This cute little furry friend was adopted by us this morning! He will come home tomorrow after he is checked and cleared by the vet. We are so excited to add this adorable bunny to our family ❤️ Thank you to AFV--your staff is wonderful! You made the pet adoption process so easy!

One of the best organized shelters I’ve ever seen. Called this morning to ask about signing up for volunteering, and was told that everything was online. Went to the website, and was thoroughly impressed by the organization of the volunteer events. Super easy to sign up and get registered, went to the shelter to purchase the volunteer shirt, and was told that I was missing a couple things on my registration. They helped me get everything I needed in just a few minutes, and we were out the door in less than half an hour. The facilities were well kept and organized, and I can’t wait to start volunteering!!

This is one of the best shelters around and the workers and volunteer do their best to rehabilitate the dogs that might need it and help train them to become better pets. It doesn't always work out but they are there to help you in any possible. I got my last walking partner there and she's the best dog.

Excellent Shelter friendly staff clean facilities. Most animals have there own room. Just adopted My Boba Fett (Shatpei/Bassett?) For His big sister.
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
I would say very much so!! Staff seems very friendly and caring. This facility is very well maintained.
Yes you could take to Animal Friends of the valley. There's no charge to drop them off they have a drop off area. You can drop them off anytime day or night however it's better to do it during business hours. There's no charge, but they'll just ask you for basic info on the dogs in case you know anything about them.
Me & my wife love visiting the cat's & dog's. One day we will find our little friend and adopt him/her.
Most places charge for spaying. You can contact Actors and Others for some financial assistance and possibly any Trap, Neuter, Release programs in your area.
Much less than at a vet. If you cannot afford, we will not turn you away. No animal should suffer due to lack of funds.
Basically just get a dog and get him/her basic training and ask your granddaughter's therapist to write a letter consenting/prescribing the animal as an emotional support animal. An emotional support animal is different than a service animal as one is for emotional support; anxiety, PTSD, depression, etc and the latter is for disabilities and must be specially trained.
You have to be 14 with parent and 16by gour self yes with parents
Absolutely! If you go to the shelter, go before the end of this month, it's only $10. They are open 8-4 Monday-Saturday
Yes animal friends of the valley has a night drop off for dog's and cat's...You just take them in and they have individual cage's to put them in with food and water in them and a blanket/bed for them and you put em in and lock the cage. Then they also have a questioner that you can fill out about the pet and it's name and personality etc.
I believe there is a small fee to adopt, plus it will cost to license, or it could be included in small fee.
Hi Dianna, I'm a volunteer at AFV. Here is a link to the prices for dogs. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask me. https://animalfriendsofthevalleys.com/find-pet-licencing/
I don't think so but unsure. I know you can take your pet in to meet and greet 😊 Great dogs in there now! Want another fur baby so badly!
You'd have to call the shelter.
:Shrugs:
I am sure you can, I would call them first.
Call Riverside County Animal Control they will pick up the two dogs
I was told it's an area where found cats are placed usually adult strays, and it's not shown to prospective pet searchers(?). I was told from a previous worker via fb
I know for a dog, to get all it's vaccines, it's around 70.
Call the shelter and ask to speak with animal control. You can give them the information anonymously and they will do a welfare check on the dog. They will give them 30 days to correct any violations if not they will retrieve the dog for its safety and well-being. If the person gets the dog back, Animal Control will make regular checks on them to make sure they are still complaining. Everything is in the best interests of the animal.
No kill shelter unless deemed an aggressive dog with 2 incidents. No time limit, they find rescue placements for unadopted dogs/cats. No surrender fee, have nite drop off location available, but highly recommend drop off during business hours. This way you get to give information on animals habits, likes, dispositions... staff very caring and loving towards animals.
I agree call the shelter
They will hold the animal 9 days on the tenth day they give it up for adoption i know this for sure i just adopted a dog we took him home on the tenth day
I know for a fact that it is 14 and older with a parent and 16 and older to go by yourself. It's on their website.
They may I will check with a friend she knows the place well.
No go on line for age limits
They spay females
Yes, there is a drop off unit there. I don't know exactly how it works. But it's an after hours thing. I suggest you go there first thing Monday morning to pick up your animal.
To adopt I think 18
I think so
I'm not sure. They do offer it as a service for $25. I've only adopted a dog. They sterilize, give first vaccinations, plus rabies for dogs.
Yes they do
As far as i know they have had pigs there
Yea they take them in, my mom works there
Yes if they are about full and closed and taped up.
You need to call for apt and theycan give you charges
I would just call them, everyone I've ever talked to there were excellent. Don't call the # on your bill, call them directly & ask. Some scammers use the name of real businesses but have nothing to do with them
Yes you are. As a matter of fact it's HIGHLY encouraged.
