I have been calling the eye clinic for four days and waited on the line for 1 to 2 hours with no assistance. Is there any other way to get an appointment. Thanks

There are many just plain lLAZY people mostly NON-VETERAN employees that really only care about that Check ,$. And there are a bunch of Great men and Women there that hands are tied by the Bureaucrats!

Randy yes I have many times and if it is a delay in getting a call back it is because the VA very underfunded and doesn't have enough employees to actually accomplish the things that they need to accomplish the VA doesn't get the money promised or the funding promised by the White House whoever you want to name as far as who's making the problem worse and point at them not the VA sometimes it very likely is the is the reason for not being called back. I was at the VA 1/15/2020 and had 2 people working at the check in and appointment setters that is required to have 5 people doing that job. Shame on the white house and not our VA's that care for us

Eye care at Nashville VA is a joke! My husband had a severe eye burn in 2018 and had to go through an outside provider (my eye doctor is an awesome optometrist and had him seeing near 20/20 for the first time in many years after a year of treatment). When he went into the VA for his eye appointment, they told him it was the same as his last exam. It wasn't. He was in the VA 3 times in 2018 and each time it was the same...a waste of time. I do NOT recommend their eye care services.

FYI My veteran friend recieved a letter stating all eye appt.'s have been canceled through Sept. Of 2019. No reason given. Hope this helps answer your question.

They are incredibly busy. It may be better to go there or contact patient advocacy. They do everything from regular eye exams to surgery. Also has your PCM put in a referral?

Jacob Peterson | Oct 15, 2018

This is probably the worst health care facility in the us. Cockroaches, a broken automated system, trailers for rented machinery... it might as well be in a 3rd world country. Sure, just drive 2 hours there to schedule an appointment for 2 years down the road, sounds great.
