Great place to adopt, staff is very friendly and helpful. They seem to really care about the animals. Would recommend!

My mom and I went to surrender our cat Stacey and her five kittens. Mom and I are very happy because staff was so professional and kind towards us. And we know for sure our beloved Stacey and her litter, will be adopted by loving families. We need to move to another city, and they don´t allow pets. Thanks HSBC!

We decided to adopt a kitten, we contacted Broward Humane Society and went in the next day to visit with some kittens. We ended up adopting 2. The staff was amazing and facilities were clean. It is very obvious that the animals are well taken care of. If you are looking for a pet, please consider adopting.

Great place to take your pets for vaccines! It is first come, first serve, so I recommend getting there early, but the staff and doctors are very friendly and the facility is clean and well maintained. We brought a litter of 7 puppies in, and were taken care of quickly and efficiently. A wonderful, affordable option to keep your pets healthy!
Absolutely, and if you are a Broward County resident, you can apply for the SNIP program voucher online. The Broward County Humane Society accepts this voucher costing you $0.00.
They have several choices, best to visit and see for yourself - website pictures don't do justice for what you can find there and sometimes its already adopted if you take too long. Facility is good for visits, hard to leave without a pet.
Do they do cremation there and how much and long till you get the ashes back ? And are they caring with the dead body ?
Abner Aguila | Sep 7, 2019
dawn kuhns | Sep 7, 2019
Yes they do. I took my cat there and they were very respectful with her. There is a link on the webpage under Services that lists euthanasia and cremation services and prices.
They'll take him back, in my experience. And they'll keep him till someone else adopts. I had to take back a dog and he was there until he found another home about 2 weeks later (I checked up on him with them occasionally).
My husband called about putting our peekinese dog that is 17 yrs to sleep and was told he has to have proof of ownership

This is for the pet's safety. Otherwise unscrupulous people such as angry neighbors could just come in and have animals put to sleep. Yes, it happens. It shouldn't be too hard to prove ownership by vet bills, vaccination records, etc.
My dog just got bitten by a dog on the leg and she got deeply cut,do i bring her there or can i just treat her at home.can you please tell me how much it would cost me for the visit, the xray and the shot for the infection if she haves one.

I don't work there but I would have the dog look at you can call them they have special funds for people don't have much money and they can probably give you a low cost price and give the dog a shot just for the fight alone I would call them can't hurt you the find out if they have special funds for people who don't have a lot of money I know I don't have a lot of money and that's why I went to them
Yes you can. But you have to have an appointment. If you live in Broward they will spay/neuter your cat for free. Everything you need to know is on their website.
The Humane Society adopts out all adoptable dogs and will keep them indefinitely. That is not to say that no dogs are euthanized. Dogs that have severe health or behavioral issues may be euthanized.
All dogs that make it to the adoption floor will stay until they are adopted.
I am not working there but visited few weeks ago looking for an small dog to adopt. There are two centers few blocks apart and learned one is only for animals people can't or want anymore. Most of them mid to big size. Some time maybe they have some small. The other center is for animals found in the street or taking away. All very nice places, clean and great customer service. Some time they receive few small or specific, for this you must call or go to their website where they post the pictures of all dogs, cats or other availables. Something for sure they don't last for long, people are very committed for adoption which is great to see some days very few left.
I am still looking for mine...🤗
No. The best bet is take it to a nearby vet and see if its microchiped. If it is and its registered hopefully you'll find the owner. The humane society does not take in lost dogs and they do euthanize animals. Broward County animal control is near them and they do take in lost dogs but unfortunately they euthanize too. I think they have a few days hold on dogs that
Broward county animal control center or the humane society of Broward county make sure that you have an appointment cause some times they can't do it that day
What would be a suitable cat carrier? I am surrendering a cat and don't have an official carrier. Can I use a box?
Janette Westley | Sep 7, 2019
anthony garzon | Sep 7, 2019
Yes , a box would be ok . It should be big enough so that the cat can move around in and making small holes so the cat can see out would be good. Cats usually don't like any type of carriers anyway so making the cat as comfortable AA possible and secure enough so the cat won't but out at any point during the trip will make it safer for every one involved.

