Only place to stay at if u need shelter but not to long ....
Tina Peters
It's a great place that is helping people but it's not a safe place to work
Some One
My stepson is mentally ill and the place that he's at may be sending him here. I just had Bell go off. Looking at the reviews, and now any reviews on Google, I see 4 and 5 star reviews form people that have submitted reviews for other places. When somebody post to four or five-star review and they have 80 reviews of other places, there might be a good chance they are not homeless. Or maybe they just became homeless? But I would suggest anytime you check out a review on Google to click on that person's name and see what else they were viewed. One 5 star is from a staff member, well of course they will submit a 5 star review. I don't know alot about this place, but you should check out the person that is leaving a review by clicking on their photo.
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
No but if you have a lien on your vehicle like from a bank. You can sign a promise to pay and get your vehicle back as long as it was not impounded by the police. In arizona it's against the law to harbor mortgaged p tg property.
Come as you are. The earlier the better. You don't need to bring anything
Just come as early as possible.
Don't... This place will make your life worse than it already is. Getting services is a full time job here. Thats if you don't get sick or stabbed by some crazy psycho here. Staff and mrsa infections run ra pant as well. Find a family member or a friend to help you for a bit.
I would not consider it When decided to do some volunteer work I thought that CASS would be an ideal place to volunteer with. And I was rather appalled by the behavior of the staff not only towed each other but also towards the very people that they are supposed to be watching our for man handing
Not as such. They accept on a first-come-first-served basis. While they serve both men and women, it is important to keep in mind that beds become available at different times for each as men and women sleep in separate areas.
Please be at cass homeless shelter in the mornings 7:30- 11:00 n 12:30 to 4:00 Monday through Friday an they can help you get wat ever documents or anything u need like ur I'd an xcetera
Go early and speak to someone
Mon thru fri 8 to 11 and 1 to 3.. There r exceptions but check with them on that..valid exceptions.
They have men's and women's beds but they are separate.
I believe the quickest it would be would be 30 to 90 days
Yes they give you 90 days. But if you find employment within those 90 days and haven't gotten approved for an apartment yet or your having trouble finding one, they'll give you an extension as well as help you find housing. Once you get approved they'll help you with 500 towards your move in costs. It might not be where you want to be, but it's truly a BLESSING ! They also have other services that'll help you get on your feet as well ( job search, medical, deposit assistance, etc. )
Yes, there is a housing plan program.
ƈǟֆֆ is a good place to go sit down and talk to them and they will point you in the right direction
They sleep in the shelter buildings on mats and bunkbeds
Yes
232 s 12th ave Phoenix, AZ 85007
Mhm, yep
reviews are bad on shelters for famines. me n my kids need somewhere yo go. we hv no car
They don't have a public restroom. You have to be admitted to use their restroom in the shelter. They have numerous restrooms and bathrooms to be used. The easiest to use would be in the Welcome Center, outside the gate. Before 3 PM, no one outside of level 3 is allowed in the shelter. Only after 3 PM.
Nicole, I am so apologizing for this, i wasn't able to gather more accurate imformation. You might better off looking into family shellter for mothers with children
Maybe you should go to the info center and ask.
Never heard of that..(NO)
DES is on property in the LDRC building from 8am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. You must go to the counter and sign up then wait for your name to be called. However, don't expect a wait like other DE$ offices, it's a very quick process at this particular site. Good luck!
Depends on where you are now and what your resources are! Please give some idea of same
Be there early, befor 8 prolly because they only do it in the a.m. as far as i know
Go to the welcome center. Also try Teen Challenge if he has addiction issues.
No they do not or not for families i lived there awhile back one side for men on side 4 women then the parking lot for people who don't want to stay inside then a building for men only but there's your answer
Magdalena honestly you probably shouldn't come here but as the last option there's 500 plus people, all on the street, there's fighting, cussing, drugs and alcohol. Not many people have a chance without a job....I pray to find somewhere to live soon....
No. You can stay for four months. They will help you get a job and an apartment.
No men on one side and Women in the other side Same building...
We start taking in clients for beds at 6pm. Best to be in line early like 5pmish
Suicide prevention is your best bet. You will have to visit Cass for intake if you need a bed.
