We adopted a puppy here, My dad recently lost his best friend Lobo, we started our search for a new companion for my father, he is disabled and needs the four legged friendship. We went to the shelter in hopes of finding an older dog for my dad, but after looking at a few dogs we decided to look at the puppies, we found this very active, loving puppy who took right to my dad. I swear it was fate. The staff was amazing and very helpful. We are in love with our new family member. Very thankful that we got to give this pup a home, and he gave us all the love in the world.

I am so sad. We found the pup of our dreams but unfortunately due to stipulations with our dogs/child needing to meet her, we weren’t able to take her home before closing at 6:30pm. We left there at 6:30pm and were told they would put a hold on her until 11am the following day “per their two hour rule”… not even realizing they literally open at 11. We left during closing, and they only “held” her until they opened? Makes no sense. So we had a hold on her for two hours they were closed? Someone put her on hold shortly after 11am until 3:45 pm and eventually adopted her. We asked multiple people if they could extend this 2 hour rule so we could adopt her and bring in our family to meet her due to our work schedules conflicting with the 2 hr hold time and they refused and said there is no way. How exactly did they put a hold over 2 hrs on her for someone else? I understand they close from 2pm-3pm but even then the hours don’t align. If you all wanted to pick and choose the adopters, say that instead of going out of your way for one family and not the other rather than going by the “first come first serve” rule in place that was made VERY clear to us but obviously not others. When we voiced our concern of the longer hold time than ours the gentleman said, “yeah, I know. But call back and see if she’s been adopted.” You’re acknowledging the issue but not correcting the issue? There is also a known issue that there are too many dogs in the shelter but it isn’t fair that your staff picks and chooses who to bend and break the rules for based on a 30 minute meeting with someone rather than abiding by the “2 hour hold rule” for everyone. I’m happy that she hopefully found her forever home as this is the second time she’s been in the shelter. But in regards to your staff, do better for the animals sake.

how much would it cost for rabie shots for dolly and nail trim
Items must be clean and in good condition food in sealed containers items you you take there will be will be inspected and accepted or denied by the personnel at the center
They're a non-kill shelter, so I'm not sure if they will but definitely call them and ask, if they can't help then they can refer you to somebody who can
16 by yourself, 10 if your parent volunteers with you.
Go to the Washoe country regional animal services they are right next door to them they can help
Is washoe county a service
It is about 40$-60$ I THINK....some events though they do it for free. But if you adopt they fix them before you are allowed to take them
Hi! Im so happy to hear you are interested in Fudge! She is a very sweet old girl who deserves a good home. Anyway. Fudge is available for adoption. If you want to come in and meet her you can. The hours are 11 am to 6 pm. Ask the front desk for info about fudge. And ask if you can visit her. They will take her to a room with you to see you guys bond. Let me know if you adopt! ,Lizzy
Go on by or give them a call and they can get you some help.
The fee for surrender is $25. They require an appointment. Also if you can’t afford all the vet stuff, they do it all and then adopt them out for $50 which is crazy cheap. They are very humane and kind as well.
You sure can bring them. They would love that. There's a inside drop off just through the double doors on your left. Thank you for being there for the animals. God bless you ☺️
Hi Betty. We are accepting donations for our shelter pets. We have donation bins outside the front doors of both of our shelters and you are welcome to drop them off anytime between 11:00am - 6:00pm. Thank you very much:)
As long as the bags are closed/never used they do take and accept donations :).
Please call the store, and please use goggle to find out the phone number and location, my client had her dog done with that service,$300.00,depending which establishment.
Just take them in..don't give them away for free to be tortured. Let them adopt them out..it's their job..
Hey Joshua, adoptions aren't free today, but depending on who you're looking at, we do have some dogs with sponsored adoption fees. This weekend we will also be having a free cat and kittens promo.
I'm not sure about giving kittens pumpkin, but I do know that it can be given to dogs. So best advice is to call a vet
To get a cat neutered it is $35 in the Reno location. But you may want to call them and check to see if there are any discounts as Shaleah mentioned.
Alpha groomers in Reno clips nails for five bucks
On their website they have some dogs posted that are available for adoption along with their age, breed, neutered or spayed information, and a cute little biography on them. Check there
Call and find out
I think they're only fixing pits and Pit Bull mixes and it's on a sliding scale the ASPCA fixes dogs for a hundred bucks each you make an appointment and you have to give them a $50 non-refundable deposit
http://nevadahumanesociety.org/volunteer/become-a-volunteer/ The Nevada Humane Society is open 7 days a week, but you can also sign up for volunteer events that are off-site and fall outside of their regular business hours. The link above explains how to get started and also there is a link on that page that has a list of volunteer opportunities.
