Went their for years. This was not only a horse and animal sanctuary, but also my sanctuary. I love that ranch. The horses are better cared for than the place I paid to board my horse. I always looked forward to being there. The owners are true animal lovers.

We frequent Oak meadows ranch often and have done so for a couple years now with the kids and love to feed the horses. After attempting to visit today with my kids we were approached by a female who presented herself as the owner and she was not very welcoming at all. I have seen her on the property in the past but have always spoken with a gentleman who I believe to be her husband. He has explained to us the rules for visiting the ranch and feeding the horses carrots(considering I called ahead to get the rules prior to ever visiting). But this lady was extremely rude and said we were not welcome. To be specific she told my 4 year old she didn't care if he was sad he couldn't feed the horses. She proceeded to say that it was private property and should she just welcome herself to my property and home. I explained to her my property did not state on the gate as hers did "Visitors Welcome". The gentleman also explained in the past we were welcome as long as there was sun cause once sun down there is electric fences powered by solar. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day but I was extremely caught off guard by her behavior. We have been coming here the last couple years we love to feed the horses and always leave a donation without any problems. However after today's encounter we will NOT be back and are very sad of this out come. It was not necessary to be so rude!!!

My family has been affliated with Oak Meadows Ranch for a few months. It has become a great place for my boys to learn about "ranch life" and learn how to be around horses. The owners have welcomed us with open arms and appreciated all the help we have provided. It is a win/win situation for all involved. I am so thankful a place like this exists, not only for the rescued animals, but for the opportunity to be involved. There is a lot to be done on the ranch and volunteers are needed! It has become a place that fills me up, gives me purpose, and allows me to be around gentle giants. I am so happy to have found such a special place. Running such a large place requires many helping hands. The more people give of their time and positive energy, the more this already special place, will become even more spectacular!

Honestly. I've been going to this ranch since the beggining of the year, I started sponsoring one or two months after working here. I was promised I would work with my horse and ride after I finish with my couple of free groundwork lessons. From their previous trainer, I only got to work with my horse two times. Once there was a new trainer I only worked with her one time and than switched sponsor horses after. When trying to choose my next sponsor horse I calmly a politely asked how old the horses I was allowed to choose were. The reason I wanted to know is because I don't want a old horse that I'll ride and bond with and be told I won't be able to ride it anymore. Anyways after asking the trainer rudely yelled at me saying it doesn't matter, to me it does matter because older horses have more problems than younger horses do. I've payed for three months and over that time, only got to do groundwork three times and never got to ride. They are getting free labor and 100 bucks and I barely get to take my horse out. I can get two rides in a month for 100 dollars for 3 hours each where I'm paying a hundred dollars a month to WORK. I don't mind doing stalls and feeding but when I'm paying to ride a work with my horse, I expect to get my money's worth. Loved this ranch until I saw their true colors, rude and dishonest. I want my 300 bucks back please.