Raymond, Shelters here are all overcrowded. You will end up living in a tent outside the shelter trying to get in. I know of only one Mens Shelter and it is very difficult to get into it due to the amount of people in need. You should not use all that you have to come here. Please remember that we are in the absolute hottest time if the year with major monsoons. It is very, very dangerous to be on the streets this time of year. We can easily go over 115 degrees for days on end...
No vouchers...you can stay on the girls side at CASS. While here you can apply for benefits that will help you get in a place eventually. They have beds available in the ladies gym. No instant fix from homelessness
Take him to a shelter
Yes
Never any guarantee of a bed
It is first come, first serve. They start taking clients at 7:30 AM, so lining up before then is best. It really depends on how many beds open up the night before, so there's no concrete answer. If you cannot get a bed in the morning, lining up after 8 PM to 10PM can be an option but is even less of a guarantee of placement.
Yes
At the welcome center from 7:30 to noon, Monday through Friday. If you were born out-of-state, the Andre House on 11th Ave and Madison will likely be more helpful.
I believe it's because it's a homeless shelter which has a rule that the campus ID is what is required to prove you stay there.
You have to be working in order to get that privilege.plus there's no door so there's really no privacy and it's 1 person per cubical
The mail office closes before 3pm
CASS is on the Human Services Campus! The address for the Human Services Campus is 232 S 12th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85007. You can use that as your address, as you can receive mail at the Welcome Center! You can come to the Welcome Center in the morning and request a bed at CASS, and they will set you up with an intake the same day. I hope this helps! 😊
André HOUSE
I wouldn't do that
You have to go there and register and request a bed. 230 s 12th Avenue, Phoenix.
Great place to stay if you really want to start from new
5pm the welcome center closes then . I work there so my info is accurate.
The staff happily provides refrigeration for medical needs.
Yes Please bring them to the welcome center 232 s 12th ave. Phoenix they can help you there.
They did have a dental clinic there. Brighter way dental. They are fantastic! I slipped on a marble floor in a court house, ran into a metal stall and knocked half a tooth out. They did a beautiful job fixing it. You must be a CASS resident to receive free dental there. I'm pretty sure they will help with your needs as well. Got to be very patient as they are booked solid all the time. Do not miss any of your scheduale appointments, or they will drop you. Good luck!
Lots of rules..... Must be in by 8pm can't leave till 5am unless you have a job. They have a late list for people that have a job working late. During the day you can go on and off campus when you like you can't get in to Cass from 7am to 330pm the have a day room you can sit in during the day but it is full all the time hard to find a seat. The will serve meals 3 times a day. No sharp objects no glass no liquor no drugs. They wake you up at 6 am and lights out 10pm. ☹️
7am 1130am and 5
You may find a way to get that pulled but by the time you figure that out it may have come out on it's own or stopped hurting by then unless you get real lucky. They do great work and are some of the best I've seen. But it may take awile and it is best to make appointments then keep them and people are happy if the show up on time and keep going a lot of no shows is what dentist told me. Also once sitting a ways away down the walk a dentist asked to clean my teath. He said "No one came to their appointment today could I come in at least get an exam and cleaning. So I said sure at no charge of course I did. It was ver profesional I got good service by professionals and very impressed gets five star rating from me. The dentist was next door to medical back then in around 2004 I was only in the dentist office a few times a long time ago I'm not sure of latley
That depends on how much you can put up with
Help with housing and have a place called Justa Center for 55 and over people to go to also have a Veteran liaison there as well
Talk to your case manager
Yes there is dental there for anyone however there is a 70$ fee for them to do anything to help,IF you dont have insurance. If you have good insurance it shouldn't be a problem, but it's not like Circle The City (homeless/low income doctor office)where it's free no matter what. Dental is NOT considered an emergency to them. You have to pay something most likely but still a little cheaper perhaps.
Cass only does single men and women no kids but there are family shelters out there. Call CASS and ask.
They let you park on the grounds, inside the fencing.
CASS is a homeless shelter and there is no guarantee of bed availability until the day you come and get in line with the others. Once you get a bed, they will try and set you up with housing. Again, no guarantees. Advise you crash with your family if at all possible! Good luck!