You should probably start by going to Washoe county. It's right next to the shelter. Take a photo of your dog and show it to them. If your dog was brought in and got transferred they will tell you. Then you slcan go next door to the shelter. And ask to see her under the name they gave her.
All dogs available for adoption are listed on our website: https://nevadahumanesociety.org/adopt-a-pet-dogs-and-puppies/
Any cat over 5 is free, an adult cat under five can be yours for 25 and kittens cost 60.
SPCA usually does reduced cost spay and neuter regularly. You should contact them.
I thought it was a no-kill facility.
I take care of ferals. I help trap spay /neuter n return. I have 21 cats I take care of. It was the best thing I could of done with my life.. taking care of what JEHOVAH God created. They are well worth it!
Maybe 50 percent
Yes, there is. Go ahead and call them, and they can help you.
You should go look at the animals at the shelter. So many need homes and you can foster any animal at no cost. Please help out they is a great need now.
I think you can purchase your duck at the Nevada Humane society.
Call. See if you can get financial assistance to get your kitty seen.
I'm sorry to hear about your puppy, all I can tell you is call them and ask, check some local vets and see if they will help.
If you contact the humane shelter they will bring out traps to catch them and help them out.
Gosh I don't think so but am not 100 percent on that . It wouldn't hurt to call the medical clinic inside the humane society. I do know advance pet clinic does . I haven't been there either but a friend has. Good luck
Don't know i only got mine chip for free
Not sure they provide that service. Call them or try Options Veterinary.
Yes on Sundays from 1:00-3:00
I don't think they do. Of you post it on Facebook someone will probably be glad to pick up of door step thats what we do
What ever fur babies they have are for adoption. They have the most sweetest animals there. I wish I could give them all a forever home
You have to look online first, and make an appointment to see an animal that you think you want. You can't just walk in at this time.
They rarely ever get young purebred dogs. Look for a reputable breeder if you want purebred, not a cheap backyard breeder. You'll likely pay upwards of $1000 or more for one.
To request an appointment pick out a cat you are interested in on their website. You will fill out a short application. It will ask if you have a second choice. NHS will contact you to set up an appointment - they got in touch with us within 24 hours. Once you are there you can look at other cats as well. Appointments earlier in the day will be best - if you make an appointment late in the day the employees may not have as much time to spend with you.
They do offer discounted rates. Go to their website: nevadahumanesociety.org and search "veterinary clinic services" for the latest prices and information.
Hi Kathy. Please visit our website & review the shelter pets available for adoption. When you find one you’re interested in, fill out an adoption application. A member of our adoptions team will be in touch with you regarding your application. We are still processing applications virtually & scheduling animal adoptions by appointment at this time to help keep our team, the community & all the pets in our shelters safe. https://nevadahumanesociety.org/
Hi Luis. Please visit our clinic page to schedule spay/neuter appointments: https://nevadahumanesociety.org/veterinary-clinic-services/
Yes you can. There is a charge to do so. You need to make an appointment.
Hi Tina. The cost for spaying your dog is dependent upon weight, and the prices can be found here: http://nevadahumanesociety.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/Spay-Neuter-Clinic-Pricing.pdf Please let us know if you have any other questions.
I got online and it was immediate
I take my cats and dogs to the Humane society for shots and sugeries.. you can call the and ask when the next clinics are, including times and fees. Or walk in and get printed lists and schedules. Prices are really reasonable respectively, and they answer all your questions..
Yes they are
Also some vet clinics the bigger ones like baring animal hospital may have scanners
No you have to take it to a vet who will cremate it or bury it in your yard if you dump it in the desert it is a massive fine and the coyotes will come and eat the local animals and if you bring it to the Humane Society they will not take it
There's a boarding house for pets on 4th Street West of RTC
No but there is a couple bird societies around town
Try the Sierra Veterinary Service and Hospital on Morrill and 6th Street
Chad Miller, she doesnt have the stitches anymore its just healing up now, but it is by that area. If the bump doesnt go away when she heals should I take her to get checked?
Hey Cynthia, our low-cost spay and neuter program is continuous -- and our vaccine and microchip clinic is weekly! You can see more info here: https://nevadahumanesociety.org/veterinary-clinic-services/
I have adopted and they are wonderful animals. I adopted Poco when he was 2. Unfortunately he passed last Dec. at age 15. He was a Chihuahua. My other dog is Shi-Tau and he will be 18 in 2 months.
