Yes they are a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit.
They don't sell the dogs, you pay an adoption fee and a dog license. Less than at some other places. They neuter all dogs and get their shots up to date. I adopted my dog for a total of $127 including, the adopting fee and license. He came with the shots and neutered.
They also help cats and other animals but as for the non profit question yes they are. Some of their large donors are very cool celebs and legit people/orgs so that is positive too
