Best shelter, I have visited. I got my dog from here! I highly recommend. There was a minor complication but not big enough to stop anyone from going to this shelter. Dogs are typically $49. I highly highly highly recommend, buying your pet from here.

Just spoke with an officer tonight and she was absolutely rude. I was wanting an update on the animal abuse case and she unhung up on me. I guess she was annoyed. She probably shouldn't be working there. She had the night shift 10pm on 10/10/22. I believe her last night was Parka. Doesn't sound like she gave me the correct info. She wouldn't give me her badge # either.

They do the best they can considering the vast amount of pet owners who feel like their animals are disposable and can be dumped off at a shelter when they are done with them. My only complaint is I've been looking for to adopt a shelter dog and I clicked their website button that says click if interested in this pet and basically its meaningless, ive gotten no response. Ive also visited the shelter twice and the staff are not hugely interested in visitors looking for certain animals from the website... or really helping at all. I'd have loved to take a dog in a room to sort of get to know it, but finding anyone to help you is rough.

I made it there slightly after closing time and they were still able to help me with my dog. Thank you!
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
Yes. There's usually only a wait if the hasn't been spayed/neutered yet. But if you go there in person, meet a dog you like, fill out paper work and pay the adoption fee you get to home with them the same day.
Honestly, in my experience, adopters do not get the pledge money. Most pledges only go towards rescues, when the animals are "pulled" to safety. I've adopted dogs with pledges (not for the money, that'd be messed up) and never got anything. Also, most the time, people will "pledge" in comments, but when the dog is out the shelter they never stay true to those pledges. You'd honestly be better off just earning the $400 fee yourself, or even starting a "fund me" type campaign.
I'm guessing you mean a having a filter on the search engine, right? That's a good idea! It would also be nice if they allowed people to filter by gender as well.
Click on the animal button on www.fortworthtexas.gov. website. Then click on view adoptable pets
Best to call or go there and check
http://fortworthtexas.gov/animals/
No cobraran. pero los bacunas No estan carro..and robin honaker if you dont understad just dont help there no need to be ugly.
Definitely call 392 1234 and get it on record
The Fort Worth animal shelter on Martin Street is working hard to become "no kill". This time lastt year they would euthanize daily. Now it is rarely. It's not totally there yet, but with the communities help it won't be much longer that we can proudly call ourselves a no kill shelter. Fyi, there is no time limit to be adopted. As long as there is room and no serious illness or injury, they will keep until adopted. As for fees all dogs are $49 to adopt the urgent dogs are $25.
Find an animal hospital
I am not sure when the next class is, but I would suggest that you go to the shelter in person to speak to someone at the front counter, call or go to their website for more information.
But beware they are pretty full and an owner surrender can be put down immediately. If you want to ensure that he's not put down schedule a drop off appointment with the humane society of North Texas instead. It may be a month or two before they can get you in but your dog has a much better shot.
Just talk to the staff about protocol
Get a trash bag and dispose of it in your garbage that's about all you can do
Check their website, visit all the shelters
They had lots of puppies when I was there
You can go down east Lancaster up there by the veterinarian office up the second hill if coming from beach street coming from like down town fort worth it would be the first hill righ across from Salvation Army the building is on your left are u can go inside hurman society and ask them they will tell u where it'sand get a voucher and you don't have to pay nothing to get your cat fixed GOD BLESS I HOPE I HELP U OUT
Just walk in, with a temperature check.
Yes It Will
What you need for what exactly?
No fee to return the dog we accept our dogs back
Rachel cox cats are always 25$no matter what they look like unless there is a special event (mayors birthday)
Yes adoption fees are 49 $ we are open 12-6
If it is your cat and is friendly with a valid id with and proof you live in the city
Normally the kittens once they are adoptable are sent to PetsMart over off of Hulen I beleive. Hopefully someone can help clarify if I am correct or not.
Shasha, You can ask FWACC about how "fosters" are counted with respect to the city ordinances. I'd also encourage you to reach out to some Fort Worth based rescue groups for advice on how they're keeping more than 3. My city allows 4 and then you need a breeder's permit - strange as rescue dogs and cats are always spayed or neutered, so how could they breed? LOL The biggest problem once you clarify how to keep all 8 will be noise control, keeping the barking to a minimum amount and also keeping the poop picked up for showing the dogs are in a sanitary environment. Little things make a difference. I commend you and your family for keeping the dogs while combining households, far too many owner surrendered dogs and we know how full the shelter is. Reply back if you want help finding anything else out, glad to help. I love all dogs!
Yes u can
Think if you go up there they will give you some traps
That is probably the best option, then it can be adopted again. But to be absolutely sure call them.