I'm not sure, but it's best to call and check weekly. I don't think they turn away animals in need, including birds!
I don't sell any animals but The Nevada Humaine on Lonely lane would be happy to help you, please call ahead and use Google to get help for the numbers.
Im very sorry for your loss. (My puppy looks just like the one in your profile pic.) I've come to learn that dogs are emotionally complex creatures with very real feelings, attachments and desires. Your dog needs to mourn her loss. You can help her by being extra responsive and attentive. Tons of quality time even if that means just watching a movie and maintaining physical contact with her. I think lots of close contact and calm, soothing conversation. Also get out and walk every day even if she doesn't seem into it. I hope that helps.
Yes,we in northern Nevada have charities would have help you. Also they have discount in others areas, please call around, and Google the numbers
If you saw it at the shelter in one of the public-facing kennels, but he is not online, then the animal was probably adopted.
The same thing happened to me,my cat got out.I was driving around the area where I live, calling her name. I was also, crying. But I found her screaming wrap her in the towel.Lily I hope you find her soon.Does the cat have chip.If so,you can track her.Good Lluck
I would love to, but live in a apartment can only have 2/ animals not sure if the Nevada human society does, but call them they will tell you where to go
Am sure you can ,, kittens am sure
If thee animal is 3yrs. or under there's a fee, I believe it is $50. They do have times in the yr. That adoptions are free. Anywho, above 3yrs.old animals are free yr. round. That's the scoop! 😺
Mon thru Friday 8-4
If you can get in....should be able to as far as prices they should be reasonable also tractor supply has a clinic that is supposed to be good and reasonable it is in Sparks
First time think it $38 second time $50 third time think is $100
I believe so. I had to surrender a dog that I adopted from them and they said it would not prevent me from adopting
Yes
Hey Elizabeth, you can get all the answers here on our website! You'll have to call for an appointment for the next time slot we have available, if you're in Reno. As vaccine clinic is by appointment only. In Carson, it's walk-in basis only on Friday. https://nevadahumanesociety.org/veterinary-clinic-services/
Hey Dot! Yes, we do. You can find more information about it here: https://nevadahumanesociety.org/veterinary-clinic-services/
Nv Humane Society on Longley Lane, Reno
They know all listen to them
Cailey -- if the dog comes in as a stray, he's held for five to seven days. If he's already up for adoption, we can usually hold for a possible adopt for only one day. We don't take payments, but prices vary between free, $25 and $50.
I'm so sorry that you have to put your fur baby to sleep 😔 I hope you have many fond memories.
All you have to do is call them and they will make a appointment for you to turn you dog in. They are wonderful and will be there to help you.
Thank you I will, we are both seniors on an income that simply doesn't allow any room for anything extra in our lives, and Hank has been part of our life for 15 years, so we are both heartbroken.
Yes, I am saving up to get two females but I dont want to get them from Petco or Petsmart because they are abused there and I dont want to support that.
No
The animal adoptions vary by the age of the animal. Cats that are 0-5 months are $60, 6 months to 5 years $25, 5 and older free. The dogs cost more than the cats.
Unless its life or death I dont think they do. I'd just call ahead
Okay good! cause I read on the website that it's like six weeks in advance and that's crazy. If I can't get him fixed by this weekend I have to give him up ):
I would think on the website
Depends on the dog. If it has a history of biting, probably not
Nevada humane society
If you want to Volunteer you will need to go to Volunteer training. Ages for volunteering is 16, or 10 if a parent volunteers with you. You can give them a call or go online to the website to sign up.
Contact their clinic
They don't sell rabbit poo
Yes a few. Check the website under adoption. Then dogs. And you can see all the dogs available
Yes.
I would think so. Or, call them and they will be happy to take your money
You can take her to the Humane Society and im sure she'll get adopted. If you have a little time, you might consider putting an ad on Craigslist. It costs nothing and you would have a chance to meet the new owner. I wish I could take her but I just adopted a 3rd dog les than a month ago and my wife really doesn't want to take on another. However, if all else fails, let me know. One other idea, if you get your dog registered as a service animal, no one can prevent you from having your dog with you. There's only a couple places you can't take her, for example a hospital ICU. It's covered in the Americans with Disabilities Act, commonly known as the ADA.
Some cats don't like other cats. Some cats enjoy being in a pride of more cats. You know your cat the best and if you get a kitten and they don't get along you can wait for them to bond and be buddies but they all have very strong personalities :)
Nevada humane society will check this out if you call them.
