Live this airport. Medium sized, easy to get in and out. Domestic and international flights. There is cell phone park Very convenient before the terminal. Short and long term parking and a few private companies operating private parking nearby.
Now if you donβt have luggage you can go to express exit area, not crowded and easy pick up.great signage and clean bathrooms. Recent huge renovation and extension.ππΌ

The Tampa Airport is easy to navigate with good signs for arriving passengers to get from the gate to the baggage claim area. The facilities are average, with a little bit of grunge. On the way from the gate I noticed several shopping areas and restaurants. Baggage seems to be slow getting from the plane.

Attractive airport and laid out very efficiently. Easy in and out on my first visit to Tampa. I utilized the trains for both terminal and car rental facility connections; I never waited more than just a few minutes. Terminal C had great dining choices and excellent runway views to please this aviation geek.

Big airport but run smoothly. Nicely decorated and plenty of eateries to choose from. When we landed and made it to baggage claim our bags were coming out. So we didn't have to wait forever for our bags. We rented a car and had to take the shuttle seemed like a ways away but good signage which made navigation a breeze to get to where we needed to go.
On monday, september 17, we arrived in tampa at 11:02 a.m. I have rented a vehicle in Alamo, and they give me 1 hour of time to pick it up (otherwise the reservation falls, so says Despegar) ... do I have time to pick it up? It is accessible ?

The road is long, I have been uncomfortable to get to the rental car positions, I do not think that for an hour the reservation will fall because they know the delay time and if the airline arrived on time or not, my recommendation is that you Communicate with the lessor via e-mail and explain your problem with your reservation number or that you pick up the car at 2:00 p.m. Greetings and have a nice trip
I have TSA pre-check and live 45 minutes away. When I have a flight at like 8:15a in the morning I wake up at 5:30a and leave the house by 6:15a. Checked luggage stops 45 minutes before your flight for Southwest so I give myself 30 minutes wiggle room. The TSA pre-check let's me skip the long lines.
Yes inbound and outbound full schedule for Southwest. The more the storm shifts east the better for TIA. Always check website for specific flights , they are full leaving tampa
They have signs Blue and Red with the airlines names on them that will say arrival and departure. Keep your eyes open for the specific airline your looking for. They may have it on-line if you Google it.
Located on the third floor of the Tampa International's main terminal, USO Tampa Bay is open 15 hours a day from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. The new center provides classic USO programs and services such as Internet and phone access, laptops, snacks and beverages.
When will there be more direct flights to European cities? There's only England, Switzerland and Germany. Tampa has a sister city in Sicily, but no direct flights to Italy? Please respond when there are plans to add these connections in the near future.

