A really responsive collection (new books, ebooks, hotspots, day passes, etc.) and helpful staff, located in Colville’s historic civic center.

Great library, great staff. Always find what I need. Free wifi, nine computers available to use. Can order materials from any of the eight libraries in Stevens County to be delivered for pickup. Close to court house, etc.

Great customer service, free wifi, copy machine and printer available, a couple of picnic tables and benches outside the library. A great place to find out about the local community.

Questions & Answers

Can you spend more than 15 minutes inside?

SenatorS | Aug 17, 2021
Colville Public Library | Aug 17, 2021

Hi there! Thanks for asking. Yes, we are currently able to offer up to 30 minute visits. We are hoping that things will continue to open up and we will be able to offer even more in July. We will continue to post on our Google business sites, our website (thelosc.org) and our social media channels. Let us know if you have any further questions!

Are the computers and printers available for online job applications and updating resumes?

Jori Newtson | Aug 17, 2021
Colville Public Library | Aug 17, 2021

Hi Jori! Yes, you can utilize a computer in the library and they have access to printers for up to 15 minutes. If you need longer than that, we can check out a curbside laptop to you (bring an ID to exchange) for up to 90 minutes. The laptops are also able to send print jobs as well. Thanks for asking! Let us know if you have further questions.

I was wondering if there is a system of checking out books by mail?

Donna Abercrombie | Aug 18, 2018

Hi Donna! We do not currently offer this service. We can pass along this feedback to our Director if this is something you are asking us to offer. Please let us know. Thank you!

Is the improvement group the same as a Friends group?

Helen Herron | Aug 17, 2021

Hi Helen, The Colville Public Library Improvement Club is our equivalent of a Friends group. Their purpose is to "promote and advance the welfare of the Colville Public Library by providing service and support".

Does the library have a movie fear clinic

We do not currently have that title. For other selections, you can visit our website at thelosc.org and select catalog at the top of the page (from a mobile device, scroll down about halfway to Search the Catalog button). You can request selections under the Menu button (three lines), then click Contact Us, Request Materials. Thank you for asking!

How do you print and I don't get how you need your library card number for computer access

Animal Lover | Aug 18, 2019
Jessica Varang | Aug 18, 2019

Hi there! I think it depends on what program/browser you are printing from. The first page is free - it is 15cents per page after that. If you have a library card, you don't have to stop by the front desk at the libraries - you can just hop on a computer, enter your card number, and accept the terms. You can use the computers for up to 90 minutes if no one is waiting. If you do not have a library card, ask the front desk for a guest pass and that will give you 60 minutes of computer access. If you need help printing or anything else, just ask the librarians. They are happy to help! :)

What do the cards do.(evrything)

Hi Wyatt! Lisa provided great info below! Your library card allows you to check out a limit of 40 items (with a limit of 7 DVDs), download 10 ebooks/eaudiobooks at a time, gives you access to place holds on thousands of items from all eight of our libraries in the system (so you can pick them up at your home library rather than drive across the county!), and grants you computer access. You can also access our online databases, too! Let us know if you have any further questions or you can call us at 509-684-6620. Thanks!
