Humane Society of New York (HSNY) and Humane Society of the United States(HSUS) have no affiliation. They are two entirely separate entities. HSNY has a 4 star rating on charitynavigator.org with 88% of funds going towards programs which include animal medical care, animal shelter & adoption and public education.
