Adopted two kittens. Everyone at Columbus Humane is friendly, professional, and caring. The animals are well taken care off. Exceptional place!

worst animal shelter i’ve been in contact with. Told them a address of puppies who were getting starved, abused, and killed. They couldn’t check up because of how we found the address. it shouldn’t matter how we found it! we found it now do you’re job and go save them puppies !
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
I have 5 cats that my roomate fed. My roomate moved out. And i can't feed them. I had a stroke. Could you help me please? I would like to know if you can come & collect them?
They will I think, call and ask them, they will make an appointment for you to come in. My friend had to give her cat up, and they they took him. I called a few weeks later and they said he was adopted.
Yes absolutely not okay. That would be considered animal abuse
they will give you an appointment for the dog to see the vet and then another to drop it off I believe it's 30
Try cat welfare on whetmore rd close to morse rd off Indianola ave they keep cats there that are unable to adopt out.they make them forever cats
Rascal Animal Hospital in Dublin or Delaware County humane society walk in clinic are open to people regardless of where they live at discounted rates.
A lot of people adopt animals (especially kittens or rabbits) because they think they're cute, then get tired of the animals when they grow up or when they're too much work to care for. I assume the shelter is trying to discourage impulse adoptions so that the animals they adopt out don't end up coming right back. The adoption fee also helps cover the cost of up-to-date vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, and a microchip.
The Humane Society will help you & if your income is limited they will get your fur baby up to date on its shots & even more. Wonderful place & people
Yes! They have free pet food available on Saturday, and they do accept donations!
You need to call them to make an appt. It's a 2 step process. You can also call other shelters, CHA and Colony Cats & Dogs. Puppies adopt out pretty easy so I'm sure someone will say yes. Good luck, thank you for trying to find them a safe place to land!
If they take her she will most likely be euthanized and if they cant take her its because ppl refuse to spay and neuter so there is no room for additional cats and kittens until they euthanize some.
I think they do put dogs down, best way to find out is call them. 614 777 7387
You didn't set up base camp to make her feel safe before shoving her into an unfamiliar environment? She's scared. Google how to care for cats and how to introduce them to your home. Next time, don't get a pet you're not prepared to take care of.
Cols humane won't euthanize but the Franklin County Dog Shelter WILL euthanize .
Try a rescue
Such a great place and they are always willing to help
There is Cat Welfare & also Sos. Either place should help you for free. Especially if he is a stray & you want to take him in & make him yours. I hope this helps
They might. You should call them.
I believe they always are. There's a big container at the front door.
I believe its 70 dollars donation, they will work with you on cost.
Yes
No the humane society does not do normal pet care, but they can refer you to other resources that could be of help. Sos would be someone to call also.
Right now its by appointments only but give them a call to set up a visit time.. Walk thru meet the fur babies that are available & then sit down with the person that will be there if you find the one for you & they will give you some paperwork to fill out, ask some basic questions but all should be smooth sailing after that. Its a wonderful place to adopt & great people that work there
I know they take towels not sure about sheets
Check with cat welfare they help low income
Call Save Ohio Pets and if you recieve any government assistance you can get him fixed and checkup and shots for free and if more needs done they refer you to the Humane Society for free. These are great programs and caring people. They are listed online.
They all check for health problems or injuries, then they fix them and give them their shots. You would have to go to a private breeder or pet shop for a dog that's not fixed. I wouldn't do that because you usually get animals with health problems not to mention the cost. Don't add to the pet problem, be a solution.
I wondered the same thing. I also seen dog walkers and windered
Yes they currently only do appointments
When you make an appointment from their website to set an adoption time you can list as many dogs as you would like to see. You can find listings of current dogs on the website.
I'm sure they do, if they are animals they adopt out, you can't bring animals to them, that's for a vet office.
They put some of the cats that are available on their website. You may want to look there
I found a very young Mama cat when her litter of 3 kittens at Greenlawn cemetary. WTH all the predators out there (yes, there really are) , they were not safe. We scooped all of them up and took them in. They accepted them.
Call your LLE. If they don't help, call your closest local humane society. Don't be afraid. Help save this dog. 👍
I would bring it to the Ohio wildlife center.
Humane society in Hilliard will take the cat. You have to call and schedule an appt
They do have cat's. Call them. I'm not 100% sure what they're taking in at this time. I took a dog in a few day's ago.
Have not seen her
I believe they will take any animal
This sounds very serious, Get help immediately! Take the animal to the Franklin County Dog Shelter. YOU COULD BR CHARGED WITH ANIMAL NEGLECT IF YOU DO NOT TAKE ACTION!
You have to call see if have any they'll inform you everything then
I don't know who to call about feral cats.
