This place is a joke. Told to call @ 8 am to attempt to secure a spot but no one answers and the first thing the automated voice says is to look elsewhere and there won’t be space for your pet. Quick to take peoples money but can’t pick up the phone to speak with a client. Shouldn’t be on the phone waiting for someone to answer up to an hour.
Yes there is a small adoption fee. I believe for a dog anywhere between $75 and 250. Kittens less than 4 months old: $125, cats over 4 months old $75 (fee waived during weekdays) and cats over 3 y-o: no fee. Hope this helps.
Kittens are $125, cats under 3 years old are $75, and cats over 3 years old have no adoption fee. For dogs, large breed dogs are $75, small breed are $150, and puppies are $200.
Yes. Medicaid, Medicare. Whether you're on public assistance or SSI, SSID. You must call them first to make an appointment. You cannot walk in. But it's free. You must bring your cards and picture id.
I really enjoy everything that they do for the community and how they help my pet get over some bad times even with me having no income or low-income they really did good for me very happy about the service that they provide
Hello, I have a puppy that I no longer love, but I find it difficult to take care of him because I work, my puppy is called Jeico and I have all the vaccination papers
In honour of " Adopt a shelter cat month" all cats and kittens are "name your fee" every Tuesday in June. They're located at 424 E 92 St. Normally kittens up to four months are $125. Four months to 3 years is $75. Over 3 is free. Please note fees include spaying or neutering, vacinations, all tests and microchip and a collar with id tag.
Puppies are beautiful and so are the grown-ups I'm not sure how much are the puppies but the grown-ups are usually cheaper and housebroken try going for at least a 1 year old they still act like puppies and they give a lot of love
Can you spay/neuter, vaccinate, etc. for homeless cats in ASPCA?
In spring, mating season, each cat gives birth to +/- 6 kittens that have the same luck as their parents, if treated, then adopted, they will have a better quality of life.

I am not sure but I believe you can. Call them to ask
Why does the ASPCA not show them helping animals instead of just the animals in need. We all understand that there are abused and animals in need. It would be of benefit to show where all that money goes.

Perhaps you should volunteer there with the explicit purpose or rectifying this grievance of yours. I'm sure they will, gratefully, accept any and all of your efforts towards the end of fulfilling their mission statement. That's how it works, after all -- a beneficent, world for all creatures, if it could be that beyond just pointing out the inadequacies and insufficiencies of how hard good, well-meaning people work toward that end. Sorry for being blunt, but, really ... if it matters to you, roll up your sleeves and have at it!

ASPCA has days where you can adopt call them and will assist you
The ASPCA doesn't normally charged any fees for adoptions of pets over the age of 3 years. However during the covid emergency the ASPCA are not charging any fees for all adoptions.
Do you need to make any appointment in order to go in and go for adoption because I am trying to adopt a kitten and I was also wondering if there are kittens available for adoption and what time do you open and close ?
Jennifer | Sep 9, 2021
Colleen Slofkiss | Sep 9, 2021
Everything is virtual at the moment. Call them and tell them you are interested in a kitten and they will set things up for you to zoom meet the animals. We have lots of kittens!!!!!!
Well you have to go towards adoptable pets but personally it's better to go in person as some pets on there are no longer available while others are in the shelter itself and you'll learn more about the pet your adopting there.
If they have the funds they will help me personally I bring my pet to there vet there more comfortable GO on line and APLY for the snap program they will email you a certificate to take half off
It's a rescue shelter and there is no specific breeds on demand. Dogs are rescued in many ways (strays, nypd cases, transfer from other shelters etc). There is no predicting who will be rescued in the future. The only way is to stop by (walk in, open 7 days a week). Small breed puppies don't come by very often but you never know, you may just luck out. Adoption fees range from $75 to $250 depending on the dog. All are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and they give you food for the next few days as well as the harness or collar and leash. Bring a valid photo ID, it's a same-day adoption if you find the right match.
75$+.also it Depends on your financial and or living arrangements.. Hope that helps.and may you find a wonderful lively healthy addition too your family.
They're always accepting.. Go to their website and there's a form to fill out. They do require training and irientation sessions depending on what u want to do.
Hi Sandra. If you were to call and talk to the adoption center, they will instruct you on how to proceed. The ASPCA makes sure that the animals find a great home matched to their personality.
U can try petfinder. Lots a ppl cant keep their pets and want a good home forever...good p.s.shelters will charhe a minimal fee bit u get shot records up to date and after u spay or neuter if they're not already fixed, shelters will normally give u money back, as an incentive to not breed more homeless and unwanted animals..
Definitely check with your insurance if they have a pick up drop off Service for you, of her wise perhaps calling to see if the ASPCA will try to help you woth the fees or find you a ride. Good luck to you and your sweet furbaby.
Take your dog for a check up . My dog was like that and the next day he got up and he was Limping and could not walk right. Take your dog a an ASPCA , ASAP.

What are the requirements to adopt a small breed puppy, I want to do it
Fatima Parra | Aug 10, 2022
Albert Brown | Aug 10, 2022
If you see a small breed puppy on our website, first apply for them. Once the adoption team gets to your application they will call you and make an in person appointment. At that appointment you'll be able to see if the dog is a right match for you. Bring state ID and proof of residence to the scheduled appointment.

