A very dependable loveing aid for animal lovers.thank youm
Kinnary Patel
Loved our experience with Sharon. Volunteers are super friendly and knowledgeable. We are very happy with our little rambunctious puppy. I love that they had dog training services and that you get the deposit back after completion. Thank you PAWS, Zeus has brought so much happiness into our lives.

They do great things here. Please support!

Pretty disappointed. We filled out and application and even had an interview with a woman the day of our appointment. They knew we had 6-year-old as it was in application and we told them on the phone. We drove 45 min to Paws with the hope to adopt a cat on my sons birthday. When we arrived five volunteers all looked at us with blank expressions. One finally said we don’t have any cats for 6-year-olds. They said they were all level two (as if we were supposed to know what that meant). We didn’t even get to look at any cats. We wish we would have been told this when we had the interview the same morning. They said that you really can’t trust the cats on the website as they’re adopted quickly. I get it but what is the purpose of making an appointment if you don’t have any cats that fit one’s household. It was a long drive for nothing and we have a pretty sad son at the moment.
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
they just told me no to blankets, sheets and towels; they are only accepting unopened food, toys which can be. sanitized and crates
Not at this location. The Paws Lurie clinic does and there's a mobile clinic they have that also does neutering.
You should call the city shelter
IL Secretary of State will have all necessary Non-profit forms and details if you yourself choose your own benefactors of estate details. Hopefully this answer helps you in whatever you decide.
I was a volunteer here a few years ago. At the time they were not allowed to take dogs or cats directly from people who wanted to give them up. They had to direct people to animal care and control. This may have changed.
Yes
They never offered when I went to pick up my pup. They brought us into a room and then had the dog greet us, etc.... I would probably say they would let you, but only do it if you really wanna bring them home who knows the last time they probably really been outside the dog may get to excited and would suck to have to go back inside knowing your not going home.
Distemper shots are normally given by a veterinarian. You can call PAWS to inquire.
Yes they do at a low cost or depending on your zip code Some areas are free
You need to go to the Lurie Spray/Neuter Center which is in Little Village. This location cannot do surgeries.
Have a vet check him out. Also clean wih vinegar and water or natures miracle spray where he sprayed, and there s stuff you can buy to discourage spraying, like feliway, etc.
The fees depend on the age. But there are some exceptions. If there's a "featured" cat or dog, the fees may be waived or there are many extras (e.g. free food for a year). Keep in mind, the fees include all shots, microchipping, spaying/neutering, & whatever medical care they've needed.
There are usually puppies of various ages & sizes regularly. Stop in & see what's available.
My best guess is that the fees will be the same - depending on the age of the dog.
Sorry, I really don’t know. The last 2 cats I got from paws where foster fails. They are a non-for profit song not always 100% on top of everything. if you know what pet you want to adopt you could certainly call or just go there. Once you are there and you tell them that you’ve already filled out an application process will probably go pretty quick.
Go in to a Paws office n talk with the front desk ppl also u can see how the cat live wen u get there n they really care about the animals. They will give u a day n time to bring your cats to a location.
I don't know for sure.
PAWS is a great place to adopt an animal. I Aspen my dog from them 4 years ago. Friendly stuff that cares about animals and will help you get started
It's not necessary to bring pets but optional. They will do cat and dog tests themselves but that's more to tell you about the new dog than how the current ones will react. They do ask that all humans living in the house should be there.
Probably not, should probably look online for a rescue group that has that dog, Google wiener rescue or weimaraner rescue or whatever.
You can try Craigs list...🤷🏻♀️
I think you'll have to contact them for a new appointment when you are ready
For the staff
No
Yes
Maybe in the parking lot across the street from PAWS
You might have to call PAWS directly.
I'm not 100% sure they don't. If you check their website it should show the animals they have for adoption. I've been here recently and only saw cats and dogs. As for what shelter ,I'm not sure what your expecting out of a hamster so I can't recommend any.
No, they currently only have dogs and cats.
Very expensive at Paws! 7months and under $450.00 part of that is mandatory $100 for training. But to register for training you have to pay another $175. They will try to get you to go across street to expensive Petco to spend more money. They will tell you a free visit at VCA but that cost too.
Bed food by small amount see if they like it .
