My kids were patients of Dr. Yaeger's for 16 years. We love Dr. Yaeger with an undying love and the nursing staff was always great. We only left because the kids grew up!

We have been going to POD for almost 3 years now, but as of yesterday we will no longer be patients. My son had a wellness check (fully covered by insurance). When talking to the doctor I mentioned we had already been to an urgent care on the weekend 8 days ago for an ear infection so I already know about a possible ear infection (so again we already knew about this). Doctor was great and said he’d call in an Rx just in case we needed it since his ears still looked infected. We were there for a wellness visit only, BUT when I got to front office I had a copay. I asked why and the front office said “because the doctor found an ear infection we can charge for a sick visit too.” Umm what? In the past if we had a wellness visit but the doctor found something during the visit he could help with, we were never charged twice. Unfortunately I had to leave for another appt but afterwards called their billing office to discuss. The billing office was very rude telling me I didn’t understand, that no they weren’t charging 2 visits and it was only a little up charge (but yet it was confirmed I was charged for a sick visit and a well visit at the same visit). I specifically asking billing office “Am I being charged for a wellness visit?” They said yes. I also said “Am I also being charged for a sick visit?” They said yes. I then said “so I’m being charged for 2 visits at a single visit”, to which the billing office staff kept telling me no and I didn’t understand. I told the billing office this made me feel as though the office was adding extra charges just because they could and they billing office told me I was making assumptions, I was wrong, and was I just calling to be frustrated. No, I’m calling for answers and to know why I had to pay a copay at a well visit that is fully covered by insurance. I then asked to be transferred to get my kids records because this was very disheartening and the billing office responded with “good! Great! But I can’t do that”. This is a lie because they have a specific option/line on their answering machine for record requests. When I was asking why I couldn’t be transferred the billing office said “nope” and hung up on me. I tried calling back multiple times asking to be transferred back to the billing office and 14 times I was sent to voicemail. Finally the office manager called me back. I will say Mrs. Barnett the office manager was wonderful. She treated me like a person and validated my concerns. That’s all I wanted and Mrs. Barnett is incredible at her job. I didn’t want to be talked down to or told I didn’t understand or hung up on. I just wanted an explanation that made sense. Billing office told her I was just given a “little upcharge” to try and subside my questions, but this was false because I paid a full sick visit deductible today. Then they came back and said it was a “legal issue” because of law changes, which is also false because I called my insurance yesterday, as well as 2 other pediatric offices asking procedure of coding in this situation. Ultimately I realized, I will feel reluctant to ever ask questions or take my kid in for a well visit there due to fear of being over charged and charged twice. We are patients, not an opportunity to get as much money as possible. My husband and I discussed last night and after how I was treated and hung up on by the business office specifically, we will be going to a new pediatrician. This is disappointing for me because I had hoped to be with Dr. Neely for all 3 of my kids through their teen years, but their billing office specifically has made us go else where.

When I first arrived to the appointment we had a wonderful doctor. The next appointment we had a different doctor, and then another different doctor. The last one does not seem to like me asking questions. Also we had set our insurance up and was waiting for the policy number but this place demanded we pay today or that they would not be taking care of my son and release his medical records. Please do not put your kid through this place. We will not be returning.

I am not sure but I do know that if you call and ask to speak to the business office they are so sweet and will answer any questions you might have. I just love this whole office!