my neighbor left her 2 cats wondering around the community and i have been taking care of them for too long. They do not look so healthy but they seem fine. Is it okay if i bring them in and put them up for adoption ?
Huda Amoor | Sep 7, 2019
Katie Martin | Sep 7, 2019
It is not a no kill shelter so make sure they can pass the adoption test first.
They may be ferals you know. I feed around 40 and I am part if the TNR program. I keep them indoors for 2 weeks after surgery. Some come inside when they dont like the weather.
I have two airline kennels that I would like to donate. I used them once to transport my two kitties from Hawaii to Florida and bought them huge for the very long trip. I have no use for them now. Where can I drop them off?

I think that you can do it in a place located in the north rast corner of Sample and Powerline in Broward
Hi my name is Samantha I will like to know how I can be a volunteer? Thank
To answer your question. First we are a pet surrender facility. We do not take in strays. Pets that are healthy and pass a temperment exam are put in our general population with no expiration date as long as they are healthy. Our turn around adoption rate is about three weeks. If an owner is unsure that their pet will pass the temperment exam, for 40.00 we will tell them the result of the test and they can then decide to leave them with us or find an alternative solution. Additionally, our pet surrender prevention program has helped several thousand owners keep their pet that they would have otherwise turned in. We have helped with expensive medical care, behavioral issues, finding pet friendly housing, giving food and supplies, etc. Age and disability are not deterrents for adoption. I've seen thirteen year old cats and twelve year old dogs get adopted. We also work with breed specific rescues for dogs who don't generally do well in shelters to better ensure adoption success.
I'm sorry to hear of your dog passing. We do not take open containers, and we get our food generosity donated from Purina. You can try Paws 2 care Coalition, Pets in Distress, Good Karma Pet Rescue.
The humane society doesn't provide free medical service. You can check Groupon for different vet clinics in the area that give you a discount price on first exam. The humane society of Broward only provides medical care to their own rescued animals and not the public as per a friend of mine that was fostering a kitten from them and once they had the kitten for a little while they told him it was his responsibility as they saw him as new owner. Good luck.
I agree with Yosef. If you could just drop them off for a little while and then pick them back up when you wanted, they would be overwhelmed with people using them as a hotel or babysitter.
Hello and no I am not part of the actual animal drop off and pick up program and procedures and daily operations that go on but do help out what I can for the Stray animals that are around the area and also the ones come across in different counties throughout the state of Florida so I don't know if this answer can be helpful or not have a good day and bless all you have to thank you very much
Adoptions open at 11. It’s best to complete the application online and look thru the available adoptions. They update pretty quickly. For smaller pups you have to be quick because they go fast.
Anyone know a miniature pinscher rescue or where I may be able to find a young MinPin??? I just my lost my 12 yo fur baby. I’m not afraid of taking care of pups with conditions (ie diabetes). Just a pup that needs as much love as I do.
Rachel E | Aug 7, 2022
A. Brown | Aug 7, 2022
Try the humane society. If they don't know them maybe able to direct you to other animal rescues.
You may have better luck checking in with Broward County Animal Care amd Adoption as HSBC doesn't take strays. If they aren't "strays" you'll be paying out quite a bit of "surrender" fees, if it's that many animals at once and they even accept them.
That or find rescue groups on Facebook. Depending on their age, health, temperment, etc, they may not be accepted or worse if deemed unadoptable.
Also, if they're too young and need a foster family before getting adopted... There aren't enough to go around.
I wish I had better advice but there are too many animals and not enough resources to help all of them.
All dogs have to be neutered. The whole point is to stop puppies from being born. There are way too many animals that need homes for them to take a chance of bringing more into this world. You're doing the right thing by adopting so just enjoy your pet and thank you
I have male cats that are spraying everything! How can I stop this? I can't afford 500 a cat to fix them.
Gary Hogan | Feb 8, 2022
Angel Daharry | Feb 8, 2022
Low cost neutering clinics. Broward county offers the service at low cost clinics, you can also try animal services center or look on Groupon for discounted services for neutering, but this is something you'll want to do because as they get older they will still spray even after they've been neutered.
It's a hard time putting a baby down of course they're going to let you stay and say goodbye to your baby. I was with my baby from the beginning to the end and I told her cross over the Rainbow Bridge.
Call ASPCA first! They will see if it's chipped and find owner. Hopefully in the middle of the night! If my baby was out crying I would want that call. ASAP
catch a pigeon pigeon. fell out of the nest. It has feathers but still cannot fly. is very baby. I don't know how to take care of it. I gave him water and soaked bread but he did not eat the bread. I only drink water. can you help me with it?
Lol hedgehogs?? Ok but I have no idea what do u do with a hh?? I was searching for a dog.
Go to adoptapet.com they have everything but a hh, don't know good luck
Write a history of your dog so when you take it they have more information for the person who adopts it. Also that will give it a better chance of finding the right forever home. Important things like if they don't care for children or if they are protective of their food like chewing that kind of things.
Yes they usually have puppies and kittens as well. They have a very broad range of ages of pets from very young to elderly. If you want to adopt, fill out the adoption application on their website and either call or visit in person to start the process.

