vet more quickly. The price for this is $55. Procedures are additional. All their charges are lower than usual for this area. The vets are excellent. Hope your pup feels better soon.
The usual vet hours at the Humane Society are 10am -12pm and 1:30pm to 4pm. You might want to call them for a specific vet's hours and days.
Contact the Humane Society . They have a very good adoption center. They will try to work with you.
Contact the Humane Society for prices
It is difficult to get through on the phone. Everyone in nyc knows their prices are far less. Drop by to set an appointment and bring your financial info if you need help.
When you call they will give you a price for what services you need you can decide then if you want to make a appointment Good Luck in your job search and in your new puppy
Must call them. Most initial visits cost $40.
I'd try emailing. Its hard to get the clinic on the phone.
I'm 70 years young. I have a sweet pupup. I live in Brooklyn. In the Carroll Gardens area. Need financial help. Where do I begin. He is 5 months.
Take the cat & the kitten(s) inside. They will die in the cold. Maybe a cardboard box for containment? Call the Humane Society, the ASPCA and any other organization you can google. They should be able to help you.
You should call the humane society or the ASPCA. It is dangerously cold outside.
Where can I go to get my cat neutered
There are several organizations which may be able to help find your cat a home. The Humane Society is one. You should try the ASPCA too.
I don't understand all the details of your question. I would call the Humane society and explain your pet's ptoblems and your financial situation.
Do not know what rrsvur are. You should reach out to them.
You can also email them for information, but yes, Dana's information is correct.
Yes. You do need to make an appointment in advance though.
I am unaware of The Humane Society having a social worker. You could try calling to ask if they can offer assistance with the costs.
Call there first. They do have an adoption center that takes in cats if they have space. They may examine the cat to determine if there is a medical problem causing the aggressiveness
Call them although I doubt it. Give it to a pet store
I do not work there but it seems logical that there are only so many appointments possible in a day. The vets are thorough and seem to care about the pets that are seen there.
It can be a long wait. Avoid weekend calls and during the week try to call early when tbey open or at 4pm. The wait is worth it. The vets are excellent and the prices are low for nyc. In order to keep prices down they run a lean staff so there are not many people answering the many calls.
