I stopped and hiked in Galena Creek on a day trip from Reno to Lake Tahoe. Beautiful Park with lots of trails. I wished I could have stayed longer, and will definitely be back next time I'm in Reno.

This was such a clean and peaceful area. I recommend the Galena Nature trail to anyone who loves a peaceful hike!

This place is so peaceful. It has picnic tables and a lot of trees for shade. It also has a creek and the sound is very relaxing. Lots of parking places too. You can park on the North side and walk to the creek, or you can park on the South side and enjoy the creek right out of your car.

Had fun in the snow but we didn’t see any sledding options anywhere!? We followed the signs but it was a wild goose chase. Didn’t like that we went far into the park carrying our sleds and slomping thru the snow ❄️ only to leave without the desired intent.Hi Ronald. Sorry to hear that you weren't able to find the ideal sledding spot. While the signs are meant to steer visitors into a safer area to play, there just aren't many options for steep sledding hills that are easy to get to. There are a few hidden gems, but they are a pretty good walk from any parking area (about 1/4 mile in some areas). If you see a Ranger on your next visit, please feel free to ask us how to find the good spots, or give us a call at 775-849-2511 before your next visit. We're more than happy to help. There's also a list of alternatives for sledding in our area located on the Galena Creek Regional Park page at www.washoecountyparks.com Thanks for visiting and taking the time to write a review!

Thanks for reaching out to us! Yes, all Washoe County Parks are dog-friendly. There are leash requirements in most parks, unless stated otherwise. They are required at all times within Galena Creek Regional Park. While hiking the Jones/Whites Loop Trail, Whites Creek Trail and Thomas Creek Trail toward the Mt. Rose Wilderness, leashes are required for the first mile of the trail. After that, they are only advised. For more information, visit our website www.washoecountyparks.com
Marilyn's Pond is still frozen, Davis pond has not been stocked yet, as of 3/14/22. My advice is to check NDOW.org for stocking updates for other locations. The Sparks Marina was just stocked this week.
No, its great for snowshoeing
I'm not positive but no more then 10 per a bench and that's cramming every one in.
No you can not and no campsites
Very cool!
No camping. Day use only. You can camp at Davis creek further south about 15 min