Hi Chef P.
1. TPA is not an international hub, and I am quite greatful they have international flights to begin with.
2 I suppose your request should be directed to the airlines, not the airports.
Well I guess if you're flying they all should be open on Christmas day I'll you know I don't travel on Christmas Day we always be there Christmas Day Christmas Eve you might be lucky
You can't go past security points. I have received a pass to help at other airports, in which you can go thru security without a ticket. You can go to baggage claim, upper level and where the trains pick up with out any restrictions.
O YEA ππ€ & THE NEW ADD ON WILL TAKE SOMETIMES & WILL MAKE IT EASY 4 EVERY PASSENGER & PLUS IT WAS ALL OVER THE NEWS HAS WELL, I WENT 2 SELF AWESOME
@ Destiny Perez. I used Uber and I found them to be amazing. It actually asked what terminal and texting the driver allowing them to know know what colors I had on. Was timely.
That's probably your best bet, Mary. There is ground transportation...cabs, ubers/lyfts, buses who show up at the airport to pick up passengers. But if you scheduled a shuttle, you'd be guaranteed to have a ride where you needed to go.
When you exit the terminal after arriving, I suggest following the signs for "rental cars / ride shares". If you keep following this sign, it will take you where you need to go. The airport does a good job directing you -- the signs are prominent.
Mask is required, boarding pass and ID or Passport. Also need to be at least 2 hrs ahead of time although everything runs smoothly it is sometimes crowded, it all depends the time and day
There's a number of good restaurants on the main terminal level but you would need to pick up your luggage first. However, it's very easy to find your way at this airport. Love TPA.
Yes it's on Short Term Parking Level 9.
(Long Term could also certianly have it as well but I only know ST)
It looks particularly great at night you can see literally all of Tampa Bay:
Downtown skyline.
Bucs Stadium.
International Plaza.
The new Sky Center One operations center.
And of course all the lights and the runways and buildings of the entire airport.
It's really a great mood.
Level 9 man. Hit it up!
The is a tram that takes you to the rental car center. There are elevators that will take you to any level you need with no requirement for taking steps.
I recently used the parking service at TPA and did some research ahead of time. You can park in any of the three in reality, cost and convenience is the difference with economy being the cheapest and furtherest away. Having said that there is a frequent train service and bit of a longer walk required. If you do opt ahead of time prepaying will give you a discount as well.
Each passenger may carry liquids, gels and aerosols in travel-size containers that areΒ 3.4 ounces or 100 milliliters. Each passenger is limited to one quart-size bag of liquids, gels and aerosols.
The airline provides travel requirements for each destination. It tells you what documentation you need. Negative test results document from doctor. Vaccination document card.
Depends. It's expected to be high if you park in the terminals garages $20 or more... Or you could park at one of their park and rides close by to take a shuttle to airport ( $5 - $20)
Drop off is easy the will give you a few munites to stop by the terminal. When the person exits the vehicle, you are not allowed to park the. Short term parking is free for less than an hour if you have too much baggage.
It is very easy. There is a rental car center located at the airport. Follow the signs. Once you return the car, the monorail will take you right to the terminal.
They have announcements, specific to changes. Otherwise, they automatically announce that the belt will begin to move, produces buzzer warning and then moves.
What additional info do you need?
Return it to the car rental agency at the car rental terminal behind the Post Office next to economy parking. If you have luggage you may be able to check it in at the car rental terminal. Five or six of the airlines now have check in there. Either way you then need to take the sky shuttle to the main terminal. If you need to check in you need to go down to the second floor to your airline check in. If you were able to take care of that beforehand as well as your luggage just go to the third floor(main transfer level) and proceed to your gate. TSA in Tampa is a lot quicker here than in most airports. Just be sure to allow plenty of time. I always recommend two hours. There is plenty to do on the airsides and they have plenty of snack or food options at each airside terminal.
Southwest Airlines is on the red side of the terminal. You can access baggage claim area pick up on a rampa just after passing the Marriot. Be sure to go to the arrivals rampup to the terminal. The Southwest area where you can pick up is towards the far end of the pick up area.
The cell phone lot is open until the last flights come after midnight. You can stay in the cell phone lot for a reasonable length of time to meet your flight pick up. Sometimes flights are delayed. You need to stay with your car. There are bathroom facilities and vending machines in the parking area. Economy, short or long term parking lots are availble for longer lengths of time and are easily accessible to the main terminal.
That is correct. The area along the driveway where the luggage comes out to be picked up is labeled outside the doorways with the airline in that area. Hust look for the southwest sign. If you are early or the flight is delayed you can use the cell phone lot. Another alternative is to take advantage of the free first hour parking in the short term parking lot. Just park on the red side of the garage and then take the elevator down to the first floor. Both elevators on the red side will take you down to the same area. Then you can greet your arrivals at leisure and nit have to worry about the traffic as much and getting in and out quickly. You can even enjoy a Starbucks coffee if you wish!
Plenty of parking Christmas Eve. Just remember to take pictures of your parking color and remember your Level. Last year there was Plenty and that's before Level one opened. Safe travels
I have not heard of any, or seen any in the restrooms. There is a hotel attached to this airport. If you have a long layover, you could book a room and would have showers available there.
I really can't answer that question. It's been a while since I've been there I would say call them and find out. They may be able to better help you. Sorry for not being much help. Happy finding
Contact them. I believe they have a dedicated shuttle. I've seen it with logos on the bus sides, but don't know where inside TIA the pick up is located
Also called a wait and call lot. Free parking to wait for passenger arrival. They phone you when they are ready to be picked up at baggage claim. Also free WiFi
I am flying out of Tampa tomorrow on spirit, what color is it, red or blue departures? I also have to turn in my rental through dollar rent a car, where is the drop off? Tia.
Dawn Johnson | May 6, 2020
Christopher Ragsdale | May 7, 2020
For Spirit Airlines you would follow the Red lanes for departures but unfortunately I couldn't advise you on rental car returns
I can't remember. When I do go there I'm always dropping someone off. So that question I can't answer. But I would recommend you to Google them. Or call them. To see if they would answer your question
The planes or the entry signage into TIA? TIA has two sides from arrival ( and departure) curb side, blue and red. Not all spirit planes have the same graphics
"See the currency exchange house at the airport"
Yes
Have they added a shuttle from the cell phone lot
mary lou rosenthal | May 6, 2020
Jerry Z | May 7, 2020
Not that I've noticed. Was just there 2 weeks ago. I thought that lot was just to wait in car for a call from whoever you were picking up. Really can't imagine why they would add shuttle, but what do I know????
Will Tampa airport open on Tuesday due to hurricane Dorian