Yes they have showers brother, however you must get a bed first inside cass around 12 PM to 2 PM in order to use one at all. but! If you cant go through that process, andre house has showers just in and out. Just wait in line at andre house around 11 am
Not wise. Do not move without a job, no plan , no money. Don't do that unless you are in an abusive household.
That is a good question, and an excellent answer. Good job Elford! I would like to make an extension on his answer. St. Joseph's the worker is located in the LDRC Building on the CASS property. In which, yes, you will need a homeless ID to enter. At St Joseph's they have computer's to job search. Much like goodwill. If your successful in landing any leads, they will supply you with bus passes, and interview clothing, and shoes. In some cases, they will provide a bicycle, lock, work boots, and work tools if needed. They are eager to assist for thosewho are serious about finding employment. This also means that once employed, you will be advanced to level 3 in the main shelter. This means you may come and go as you please. I wish you all the best.
The only way would be to get a CASS ID and go look for the person. CASS isn't able to tell you if someone is there or not due to privacy issues
That depends on the progress that people are making towards getting housing. Generally it is 90 days. If people are showing progress towards housing. It can be extended towards hiysi g, it can be extended to 180 days
Your best bet is to go to the front gate. The security office is there.
Thanks waiting for them to get back
They will help you but not look for you
Handouts to most every organization in the valley, housing if qualified, shelter, clothing, and meals.
No closest place to fish and eat is lake mead.
It depends. They provide a list but do not offer financial help with this Check with CASS
Yes they do. Just go in together. You both will have separate quarters to sleep in. Everything you need to get in your feet is there for you.
They have beds for men an woman buts its like a waiting game to get a bed Im sleeping outside You need to get a cass id To go in the gates to eat to get medical and dental They help out with jobs an housing
IF they have one it would be at 5:00pm give or take and depending on what lvl you are
Yes they should..but get there at the time ur to check in to ensure a bed. B4 curfew.
Not really they wanted my entire social security check n I refused n left
No they don't. They give you an apt list only.
232 S 12th Ave. Phx, AZ 85003 Good luck!
You have to be 18 and have a state id and no CSC charge. And if you are under 18 and no state id. They can maybe tell you about a shelter that will take you
At just us center but they are probably full during the winter there isn't enough housing in Cass try salvation army on Watkins road its to the left of Cass the homeless shelter but please be careful if you have any money don't bring it down there there is no safe place other then your own bank .you will get robbed I did.
6 months
I stayed there I will warn u they don't clean the place black mold in showers they don't wash the sheets or towels
You will be okay.. just fine.
Overflow is closed
Yes - first they will get you a CASS ID. Then they will take all necessary steps to acquire birth certificates, social security cards and eventually a state ID. In the meantime, you will have a safe, warm place to lay your head and the process to find housing will begin. Good luck!
If you get a bed inside do not dress their bag and tag system they threw out a grand of electronics
Yes but watch out bedbugs n they don't wash sheets or towels
Your question is¿
It's 232 S 12th Avenue Phoenix AZ 85007
The shelter will not be able to help you out with that. But you can get a money order from circle K gas station
They do but i would recommend donating to a church as they are very unclean there
CASS is an adult only shelter. Families with children should contact Salvation Army. Also, the info contained in response from Cheryl Evans is far from accurate. I'm
As stated above, you can get help obtaining all the mentioned documents by going to the Brian Garcia Welcome Center which is on 12th Avenue prior to the guard gate. You can also start the process of obtaining a bed at the shelter should that be of interest to you. Good luck!
There is a parking lot but you have to go through a security gate to get in
I'm not referring to any kind of charges this is in general the shoe you have to leave by 7 and you can show back up to 3 p.m. no matter rain or shine I don't think that's Fair
They're trying to get the bed bugs out right now. and they don't let you have washing cloths unless you are level 3 . All the out side camping people are trying to get in now and that is how the bed bugs are getting in
No they do not. There are some organizations, like Church on the Streets, that go to CASS & pick you up & take you to church. But CASS itself doesn't take you anywhere.
Need clarification please.... involved how? As a volunteer, as a donor, as a client? Please advise.
So the CASS Homeless Shelter is located at or near 12th Ave & Jefferson St. The Valley Metro Transit system will get you or whoever to Downtown Phoenix Central bus station. From there the Dash Government city bus will drop off practically outside the shelter. A Arizona Licence or state ID is required. The best time to be at the shelter is 9am in order to get a bed.
