Nice park…Nothing negative to say unless you want grass. I don’t mind this kind of ground at a dog park. Water and bowls are there and bags to pickup after your dog.

Best Friends is where I met and fell in love with my American pitbull Angelica! She has been such a blessing in my life. Angelica has brought so much love and joy to my home and is my constant companion. Everyone at Best Friends was so helpful and kind. If you are considering adopting a pet, Best Friends is the place to discover a True BEST FRIEND!

Me and my fiance went there for the first time on saturday (8/28/21) hoping to adopt a puppy and thankful to say in the end left with the cutest puppy. Our experience was better than expected. Unfortunately we cannot remember the name of the staff member that helped us, but she was amazing. She was very nice, knowledgeable and answered every question we had. If you are looking to adopt come here to Best Friends Animal Society.
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
This facility is called NKLA. Which stands for No Kill Los Angeles. Rest assured.
The adoption fee is around $30. You can take your new pet home the same day
There is an attached clinic to the facility. They do low cost vaccines and nails. Call!
Have you also tried cat rescues? I've heard pretty good things about cat bungalow I think they're called
As far as I know, they have training programs at the pet company that is located in Pasadena, the pets delight, which is also located in Pasadena or you can look for pet smart here in LA. All these facilities have dog trainig programs. I suggest that you visit these stores personally to see if they can help you find what you are looking for. Good luck!
It depends on a few things (if the dog needs any additional vaccinations/if the dogs requires multiple sessions before adopting) but usually yes.
Here's the update from the website which is still in effect: COVID-19 UPDATE: The Best Friends Lifesaving Center in Mission Hills is closed to the public. However, our team continues to move animals directly into forever homes with the help of technology, greatly reducing personal contact. If you are interested in adopting a pet, please complete our dog adoption survey or cat adoption survey or kitten adoption survey to provide us information about your lifestyle and what you are looking for in a dog or cat. An adoption specialist will be in touch with you within 48 hours via phone or email to advise next steps. Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support for the animals of Los Angeles during these unprecedented times. https://la.bestfriends.org/
Hi Griselda! Are you looking to adopt kittens, or are you looking for assistance in getting 4 kittens adopted?
Please call them tomorrow to ask what they recommend. It's an excellent no kill shelter and they're very kind, knowledgeable and helpful. Best of luck finding a good safe home for your kitty.
Yes you can volunteer there but you have to take a one-day class I think the class is like one or two hours but you can call them and they'll give you more information
https://la.bestfriends.org/adopt
Go to this link volunteers.bestfriends.org
I believe LAAS can take care of wildlife, so maybe you should contact your nearest LAAS shelter.
Your best answers is to go to their website. Here you will find everything you need and what their requirements are for adopting a pet. https://la.bestfriends.org/adopt
No, it is 15.00 with appointment 20.00 without appointment. Www.snpla.org
Take it to your local LAAS shelter. You should be able to find one on Google. Don't bring it to Best Friends, as they won't be able to take it.
I think you're on the wrong business page. BFLA is a pet adoption center, they don't board dogs.
You'd have to call and ask what breeds they currently have.
Yes they will take your cat and to get him a home.
Unfortunately BFAS does not take animals from individuals. All their rescues come from shelters. The owners would have to relinquish the costs at West Valley or East Valley Animal Shelter..
12-15 years old , parent or guardian WITH VOLUNTEER and with cats or kittens is my understanding 16 for dogs
15 to go alone. If under 15 you have to go with parent
Yes they do. It is the door to the right of the main entrance. We took our dog there. It is low or no cost. Depends on income. Ask them they will help you. The Vet was so nice. They have a shot clinic also.
They do have low or no cost clinic. Call them
Maybe the shelter can advice on programs that can help pay for litter and food. Is the neglect out of financial necessity or laziness?
As far as I know they don't have restrictions regarding the dog's size.
No you can just go in and look around. If you want to see a specific dog out of its kennel then you have to go to the front desk, they ask you to fill out a survey to see if the dog is a good fit for your home, then if it is, you're allowed to go see the dog.
It is not an intake facility, you would need to go to City Animal Services.
Best Friends doesn't take in lost/found stray animals. They will provide you with LA County Animal Control so you can just Google it and there'll be a bunch of phone numbers listed, there's a different phone line depending in the area you're located and you can also request more information online.
Take them in!
When you adopt it's like signing a contract. Age is 18
Best Friends only takes Animals from other Shelter's. They don't take directly from the public. If that was your question?
According to their site, July 2nd - 4th 10AM - 4PM fee waived adoptions for dogs and cats at our Best Friends Lifesaving Center: 15321 S Brand Blvd Mission Hills CA 91345 July 3rd & 4th 10AM - 4PM fee waived adoption for select dogs and cats at our NKLA Pet Adoption Center: 1845 Pontius Ave West Los Angeles CA 90025 Normal adoption fees: Dogs* Dogs 6 months and younger: $150 Dogs older than 6 months: $100 *A $20 dog license fee applies in the city of Los Angeles. Cats Cats and kittens: $25
It should be but be aware of the very high adoption fees out there.