Columbus humane does not kill any animals they are the most wonderful hard working group ever
Carrie I would call , I do not believe that it is a 100$ . And you can also adopt an adult cat for less that's already house trained 🙂 Good luck !
This is not the Dog Shelter this is Ask Google and reviewers answer questions. Call the Shelter, might I suggest checking out Pets Without Parents they are located on Indianola Ave. If you turn right off east north broad the next light you will see a UDF turn right go down maybe 3 buildings it will be the 3rd drive it's a house. They take in animals and they are a non kill shelter. They spade and neuter all the pets, good place..
Call Columbus Humane , you can take her in and they will find her a home .Please don't dump her anywhere they will help you .
Depends a lot on the age of the animal and the type. It costs more for puppies and kittens than our does for adult cats and dogs. Was there a certain animal and age you were looking for?
I took my feral cat and they fixed him for$15.. sometimes they even fix them for free
They will accept however keep in mind there is no guarantees the animals will be adopted out. He could be put down. You may want to Google and see if there are any beshun rescues in the area first..... Maybe try Small Paws Rescue. Google it for contact info
I do have the right number and extension. I'm going to stop by today, thanks
I don't work there but know old newspapers, beds, and blankets are accepted
I had the same issue. You have to keep the cat and take care if it for 2 wks after they examine it and give it shots then after the 2 weeks they will take it. I told them i have a house cat of my own and don't want my cat to get ill or fleas. They gave me the # to cat colony and some other cat welfare places. Not much luck, they had to many as it was. Good luck. Still see my stray strolling neighborhood 2 yrs later. She looks better though.
No there isn't an outside drop off kennel or anywhere for anonymous drops. You go into the office speak to someone. If your animal is adoptable and they have space they will let you know if they can take it or not.
I would call them to find out. I am not really sure.
Cats are very affectionate maybe try to take them in u may find u like them. They're low mantiance. U could post on social media for a good home or possibly put up a picture w the cat and kittens. She could be someone's cat who happened to have kitties away from home. Or a church. The animal shelters all ready have too many cats and dogs they euthanize....
I think right now they've halted outside adoptions because they just took in over 200 animals seized from a pet store on the westside. Your best bet is to call them. Good luck 👍
Have seen rabbits there for adoption
Yes
The price varies, but mine was $10
Not for a dog. They provide you with a leash and collar however. For a cat...they provide a cardboard pet caddy so you can get your cat home safely.
We do! Please call our team at 614-777-7387 for more information. Thank you!
Hi there - If you are surrendering an animal, you will need to bring it into our shelter by appointment. Our Animal Support Center team can answer any questions you might have at 614-777-7387.
They ask for a fee, but if you can't pay it, they'll still work with you. Good luck!
Hi Jonathan - We recommend making a "found" post on the website petfbi.org in case the owner is looking for the dogs. If you do not want to house the pups while trying to find the owner, they can be taken to the Franklin County Dog Shelter.
Hi there - Yes we do have puppies fairly often. Our website, columbushumane.org, is always up to date with the animals available at our shelter if you would like to keep an eye out. Puppies do get adopted fairly quickly.
Send an email to the shelter or stop in and ask about applications!
Please give our team a call at 614-777-7387 and they can let you know how we can help. Thank you!
We took our dog to our veterinarian she weighed about 25 to 30 pds cost $35
You have to buy licence at the Franklin county auditors office or online
Please give our Cruelty Investigations team a call at 614-777-7387 ext. 250. Thank you!
In addition to multiple monetary options (https://www.columbushumane.org/give) they will also accept donations of supplies (from bedding to grooming) and food. You may also donate your time (https://www.columbushumane.org/volunteer)
No
I had a stray cat hanging around my place and called them. They will let you bring it in for a check up and shots but you have to keep it for 2 weeks and take care of it. If by chance you have already been feeding it then it is considered your pet and no longer a stray. Therefore you are responsible for it. Not right i know. Just trying to help out a poor animal. If i have to do it again i would call them and just tell them it's mine and i can't keep it and see what they say. They will give you other cat shelter info. Good luck.
Please call our Animal Support Center at 614-777-7387 to get some help. Thank you!
Are you looking to adopt or to rehome a current pet? We can actually help with either. You can call 614-777-7387 for help either way. If you are looking for current adoptable animals, you can see them on our web site at www.columbushumane.org. Thank you!

Please call our Animal Support Center at 614-777-7387.
Yes, call the humane society or look to see if that cat is on their website.
I think it may be best to call them about that as they may have questions about the dogs health that used the bed. Incase there's anything to spread. Parvo, flees, digest upset etc.
