if you just want to go up to the observation deck, no you just need to buy tickets, if you want to have a meal at the five sixty restaurant, then you have to make a reservation.

Depends on what you're looking to do there. Reservations are recommended if you plan to enjoy a meal. Formal attire is also recommended and budget shouldn't be a concern.

They charge you to go up in the tower no matter if you go to the restaurant or not, but the view of Dallas is worth every penny. I believe going at night time you get the best views of Dallas.

The best view of the fireworks is not from inside the tower itself. The best vantage point is where you can see Reunion and all the other buildings lit up for the event. Across the Trinity on the levee is a good place.

Yes of course anyone can go up with tennis shoes and shorts to eat hamburgers and hotdogs at the snack bar on the lower floor of the sphere. If you want to dress up with a at least a collar shirt and nice shoes, not tennis shoes they will let you into the Gourmet restaurant. Both floors gyrate clockwise 360° in exactly one hour so you will see the entire city from your seat without moving. It's a fantastic view! I recommend it at sunset. Be sure to get there before because they close at 9 p.m.

If you go to the Geo-deck which is a revolving restaurant above the observation deck floor, that's something which is fun and a wonderful experience and you would enjoy it. On the observation deck you can get a 360 view of Dallas which is nice . Apart from that there are some touch screens in the observation deck to give you the details of the other attractions in Dallas. Those are informative and not much fun. There's also a big touch screen in which you can put your own information about where you are etc and it will display on the screen. If you enjoy this then that's fun too.
