This place could be a 4 star business but the constant rude up-sale just burned me good after throwing my spouse out for coming to the counter with me. Apparently they only allow one person at the counter for covid reasons. Car was clean with minor scratches. Tank was full of gas and we got a timely pickup from the airport although the other rental car places had visibly more shuttles running. Customer service = 1 star Rental Experience = 4 star Cost = 4 star Wait time = 3 star I will not return nor recommend.

I don’t think I have seen customer service worse than this in the US, rivaled only by Ticketmaster. I deeply believe that it’s ok for companies to make mistakes, it’s how they handle them that makes the biggest impression on the customer, and Budget did not impress, unfortunately. Short story. Left a document in the car that I returned. Getting in touch with ANYBODY at the location seems impossible. They keep routing you through corporate/call centers/etc. After filing the report, going through hours of automated systems, leaving countless voicemails and receiving “nothing found” emails (I know exactly where the document is in the car), I’m about to give up on my birth certificate. Car itself drove ok, albeit needed an oil change and made a couple of sounds. Booked through Amazon benefits, price online was literally 50% less than at the counter (I came with no reservation and reserved while in line to the counter). Will definitely avoid Budget in the future, especially because the price wasn’t especially competitive, I just decided to rent a car, and hopped on a bus to a rental car agency, and budget happened to be the first bus I encountered from a company I’ve heard of. EDIT/Update: After receiving the bill, I was shocked to find out that I've been charged $188 extra for loss damage waiver and liability insurance that I explicitly denied in my reservation. The employee at the counter, when explaining this extra cost, claimed it to be a deposit that I'll get back if I return the car with a full tank, which I did. I was completely stunned and contacted customer service. Agent wasn't able to help me, so I had to go full Karen and ask for his manager, who actually was helpful and receptive to feedback, reversed the charges (albeit after initially offering a 50% refund which I’ve refused), listed to my experience and said that they will do better to improve. I hope they will. Competition is always good for customers.

Excellent car rental for a day exploring LA, clean and comfortable car! I think one of the highlights of our 24 hours in LA was actually returning the car and getting to talk to one of the Budget employee’s, Charlie. Charlie was kind, compassionate, and incredibly intelligent- we could have spent the entire day with him! Charlie’s excellent display of professionalism and personalism made our experience wonderful, I wouldn’t be surprised if the next time we visit he is running the place! The world needs more people like Charlie, and Budget LAX sure is lucky to have him!

Today I got $450 charge for my cleaning fee. Do not be so kind with this location LAX Budget. They going to come back and bite you at the end. So the service was great. Used fastbreak program and got the car with in 5 minutes for us from being there.