Yes they do the pets that are adoptable already have their shot most of the time.
I was there yesterday and they had a few that matched that description
Go to the shelter on Martin Street and drop them off
I was told they euthanize dogs to make space for new arrivals. I think there should be a better way too.
Yes in kennel 2
I'm sorry I do not have the information regarding hiring age. But I would imagine you would have to at least have a high school diploma/GED. You should call them because I believe they are hiring. Go for it!
Sally, what type of support letter? If we know we may be able to better help you.
Post pictures of him on FB and all the forums including pet boost!! People actually help in the search. Hope he has a chip that's the first thing any one will check. Lastly go to all the local area shelters, there are multiple! Start with closest to you. The are open noon to 6 pm
Call local Animal control.
We don't not euthanize cats unless they are extremely injured or ill. We also do not use gas or put a time limit on an animal. Most friendly surrendered cats are adopted quickly.
We do not do reservations
Honestly I'm not affiliated with this agency. I'm a citizen who has done some research. As to what their protocols are, I would ask the hardworking people who are employed in that code enforcement facility. Ft. Worth's shelter is very pro life and is considered to be a progressive facility. There are facilities in other cities that have very grim policy. Ft. Worth is fortunate in many ways, our animal shelter facility is one of them. Excellent question.
If you know what kind of dog he/she was then you can just call them and ask them about the dog
This shelter is definitely a no kill shelter. The animals there are treated kindly, fed properly, recieve plenty of exercise, moreover individual attention. I am in no way affiliated with the city, however I'm proud to be a resident of Ft. Worth. The professional attitudes from the good people running this shelter can serve as a good example as to why. I hope this helps. Please be advised that :There is no official body that hands out 'no kill' certifications, so the term is self-appointed to animal shelters and rescue groups. ... It means healing the animals who can be healed, treating behaviours that can be treated, and prioritising safety and high quality of life for both pets and all animals. Another variable to factor in is one of the main reasons our city has this Dept. is to primarily protect the citizens of our fair city.
25$ for cats 49$ for dogs under 50 pounds. Dogs over 50 pounds are free
If you give them a call. They will go out and trap.
I would guess that means that any holds placed on the animal are lifted and it is available for adoption.
I'm sorry, I don't know. I just picked up my lost dog.
Yes
Just go down there during normal business hours. Not going to be able to adopt a dog by phone.
Depends on if the dog is being fostered through the shelter or through a rescue. If through a rescue you'd need to contact the rescue. If pup is in fostered through the shelter, then you'd contact the shelter.
I really don't know. I went there looking for an older Terrier that was abandoned winter before last. I saw to his needs for over a year , but he had trust issues. I saw him everyday for over a year , then he disappeared for 5 days , along with two other dogs. I was gonna bail him out but never found him. My heart is sooo sick.
Ft Worth Animal care& Control ( 817 ) 392-1234. Sorry for the delay, I'm still trying to recover emotionally.
Sorry, I don't. Check with the shelter every week. Look on line
Yes, that is true. I adopted a German Shepherd on March 4th and no fee's.
They, like someone else already mentioned, don't give shots, but will recommend a reliable and reasonable source to do it
You're probably better taking it to a vet to check for a chip. Might save you some time if all of its shots are registered, plus you will know if there is a family somewhere tripping. I am not certain, but if you take him/her to the shelter they might could check for a chip, but you also may be looking at surrendering for a mandated period of time and paying to walk away the same you came in, but I may be wrong.
Yes you can set an appointment ahead of time and go up there and they will take your dog again get it it's shots and bring it right back out to you
Yes they do!
Yes they definitely do!
Yes but I think they have to be accompanied by a parent until they are 16.
I would go there. Rescues work with the animal control maybe they sent the pup to a rescue for rehoming
I've been told no minors for safety reasons.
Sign-up on fortworthtexas.gov/animals. Melanie is the volunteer coordinator and she would be happy to see you.
You can go there or call to find out if your cat was picked up.
Yes they can
Yes
I hope the new family is good with him.
Yes we will just bring them here
Whichever, if you want shelter to pick him up he has to be confined in a safe place, they don't like waisting there time chasing after a stray.
I like it because they cater very well to the animals 😍
Go on to the website. And look for suscribe. And it'll send you the information about possible adoptions.
Yes ma'am we went there yesterday and asked my husband those questions and of course he had his mask on. He got to see all those beautiful creatures all big and small ❤️🖤💓
Call 8173921234 and have them put in a case
Go back to the shelter and get them. They aren't supposed to give you the animal without papers.
If you dropped the dpg off and it was adopted I do not believe they can give you the new owners information. I would call the shelter.
