The humane society accepts pets whose owners surrender them. They will kill them though if not adopted so think carefully if it is something you are responsible for and can fix like teaching kids to respect pets. Also don't go in saying it's an aggressive dog if the kids caused the poor animal to protect itself or reacted in pain.
Simple answer is yes. However, what was your grandchild doing that caused the dog to bite? Has the dog been spayed or neutered? How serious was the bite(s)? You need to know the answers if you intend to owner surrender and be completely honest. This will determine if the dog will be put down, or offered for rescue so it can be rehabilitated and rehomed.
Yes ,by State of Texas Law you must report an animal bite to the local Rabies Authority (them for Fort Worth) they will discuss quarantine with you at that time.