Yes
Give them a call
They have a surrender site there.
Not sure, they are always spot on...... Might be allot on people adopting 🤩❤️😁
Walk in
24/7 I think because they have a night drop off
Yes but there is a limit of how many people are allowed in at a time :)
I believe you have to have a parent with you because you are a minor .Check with them
I wish there was a program for fixing feral cats for frer. LA county does but not Riverside. Too cheap and lack of interest. Rather gouge you for money than be helpful. We had to pay to fix on our own and we are seniors. Its all about the money not animals.
Im sure there is more to the story, but nothing hurts worse than losing a pet, find the lesson in this tragedy and do what you can so it doesn't happen again, even if it means changing the breed of dog you choose for a pet. With so many animals up for adoption this might be at least part of the solution. You can't change what happened to Cody but you can change how you do things differently with your next pet. Good luck
Just go to there website and there will probably be a survey of how you feel about them. Did you visit them? Hope you adopted a animal. They have great animals to adopt. Please adopt. They are beautiful staff and great with the animals for adoption. They need volunteers to walk the dogs. Go there you will be glad you did.
They have telephones there, call them and ask them
They will take kittens. My wife is a foster for kittens
I haven't seen any
You would.
Check the website or call. I believe they have some that need fosters
Contact Let Them Be Little cat rescue for direction.
Yes,,,not sure on the age limit tho,,,you may want to call and confirm to be sure ...
I have no idea but if they don't take it they might be able to to find someone who will
I REALLY DO NOT KNOW CALL THEM DIRECT .WHY DO YOU KEEP ON ASKING THIS QUESTION. I'M SURE YOU CAN GOOGLE THEIR NUMBER OR FEEL FREE TO DROP BY THEY ARE VERY FRIENDLY. I JUST DO NOT LIKE WHEN DONATE BAGS OF FOOD THEY GIVE ME PENNY'S TO THE DOLLAR FOR TAX PURPOSES. I NOW DONATE TO MOUNTAINVIEW HOSPITAL.
They always try to find homes for all the animals. Very few are put down. They have people they can turn to that often take the special needs animals. Thanks for asking. Ron Hill.
They only kill if they don't have room and you need a stray cat trap to bring in a stray
It's best to contact AFV for current details.Animal Friends of the Valleys is not a No Kill shelter. Right on the front door of the Surrender area it has a sign that clearly states: This is not a no kill shelter, by turning in your pet there is a high likelihood that yourpet will be euthanized.
I believe they post pictures on their site you might find him that way I don't really know if they do the actual trapping. Sorry I'm not much help on this question saying a prayer you find your kitty cat
No they only adopt out spayed animals
Absolutely. Any type of bedding is always welcome.
I believe the price is the same for all adoptions. Last time I adopted a dog it was 70-80 dollars.
Stop in and fill out an application or you can apply online as well.
To volunteer you do not need a workers permit. If you need community service then you need community hours form.
You can go to the office there and see if you can get them replaced
I have the perfect dog for you she is a German Shepard 1 years old still a puppy she’s loving friendly loves kids is potty trained knows a few commands but still needs a lilttke more trying with lots of love to give
There are sales often at AFV if you watch for them.
They try not to put animals down they have a very high adoption rate
I don't think so..i depends. Was she showing signs of being in heat before she got sprayed
I believe they are a no kill shelter, I remember reading somewhere that sometimes they have to euthanize an animal for health reasons or other reasons. But it is a last resort I believe. I hope that helps
Don't know. Call them.
Yes, they do. We unfortunately had to put our elderly dog down and brought him here. The staff were very kimd and compassionate. I believe the fee was around $80 for everything.
It depends on what you want done with your pet afterwards. I've seen from a few hundred to under a thousand, from what I remember. They are really nice and caring, if you call them they can give you a better range. Blessings to you and your family.
Have to get traps from your local pound.
14 wirh a parent or 16 without
There was a box to check that said "deceased" on my deceased dog's renewal form. I just checked the box and sent it back.
Yes you just have to wait the 5 day period but after that you can adopt.
They hold a animal for a certain number of days, for the owner to claim the animal. After which the animal is put up for adoption. You can place a hold on the animal at any time.
It is free no fee at all you can either put her in the drop off and fill out the papers there or you can go inside and tell them you cant keep her with information about her:)
I drop off food monthly. You can get a tax receipt if you ask when they arr open.
All their pet neutering are done at veterinarian hospitals locally. You're better off doing your own research and finding a place. I own a bunny before and got him from the Bunny Ranch I think there in Pomona. They might do free services or donations. You might want to check it out.
As far I know, yes
Nope not me sorry
The website, has a contract section. You can leave your information and ask a question. They also list direct emails, so, you go that route too. They also list their phone number. I highly recommend you, to use one of the for mentioned contract methods. Your question was originally posted on Google and google is not operated by, animal friends of the valley. They might not even check, the question and answer section. You can also stop by, look at the pets and leave a photo.