I think your asking if you have to surrender an animal or if you find a stray do you have to pay. I don't think so but for a found animal or an animal you want to surrender they will redirect you to ACC.
Hello
do you you have baby kittens for adoption?
I have a 3year old adopted dog, she loves all animals. she keeps bringing home baby birds and lets them lose to play with.
That's why I'm looking for a kitten to grow up with my dog.

This is the place call them you shpuld receive help
What kinds of animals? Will these animals be taken away to animal control and probably destroyed? Im not trying to come off as rude or offensive... Have you tried talking to this person with the 16+ animals about their situation? In my opinion i would do that first and see if you can understand whata going on and come to a healthy agreement. This person and the animals i assume have already created a bond it woukd be a shame if they were taken away and have them suffer as well as the person.
Yes, if you do an in person adoption. I did that and went home with 2 cats. I'm loving every minute of it, well most every minute. I would suggest that u visit their website, fill out the application online and get some ideas as to which cat most interests you.
You need to start the process on line. Then you continue with a phone interview at which point you need to decide how to move forward. I would suggest that you look at the available dogs on line before you start the process. This way you can work the process with a clearer goal.

I wish I could be of more assistance...

There's no adoption going on now due to the outbreak
For 30 what?
If you mean dollars, yes, at the moment the ASPCA is not charging adoption fees.
Truth is, the ASPCA is not looking for money.
They just want to be sure that you have thought your decision through, that you have the willingness and the means to take care of the puppy for the rest of its life.
A dog will live anywhere from 10 to 20 years, and they will be depending on you to keep them safe and healthy.
It's a very long term commitment.
I'm pretty sure you can get an appointment. I was there a couple of weekends ago to pick up my two new kittens.
They were simply awesome. My babies came with all vaccination up-to-date, dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, healthy and eating quality food.
They do have foster homes that just foster the animals until they find their forever home.
It says ASPCA is closed but on google it says its open, can I physically go to the store? Also are there dogs that dont cause allergues that one can adopt here?

He would have to go with you since he will he the legal caregiver for the kitten. They used to have an adoption certificate in which you pay the adoption fee and the person who receives the certificate picks out the animal. Not sure if that is still around though.
During the year, there are special events with discounted adoption fees. For example one event during halloween had discounts on all animals with black fur or markings. During national adoption events, sometimes it is name your own price with at least a $10 fee. Call and ask for special events.

Is very easy just full out the form and have your family members that is living with you in your home bring them with you because they are going to ask you and the adoption fee is $125,best of luck
Theyll only allow potential adopters to spend tme with the animals . However they do have a great volunteer program where you can spend tome with the cats and dogs and help socialize them so their chances of adoption goes up..
Hi Frankie.
The ASPCA animal hospital (AAH) is not able to perform checkups, vaccinations and preventive care such as heartworm, flea, and tick prevention. To find a veterinarian in your area, please visit the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) website which will assist you in locating an accredited veterinary practice.
This is from their website!
First you need to find out if they have those dogs there. If so, go at an early time and fill some paperwork out and afterwards they'll show you what's available.
Hi! If you surrender your dog at the ASPCA, they will ensure that she is in suitable shape to be put up for adoption in terms of her mental and physical health. Evaluating her might take a few days before she's put up for adoptio.
Unfortunately you can't just go there and get an x-ray done. If you have financial concerns they can help but it's different from person to person. You can call them and make an appointment.
How long do cats usually wait to be adopted? I looked at the adoptable cats online, and there is one I really like, but I am not able to come to ASPCA until Sunday since that is the only day my dad is available to come with me. Can you reserve?

I believe you can either call in and ask or you can just go in person and ask for the procedures. But I highly recommend this place it's called bideawee adoption on East 38th Street Manhattan look it up on Google I got my lab mix from here one blue eye one brown eye so cute
You can return him but I'm not sure if you get the fee back . Your supposed to check before adopting to make sure you don't have that type of issue . Plus that can't be good for the animal or you to have to return him.
Does the ASPCA have a lists of pet friendly rental properties ? Have a large sweet german shepherd but having terrible difficulty finding an affordable 2 bedroom place in Queens. Please anyone with recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Dusica Vujovic | Sep 10, 2018

