My 12 year old granddaughter would like to fly into Tampa. She’s never flown alone. Can I meet her at the gate? She is unfamiliar with the shuttle system. Or, would a flight attendant escort her to the shuttle from the arrival gate?

On Southwest she is a youth traveler and she will deplane by herself. You can obtain a NPE (gate pass) to be at gate when she arrives. Southwest doesn't charge any fees for 12 years old. They will treat her great , they just dont sign over gaurdianship upon arrival. Every airline has different ages and fees so check.

Flight attendant will escort her to you. Either at gate or after shuttle, just be sure she flies as unaccompanied minor let the airline she's flying know that's what you wish to do meet her at the gate or have flight attendant is scored her talk directly to the airline so they know that she's passenger thats meeting ,you & that she needs that extra attention, :) Nothing much to do with the airport just the airline directly make sure you speak with them. Hope this for talk text typo helps
