Great airport, easy and no hassles. We were dropping off a friend but had a rare encounter with unusual heavy traffic going into the terminal 2 entrance.
One way to avoid the long line is to exit into terminal 1 and just drive or walk down a bit further to reach terminal 2 departures. A kind parking tenant gave us the advice.

San Diego airline lines can be slow but overall it’s fairly efficient. Gate security lines move fast and there is TSA and Clear. I love the reflection room. Delta Sky Club is upstairs in terminal 2 and always has good choices. Happy Travels!

As airports go, the San Diego International Airport is as good as most. It was well laid out and comfortable. You felt safe, and there were different places to get a bite. No one really wants to hang around an airport, but if you have to, this is a nice one.

This airport was a quiet and pleasant experience for my first time arrival. By the time we deplaned, used the restroom and headed to baggage claim #5, the remaining bags were being gathered already! What? We were the last ones to get our bag, which the airport guy had already put on his cart. I was not expecting the bags at all to be on the carousel!! Getting to the rental car center across the street for the shuttle bus was easy-breezy. Leaving the airport around noon, well my picture says it all.
San Diego airport is about 35 mins from Camp Pendleton, but graduation is held at MCRD, it's beside San Diego airport. Do not go John Wayne airport. BTW... You can stay cheaply on base for graduation, not very comfy beds though. Check with the base for billeting. Congrats on his graduation. Semper Fi!
If you would like a free shuttle you would probably have to go downtown or liberty station with a third-party company. I believe there is one at the Wyndham about a mile away.
Lost and found phone number? Lost my black wallet at Southwest terminal, San Diego between 9am and 10 pm. Ticket counter check in Or security line or gate 9 or Einstein Bagels kiosk.

San Diego International Airport
Lost and Found
3835 N. Harbor Dr. Ste 1097
San Diego, CA 92101
It's in the rental car building across the highway (that houses the rental car agencies likehertz, avis companies). There's a free bus that does trips there and back too which is very handy.
Excellent, International airport, 5 min to get through TSA, good food & beverage choices. Nick you are spending way too much time in small town of Chico, gotta get out more
I arrived to San Diego this morning, September 15, 2017. I had my New Mexico issued identification card. Within a span of a few hours, I lost my ID card. How do I return w/o it?

You just need to show up early to security, and explain your situation. Check out what they say on tsa.gov.
Are dogs allowed in Arrival area
Gabrielle Oetegenn | Sep 1, 2018
Gladwin Mendez | Sep 1, 2018
Yes I believe so. I saw a number of dogs around when I last visited.
I'll add when you exit the baggage claim areas in either terminal you will use the designated crosswalks to cross the street of main traffic directly outside once you get to the other side you will see the shuttles and there should be plenty of personnel to assist you if need be.
Do yourself and everyone else on the airline a favor and wait until your child is old enough to walk on their own before you fly. Just because the airline allows it does not mean it's s good idea. It's terrifying for them and amazingly trying for all those surrounding you on the plane. Think it through carefully and be considerate of others in your choices.
Sorry for your loss. Hang in there. The best time to go as far as volume is around 4 pm on Saturday as well as any night after midnight till 5 am. But do call ahead to make sure they'll be there and expecting you. Take care.
Making yourself familiar with the airport is a good idea. This airport is very well planned and has many signs and numerous helpful staff members dedicated to ensuring a positive experience.
No the airport is still open. I do believe however as it gets worse that they may consider it. So if you're out of town you better bring your butt home quick and they may even start to do some type of Cobra testing at the airport meaning they'll make sure that you're not sick when you land
The truth did not know how to tell you because of all this that is happening from the covid the best thing would be that you book online and so you will have an idea of what hours your flight leaves because in sout west there are only 2 flights per day Asia where I travel
Unless the hotel has it's own complimentary shuttle, it would be best to use Uber or Lyft as public transportation to Mission Valley will take far too long.
When you travel with your dog the best policy is to check with your airline. One of the best airlines for traveling with pets is SOUTHWEST AIRLINES. They have a policy that allows you to have your dog with you in the plane!
Hi Monica, if you travel from Houston to San Diego, you won't have to go through passport control. In addition, when you return from San Diego to Houston, you will not be required to pass through passport control. You will be asked to show an appropriate identification to the TSA, but you will not enter or leave the United States, therefore, you will not run the risk that your residence permit is in process.
For a domestic flight on Delta to the 48 states in coach class the first checked bag is $30 and must weigh under 50 pounds or 23kg. In 1st class 2 bags up to 70 pounds each.
There are 3 places you can purchase cigarettes at the airport. All 3 locations are located on the passenger side (the area before TSA passenger screening area). T1 - Southwest, small snacks and magazine shop next to Starbucks adjacent to the ticket counters. T2East - American/Alaska - Kiosk next to arrival escalators. T2West - Delta/United - Books and snacks store located on the 2nd floor next to Einstein Bagels.
I don't believe they sell flavored cigars. No Vapes, juices, etc.
They lack variety to say the least. Marlboro and maybe 2 or 3 other brands but that's it.
And lastly, the cigarettes sold at the airport will cost you approx. +$14 a pack.
Can i find qatar airways booking office in san diego airport ?