No, can get him back after you surrender the animal.
Declawing cats is unhealthy for the cat and causes many behavioral problems. Declawed cats become aggressive and have many accidents outside of their litter box because it hurts them when they try to dig in the litter. Declawing a cat is the same as cutting of your fingers from your first knuckle. It is not recommend to declaw your cat unless it is absolutely necessary. There are sprays you can buy to prevent them from scratching furniture. On that note I believe you would need to take your cat to a private vet to have them declawed however it is not recommend. Please don't declaw your cat it is cruel and inhumane.

I'm not sure you need to ask if it's a good place to get her re-homed. But considering most people want puppies she might sit in a kennel awhile try doing a private adoption first . Ad in a newspaper

Please don't... They will kill it if not adopted within two days. Since quarantine there is guidelines for everything... you need to call them but I really hope you don't.... Try find somebody. If you need to email me, we can find homes together
I am sorry to hear that, unfortunately I had to do the same to one of the kittens I adopted. Yet the experience was smooth and easy. Just filled out some paperwork, answered a few questions the transition was smooth. The staff was very polite, friendly and professional your experience will be good. Mine was 5 out of 5 stars
Yes we can always use towels. Unfortunately we don't use sheets. They don't hold up well, they rip easily. I would hope that they could be donated at a thrift shop. People could surely use them. We're very grateful for people like you that think of shelters like ours to donate.
Animals are always best return to the shelter if it's not working out. Like what was already said, they do try to work with you and help you to keep your friend. If at all possible.
Large dogs have a harder time being adopted due to many factors such as size restrictions, etc. Please consider re-homing them via Adoptapet.com, Next Door, etc. Ask for a small re-homing fee to deter dog fighters and others who would not treat them well.
You can take her there make an appointment and the will tell you what papers to bring.. you get it discounted or sometimes it's free. Go ahead and call them
I would say all animals that get adopted at the Humane Society all of the animals have their shots they are neutered or spayed and they will give you information about their feeding and where to buy it
Schedule an appointment and bring as much information with you as possible (it often helps the kittens get into better homes) and be prepared to pay a fee. I dont know how much it is but I dont think it's very much.

Yes, you may take them both in. If they love each other i would recommend bringing them in together so they can get a sign the says "we love each other and we have to go home together!" There is a surrendering fee of $30. I would recommend also making an appointment to surrender them because they may be able to help with your issue.
Yes she's right you can try for starters pet pals they're very helpful and they can give you free medicine to and you can call the humane society I'm not sure if they're still using a sliding scale or if they have a set prices I've been very fortunate in that regard good luck I wish you the best
Do you have any volunteering program for kinds who wants to be Veterinarians? maybe even a summer camp we could pay for you to let them have the experience?

You could drop the Kitty Family off at the Humane Society But they are overwhelmed with kittens.
You could look for private Cat Rescues where this little family would be not be euthanized.
Yes you can at that location. (Humane Society of Broward County) I live in that area and there is quite a few cats that I feed on the outside that I see twice a day .And I have a friend in Coral Springs that I pay her and she come and trap the cats with me get them spayed and neuter and vaccinated so when I went to visit over there I was telling them about the cats or they were telling me to bring them I said they're already fixed and those cats most of them are like outside cats so they said at any time when I do get any of them and I want to bring them I could so I'm sure you can bring the cats over there.