They don't rent out apartments. They only deal with animals.
In some cities (Detroit, Michigan fir example) here in the u.s. have a law no pit bull terriers allowed. My suggestion is to make sure with you're countries laws preferably on paper should the topic be a concern during the adoption process. There's also guidelines produced by the airlines and certain vaccines required, most important is the number of hours any live animals can be allowed to fly, that's a really long time to expect any dog be caged, alone in his or her own waste. Especially a newly adopted dog that's confused etc. I'm guessing having 17 dogs you would have already considered dogs well being first ...stuffed animal is a Gift, i hope you reconsider perhaps hang picture of xxl pit bull on your wall, will be a better Gift for yourself..??
Humane society or return to ASPCA . They will charge you an amount and then you can work with them with what you can pay. Bring pay stubs etc, prof of income and they will assist. You must make an appointment as they dont do walk ins. They may not have all the tools for dealing with certain issues but will give you medication to ease pain.
I have a 4-month-old baby pitbull that I am taking care of and am trying to find him a good home or put him up for adoption Does anyone know a place I live in Jackson Heights, NY. Thanks
P.S No-kill Shelter PLease
You might bring him to your vet. Watch out for signs of vomiting or not eating his or her food, sometimes they do that. The Animal medical center on 59th or 60th has 24 hour veterinary services, if you don't have a vet of your own. Though the ASPCA might help, you can call and find out
If you are using the dog as a service animal , such as taking public transportation and to be in certain places with an animal , you need to register them as such. That's the only reason I would presume .Do you need the animal for that kind of support ?. If you do there's your answer
Yes they mighthave their emergency room open. If ASPCA IS NOT OPEN for emergency. The animal medical center is open
Located on East 62 or East 61 and 1st ave.
I have medicaid, A dog that was strayed and i picked him up gave him a home.

Well that's a great thing all dogs need a home. You should get him or her to the ASPCA and make sure the dog is healthy. That's what I would do , just a suggestion. I hope you enjoy your new friend
Great idea rescue dogs are wonderful, and need homes. As far as the Jack Russell you can check the website, they usually post the dogs they have up on line for adoption. Or you might swing by and check the place out. You can always talk to a caretaker there at the ASPCA and tell them what you are looking for. But I must tell you that a lot of their dogs are mixed breeds and finding a pure Jack Russell might be tough. But you might see another breed of dog you like , if not you can check it out you might get lucky. There is Best Friends Adoption and The Northshore , both of those places are rescue shelters for pets . Google either one for more info
You can go online and see what dogs are up for adoption. Keep in mind they rescue dogs, because of that they have a lot of mix breeds. A pure breed English bulldog puppie might be hard to find there. Its possible to maybe get a mix with an English bulldog . I have been to a few rescue centers including Northshore and have never seen a English bulldog , but call or visit you might get lucky
Never declaw a kitten or a cat. Would You cut your fingers off at your first joint? If you cannot deal with the nails - do not get a cat. You probably shouldn't even get an animal period.

They do it for free if you have Medicaid or Medicare. With proof of NYC id. For heads up the truck is usually at the location at 7 am. Pls arrive by 3:00 A.M. Or camp out. It really gets packed. Make sure you bring a sheet of paper to write down your name. Ppl could start signing in as they come. They only take a certain amount of pets.
I just lost my shih tzu to cancer, on Nov 29,2017. It was the hardest decision of my life. I had her since she was 8 weeks old. She was 14yrs old when she pass. It's your decision do what's best for the dog, you don't want her to suffer. Good Luck, In My Prayers!!
Hi if your not able to re-home..Aspca or Animal care control the bronx and queens have only drop off sights, for acc just surrender to a no kill shelter god bless good luck💞
There is a hold fee and an adoption fee for puppies. I believe to hold a puppy costs 75$ and it's not refundable. But if you proceed with the adoption they take it out of the 200$ adoption fee that becomes 125$
During the week:
Kittens < 6 months: $125
Cats > 6 months > 1 year: $75
Cats > 1 year: no fee
During the weekend:
Kittens < 6 months: $125
Cats > 6 months: $75 (include ages 1-3)
Cats > 3 years: No fee
At any time if you adopt two cats, the fee is waived for the least expensive of the pair.
Voila! Hope this helps!
It's best to visit the ASPCA. As per a rep, they are unable to update their system with new rescue as they get so many. So, they suggest you visit, fill out an application, and tour the center to see the pets. My experience was beautiful. I adopted my puppy Skye Bleu 4 weeks ago and shes perfect. I wish you the best.
Is there some shelter or ASPCA location in the Bronx where I could go to hold and pet cats? (We cannot have one, due to some friends and family having cat allergies.)

The ASPCA maybe be more willing than the Animal Care and Control Center.. My suggestion is to call before going. I hope this helps.
Kittens are primarily $125.
The only reason kittens are not up on the website is that they are not here long enough to make it on the site before they are adopts
Now they only attend the first 25 pets that show up, you may want to be there by 9AM. Depending on your income, they will tell you how much they charge, the regular amount or a lower amount if your income is very low. If it is a car, and you have the funds, the Animal Medical Center is a better option though.
If its a puppy then I would suggest that you try using the puppy training spray on a wee-wee pad. Puppies don't really have control when relieving themselves so it will take a few weeks. Consistency is the key.
I am looking to adopt a tea cup dog about 2 years old. Please let me know your availability or I will wait for one when it becomes available.
Thank you I look forward to hearing from you...Vermell
Qualifications vary, depending on a healthy pet or a challenged one. Best call for information, but they make it very possible for anyone willing to love and care for any pet.. The staff is amazing, they will supply all you need ,with a smile and professionalism.
Anyone who wants to adopt any pet, should ask the ASPCA, and besides that there are others animals shelters, where you can give a home to some of those lonely animals. Some of them are waiting for a home. The only thing you need to have is a place 🏠to take the pet 🐕and love.❤