Fill out survey first it help them to know coming
If you choose to foster, they provide healthcare, medication, food, and bedding for your animal. You are still responsible for treats, toys, games, general transport, any additional bed sheets, etc.
Yes, this shelter does have dogs available currently.
Need to call paws for more info
Call them first to know the next step
Call them first to know the next step
All cats are neutered that are up for adoption. They are affiliated with a very prestigious veterinary college give him a call but I do not believe that they neuter a cat instead of taking it to a vet. They make sure they're in perfect condition and then they put them up for adoption. Check out their page tells you everything you need to know and there's emails people get back to you right away you leave your phone number their first class.
Call paws for answer.
PAWS gave me hard copies at the time we adopted and an email to reach out regarding medical needs. The adopting family could reach via email to the contact provided.
Please contact PAWS.
Sure is! They have a great selection of cats to adopt.
It's best to reach out to the staff and volunteers at PAWS for a complete answer.
Not sure why you are asking me
By appointment only due to COVID. Call them before going.
They only have viewings by appointment. You have to fill out three documents: a profile, a compatible document and you view the available animals online and fill out an adoption document. If you are selected to adopt one or more of the animals on your list, they will call you to set up an appointment. If you do not get a call within two weeks, chances are the animals you selected were taken. You'd then just fill out just another adoption application for your new selection(s).
Likely not, but Animal House of Chicago probably does. I've gone there for 17 years. They treat exotic animals. My hedgehog and dwarf hamsters all had succesful surgeries there.
One is enough
I think they do. Look on the site about relinquishing pets.
It's online only. Their virtual adoption program has you complete all the paperwork and indicate your top 3 animals. If you're approved for one of them, you go in to meet the animal for 15-30 min and decide if it's likely a good match before finalizing the adoption. If the animal isn't, they'll try to find you one that is. We adopted a kitten this way three weeks ago and he's a great match. It helps that their process has always been foster-to-adopt, where things aren't completely finalized until two weeks after the pet goes home with you. If it doesn't work out, they'll take the animal back and you start over if you want.
Honestly I emailed them more than 3 times in the last 4 months and they haven't once reached out to me
Adoptable animals can be found on their website, pawschicago.org. Currently, they are only allowing virtual adoptions.
Most likely not Most places won't as it would of been tampered or poisoned.
Dnt I just pass by
Yes, I believe so. On my application for both times I adopted a pet citizenship was never asked. If you can care for and have a place that accepts pets you should be fine. Some rentals do not allow pets. I have adopted as a renter and homeowner and had no trouble.
It varies. For cats it is from $25 (5+ years old) to $125 for a kitten. Details are on their site - search for "paws Chicago adoption fees".
They have a wide mix of dogs. When I went this past September I did see a couple there. They will make sure you are a good match first though.
Yes they do
Paws is a no kill shelter we adopted our dog from there. Highly recommend them.
They would love this. Thank you. There is a volunteer orientation you sign up for and there you will choose kitty city or dog town. Then after the orientation you'll sign up for days and times. Go to the website and sign up online. Thank you!
No it not it located 1997 n clybourn street. I hope this was helpful.
Don't know, call them
Animal care and control i believe are waving fees. Hope you find help.
Search there Midical Clinic on the lower west side of Chicago. PAWS Chicago Medical Center (3516 W. 26th Street)
Your vet can help you. If you'd like to have her ashes they can cremate her for you or take her for you for disposal. You can bury her, too. Not sure if it's legal in your area but check with your alderman. Sorry for your loss.
A
Found cat and kittens in rain, brought them in so they would be ok, but cannot keep them, is there a place that can come get them.
Get cat treats and make him come to you, hand feed him the treats, when he takes the treat, touch him with a finger first and work up to your hand. You have to get him to trust you. And he will over time.
They have a sliding scale depending on your income. Check with the clinic in little village. They can help you more.
You will want to call a certified pet sitter for that. PAWS does not offer those services.
They won't pick up a cat. Is your cat a former Paws cat?
They try, but a lot of pets are from other shelters and some are not sure of the age of the pet. But they get close. A good vet can tell you about the age of a pet.
Yes. Call ahead first.
I don't believe they do. But there is a faq page with that info in it. Paws Chicago.Org.
Paws isn't a veterinary clinic. Now they do have a Medical Center on 26th and about St. Louis that attends to Paws animals, but I don't believe it's a "walk in" clinic. Goggle map it and it will give you the phone number to call that location to answer your question exactly.