I don't understand
you would have to go up there to find out
If you are adopting a pet from the shelter, I believe you agree to have them neutered as part of the adoption process. Sorry. You can always go to a breeder but that is $$$$$
It would matter how long you've had the animal and some reason s
What city are you in? And do you have other pets? Because there is a limit to how many pets you are allowed per city regulations. They have to be registered up to date on shots etc. And the city asks for proof of registration and of vaccinations as well. Also you can't have pets without having them spayed or neutered. You have to be approved per the city and you have to have permits to have any animal that isn't spayed or neutered etc. Also why are you wanting so many pets for? Pets aren't a gift they're a lifelong commitment. Lifelong as the pets life. And pets are expensive for vetting medical check ups etc. Pets arent cheap to have. My other question is. It appears your in corpus Christi texas. So why are you searching hrs away from your city to adopt? Are you not allowed to adopt or have animals or adopt from local shelters? Is there a reason why you're searching so far out of your area for multiple pets?
If you have her paper work that shelter should have given you dated and the vets paper work dated receipt from all the damage, you can report it to authority, & sue for lying selling you an aggressive dog.
Emergency services will be open but the site itself will not. The sites at PetSmart will be open though. Hope that helps
We maintain a live release rate of over 90%. Our current rate for this fiscal year is 96% and was 94% for last fiscal year.
Yes. Got to www.fortworthtexas.gov\animals then scroll down to volunteer with animals
They have to pay staff, get animals spayed/neutered at the vet, feed them and pay a mortgage. $50 is cheap.
Call 817-392-7031 and they will help you.
Yes they're open on Sundays and dogs over 30 lbs have been giving away free very good. Some very good dogs
For the most part , it is not. Think it is over 95% of animals find a new home.
Call 817 392 7071
We need help fostering animals even though power has been partially restored
No. You dont have to pay to take an animal to the shelter. They are there to help.
Free spay and neuter is provided by Spay Neuter Network for Fort Worth residents. You will need to make an appointment with them. The shelter does not provide this service on privately owned animals.
I don't know how to answer in Spanish but I think you have 72 hours to get your pet This link has the answer in English and a phone number to call. If you need more help, someone probably speaks Spanish. I'm sorry I can't help anymore. http://fortworthtexas.gov/animals/fees/
Also is there any cost for the adoption?
They will but be prepared to wait a few hours as they are extremely busy
Yoi have to watch for the announcement..they have dogs on what is called a "red code" list which you can find on their site...i believe those babies are $10 and need good homes
49.00 dollars for most dogs. Free for Veterans
You might be able to call animal control, but I'm not sure...can't hurt to ask. Barring that, an Uber ride might work
Its best to drop them at the humane society or find local cat groups there are tons that will take them and foster them
Animal control shelter or 911
There should be a non emergency number for fort Worth and you can call them and ask them to come remove it.
Just go and look. They really cannot tell you what they are. It takes a DNA test. Be prepared to give the dog a few weeks to adjust. It's stressful on them. Be prepared to not get what you thought too. Maybe bigger or a different color than you planned it to be unless you get it grown.
If I had to guess I would say no I'd say no because they don't deal with strays The kitten at that age is bottle feed Staff isn't at Shelter 24/7 They have operating hours You'd probably be better off finding a rescue and a foster So kitten could be bottle fed and then Adopted out
I think they open at noon! Check the schedules. Take your pet and say that it will be delivered and that way it gives your pet another chance.
Yes. This is animal control. You will need to call before driving out.
You can check online to see what is available But they also have dogs in areas where you can't walk through without a volunteer or staff member with you. They also have dogs outside in kennel runs too. And back in intake. Best bet is to go in person. There are 3 locations though The main shelter location off Martin street. And they have 2 off-site locations One at PetSmart near alliance airport in fort Worth and one at PetSmart off Hulen road Online And it will tell you online which location each animal is located at http://fortworthtexas.gov/animals/dogs/
You can make flyers up with pictures and information on the dog and post at the FWACC and other animal shelters within fw . I would call fort Worth today when they open at noon and ask them. They have suggestions. I would also go up to fort Worth and do it daily to walk around and view all the dogs to see if yours is there. Does your dog have a chip? Chip in your name? How long ago did youe dog get out?
No
Animal control
Contact the people in charge of your community first. Make them aware of the issue; since you lease the common areas( anything outside of your apartment ) is the responsibility of the community. If you see no resolution, then contact animal control. Take pictures and videos as evidence of animal activity.
As long as you have a valid id and the dogs are in the city limits
wanting a brownLabradoodle puppy
I followed the site on Facebook and viewed their site from there. I became a foster for them and mainly shared their urgent list via FB. I'm sure if you go to their site you should have access to the pets available for adoption.