Im sorry to hear that but they have plenty of resources here at campus and if you are needing a bed here on campus you need to call A.S.A.P(602( 256-6945 to try and get a bed also when you come down you need to stop at the welcome center which is open from 8-5 i believe and there is food provided on and off campus one dinning is called Andre house and St. Vincent de Paul's
There are multiple agencies that offer services on the campus. Some of them utilize volunteers such as the St Vincent de Paul dining room which serves breakfast and lunch to the clients. You may also be able to volunteer at Circle the City which offers medical care to the homeless. I suggest you come down here and spend some time talking to the different agencies.
Don't go there!
No
Take the zero bus.
Set free Ministries or Church on the streets both in Phoenix
If you on the rapid rehousing list it can take about a week. If not up to 6 months.
Ok so Cass is a great resource center.
Nothing just your state ID social security and that's all they also have a medical services
Yes go to the center mon thru fri morning and they can help u find temp jobs they did that for my friend
Q hat time do they eat breakfast
What kind of help does he need
Always
Yes but i don't think u can send mail i only used the service once
I think u can stay for 90 days i stayed there b4 and mine was 4 90 days but u need to get a id to let the guards know that u stay inside
Yes
Shes screwed... Learn to spell.
So you think putting him in a position to see drug addicts up close and homeless craziness will help him to obey. I dont wish Cass on anyone. Find another way to teach you son. Maybe if yiu send with a church who comes down on Saturday and Sunday
No
They only have family shelter at u mom but they have plenty of domestic violence shelters if you have been subject to that. I also hear that Watkins is reopening soon and they take family's. If you Google AZ. homeless shelters you will be able to find out more. Also phoenix is giving out housing vouchers right now. Get it while you can, they won't last forever.
Go to the welcome center and talk to them to get into CASS.
You have to actually be staying at CASS or any other homeless/Domestic Violence (DV) Shelter in order to receive dental services from this facility
Even if it was, I wouldn't do that to an animal... Most of the people in the program are less than animals with the drugs they're coming down on.
Cass may be able to help. They offer a shelter but i think families stay at another location. Either way call them or go to des and look up emergency funds. I believe every state.will supply you with funds to return to your home state or at least leave the state. Try going on gofundme and starting a donation for your family as well. God bless and good luck. Also try new leaf, they offer shelter i believe.
Cass is a joke very rude. Don't really help like a prison camp bathrooms filthy shower water cold. When you get out the shower you walking thru a small like of other people dirt then you move to level 3 no different except you don't to stand in line wow moving on up and some people get comfortable. Maybe that's how they always live.
I went there straight from prison my self to try to do the same thing. Honestly it's horrible there its so dirty there even when you get inside and get a bed there's drugs everywhere there I seen a man get stabbed outside by the entrance and no one helped him some of the security even watched I cried everyday I was there. It did however push me to get a job and get out of there as quick as I could I think I stayed there 2wks . I would only recommend this place if it's your absolute last option.
CASS curfew is 8:30p, unless you have arranged to be on the "late list" beforehand.
Go to 232 s 12th st phx before 2pm to get a bed at cass
Must go to Welcome Center.
If you have paperwork for your dog Cass homeless shelter will allow you to have your dog with you
If you mean are they able to sleep at night in the same bed the answer is NO. That is if you sign up for a bed within the shelter. But they still allow people to sleep outside on the actual campus grounds. If you chose to do this, sleep outside, then you can get away with sleeping together. But you'd have zero privacy and you're subject to the weather. If you have children you might try UMOM.
If you are asking about the building that had the asphalt parking lot next to it the answer is NO. Those are no longer used but, If you're asking if CASS now allows the homeless to sleep outside on the actual campus grounds. The answer is yes. With the large population of homeless it seems likely that CASS, at least, will continue to provide 'overflow' areas. Even if they would rather not.
You need to show up in person as early as possible.
I wouldn't chance taking my dog. If it shows any aggression they'll take it away or toss you all out.i think I only saw service dogs on the inside of the fenceline.
I wouldn't know, i can ask around
You must be homeless, and possess either a state-issued I.D., or driver's license.
Gates open a 6am Ldrc building opens at 730am