Ask them they know
It is encouraged to bring all family members when looking to adopt.
You can also check the website but I'm not sure how quickly they update it. http://www.pawschicago.org/our-work/pet-adoption/adopt-a-dog/
Go to the pet store 🏪 and buy 🛍 what 😦 you need for the dog 🐶 and a 🐈 cat and ask them what 😦 you need to get for those 2 animals that you have 👌 okay
You need to call. The population of animals changes often.
You will have to look at the website. All kinds of dog come through PAWS
Go to there web site. It will show all that are up for adoption. They don't seem them. You pay an adoption fee. They will give you food and toys they have been playing with. But you have to go there to meet the dog or dogs to start the process
When a puppy is fixed, it is done by and off site Vet. If your dog is sick, go on line and find a Vet near you and go see them now. Please don't wait. Your puppy need you to care for them.
Go to Pawschicago.org and on the top of the page click on VOLUNTEER. It will show two boxes of current or new(something like that). Follow the questionnaire and away you go.
PAWS Chicago often finds strays that they take in.
Not typically, however if you have any other animals in the home you must bring them to PAWS to see if they get along. Same goes if you have other family members who will be living with the animal. PAWS wants to make sure that any adopted pet can have a stress free transition and welcoming home from the day of adoption!
They recomend pet co
I don't think they spay or neutering, but if u call they can give u a referance to a good vet who does
$400 for puppies six months and under, $300 for dogs seven months and older. But that includes a $100 obedience training fee that is refundable once you complete training with your dog within four months.
Adoption fees are based upon age, not size.
No. They only do pets that they are going to home. They may be able to guve a referral to a place.
Unfortunately not. PAWS does offer volunteer service however in order to volunteer for being a helper with the dogs and cats, you need to go to a training session typically held over the weekends in order to understand how to interact with the animals there
Take them to the shelter in the city they are really good.
Because they are a shelter, it's rare to get pure breeds. I would call them directly and ask
They're doing an event where they waive adoption fees!
I would call the medical center and see if They can take it.
You don't pay for the animals. You pay to help cover the cost of the medical care. But I will say that any organization like that is not run on good feelings. How do they pay for the lights, the heat? Finally, (again, my personal opinion) if you can't afford the adoption fee there's no way you'll be able to support a pet. They're not cheap.
You can call and ask if they have room
You have to go threw a screening and orientation in order to volunteer. Its a lengthy process. If u want to go in and just play with the puppies thats not allowed
Is better to call them and ask them
Do not abandon them. Call PAWS first. They should be able to find you someone to help. If you have to, you can also take them to a police station, or fire department. There is no penalty for taking them in. Do not abandon them.
They may be closed for weather
Go to their web site and see if they can help. They'll Directe you to what to do next. Hope it helps. Stay warm.
Belmont to Clybourn. Hope it helps.
I will have a litter of chihuahua-schnauzer mix in about a month
No
if you can leave it there
I believe you need to call ahead and schedule a time
Get in contact with them I think they will be happy to hear from you, they are always looking for volunteers.
You can foster animals and you need to be 16 but I believe you would need your parents permission.
I'm not sure. But you should check their web site just to be sure. Hope it helps. I really hope that they can help.
I don't think so
Check their web site. Hope it helps.
It depends on which pet you are buying. But check their Web-Site just to be sure. Hope it helps. Have a wonderful day.
Yes
Yes, you would have to register online and go to orientation
I successfully used the phone number listed, here, in Google maps
Please call paws directly for assistance!
I dont know but they may have waivers these days to place animals in their forever homes for the holidays...call them they are great!
Literally any vet, or the PAWS medical center at 3516 W 26th St
Call paws directly for assistance!
$200 for dogs over 6 months, $300 for puppies, plus a $100 refundable training depisot you get back if you bring your dog to a training class
The shelter has events periodically that reduce adoption fees, but their dates vary from year to year. Check the PAWS website for more info on when events are taking place.
No, this is an adoption center, they do not perform medical care for animals outside of their care.
Only if you got your puppy from them , but you cant bring yours and make the surgery, this is a "shelter " is expensive get a dog here usually are 400 so if you want to go there for save zome money thats nor the place
I'm not entirely sure.