If the puppy you pick out is under 4 months old, it is $250 and includes being spayed or neutered, all shots, a chip and a free follow-up exam at VCA veterinary clinicclinic
Banfield has a program for about 30 dollars a month where you can have the dog checked on regular basis: deworming, teeth cleaning, blood testing and general check up with the vet is included. Do not guess what is wrong and get him pet health insurance is more than affordable, and other pet hospitals have the same program, just check your local guide.

Can I surrender 2 cats whos owner died unexpectedly ?
I think it has to do with their capacity. When it's a rescue they have to take it in give it shelter and advertise it and keep it there for a much longer time than when it is a surrendered dog or cat. This is my opinion.
We paid $100 for our puppy, that was because the previous owner had her fixed & she already has a microchip!
Whatever monies anyone spends at the Humane Society goes right back to them! Money well spent I think!

I found a beautiful dog and I was surprised at how good she is, I found out she is pregnant too but in my condominium do not want pets, you can help me find them home, I can not hold her anymore. Thank you so much

You can call the Humane Society admissions and ask if they can take her. They do have a foster program. If not, call Good Karma pet rescue, Pets in Distress,
No, they do not take in strays. We are a pet surrender facility only. Broward Adoption and Foster takes in strays as well as other local rescue organizations.
I just adopted my labrabull and is been so good , you really need to check with Human Society they will know what to do .adoption should be a happy moment for both the dog and you 😍😎.
Over on Griffin Road they have the Broward Humane Society. And I think if you spoke with someone there they could have educated advice. I'll pray for you though
They don't provide veterinary services to animals other than the ones under their care. Also the declaring procedure is nothing less than amputation of the last bone of the cat's finger. Veterinarians in Canada don't perform this primitive surgery because of ethical concerns. Some cats start missing the litter box a after being declawed. They do it out of spite because their owner food this to them.
I am 12 could I volunteer at your shelter to just give Love or feed/cleanup their area?
The veterinarian or veterinary establishment that vaccinated your dog should have provided you with the tag if you lived in the same county the very was at during the vaccination. Meaning very will give you the tag on the spot. Unless very was located in a different county than yours. Vets aren't allowed to issue rabies tags to people that live in other counties. If that was the case you need to take proof of vaccination to animal care and control of your county and they will issue a tag for you. Also if pet isn't spayed or neutered it will create a whole set of rules and fees will increase exponentially.
Hi!
My name is Zoraida, I'm from P.R. I recently sent 2 of my rescued babies to your facility through S.A.S. their names are Gía and Imhotep. I was wondering if I could some how be able to keep in touch with their new families, and know about them?
I rescued an 11wk old pitbull mix (Sonata) from an abandoned building when she was around 7wks old. I was told that Humane Society sometimes promote events for free pet care and I was wondering how can I find out additional info on these events.

I will suggest you give them a call to see if they have space. Big dog ranch in palm beach might be an option.
I'm a volunteer there. They don't offer veterinary services, only vaccinations.
Maybe you can find a Vet open on Sat. I hope your baby is going to be ok. Good luck.
I have a pit bull about ten years old I am unemployed and have no money. I have tried taking her to an Animal hospital, but they want 2000 dep. I don’t have any money & she is dying can I take her to you do she can be put down she is suffering.

That breaks my heart. Please call Hollywood animal hospital and talk with them or call jan at grateful paws she is an animal rescue service she might be able to help. I lost my baby bulldog last year. Don't want then to suffer
Call animal control or the pound or look online. Call Channel 10 ABC local news I think they can help. They help many lost cats or dogs. You can check out local 10 news website. Goodluck.
I am off work for 8 months due to cancer treatments. I'm hope most of the day every day and would be interested in providing a temporary home to a cat or small dog. Does anything like this exist?