Thank you for reaching out to Best Friends and making adoption your first and only option when welcoming a pet into your family. As an animal rescue organization, we work with our shelters here in Southern CA to pull dogs and cats from their facilities as part of a collaborative effort to reduce shelter deaths in our state.. While the shelters do see all types of different breeds, they typically get adopted pretty quickly directly from the city shelters. Our priority is on the animals who have no other options. We definitely encourage you to check out a website called petharbor.com which allows you to search for specific breeds from local rescues and shelters. We hope this information helps. Thank you again for choosing adoption. Our mission to end the killing of animals in shelters would not be possible without the support of informed and caring community members like yourself. -peg
Hi Linda! We have many pets available for adoption, you can find them listed on our website at la.bestfriends.org/adopt. Thanks!
Thank you so much for helping the kittens in your community. It can seem like a daunting task, which is why we created our kitten resource page (nkla.org/kittens), where you will find almost everything you need or want to know about helping kittens that you have found. If you have any additional questions or need additional advice, we have a hotline, a form and an email address listed on the page where you can contact us. Hope this helps in the future!
Sorry, we do not offer veterinary clinic/microchip services to the public. However, you can reach out to SNP LA (snpla.org). SNP LA operates the clinic on our premises. We hope this information is helpful!
Hi there! Our adoption center only has dogs and cats, but LA Animal Services has rabbits. You can view their adoptables and fees here: http://www.laanimalservices.com/adopt/adoption-fees/ -peg
Hi Dale. Thanks for reaching out. We are really sorry to hear that your sister is no longer able to care for her beloved pets. The Best Friends Lifesaving Center is a high-volume pet adoption center and we are not able to take in pets from the public. We are exclusively pulling pets from the six city shelters of Los Angeles Animal Services as we work collaboratively to make Los Angeles a no-kill city. We invite you to reach out to our coalition partners and see if they are able to help rescue. You can view a complete list of our partners here: http://nkla.org/about/coalition-partners. Please be aware that most of the groups are run strictly by volunteers and there might be a delay in response. -peg
I would suggest checking the website for pictures of available pets to start and then call to make an appointment.
You can call to see how long the line is if any. Sometimes there is a line in the morning.
No
Hi Lisa! I'm not quite sure what your questions is. Are you looking for our adoption fees? Dogs 6 months and younger: $150 Dogs older than 6 months: $100 Cats and Kittens are $25 Are you looking for low cost spay/neuter and veterinary services? SNPLA offers these services and is adjacent to our Mission Hills center at 15321 Brand Blvd, Mission Hills, CA 91345 . Hope this information is useful to you! -peg
Kitties, older dogs and cats, I don't think I seen any puppies or any other kind of pets.
It costs about 25 and vaccines vary prices and sometimes have specials
I'm sure you could visit BUT the separation anxiety would increase each and every time you would walk away. It adds trauma to the initial surrender and compounds the disappointment, like "why are you not taking me with you? What did I do wrong? I don't understand?" Not knowing how old you are, if you really want to keep your dog, maybe consider getting your own place?
Call to make an appointment. They're always busy.
No I'm sorry Best Friends does not take in animals from individuals. All their animals are pulled from the shelters. They advise to take them to your local shelters.
You'll have to call them to find out!
Not sure but I would call and see what their clinic offers
They have a variety of dogs to choose from. Their adoption fees are very reasonable. On Friday, November 29, 2019 from 6am -8pm all adoption fees for all pets will be waived.
Check with all animal rescue groups and local shelters for temporary foster care!
Absolutely call Animal Friends Rescue Project. If they can't help, they will know who can!!
No they haven't reached out to me yet and I don't wanna take it to them if they don't accept him, fingers crossed they answer soon.
The cats are chipped all the INFORMATION will pop up once the cat is scanned. Congratulations new proud owner of a cat child 😁✌🌺
Volunteers must be at least 12 yearsold and volunteers between the ages of 12 and 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times
I wish j could take him but I already have three dogs. I wish I could help
Yes they do!
They have a list of low cost spay/neuter clinics on their website.
She's absolutely correct!😄
If you adopted a kitty from them they prob already spayed/neutered. They have a clinic on site you can call
They have promotions every now and then, you would have to keep checking their website to see when they may have free adoptions.
I guess wait or find another location that will do the procedure. But really debbie.....
Harold, what kind of dog is it!
I sure there is. Sorry about your loss. Good luck.
No appointment needed. Just go in the building.
Yes they do have some cats between those ages. You can check out their website to see what cats they currently have
Cats are usually $25 but there are promotions now and then. At the moment there are only a few cats available, but you can always check their website to see the cats before you visit!
Best Friends doesn't take animals from the public, you'll have to find your local shelter or a rescue
We visited other shelters before adopting our Dolly She is the best dog ever. I highly recommend Best Friends for the caring and helpfulness.
Best Friends is the best. Got our friend,Dolly, there and she's the best dog ever. They are a no kill shelter. Save your pet!