If wrecker Co. doesn't help contact police department request assistantence or contact Humane Society on Martin St. If in FT Worth and ask to speak to the liason you can also find information at water department they can connect you with animal control, good luck
Simply take your dog there and they will helo you.
12-6pm 7 days a week unless it is city a holiday.
We are a public clinic ... you have to take it to and from a veteran ... look for one that does not charge so much ...
We do not do that here but we can refer you to a little or no cost spay/neuter
Call the aspca and they will take care of it
I'm pretty sure they will. But call first to make sure that someone is there that can accept your donation. If it is a used kennel and metal sterilize it first if it is plastic you might want to call first to see if they will accept a plastic kennel because I don't think you can totally sanitize those
Your question did not get completely posted. But, if i understand what you're asking. The fee for cats and kittens, (not sure about fee for dogs) is normally $25.00. However, for military the fee is waived. You need to tell them that you are either active or a veteran, if that applies.
12-6 daily 4900 martin st
No fee. Why would u leave them behind? U know they're very likely 2 b separated if they r adopted. Worse yet they could b injured by other dogs that aren't friendly. Is there any way 4 u 2 keep them?
12-6daily
Dallas is offering free cat and dog adoptions this month
If u r a veteran u can adopt 1 for free.
There alot of places out here doing free shot and chips now as for as his nails goes you can take him to the groomers and they can do just his nails that doesn't cost much
The rabies shot is $5.00 on Tuesday afternoons about 5pm. If you live in Fort Worth they will want you to register your dog. Its free if they are spayed or neutered and microchipped. Oh and have been seen by a vet. 12+ if a vet hasn't seen it. Or the humane society on East Lancaster has cheap shots i think its the first saturday of every month. The clinic is hidden behind the cat building. Call to be sure.
Depends on when u gave him up. He may have already been adopted out. Let me know if u get him back.
Ticket for noise complaints
$10 until the end of June
Not directly but you can come up and get information for little or no cost spay and neutering
See earlier reply. Sorry for your loss..
No, if the puppy leaves without being spayed or neutered, you have to sign a paper stating you will get it done within 30 days. If you don't, they will take you to court. Puppies very rarely leave there without the surgery. They do it usually before a puppy goes into adoptions
Yes you can adopt a dog go down to the shelter they close at 6pm and open at 12pm
As other reviewer said, go to farm and ranch store, or even Petsmart possibly
Yes, we take good care of all of our animals
Not at this hour bring it in to us in the am
They should now be deemed dangerous animals and owners are responsible for all your medical bills and pain and suffering. If they own a home file a complaint with homeowners or get a lawyer. The city should have them deemed dangerous and they are required to carry a huge insurance policy. If sent to pound usually animals deemed dangerous are euthanized. Being attacked like that is horrible. You need to sue them. It has cost you financially and mentally. I’m not litigious but this is not ok.
Unless you have the room, I don't think so. Fort Worth Council says you need 5000 square feet per goat. That includes sheep miniature horses and goats.
Where ever you are call your nearest shelter. Or if they are friendly. Or post fliers
Yup shelter only goes when you have the animal confined in a safe place, they don't want to waist their time chasing after strays or get hurt.
They might not give her back. If she makes it to the adoption floor, you'll have to readopt her. If get her this weekend while the fees are $10.
My suggestion is you bring her to the animal shelter or as others suggested a low cost animal clinic for evaluation
You can request euthanization.. But once u owner surrender animal to the shelter it is ours.. Our choice. Whether we euthanize or send to an rescue.. Maybe even foster to live out last days.. If you would like more info please come in and we can better decide what is best for the animal..
Also Put Newest Pic & Last Seen Location. Post on ALL DOG Social Media for Ur Area. Praying U find Ur 🐕
Shelters like this get all kinds of animals, sexes and ages.It is best to go in person to find the one that fits your lifestyle.
The humane society accepts pets whose owners surrender them. They will kill them though if not adopted so think carefully if it is something you are responsible for and can fix like teaching kids to respect pets. Also don't go in saying it's an aggressive dog if the kids caused the poor animal to protect itself or reacted in pain.
You may call in address for an officer to do an welfare check.. Can't be safe or healthy for the animal.. Or owner
You can visit their website to see all current animals available for adoption.
U have to have a ID or Drivers lic. and a water bill or somthing with you address on it.
Yes you can but they are full so why not try to regime it with a small fee
You can go bring in found dogs. Also, if you wish, and they prefer, you are allowed to register it as found and keep it at home until owner is found. If you wish. It helps bc theres not alot of room!
Yes
