I swear not a single person there has had any kind of actual training. Good lord. First off, good luck getting an appointment. Second, god forbid you actually have to call them. You'll get bounced around before somebody finally transfers you to the EMERGENCY ROOM instead of Eligibility. Just wow...

Working here, is great and I would love to go back. Trying to return, is a headache. The departments, need help and tell you, they can hire and train you. When you apply, the HR reps.do not want to refer you, do to your exp. And they have no knowledge about the positions, so a person can not return!! The V.A. has taken away the Human Resource Office and hired these so called reps. This is causing problems with people getting hired or returning. Yet they are complaining of no help!! If they would change their ways and return to a common sense system, they would get help. The orientation is a week long thing and if you leave the VA, even for a day, you have to go through the whole thing again. It is a waste of tax payers and the government's money. Also it is a waste of your time. A person, gone less than say, 5 years, should not have to go through this. Also a person has to travel to the Murfreesboro Campus, for orientations, even if you are going to work in Nashville!! When you do not have a car, it is very hard to do. They need to provide shuttle service between Nashville and MURFEESBORO. VA needs to return again having orientations at both campuses. Also returning employees should only have to go for one day to get physical and name badges. If they would change their ways, people, including me would return!! The reps. that they have, do not want to help if you are having problems with paper work. You can send and send them emails, they will not respond. If you send an email saying, you backing out or not going through with the application, they respond in a minute or two saying, thanks and have a nice day. This is NOT GOOD for new or returning employees. They need to have better reps and computers, at both csmpuses, for employees to talk to and use.

This is my first visit to the Dermatologist. I will start as I go through everything. Getting to the building alone is a nightmare. No signs are pointing you to the right way or entrance. I had to walk around until I found it. I had to stop by the restroom before going to my appointment. The bathrooms are disgusting ๐คฎ they need to gut it out and build new ones entirely. As I went into the dermatologist department, the people working the desk were insulting and pretentious. All the veterans have hearing aids and can hardly walk, and the people working there are rude. The doctors are great, but not the workers. You need to get new staffing and completely remodel the whole place. It seems like everyone is from the 70s. VA administration needs to control this because I will let everyone know as I visit. I am trying to call the clinic to get scheduled for physical therapy and a pulmonary function test, but no one answers or hangs the phone up.

I now get almost all pf my care here, and I love it. They get a bad rap from some of my acquaintances, but I I have rarely had a complaint. In fact, my only issue with them is the inability to get through to someone on the scheduling phone line. I donโt remember the last time I got through to someone on the line.

Go there.
Yes they have a Dental clinic. You have to qualify & make an appointment. Call the main campus for details.
They are actually very helpful. You just have be patient and talk with a case worker to get you what you need.
I do not think so. You have to go to the E.R. @ the hospital.
If you go to the E.R. at the V.A., they should be able to confirm your enrollment and be able to treat you. Just be sure to have your V.A. I.D. with you when you go
Two thirty or twelve thirty Saul?
Depending on your county. Check with your county veterans office. Many offer free van services to appointments at the main campus. Then from there the hospital will provide shuttle services to other locations.
Social Security office Nashville
Agree. The ER is the quickest way. DD214 and 2 forms of ID. After that visit, see social services fir assignment to a primary care provider. If a war vet within 5 years of discharge, you would go through Post Deployment for care to start. But ER first since in acute pain.
The only way to walk-in, is through the E.R. entrance
Covid restrictions implemented by both Vanderbilt and the VA have cut off all thoroughfares between the 2 hospitals. They have yet to be restored to pre-pandemic access
Nashville has a plethora of hotels available if you willing to pay to stay.....
I have no idea. My hips and joints are deterring but I don't need any surgery yet.
I know for Orthopedic Surgery they informed us that patients were allowed one visitor at a time, but I was outpatient, I do not know visitation policy for in patients. That was as of the end of September
Hi Terry, an aberrations is a departure from what is normal, usual, or expected, typically one that is unwelcome. Hope that helps. I would need more info to comprehend how the phrase was used, to help further.
Talk to your PCP (Primary Care Provider)
If you don't already have a primary care physician there, it is a dreadfully slow process to get to your first appointment. Depending on your situation, the quickest route may be to present yourself at the ER.
You can't call clinics directly anymore unless they have given you an extension. The old numbers send you to central call center. I have tried several of the clinics I use and end up back in same place.
Yep record release 1st floor
I've heard of bad experiences at other VA facilities but to be 100% completely honest, I cannot think of a single instance where I experienced poor care while seeing doctors and staff at the Nashville campus. I've had several surgeries and must be seen several times a year by doctors here and only have praises to sing on their behalf. I cannot speak to the nearby Murfreesboro campus as I have not been seen there, but I have not heard anything negative about it either. If you do come to Music City, I believe that you won't find anything to worry about concerning the care that you will receive at this VA facility. ๐
I live in Woodlawn, had to go to Nashville to get mine
Times vary based on patient demand and how far they're backlogged. I've been behind as long as 5 months but also gotten it like within 3 weeks.
Patient advocate can be found by asking at info desk or usually a sign in clinic or specialty area your appointment is in.
No Tennessee valley VA is its own entity. You can probably get it done. Just bring you prescription or bottle and be prepared to wait a bit.
Visit Nashville VA hospital and speak with the pharmacy or a counselor...
I am unsure I apologise
VA first, then if necessary VETERANS CHOICE for local providers
What kind of information? Unless the patient has authorized you via release, you can't. That falls under HIPPA.
Sometimes they do get busy I'm a vet too
Contact the VSO... there's one that has walk in first come first served hours right in the hospital.
You can go online search " DD214, St. Louis" you can request it from there. No charge.
My father, a WW2 Vet had Alzheimer's and the V A helped with his care right up to the end placing him in a facility during his last days.
You need to address your request to thr VA Regional Office at 801 Broadway, not the Hospital. Hospital doesnt make adjutication on VA benefit claims.
So what is your question
There is also a new service from Lyft that is free for veterans going to a scheduled medical appt. Reach out to Lyft or United Way for info.
Whatever hours you need them to be. They never sleep. ๐
Wait time @Nashville VA varies.. depending on the day it is, time, & your reason for being there!! I've been going there for over 20+ yrs & have been to ER many times!! Lots, spent all day & had to be sent to be admitted to hospital on 3 different occasions. Not pleasant!! Can tell u good & bad experiences. Good Luck. Charlotte Mondelli, Air Force Veteran
8 am-9pm
Yes
Dr Emerson is one of the head doctors
Yes office opens at 8 go to the front desk they will do it for you
Google working for the VA. There are plenty of VA.gov websites that will guide you. Only use. Gov sites. Or, go to your nearest VA.
What they do is if you are from out of state and have to have a major procedure they work with you to get your family setup in local accommodations
Dumb question! The VA is for veterans! Dah!