Yes. Unlike most other rental car agencies budget charges next-to-nothing of a drop-off fee
No charge for additional drivers (25 years old+). $16.99 / day for GPS.
Say what?
From lax locatio approx 300 without insurance
I picked up from the terminal but it's about 30 minutes between flights so plan on it
Would rather go for an Uber instead of a taxi But Shuttle may be faster.
They charge by the day so you definitely won't be charged more and could receive a rebate
They take debit cards at the airport
Yes but you need special insurance
Yea but u must have a credit score of 690 or above
15 to 20 minute wait for me.
yes
You can always call them and cancel the reservation. I was only charged at the time of check in. Since your reservation is next month you have plenty of time to cancel.
Also it depends on what type of vehicle you want - ask them to show you on the paperwork.
Yes. But in LA, be prepared to wait. Budget shuttle busses take a long time to come. Even in rush hour. I can just imagine how it is at 3am. Bring a folding chair.
No, credit cards only. I’ve had this problem before, specially with budget. I don’t think any rental service will rent without a credit card. Also check the age requirement for the state you are renting in. Some states the renter must be at least 25 years old.
I dont no I never use fast break because going the regular way do just fine for me
The shuttle busses come about every 5 minutes.
I did hear of an incident of someone losing 15,000 dollars and every car was searched and people were questioned until the money was found. By the time the cleaners get the car has been strip searched by budget employees.
I don't have that information. Sorry
Could be tough especially after so much time.
It's now. On airport drive.
They will help you, once you report to their help support
Also costs heavily depend on if you're adding extras like insurance coverage , automatic gasoline refill and more than one driver. I don't do those extras.
I've picked up cars 10 or 15 minutes early because my flight came in early but I don't know what the threshold is. you would have to call them to find out exactly how early you can pick up.
You can't.....hahahahahaha I tried calling several times
Yes you can but they also hold a deposit I think $100 to $200 dollars and it's released as soon as you drop the car back
Car rental companies usually REQUIRE a Credit Card, not a debit card to rent a car.
They'll let you do it, but generally charge extra for a "one way " tental
Yes, but I can't believe Budget won't let vehicles leave Cali.
Check with Budget upfront, there may be a high retention on your card and the is an extra charge for not returning the vehicle at the same location
You can go in the web is more easy oh call them good luck take care with the traffic in beverly hills is there a lot
English
I never had an issue getting a Mustang convertible. Camaro is much more expensive
Hello. You don't need special permits.
Yes
You just want get the so called deal.
Drop off your family and luggage first
You can call 1-800 number, and ask them,,cause, everything is different on this days...
Try reserving online.....
As long as you have international driving license, yes you can
Sorry, I didn't use Costco. I booked through my airline.
You may want to check Budget's website or contact them directly.
Yes they do... buses every five minutes... make sure you tip your driver if they assist you with luggage
Only if you have the car +24hs.
Seats 7 including driver. Toyota Sienna or similar seats 8
I dont think this is an option. I did receive a 4x4 Jeep Renegade a couple weeks ago at the full size car price..this might be your option as well.
You would probably want to contact them directly as specifics options will vary from car to car.
On the island outside baggage claim at every terminal. Different areas for car shuttles vs. hotel shuttles
I had some issues with my reservation at LAX and I contacted their Twitter support page. The issue was quickly resolved.
I had a good experience. Sorry to hear u didn't have the same.
For sure and sign up for fastbreak because it is a very busy place. Just walked up to Fast Break area at the North End and saw our name assigning Us to an area from which to choose a car. EZ when you check out at the gate.
You know what yes you can rent a rent a car at budget with a debit card but they going to do a credit check and they also they're going to charge you more because you're under the age of 25
Ford Expedition is a fairly large vehicle and should fit that amount of baggage and 2-3 people
Nope. But if you will pass certain amount of time after return time you will pay another rental day. Please look at their term and conditions to be sure about delay
Just a credit or debit card and a valid driver's license
I dont think
Did you need anything to board the shuttle? Do they ask for anything?
They have shuttle every 10 min or less with stops at all terminals
Yes, that's correct. Very close, 10 minute shuttle ride.
Try calling their number again, but credit cards preferred. Toll free numbers.
Prepaid, but they keep it open for any issues or if kept longer. They also copy driver licenses when there.
Is not valid, you need international license, they check it before giving you the car
Go online with your confirmation number to change.
So it can or cannot be used?
I believe it depends on you're reservation and how you booked the car. Best to check out their cancellation policy on their site or call them
I would suggest email or call them, this is just a forum for customers. Once in a while the company might answer, but not regularly.
You will pay extra if you request GPS.
If you have a car, and is insured, your personal car insurance should cover it, if the rental car insurance will not.
Why don't you try to give them a call? they will be able to give a better answer
Budget car rentals has a one way rental offers. Many times car rental companies need car allocations, and that will give you a better rate.
Traveling from the U.S. to Mexico If you are a U.S resident, you may drive a Budget car into Mexico only if you purchase Mexican Automobile Liability Insurance at certain U.S. rental locations. To determine whether your location allows travel into Mexico, inquire at the counter or contact us. This insurance is available only at specific locations in Texas, Arizona and California. It is not available in Mexico. Foreign nationals who can’t establish legal permanent U.S. resident status or current valid visa status can’t purchase this insurance because Mexico prohibits such persons from driving a U.S. car in Mexico, making them subject to arrest and the car subject to seizure. Before taking vehicles into Mexico, customers must notify Budget that the vehicle is going to cross the International Border. This policy will allow current corporate customers only to travel south into Mexico in a Budget rental.
Definitely. Also I believe if you return the car in before it is due you receive a small credit back.
Not that I'm aware of.
I'm almost sure you can, check the times when booking your car or call them directly
I'm sorry I have no idea.
They always take a deposit which is returned at the end of your rental. It will credit back to your card.
Nop
Yes, there is a 24 hour shuttle.
Yes, 100%
When I returned my rental to enterprise they didn't ask to see my drivers license and as long as your not changing the payment method there were no questions. However it is always best to air on the side of caution and return it yourself.
Bears become an issue when people leave food in their vehicles. So if you don't have anything that would attract a bear in your vehicle (food, toothpaste, scented lotions, etc), your vehicle should be fine.
They do have a front desk BUT its located a few miles away from the LAX airport. You will have take the free shuttles to all the different car rental places.
No credit card info is on website when you make the reservations click on the link and it will provide full explanation
The lax branch is horrible and they will lie and laugh in your face. The 800 is better. But be sure to get a name and reference number
I would allow plenti of time as the wait is insane and the staff has no concern for your time....Good Luck
Yes it will cost more. You need to carry Mexican insurance. Let Budget know your intent.
You have to go to the purple colored stop outside the baggage claim. After you exit the building make a left and about 25 meters you will find the purple stop. The shuttle passes by every 10-15 minutes.
Potentially paying a big fee... Call and talk to them and mail the keys asap
Just wait for the shuttle on the purple stops by the pillars. Usually take the exit from the international exit and make a left... about 50 meters.
You can make arrangements to drop off at a different location when reserving the car. If it's a different state, it's pricey.
You would probably pay large fee. Call them and find out
We just went out the doors past luggage claim. There are signs above where the shuttle pulls up. However, there is no designated spots for each company to stop.
Not long at all 5 minutes