It's so much fun to play with them, too! You can take the dogs on walks if you bring an ID card to leave with staff. 👍
No they don't it's a about a month process.
Can you get a trap?
Questions here are answered by other visitors, not the organization. You'll have to call them
Yes, an animal can be placed on hold through the next business day for a $20 fee.

If you suspect, animal cruelty or neglect please all right away to report it at 614*777-7387. If the dog is a stray, then you would call animal control at Franklin County.
Hi Nancy, you can call the Ohio Wildlife Center for assistance - 614-793-WILD.
We do have a few currently. The best place to look is on our web site at www.columbushumane.org as we update adoptable animals in real time. Thank you!
It's illegal
Please call our call center at 614-777-7387 to talk to one of our call center associates about your options.

We do accept strays and owner surrenders. Please call 614-777-7387 to speak with one of our call center associates about the process. Thank you!
I think you can only adopt one pet at a time
Hello, I will pass along the information to our animal support center in case we have heard something but you should call Franklin County Animal Control, as they would be the ones to pick them up or they would be taken there as all stray / lost dogs go to Franklin County, so it is easier for people to locate their pups. You should also post on PetFBI. I hope that helps!
If you can't figure out how an animal shelter could possibly have more cats than dogs then you probably dont need to adopt any.
This is a no kill shelter.
You'll need call them and ask. However, I didn't see any reptiles there. OSU has an exotic animals dept that might be able to help.
Thank you for your response. I wasn't sure who to reach out to about this
Call pest control. Neither county animal control, the local police, nor a nonprofit organization, will assist with wild animals.
They do not trap cats but do have a catch and release program for feral cat colony caretakers
Call Sos on West Broad street..
We do partnership clinics with the Franklin County Public Health department and Franklin County Dog Shelter to deliver low-cost services. The next clinic is on August 24th from 1-3pm at the Franklin County Dog shelter.
You would have to call them....I cant answer the question
Great question! We currently do not have that program although we are hopeful to be able to start one after our renovation is complete later in the year. You may want to check with CHA (Westerville) and Franklin County (Morse Rd.).
Yes, we have dogs that have been housebroken. Our adoption counselors are happy to share what information they have available on any animal.
We will re-open to the public tomorrow, Tuesday, June 19th and we are super excited! Come by and see Phase 1!
Yes we do! You can call 614-777-7387 to find out more and they can walk you through the process.
I know they'd rather adopt out Please go get your Kitty. Cats are harder than dogs to place
Sorry! We apologize for not monitoring our Google account in awhile. We do take all types of animal surrenders. Call into our call center so our associates can assist you on the specifics at 614-777-7387. Thank you!
For an adult cat it is usually only 10 dollars. But for a kitten it can be around 30 dollars or more
It's 10 for a cat over a year old. 25 for less than a year old.
Check the website or visit in person. No appointment is needed. Mostly it's the older cats that get passed up. The ones 6 years old or more. You can tell they've been passed up by how long they've been there. My Charlie is 8 and was at the shelter for about 4 months.
Not impossible but you would likely have much better luck with a speciality exotic bird rescue
Yes
They are not a vet office you would need to contact your vet to take your pet in ASAP
Don't be so sure! I was there 2 months ago and they had a big pit bellied pig! Always call and check. If they don't accept the animal, they will at least have resources.
They do not board. Look up boarding kennels in your area by Internet search. Most vets have boarding, and we prefer pet palace for our felines
I found a cat in the middle of the road with no tags and no one around to take it. Im allergic to them. Where can i take it. Id hate to leave it outside
Just leave a message with a callback number.
Yes.
If a parent goes with you can be younger but cant walk dogs till 18
You can make complaint with dog warden possibly
I would highly recommend calling them and also checking pounds. Also leave a picture and info with on PetFBIs site and social media pages to help bring your dog home.
They have specials check online you can see what dogs are available
I know they will, but as mentioned there may be a fee
Can I surrender our dog hear she's very sweet very healthy very. Smart my wife and I are never home we leave at 7 am get home at ten that's no life for cora thanks
Have you tried your vet first?
Is he suffering/in pain? My dog was blind the last three years of his life. Dogs are very adaptable and can live long, happy lives without sight. Do you need assistance or advice on luving with a blind dog? I am more than happy to help! Peace.
I can get the kittens if you would like and pay..it's all my kid's want for Christmas..
You can take them to Cat Welfare 741 Wetmore Rd. If they do not have feline aids they will not be euthanized. If so then they have to. They will run the tests to check.
There is low cost spay neuter clinic
You do not have to pay but they do ask for $60 to help with taking care of the animal. If you don't have it they will still take it.
Hmmm, guess you are bored and want some attention How silly can you be.
