I agree with the responses that you've received. We live in the country and it's funny that our very happy Paws Chicago alum prefers going into the village to walk ... I think he likes the familiarity of curb, gutter, and sidewalks. (smile)

There is no requirement to have a yard of any kind. The great majority of responsible dog owners in Chicago will exercise their dogs on a leash on sidewalks, pathways and parks. In fact, the adoption agreement states that if you have a yard the dog must not be left out in it while unattended.