The hours are 11 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday. 10 am to 5 pm on weekends. Sometime they shut down early do to wether
You can call whoever the manufacturer is, such as home again and have them update it. You'll need the chip number.
Ok. Firstky, getting your tom fixed when well into adult hood will not fix the priblem. The spray is urine. Your cat is spraying bc something is encroaching his territory. Secondly, the animal may be having mental health issues. Anxious or stressed. New bables or smaller kids can be a trigger. Liik into what a problem may be. Being neutered can cause a wide variety of health issues for your fur baby.
Take her in to the clinic at the humane society....
looking for a labor retriver
You have to be 10 years old. You can volunteer at 10 but you must be with an adult. You must be 18 to volunteer without an adult.
I just got my puppy there....ask one of the volunteer's at the round desk when you first walk in
You can always call! The number should be on the previous page. :)
Go to their web page- best place to check out possible adoptions
Adult dogs are $50 that's with all their shots and neutering and they always have a ton of huskies if you look on petharbor.com and select the Humane Society or the Washoe Regional Animal Services as your search Place it'll show you what dogs are available. Puppies under 4 months are $200 and very desirable breeds can be up to 150 that's with all their shots and everything and their neutering or spading
Reno critter control. Only deal with wildlife. 624 9932. Not sure if they are human but ask them.
No they do not
If you can call them first to let them know what you have so they can prepare. If not please leave them in your car if you are able to and go inside and tell them at the front counter. Doing this reduces the spreading of parvo if that's what they have.
Call the humane society. Don't ask Google maps.
More cats than dogs usually. But about 50 cats and 25 dogs.
They have ta vet i have my cat and dog neutered but I'm not sure about a full-on vet service but I think they have it you need to call them and find out what the offer
I spayed a cat, neutered her brother, had them both dewormed, they got their shots and microchips and it was $60 for everything! And they had excellent care and healed quickly, no problems at all. I was very pleased. I highly recommend The Nevada Humane Society!
I saw the first half of this comment earlier today. First of all this is the humane society not the pound. Your beef is with local animal services. If your animal ended up at the humane society its because it went through the waiting time at the pound before it arrived. If the animal had tags or a microchip you would have been notified of your animal being in the pound and had two weeks to collect it. Stop spreading improperly directed hate because you didn't do your research and are mad.
Check the ads in paper ,Craig's list, and pet rescues. I did get my kitten 3 months. Ago from the rescue in Tahoe.. There should be many to choose from with the weather getting better.
That is NOT true... We just took our dog there and we got our shots. We are from Tennessee for Tesla. But, that had nothing to do with it.
They can also help you depending on what breed you have and where you live
Nope
Walk ins only every Saturday. Get there at 8a and be prepared to wait a few hours. Shots for cats are $10-$15 each.
Just called Humane Society or whoever it is that you need to get ahold of they will tell you exactly where to go and what to do
They perform spaying and neutering at their clinic. At this time they are doing only cats, pitbull and Chihuahuas. You must call leave a message and they will call you back to make an appointment. Very reasonable. I had both our cats fixed there and had no problems. Highly recommend.
No appointment necessary and yes they will do Rabies shots as well. Just know they can get busy and backed up so it may take awhile.
I believe they do. There is a basic commands training at the Humane Society that you can attend. Anything more advanced and they can refer you to someone. Call them directly to get the most accurate information.
I am not sure. When I had to release 2 cats a few years ago. It cost me $25 each. I don't know much they charge for the dog
They have a low cost vaccination clinic that ranges in price by vaccines received, however if you want a health wellness check or have medical concerns you should seek a local veterinary for their services.
Yes
Less they changed it they dont. Kings row vet just started doing it tho.
The animal is free if it is over 5 yrs old
If you have a vet, they can guide you to whatever service you feel is appropriate. Or you can take the dog to the shelter. The Aussie in my buddy icon recently passed at home, and though it sounds cold, I could only afford to take him to the shelter where they took his body in for cremation for $10. No memorial or confirmation or ashes. But they were very understanding. The minimum service is cremation with a card to confirm the cremation which is about $125. If you want the ashes, it's about $150 I think. Of course, anything further is up to you.
I would call the nearest animal shelter and ask them.
At the Nevada Humane Society complex, in the clinic....they are located on Longley Lane just south of the Rock and Longley intersection almost across Longley from Emigrant Storage.
They olny have veteranary services for animals that are surrendered to them. If you call they will refer you to a veterinarian.
It is best to call them directly for days and times