They don't do any neutering themselves
The process for adopting a pet starts with a walk thru so you can see which animals are available. You are not allowed to touch but you can try to talk and interact with the pets. Once you find a pet or some pets that appeal to you, you go to the front desk and let them know which animals you want more info on. The person at front deak goes over all their records with you from medical history to behavior and health. If they have been in a foster home then their foster home habits and actions are also included. Once you choose which animals you might consider you are then taken to interact with them to see if it is a good fit.i suggest you bring the children with you to interact as well and see how things feel.
Best friends is THE best! We adopted the smartest, sweetest, most lovable girl ever. We consider ourselves very fortunate that we went to Best friends and the helpful people there introduced us to Dolly who has filled our lives with much joy and love.
You may want to call them at the number shown.
I would say yes. I took my other dog in to be sure she got along with the new dog. But I would let them know first. Good luck.
Give them a call! I got mine there for free!
Get a dog trainer.
This facility is not an open clinic for the public. You'll have to go to East Valley Animal Shelter. I suggest you call and make an appointment.
Yes
I dont think it matters about their age except you want to withhold food if they're older. But yes, you will need to make an appointment for spaying/neutering.
Just east of Sepulveda on Brand
Booster shot have to be given in a timely manner, so yes.
There is a Spay Neuter Clinic on premises. They're called SNP LA. Best to contact them directly for prices or look them up online.
Thank you for contacting Best Friends LA. Our facility is currently only a high volume adoption center and we are unable to take in pets from the general public. We are working with the city shelters to pull pets from their locations only to help make LA a no-kill city. I do recommend you try to reach out to our coalition partners and see if they are able to help rescue. You can view a complete list of our partners here: http://nkla.org/about/coalition-partners. Please be aware that most of the groups are run strictly by volunteers and there might be a delay in response. Thank you for caring for the animals.
Adoption fees vary. I paid $10.00 + a collar. It is usually $25.00, but sometimes it's free.
Maria Aleman are you asking if you can surrender dogs in here or are you looking for adoption they do both and if are asking about the clinic they are professionals taking care all kind of pet bird dogs cats and many more
No. They don't. Take it to a City Shelter. If you're in the Valley, there's the East Valley Shelter.
Depens on what type of animal dog, cat , other. Also depens on size. So be prepared to spend anywhere from 120 to 200
Take him back to Best Friends
They dont take dogs but they have aninals for adoption and a clinic..but tp drop off animals only van nuys city animals shelter
They have a working cats program. They're in Mission Hills. Call them.
Possibly, to find out more log on to volunteer. Bestfriends.org
No they not but why you are worried about it. You think your house it's not good for a pet let me tell you they need love doesn't matter if you rich or poor they need family FRIENDS FOR PETS is a very nice place the adoption charges are not espensive. Let your self be love from a pet💕
There is usually a small adoption fee. Around $25.
You should take them to the shelter but just to let you know if the cat doesn't get along with people in certain time. They put them down(the shelters) if the cat used to live in the street is hard for them to behave as I said take them to the shelter and let friends for pets know you concern about them don't forgot. To take the identification number it shuold star with "A" and please note "FRENDS FOR PETS NEEDS DONATIOS " it's how they can help animals in need ☺
If you aren't able or it seems dangerous, you can call animal control, but their catch methods are rough, and they will use catch poles, if necessary, and those scare the poor baby! !
Call to ask if it is a no-kill shelter, please! If it's a particular breed you may find a breed rescue group that will help you, even with supposedly "dangerous breeds" , which is not breed, but the way it was raised. At any rate, they may be able to point you in the right direction, or try tour vet's office, sometimes they'll let you post a re-homing picture and info on their info boards!
I believe its free mama or or call any animal shelter to give you information.
Not sure. Give them a call. They will give you all the info you need. They are really nice people there.
As I understand it, the shelter does not allow animals that are found by people, unless they return an animal they adopted
Yes the accept animals but not always and there is a process you have to go through. They don't accept aggressive or fearful animals. Additionally they don't accept animals when there is no room due to limited staff and resources. However this is a no kill shelter so it's definitely worth it to at least try. Good luck.
They run different promotions. I got my dog in December for $18. That was just her and her city license. No extras. If you are going with the plan of getting a pet you can always take your own leash and collar!
They do not take animals there. Call them and ask where to take it.
Sorry - All the animals have to come through the Los Angeles (I think City) Shelters. I used to volunteer at the Baldwin Park Shelter and they are not one of them ! I wish you could - because Best Friends is SO much better.....but maybe your cat can get transferred there.....
Volunteers are always needed and welcome
Unfortunately, they don't accept lost cats/dogs at this location. You'll need to go somewhere else.
Absolutely, call before you go and get the times they are open for showing.
You will need to call them for your answer. They are a very large place and may have birds.
Yes, you can. I was there with friends looking at cats and they receive many and lots of people adopt them.
Vaccination clinic at Best Friends LA (Mission Hills) is open every day except Tuesday, 9 to 4.
Go in and talk with them to find the right dog for you. You can search adoptable dogs online.
You can look on petfinder or their website
Only feral animals receive an eat tip when being fixed. This is so when they are released back to the wild, they will not be caught and put to surgery again for no reason. Any animal that is not feral does not get the ear tip.
You have to be 18 or older so that you are legally able to claim responsibility for the pet.