I would check their office locator.
Does the TCP number required to put it on the car front or back for San Diego Airport, is there any laws for that?
Note that I have an airport permit on the windshield.
Thanks
I don't know where you would buy lottery tickets at SAN. Retail space is limited at the airport and I don't recall seeing terminals at the places where one can buy drinks or snacks.
There is an airport taxi, Del Mar Taxi, San Diego Taxi, and a few others. Keep in mind, the trolley leaves straight from the airport and will get you through most of the city.
San Diego Airport parking rates can usually range anywhere from $20/day for long-term lots, $32/day for terminal parking, and $40 per day for curbside valet.
Depending on which airline you fly, alcoholic beverages may be offered during your flight, though I do not believe that you can get them through security.
what is your atm/hr on your runway? Not the projected rates or the average, but the actual called rates. I saw it says 48, but that was in 2014, so was wondering if you had any more recent figures. Thanks.
how do you get from terminal 1 inbound flite to terminal 2 for connecting flite? Do you walk , ride... Do you have to go outside security? Yime estimate?
Jerry Berger | Sep 1, 2019
Chris W | Sep 1, 2019
It's walking distance... Just a couple of minutes. From gate 1 to any other gate you have to re-screen through security. The line depends on what time of day it is
Is there temp baggage storage in Terminal 1?
We want to to the zoo, then head to Rancho Santa Dr to stay. Not renting a car.
Clay Campbell | Sep 1, 2019

Due to security, there is no luggage storage at SAN. You can try bagBNB.
If you are flying in on a personal what is the terminal for that
Chris Trout | Sep 1, 2019

I have no idea what you are asking about. I believe you should contact the airport directly.
Is there a shuttle that goes to the Miramar Marine corps based?

I recommend you contact Miramar directly for that information. Otherwise, this link provides several options: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.rome2rio.com/s/San-Diego-Airport-SAN/Miramar-CA-USA&ved=2ahUKEwjUrd6U1PbhAhVO2qwKHRJ9CNEQFjAAegQIARAB&usg=AOvVaw2PewJ99Z8rAWcbDxXoedhX
They used to have a MTS bus that ran between the train station and the airport every 15 mins. Not sure if there are different methods now? Taxi may even be better.
10 hrs if you don't have a lot of luggage I would suggest visit downtown san diego beautiful place i spent 7 hrs yesterday driving around but i had a rental
Agree with the other poster. The convention center is a good landing spot. Even taking a taxi to Seaport Village, right by the convention center) and hanging out along the shoreline and downtown area. Taxi will be around $15 and takes about 10 minutes from the airport.
A government issued ID is the required document(s). This includes passports, and a passport card within the United States, Canada and Mexico. Within the US, driver's licenses and the new Enhanced Driver's Licenses being issued throughout the United States is acceptable.
Try using the Waze app on your phone. You will be able to see how long it will take to get to your destination when you select a time you need to be there. It is a good navigation tool that avoids heavy traffic routes.
I believe he needs a adult champaron cause of his age. The airline can arrange a employee to ride with him if you can't of course you have papers to sign before the trip.
I'm a uber driver terminal 1 & 2 both terminals are used for drop off . Terminal 1 is the main Alaska kiosk at Terminal 1 when driving go past Southwest Alaska is at the end Terminal 1 signs are big. Terminal 2 they have a drop off above when entering the Terminal 2 entrance stay to the left take the parking and drop-off which is a slight left in and your first slight right you'll go up and head down to the end you'll see the bright signs with the illuminated names Alaska Delta Etc I have heard Terminal 2 is rare from passengers to be dropped off at but I haven't confirmed that yet

There is a shuttle that will take you to your next terminal off its not near by. Maybe get in contact with your airlines an they may give you a comp room for free. Yes you an sit there over night if you have an connecting flight with hours from each other. Call for the comp room!
Due to Transportation Security Administration (TSA) heightened security requirements, all lockers and storage unit use has been suspended. It may be possible to check in early with your airline, please see the ticket agent when you arrive.
The above information is from San Diego International Airport official website.
You will need a health certificate from your vet, an airplane approved carrier, water and food dish. If going inside a doctor's note stating its a service or comfort animal, size limit, it must fit under seat in front or you and remain in carrier. Check with airline as not sll accept them and for cost.
U can parking across the airport. It will cost u 33.00 to 65.00 total one day. Otherwise airport parking will cost u 21.00 dollars a day they drop u off to your airline and pick u up when u get back to San Diego. They take u to your car and u pay them
Seems odd
I found this
You will need to send your actual physical passport, not a copy of it. A visa is a stamp affixed to one of theblank pages of your passport. ... We strongly advise that you send your passport and visa application in a secure way, using a traceable courier service such as FedEx, UPS, DHL, Express Mail or Certified Mail.