This is an animal shelter. I don't think they trim dogs nails.
Give the shelter a call for more information
I would call and check for sure, that would be great if they do!
Give them a call to discuss options!
Between $300-$400. Good luck finding a furry friend 😊
No, there are fees outlined on the website.
Yes I believe you can, they can help with what to do
Yes! Sign up to be a volunteer and you can come as often as you wish!
Yes! Bring it by the adoption center during business hours. There's a tub near the front door for donations.
Pets adopted here already are up to date on their vaccinations and spayed/ neutered. If you have a cat/ dog that needs these services it provided at Lurie's low cost clinic, or Anti-cruelty Society. It's rare to get them provided free. Lurie's offers free spay to some locations (zip codes). Also, microchipping is offered at Lurie's for a small fee, but this location is far and often inconvenient.
Occasionally they do free adoption days, only a few times a year.
Stay away from this location. The management is terrible.
So sorry for your loss. PAWS Chicago has a Pet Loss Support Group once a month. Check the website gor details.
Please call them directly to see if they can assist.
Definitely give them a call, they assist with cats of all ages!
The fees are outlined on the website based on dog/cat and age range.
Its not a vet, its just an adoption center
Anti-Cruelty Society rehomes animals. I say animals because they take in more than cats and dogs.
Yes, dogs are up for adoption. Please check the website for a general idea or visit the adoption center in Lincoln Park.
I was there volunteering yesterday morning and there were about 6-8 kittens. Not sure if they're still there after the adoption hours.
I would call them or just go in they will have your app on file. That's what I did.
One street past PAWS there's free street parking but it can be hard to find a spot midday. The small parking lot we have is for PAWS vehicles only.
If you rent, bring in your lease that shows that you are allowed to have a cat or dog. Otherwise they have to contact your landlord first. Also, for adopting a cat the fee is $125 which is due prior to taking your pet home. (I am unsure of the rate for dogs).
Most likely no. That is why people have to find rentals that specifically say pets are allowed and that they fit under their weight limit. Rental managers understand that people in chicago like to own dogs so its a great money majer for them as well as an assurance policy to the additinal wear the animal puts on the building. You should speak with the rental company. Also see what others say in case someone else is aware of some gov or shelter sponsored financial assistance for the care of an animal.
They won't let you volunteer without a parent or guardian if you are underage for legal reasons
Call them and ask ,sorry can't help you.
They're not a vet, please reach out to your vet for guidance
You can take them to the PAWS Medical Center 3516 W 26th St, Chicago, IL 60623 since they're so young they need immediate mediacal care and to be syringe fed every couple of hours
Yes! Bring it by the adoption center in Lincoln Park!
They don't pick them Up, but if u make an appointment, they will give the shots. Or you can show up super early when clinic opens
What do I need to adopt a cat? Do they come and check my home before I adopt one?
Lots of cats ,many colors adoption fee around 75 100 depends what age cat is.
The medical center may be able to help you. Id call and ask
Can I have 2 kittens please I can pay you please?
Paws only takes dogs and cats, not goats. Please call paws directly regarding the cat.
I'd call paws directly for more information.
The Lurie location has a clinic and does low cost vaccinations and neutering/spading services.
Dogs are pregnant for 2-2.5 months
If you got him from PAWS, they gave you a sheet with pertinent contact info for local pet services. There should be a number for an emergency animal care facility
No, Paws does not have Doggy Daycare. ☹
Theyd likely have have to go to the medical center location.
Don't worry about it there's plenty of parking around the building
That I don't know. Call and ask.
You have local vet might be easier I know it's hard
You have to go through a training process, call for more information
They do! So sorry to hear about your cat :( theres a large bin in the front to donate, you may want to call about any opened food items.
Paws doesnt have cat fixed if you own them already to my knowledge. But all cats thay let people adopt are already fixed. Best bet would call them and or your local vca
Please contact your vet
That doesn't align with paws purpose. I'd check into local vets.
Ok thanks emma that is the only dog my mom likes. I would take any dog anytime😁
Look I’m just asking a question is that too much to ask and yes I aiming to adopt a dog 🐕 because It’s more safer for the environment world of dogs and for 🐕 🐶 dogs.
You should totally get a cat.