They dont respond to anything here. Give them a call if you have specific questiosn like this.
Yes. I've gotten multiple licenses there.
No but possibly looking at a reacue to assist with a placement would be better.
Hello! No, we do not feed pets to other pets. When we have reptiles in our care, we purchase food for them from a reputable reptile store nearby to ensure that they are properly cared for and we regularly work and collaborate with rescue organizations with our specialized domestic pets. Feel free to reach out if you have any more questions--we are happy to help!
My dogs just eat the water. I would take the dog on a 1 to 3 mile jog. This will drain his nervous energy. Then take him around people. The dog will be in a more mellow state. When the dog does good, reward him. I like using frozen carrots because it won't make them fat and it reminds them of snapping bone. Snapping bone, satisfies their primal senses. I did this for two years and it help end my dogs fear aggression.
You need to make an appointment. They are very caring and loving. They are also the most reasonably priced place, cheaper than any vet. Yes they do cremation. The costs vary, depending on the size of your dog. So sorry about your fur baby.
Yes
Do you have contact info? I have kitty about 10months old. My wife has been sick for a few months and just found out she is allergic to cats. Now we are looking for a new home for this little fella.
What breeds are they? Have you tried contacting breed rescues?
They will only show adoptable pets on website as adoptable, animals picked up are on a different page. I'm not sure what the time frame is but think it might be a week before available for adoption. Sure it depends on the animal being chipped etc.
Yes, but you'd better call beforehand to reserve an area inside the building or outside before arriving.
You start out cleaning and later might be able to walk the dogs. It depends on what you want to do. You can list what you prefer on the application form.
There are all kinds of grants and special programs for low income seniors and disabled people call and talk to the animal friends of the valley shelter and there is a woman there that only looks for those kind of programs and grants .. call and check it out.. good luck
Yes they usually always have puppies, but sometimes getting a dog that's already a year to two years old is better because they're past the chewing stage. Although, senior dogs are great too and many still act like puppies
Do you mean chihuahua? It depends. If you are a senior they give you a discount. Call them!
Try to get there no later than 3:00 pm, as you need to find your new fur baby by 3:30. They close at 4:00. We are just heading into kitten season now. Please remember this is a kill shelter so you are saving a little life! Rescues make the breast pets. Nothing wrong with an full grown cat either!
They need cat and dog food and money helps!
They list it on their website. You passed the link, to get to this question and answer section. It is also listed, below the question and answer section.
Never hurts to ask them if you can come volunteer and read to the dogs. Most interaction with them is welcomed to help with their sanity and socialization. However, I'm not sure what they will allow our what they require in order for you to become a volunteer
cats are crazy creatures .. if in heat they will stay gone til heat cycle is over .. and then return like they were never gone.. hope you find her or she returns ..
Look online every day go to all the local shelters with a flyer that has a recent picture and description and how to get a hold of you. Also go to all of the veterinary clinics/hospitals in the area. Many times good Samaritans will go to the nearest veterinary clinic/hospital to have the pet scanned for a microchip. Also, if your dog has a chip report it to the chip company and they can fax out a lost flyer to all of the clinics as a keep an eye out announcement. You can also put up a post on any Facebook page for lost and found pets in your area. There are a lot of good people out there willing to keep an eye out for your pup, they just need to know what exactly they're looking for. When you call in to AFV try to give a really detailed description including collar color, name tag design/what it says, and anything that would distinguish it as the pup you're looking for. Best of luck, I hope you're reunited soon!!!
Not sure
No
In sure they do
Gateway is where they animals go to be cremated when they are euthanized. The owners can choose to ask for ashes from their pet if they like.
Give them a call and ask about grants, depending on your situation they may be able to help, or direct you to someone who can.
Yes there is a night drop available
Teresa, reach out directly to animal friends. They should be able to lend some assistance. If not, send me a message and ill see what i can do!
That information is on their website. It says: DOGS -25lbs. MALES $60 FEMALES $80
My dogs have been picked up twice and both times fees were different. Depends on stuff like if current on license, shots, etc. Best bet just go in and see the staff is very helpful.
Meaning your pet needs euthanasia or are you asking about cats they have received? They have quarantine areas for sick animals, and vets to treat them. Euthanasia is not their first step.
Yes!! They also have days when the kids can go and read to the animals.
n
No.
They have a spay/neuter clinic. But its not at the shelter. Call them to get directions to that facility
I don't know when, but there are time frames during the year where they offer free spay/neuter. But there are restrictions to that. You would need to contact them for details.
3 dogs
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10am-4pm; Wednesday 10am-7pm; closed on Sundays