I would call the airport and ask, or do you have a passport something with a picture or bring you old license with your picture on it.
Are There Some puplic showers at the Airport, got a 12hour stay?
klaus wurst | Sep 1, 2018
Nate Wing | Sep 1, 2018
No, there are hand sinks in bathroom but please don't use them to shower. There's a few hotels not far from the airport if you want to catch a nap and shower.
Contact the airlines they should tell you & again ask at check in.... I believe at the airport. I would double check so there isn't a problem... enjoy your time in San Diego!!
I'm sure you already picked up your guest... I have my guests call me once outside to tell me where exactly they are, thus saving me parking fees and driving around. You can wait for their call at the "CELL PHONE" area until they call. (This area is just before you get to the terminals on the main road -- there's a sign) It's free to park there and you can watch the planes landing & taking off.....so much easier... and only takes a few minutes to the terminals....
I am not sure, perhaps calling the US Embassy or your country's Embassy for correct answer would be a more responsible response. Or you can Google, but I would definitely speak with someone who has more knowledge.
Perhaps in the main ticketing & baggage claim terminal during night hours. Doubt you will be able to stay in boarding terminal during the night.
There are lots of things to do and see in town. In very few minutes you can be downtown loving San Diego!
First who's got the custudy of the child ?
Second if the child was taken without permission or a notarized letter is a violation of a court stipulation!! My suggestion is call the police and have a police report filed then you have a proof.
if you are a US citizen a valid ID will do, but for non US citizens you will need a passport. This will change in two years where everyone traveling domestic or international will need a passport.
My first time flying & I have my old school ID from 2016-2017. I’m 19. When I called the Dmv office said I can’t get a ID card cause I don’t live out here. Will they let me fly with my old school ID from 2016-2017 & if I bring my birth certificate?
I have a friend amanda williams that is trying to travel from there on february first and i was told i have to send the monday to the travel agent from a money order but i wont be able to can she just come one way without the money

You're best off contacting the travel agent. The airport has nothing to do with the booking and payment of the tickets.
San Diego airport is quite a beautiful back airport as airports go. There are little events and shows always on so there should be plenty to relax or help the time fly.
Are you allowed to bring big bottles of perfume and lotion

If packed in your main luggage yes. You are not allowed over 100ml on carry on luggage.

A 14 year old family member is flying. Does she need identification and would a tribal ID from Minnesota work..
All rental cars near the airport are now located st the rental car center. Not within walking distance. Wait for a shuttle bus that comes around every 15-20 minutes.
My son will be flying with his uncle, is there anything needed by me his mother maybe a letter giving permission and copy of my passport or ID? He is 13 year old?
Xavier Anaya | Sep 1, 2018

A letter stating you give permission for him to fly with the uncle. Unless he is flying out of the country, it is not a big deal.
My 17 month old and I are flying in 3 hrs before my husband. Is there anything really close to the airport I could do my little one while we wait?

Walking? About the only thing is exit the airport, cross Harbor Dr and visit the public park on the waterfront. It's a short lyft down to Liberty Station or Point Loma Harbor shops (5 min)
Best option near the airport is probably the neighborhood streets about 15 minute car ride away. Otherwise, a mall is an option but far from the airport.
If you have regular mail that is pre-stamped and can be dropped in a standard USPS drop box, there are a few: in front of the commuter terminal, at Terminal 1 in front of Southwest & United Airlines, and at Terminal 2 near each of the 2 red bus stops.
If you're looking close to the airport, check Dolphin Motel it's about $75 per night :
2912 Garrison St, San Diego, CA 92106
Otherwise there are a few Motel 6 locations close by.
How many pound in one lage for international flight for unter air line
Etsegenet Denbel | Sep 1, 2018
Tony C. | Sep 1, 2018
Usually the check-in bag is limited to 50 lb. It depends on the destination that you're going to and the airline that will determine if it will cost you any fees for each luggage. You need to check with your specific airline to find out the weight and if there is a cost.
