Went here for the beach. You can take a ferry or a boat. The ferry costs $16 for an adult and $8 for a child. After 15-20 minutes you arrive in the park in front of a store. You walk to the right and you'll see a paved road to the beach. There are changing rooms directly ahead and you go through them to get to the beach. If you want the best shells, you come to the beach and walk to your right to the northern tipof the island.

Entrance Fee: $16 ferry ride from Honeymoon State Park, $4 for single person vehicle parking, $8 for 2 or more. Basic Needs: Once on the island, there are plenty of water fountains, restrooms, and they have a cafe. How well-maintained: Very well maintained, i saw a frequent number of park rangers cleaning up some trash on the beach, and the trails had little/no tree limbs or anything like that on them. Amount of people: Since it is an island, I only saw a handful of people on my visit even on the beach. How quiet it is: Very quiet and peaceful. Unique: Its an island, and the ruins were quiet interesting. There were a lot of cool shells on the beach. place/trails size: Trails were very easy to travel on and long. The beach was also very long and accommodating for people who want to be alone on the beach. Seating: Lots of benchs on the trail and near the beach. Whats allowed: Pets are not allowed on the beach, not sure about the trails. Bugs: I would reccommend bringing bug spray, I got bit quiet a lot, not mych on the beach though. Amenities: Boardwalk, cafe, boat/kayak docks, rentals, trails, etc. Overall opinion: Very beautiful, water was gorgeous and warm, trails are well kept and a nice walk. Only thing i would've liked is a tower for the public to look out on the ocean but it was still a. very good visit.

Beautiful area for a romantic date, relaxation. The ferry is amazing the guys that run it are awesome, so friendly, and hilarious. We saw two dolphins on ferry home. Beach is just a regular beach just with less people better waves and more shells. White sands

Quiet and Secluded is the best way to describe Caladesi Island. You have to pay to take a ferry from the park to land on the island, however it is worth it. There is so much live shell fish on the island that I recommend you stand on the beach and watch the sand under your feet. There is a store on the island that sells food, drinks, and items you might have forgotten at home. There are covered picnic tables for those that prefer to bring lunch. The beach is miles long with white fine soft sand...ENJOY!!

Yes, I think it wss $25 per yak for the day.
To sit on the beach I don't know, we kayaked to it but their is a shelter with a big outside porch with picnic tables, they also serve food!
www.caladesiferry.org. It runs from the Honeymoon Island State Park. There is $8 entrance fee per car to the park.
We took our kayaks from Clearwater Beach. It was a great trip ❤️ if you ferry over you can rent kayaks there and they have water trails through the mangroves. We just used Google maps and paddled through some of them 💞
We didn't camp there, but I'm pretty sure you can. There were signs up talking about it. I dont think you have to pay extra or anything for ot either.
You can launch off the Dunedin Causeway. It's just a short paddle across the pass to Caladesi. The kayaking is great. You've got St. Joseph Sound, or you can go out in the Gulf. Sea grass beds, mangroves, beautiful white sand beaches, dolphins, manatees, turtles, rays, and don't even get me started on the birds. Have fun.
Why does it say dog friendly at Caladesi Island if you can't bring your dog??
You park on honeymoon island - there is a fee for that. Then you take the ferry to Caladesi - there is a fee for that as well. However, it's not horribly expensive, and it's very much worth it!
Only on a boat
I don't remember, but there is one at Honeymoon Island.
When the water temp is at least near mid 70s. As for the time of the day. Earlier the better. Closes before dusk. Also it either use the ferry or personal boat or kayak.
There are lots of shells. The shells are pretty small so I would bring a bag of you are a collector.
Best and closest place to launch from to get to Caledesi is from the causeway to Honeymoon Island. Free parking. If you don't have a kayak, Sail Honeymoon rents them from the causeway. On the beach at Honeymoon Island they also rent them.
Short answer yes. You would need a beach wheelchair to access the water. There is no overlook near the Gulf for a wheelchair and the nature trail is not paved.
Caladesi has no parking lot and is only accessible by boat
I didn't know until Ms. Cheryl kindly answered, thanks Cheryl!
Sorry Karen I dont know the answer to your question but I thought service dogs were allowed everywhere.
They charge $8 to get threw the gate no matter if your going to honeymoon island (highly recommended north park at the end) or if your going to the ferry. I would recommend just pay the 8 to get in and go to North park qnd don't waste the time and money on the ferry!
Yes they offer the option to rent a kayak at Honeymoon island. It's about 15 minutes each way on the ferry so someone from Ohio that's not very active might not want to try it though 🤣
Yes. You can also rent a kyayk at cafe for $37 including taxes.
There is a pet beach really close where you can park
Make sure u go early enough. The last ride back is at 430
No tent camping and no hammock camping. Sleeping has to be done on your boat.
Last ferry out is 2:30 p.m.. but if you make arrangements with them I think you can be out later than that you just have to talk to them about it
I would call the ferry company to make sure they are running. I think that Honeymoon Island State Park would be open today.
I'm pretty sure. There were a few people who had done just that, but I would call the Park and try to speak to the Park Ranger. They may be able to give you exact details not found online about where to park, etc.
20 min or so
I brought my own. I didn't look. Sorry
It should be. All state parks are open at this point minus one on the East coast
$16 per adult, $8 per child. It is well worth the price.
You cannot....at very low tides you might get there Don't bother with bike And I am a biker

