I haven't heard about paws having any kind of therapeutic companions. That doesn't mean that there could one day be a rescue dog that was previously trained.
I dont think so but call and see.
Many service animals are trained in different ways and some are trained specific to the individual's personal needs. With this being said, Paws Chicago, IMO, may not be the best place to fit your needs. A LCSW may have access to adoption centers or training centers to suit your individual needs. If I can locate a good reference website then I will repost. As for Paws Chicago, they seem to take decent-good care of the animals but won't care about your needs, fears, or concerns as a human. They are very judgemental and not helpful in states of emergency. They intake lost animals but refuse to let registered parents see their animal companion. For example, I was sent to the Southside after they lied and said my service animal was in transport to animal control. I severely panicked fearing that my 11 year old beautiful girl could be euthanized. I couldn't even function. Word to the wise, go to a place who truly cares about all living beings!
