Pros and cons of online or in person. Online is convenient if you are immobile, it just takes a little longer. Make sure you have accurate information, fill in all the blanks. What ever address is on paying credit card is where paperwork will be mailed to. In person is quick but must you also fill the paperwork out correctly. What's good about in person is the corrections can be addressed immediately and you're on your way. Visit the office early and next day you pick it up or have it mailed. Yes. If you are having it mailed, the address on your license must match the address it's being sent to. If you are going back to pick up in person the address can be different. It's much faster to go pick it up anyway but I know it can be inconvenient to go twice. Make sure you have a money order, they do not accept cash/cards.

If you've already paid for your birth certificate then you can go back the same hours as they are open and pick up the birth certificate but after paying it takes about 5 days for them to process your birth certificate so wait 5 days after pain and then go back 5 business days so if you pay on a Friday it will be ready on the next Friday so you can't go back in on Monday and expected to be finished it takes 5 business days

If you got the birth certificate from the Philadelphia Vital Statistics you must take it back to them and show them the error if you got it from the Philly Vital Statistics you should have checked it before leaving and noticed the error and shown it to them right then and there and they would have corrected it before leaving . There are so many places in PA that you can get a birth certificate but one of the places is Scranton Pennsylvania and you can get it immediately after applying with your ID or driver's license and a check or money order for $20 you can get it the same day at Scranton

I read the website and it says a person can use certain other forms of ID such as a voters registration card, several utility bills and other things that have your name and account number on them. You really should read the website before you go because the line is very long and the people who work there are State employees and don't really care about you not having your birth certificate or any other issue you may be there for. Most of the employees are very old and need to retire. The atmosphere in the place is exactly that. People who don't care and are watching the clock towards their retirement date.