Yes. You can be a foster for an animal. If you look on the main website, you can see the information and then go through the process to become a foster
Well the truth is they allowed a cat with kennel cough to be adopted with 1/2 of the required treatment so I paid for the rest at a local vet hospital. As far as i see they could care less about the animals ! However they do seem to like cash !
Why is this even allowed ?
Google the website, humane society of broward county. Once there, go to adoptions of dogs, then the list will pop up of all dogs available for adoption. Pure breed are very to cone by, but I got very lucky with my chocolate lab
there's a variety of dogs available with high rotation, you need to stop by and visit pets... sometimes more than once until you find what you're looking for 😉
The Humane Society of Broward County asks for a surrender fee to help subsidize this cost:
Pet Surrender Fee: $25
Each additional pet from the same household: $15 per pet
(Limit 5 adult pets over 6 months of age per week, per household.)
Litter fees: $40 per litter
(A litter is considered sibilings of the same age, less than 6 months of age. If multiple litters are surrendered, the cost is $40 per litter.)
Definitely try contacting the human society first. Stopping by in person would probably be best. But if not give them a call and explain the situation.
Good morning I have a rescued kitten about 6 or 7 most old. I've fallen in love with her but there are so many big boy cats after her. Im disabled and on disability. Where can I have her spayed for free?
I need to put my 16 yr-old baby Shanti down. She has stopped eating and has become incontI ment since yesterday. Can I walk in for euthanasia services? I can't get them on the phone - only messages

Yes I have used the service a couple of months ago for my 17 year old American Eskimo Dog.
There is info on the HSBC web sit
No appointment needed. Go in the furthest west door not the main door.
yes, but its affordable... $30 for cats, $100 for dogs. You also get a bag of pet food. Pets come spayed.
Every now and then, they have specials 2 pets for price of one 😉
To adopt a friend for life, the Humane Society of Broward County requires the following adoption fees.

$30.00 for Guinea Pigs (Adopt 1, get 1 free)
$25 for Hamsters (Adopt 1, get 1 free)
$55.00 for Ferrets (Adopt 1, get 1 free)
You must be 21 or older to adopt. Please bring in a valid photo ID.
These fees include:
Spaying/neutering for every animal, including puppies and kittens, before going home
Treatment for fleas & ticks
Preliminary vaccinations and de-worming
Overall wellness check
Heartworm test for dogs (for dogs 7 months or older) and Feline
She will continue to produce milk after being spayed. HOWEVER, it can be painful for the mom and she will probably not allow the kittens. I would recommend waiting MINIMUM 1 month to be weaned. Please get them all fixed when the babies are old enough as there is a surplus of cats in shelters and many homeless ones roaming the streets
We are in a shelter network. If, and it rarely happens, we are filled, the animal will be transported to a shelter that does have space. Local and nation wide.
You need a kennel to board them or have a sitter either come and go to allow the dogs to exercise and relieve themselves , or have someone house sit and care for the dogs. I have done both depending on length of time we were going to be away. A search and some vetting should yield what you need.
If you bring the dogs to the humane society , I believe you give up your rights to the dogs. And they would be put up for adoption or fostering until someone adopts them. But you may not be allowed to get them back.
I believe so. A year or so ago one my cats got pregnant before I was able to spay her and we, my family, relinquished ownership of them as we didn't have the means to care for all of them. From what I remember, the payment was $25.00 per drop off.
Please dont. Wait black cats are used for rituals no one will give sell or anything the month of October near Halloween black cats please hold on to the Cat 2 after Halloween
There's an adult cat hanging around my house. He wakes me up at 4am. My son made the mistake of feeding him and now he won't go away. Hes beautiful but I can't keep him. My granddaughter is allergic. What do i do?

Call Broward County Animal Services. They will come and pick up the cat if they can find it. The Humane Society is a shelter for people who turn in their pets. Animal Services takes cares of Strays, lost dogs and the like.
Do you guys have teacup dogs?

Yes you can but I wouldn't suggest that this time of a storm pending be safe please!!!
Like a saw concerned about the upcoming storm hope it does not come into Rec path I assume all places will be notified on a day-to-day basis as far as closures shelters and pet-friendly places all I can do for
All I can do is say call The Humane Society and ask if there's a pet shelter or a hotel that will accept pets in your area don't know exactly where abouts or even if the storm will be a direct hit let's hope not God bless
Do you guys have cat training?