We
It's Armitage and Clybourn. The building itself is very non descript. But there is a mall directly across the street with a pet store, although I don't think you can park there for PAWS
Come in to look or check the website!
Call paws hosp they will give a cheep vet name
Cats are cheaper than dogs at PAWS. About $100 depending on age or special event. Too bad you can't find this info on their website but doing that would probably bring in less adopters.....
Yes
Animals are only taken from shelters or sometimes direct from an owner who can no longer care for it. Strays shld be taken to your local public shelter
Yes, you need a vet, not PAWS, which is an animal shelter.
Sounds like blocked glands. Not sure if there's a salve or brush, but any vet can tell you what works
Yes. Red Plum ad bags make wonderful poop collectors
PAWS is an organization that utilizes pet and animals like recycling human organs. They received millions in donation from unsuspecting donors. The pet are then sold do the highest bidder or people with the highest income. The owner Sara is quite prejudice just say the least she refused to sell me a cat because she did not like the wording of the contract between me and my residential manager. The location of visited was on North Clybourn Street in Chicago. The animals food trays showed food that was not edible to any animal I have no good words to speak of this organization I pray that God will intervene on the animals behalf. They receive animals from other shelters not knowing the correct age of the pets. I feel this organization should be investigated and legal action taken against the owners or finds be inflicted. This is the honest to god truth about this matter!
No! This is a no kill shelter.
Goole's "Ask a Question" is a crowd source for answers ... I suggest that you call Paws Chicago directly. Good luck!
I believe PAWS pulls animals from CACC at least once a week.
Talk to a animal doctor
Call our Lurie Clinic for appointment times and prices.
I agree with the responses that you've received. We live in the country and it's funny that our very happy Paws Chicago alum prefers going into the village to walk ... I think he likes the familiarity of curb, gutter, and sidewalks. (smile)
As part of the adoption agreement, PAWS reserves the right to take back any animal adopted from PAWS if they determine it is being mistreated.
Right now, vaccinations are reduced through the end of December for Chicago residents. Call to schedule an appt.
Availability of types of dogs depends on the pets surrendered or rescued. But PAWS seems to have the best assortment.
Not PAWS Chicago. There is a PAWS of Tinley Park but we are not affiliated with that shelter.
Contact the Community Outreach department for assistance.
The adoption fees are outlined on the website
Was ypur dog chipped? They have pictures online. Call them
PAWS does work with out of state high kill shelters.
PAWS only works with felines and canines. Suggest you search online for rescues that take chickens.
The adoption process is outlined on the website, hopefully you find one!
The fees are outlined on the paws website.
Thye have that at their Clinic on 26th street lurie spay neuter clonic. Call to ask
For certain zip codes they do. Check the website for the list.
Sit down and have a conversation with your neighbor, ask if you can help, ask if she/he needs assistance with care, and etc. Chicago is a community of all people. One Chicago does not mean Yuppity with money only. Meet your neighbors and be neighborly or leave the city. Your internal fears do not benefit a City like Chicago. End Rant!
I don't know if they do, but you can buy a cat or kitten nail trimmer and do it yourself or take him to a groomer
They do not take owner surrender cats, you can try Treehouse or St Sophia's Forgotten Felines. You can try calling PAWS anyway.
Paws takes adoption very seriously so it is a bit more of a process than that. You begin by taking a short survey and can look around the facilities, but there is a semi-formal interview and if you have another pet in the household, they are required to meet to make sure they get along. They really care that the animal is headed to a good home, so don't expect to go in, point one out and walk home with it in an hour.
I haven't heard about paws having any kind of therapeutic companions. That doesn't mean that there could one day be a rescue dog that was previously trained.
I think you just show up monday through Thursday at 7 am with your cats Its i believe $65. Per cat. Call first maybe.
You. An give them a call, have you tried other no kill rescue groups, Fur Angels in Aurora, Famous Fido in Chicago.
You would have to call Paws spay neuter clinic to find out, but they may not do that. Try Animal Welfare League in Chicago Ridge.
Once you have selected a dog or cat, you meet with an adoption counselor to ensure you fully comprehend the responsibilities & commitment. Plus, records are reviewed to ensure that your landlord (if applicable) will officially allow pets. All roommates & family members must also be present.
Paws caters to cats and dogs, i would try calling to see if they can point you in the right direction locally.
I would try calling the organization to get clarification.