Call them they will tell you
What are your long-term parking rates?
Marc Chamberlin | May 6, 2020
Douglas MacKallor | May 7, 2020
This was copied from the web:
Current parking fees are $20 for a maximum daily rate in the short-term garage, long-term is $16, the economy garage is $9 and valet parking is $25.Jul 2, 2015
So the rates might have increased from four years ago.
Outside long term parking is a lot less. Consider using one of those services.
If you live close by, then consider using Uber or Lyft.
Good luck!
Why do the electric vehicle charging stations in the cellphone lot NEVER work? I called both the airport and chargepoint months ago.
Thomas Garry | May 6, 2020
Douglas MacKallor | May 7, 2020
They probably ran out of gas.
Keep the pressure on. See if there are other authorities above them to address this situation. Start with your representatives.
Good luck!

I fly Southwest Airlines. I avoid the Sky Captain upfront. It is my understanding that these folks are separate from Southwest Airlines. The one time that I used them (and did not know) they demanded a tip.
Southwest Airlines (inside) are professional. I'm sure that they would accept cash for extra/overweight luggage, but a credit card would protect you.
Good luck!
Find out which airline. It will be either the RED or BLUE zone. Go to ARRIVALS and look for passenger pickup. If not there, then you might need to circle around. Tampa Airport is thoughtfully planned. I believe there is a waiting zone that you could temporary wait until your passenger arrives and CALLS you. Good luck!
This airport is very customer friendly. Keep your eyes open. And Read the signs clearly marked. You have a lot of of help. When you check in at Jet Blue counter they will assist you gladly to your gate. I've been in many airports, This Tampa Airport. Is 1 of the best. Everything is clearly marked. Happy travels!! ππ πΊπΌ
Depending on airline and what air side terminal and time of day, 30 to 45 minutes is about right. You can download the TSA app, and be able to check wait time.
Should be no trouble at all as long as you keep them with the same bottle s the pharmacy gave you. Just in case they decide to search/examine each bottle, I'd get there early enough. Enjoy your travels/vacation
I have no idea, of course. But I'd set things up with airline and TSA before going to airport. I've seen people accompany old and young people. It must not be all that difficult to do.
There is an indoor outdoor area at PF Changs to sit and eat at. Starbucks is in the middle and lots of chairs to sit and wait for arriving airplanes/passengers.
This is a great airport and I have had all good experiences there. TPA gives everyone 1 free hour of parking in it's short term garage. You could take advantage of that and go ask someone about the job you are looking for. Best of luck.
You need go at first level arrivals, or first floor just ask the people where they will being, red side wall or blue side wall, and if you are going with your car.
it is very important what color of wall they are being, because the airport has that way for you can pick up the arrivals passenger more easy
I am a lyft driver, I have dropped many passengers off, but never picked up I know I go to cell phone lot but where do I go once passenger has finished with baggage pick up