I don't think you can take a dog on the ferry. However, many of the boaters who stayed overnight had their dogs and they had no problems.
There are Trails but you would have to bring your bike over on the boat don't know if they allow that? Or if they would be room?
I don't think so. You have to ferry over to this island. You can camp with a camper on Honeymoon Island.
Sorry, I do not understand what you are asking.
You could probably make arrangements with the ferry to get your group out there.
No lockers, but on the island there are bathrooms, showers, gift shop & food/ beverages for purchase.
No, no alcohol is allowed at State Parks in Florida. That said, nobody's gonna be smelling your cup to see what's in it.
Yes
I think your dad could get on and off the fairy very easily but there is quite a bit of walking to get from one end of the island where the ferry boat pulls in to the beach on the other end. Most of it is above-ground wooden walkways and they are pretty level. Maybe even a wheelchair would help. I don't know if they provide them on the island
Visibility is not great. You cannot really swim in the little 'rivers' on the leeward side, just kayak/ canoe and fish. Swimming is on the Gulf side.
I would think so. I know they have nature related items.
No
I have heard it is all clear. Was there 2 weeks ago and all was good.
I don't believe so, but you may want to check with them directly. I've seen beach chairs and coolers bit never any bikes. The trails aren't like the ones on Honeymoon.
Yes and you can also rent them which makes it easier
Everybodys answer is accurate. However...At the very least the aisles need to be accessible in case of emergency. That being said...if everybody brought their whole house full of beach stuff, then the boat would not be able to legally operate because thr aisles would be blocked.
$14 round trip adults, $7 kids 6-12 free for 5 and under. You still have to pay for the park admission.
Drive over the causeway to Honeymoon Island and you'll come to a booth. Pay the fee to enter the park and follow the signs to the ferry. Or you can always ask the ranger at the booth for directions though it's really easy. There's a parking lot and another booth to pay the fee for the ferry. Or you can just put Caladesi Island Ferry in your GPS and it will take you straight there :)
Unless you have a boat the only way to get out there is to take the ferry from Honeymoon Island. The beach is nice there is a combination Cafe and a very small gift shop
Just there Sunday. Last one leaves 6:30p
Got this info on the park site. Hope it helps! $6.00 per boat for up to 8 people, $2.00 for each additional person. $2.00 per kayaker. Ferry Service: Catch the Caladesi Connection ferry at Honeymoon Island State Park for entrance onto Caladesi Island. Entrance fees at Honeymoon Island State Park are: $8.00 per vehicle. Limit 2-8 people per vehicle. $4.00 Single Occupant Vehicle. $2.00 Pedestrians, bicyclists, extra passengers, passengers in vehicle with holder of Annual Individual Entrance Pass. The Caladesi Connection ferry travels to Caladesi Island for a four-hour stay. Ferry fees are: $14.00 per adult. $7.00 for children ages 6 - 12. Children 5 and younger ride free. Sorry, no pets are allowed on the ferry.
No. You could honeymoon island, but caladesi is completely surrounded by water. You could walk there and then take the ferry over. From north Clearwater beach it's going to be quite a distance to that area. Pinellas trail.
Yes. They have it in their brochure. You'd have to arrange that with the Park Service, however. As someone pointed out, they have 2 ferries, neither very big. But if it's a mid-small size wedding, I'm sure they'd enjoy the ride.
Yes!
It's not necessary. You might want to bring charcoal, definitely the steaks And shrimp 😎 and the cubed peppers...
You need to pay $4 for admission to Honeymoon State Park and then for the ferry, which I think was $12 per adult. If you come over on the ferry, and not in your own boat, you don't need to pay for admission to Caladesi separately.