Peggy Lovelady | May 7, 2019

Depends what airline and if it's a red or blue zone pick up, I believe color is according to the airline. You can pickup outside by airline and is wheelchair accessible
At what time does the mail open

J R H | May 8, 2019
The answer can be found by calling the help desk at the airport.
The answer can be found by calling the airport help desk.
As you drive in you will see your airline on a Red or Blue sign. You can park and wait for free in the "cell phone" lot. Have your person call you when they have arrived, collected there bags and are ready for pick up. Proceed the Red or Blue Arrival pick-up area, look for your Airline, it helps to know what color clothes they have on to help pick them out of the crowd. Safe travels.
When you check in, you can print your boarding pass. You can check in on line at your airline's website or at the airport. You just need your reservation code. If you check in online, you usually have to wait until 24 hours prior to departure. Have a great trip!
Yes.. it's called Tampa Airport Marriott.. it's connected to the passenger terminal. Looks nice from the passenger terminal.. never stayed overnight, though.

Best place to rent a car at the TPA Tampa Airport is online at www.TampaTuro.com
Much lower cost and easier than going to the economy parking garage area where the rental car agencies are located.
Can you tell me the airport or airlines policies concerning electric mobility wheelchairs. I have a friend who wants to accompany me on a flight to Las Vegas. Can he bring his personal electric wheelchair on board a plane?

Hi - For questions about what can and cannot be brought on a plane, we recommend you reaching out directly to the specific airline.
Of I'm picking you p at nlueside JetBlue arrival, is there an indoor waiting area? So I can see them as they walk through terminal. Also is the parking garage short walk to terminal??
N Roman | May 7, 2019

Yes, there is public waiting in the Main Terminal. JetBlue arrives at Airside A - so you can wait in the area outside of the Airside A Shuttle.
No they have to have a Guardian along with the child to check them in

They say 2 hours but I had my boarding pass and only a carry on and I got from the curb to gate in 25 mins. If you check in a bag give yourself an hour because the line can be long and slow. Curb side check in is also quicker. Hope is helped.
When you have an international flight boarding pass you can buy free of tax merchandise in the designated stores at the airport. The boarding pqse has to mqtch the name on your passport, they will ask for it as well.
What is it like to go through security with an animal? I will be flying with 2 cats, will they make me take them out of the carrier?

Check TSA website
I am a LADY, a Professional working mother of 3 minor girls, and your airport is part of a terrible incident that had caused for a already a tragedy or part of it, and monetary losses, in addition to being abused tortured by Tampa Sheriffs
If my husband is flying in from the UK on BA for a connecting flight on AA (both on airside F) does he have to go thru security again? We know he has to go to customs but we're not sure about the security?
Emily Mortimer | May 7, 2019
David Diaz | May 8, 2019
As long as he stays in airside F, and not head back to the main terminal, he will be fine.
If you mean the white phone where you can take a call, there 1 or 2 throughout each gate. But as far as public phones, not at gates, just at the terminal.
I did mine at the tsa office down stairs in the Red baggage claim area last year. There is construction on going so office may have moved. You should call TSA directly for instructions.
On Southwest she is a youth traveler and she will deplane by herself. You can obtain a NPE (gate pass) to be at gate when she arrives. Southwest doesn't charge any fees for 12 years old. They will treat her great , they just dont sign over gaurdianship upon arrival. Every airline has different ages and fees so check.
Yes there is. At least in the Southwest terminal. It is a secure outdoors patio behind RumFish Grill. You do not need to pass thru security when re-entering from outside.
Yes, you can have all personal meds on you. They've never given me a problem. Even my mother who has to take insulin. They've never said anything about her needles.
At the check-in area, let an employee of your airline know you want a wheelchair. Someone will pick you up and take you where you need to go (including bathroom or to grab food/drink before you get to your gate) Good luck! Feel better!
1 minute ride, the train loops every 2 minutes. So if you miss it no worries it'll be back in 2 minutes. Best way to enter and exit airport is via that train, no congested terminal traffic.
