kats meow
They have NO pet services as they do not have a veterinarian. So if you are poor and need to put humanely put your animal down, you are out of luck unless you have $300 to go to Asher Veterinary. The prices for vets are going up as fast as gas. So if you are poor good luck on taking care of your best friend dog or cat. It is disgusting more stray pets than ever before as people cannot spay-neuter or get medical help they can afford.
Tony Crites
They have a great staff and A LOT of beautiful animals even bunnies but understaffed. This is Mando the dog we adopted.
Eloi OPhelan
These people are so loving to the animals I was so impressed. Kennels were clean. Just made me wished I have the land to take most of them home. I thought I was getting a dog, but was given roadblocks from my apt mgr.😥 I really fell in love with April too. I haven't given up, even if I have to become a volunteer I will to have a dog😊
Annabell Yingling
Got in the same day to see a dog. Although she was just placed on the vet side I was able to look at her. GP with an amazing personality. Great staff that helped me see her sweetness. Best rescue ever!

All our prices are listed on our website at https://www.havenhumane.org/spay-neuter-clinic-1. A feline neuter is $71. A household may purchase two vouchers per year ($2 each) that will take $20 off the cost of each surgery.
$70 covers the euthanasia and cremation. If you prefer to take your cat with you for private burial (outside Redding city limits) the cost is $50 for euthanasia and a nylon burial bag. You do not need an appointment. You may come in to Building B with your cat between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Yes. Some humans aren't good enough to take care of an animal
Please see our website at www.havenhumane.org. Go to the Spay & Neuter Clinic tab and you will find all the prices.
The cost depends on the weight of the dog because of the amount of anesthesia needed. For a dog under 25 pounds the cost is $97, 25-50 pounds is $117, 51 to 80 pounds is $137, 81 to 100 pounds is $147 and over 100 pounds is $166. Pet owners of all income levels may have their pets spayed or neutered at our clinic for the same price. A current rabies vaccination is required, so either bring proof of current rabies or pay an additional $15 for a vaccination during surgery. If you are interested in microchipping your dog, it is discounted during surgery at $20 instead of $30. That is up to you as an option. We try to find grant money to help dog owners pay for the cost of surgery, but those grants are infrequent.
I would call them, because they have discount days. You could find out when their next day is. :-)
We are sorry your doggy has reached this time in his life. We do not make house calls, but you will find a couple of mobile veterinarians in the Redding area through an online search. If you can get him into the car and bring him to Haven Humane, the cost is $50 and includes a waterproof nylon burial bag. Our sympathies for your loss.
Vouchers are available for a $2 fee. They take $20 off the cost of surgery.
We are not currently spaying any pets due to the veterinarian shortage for the foreseeable future.
We do take in Guinea Pigs as long as we have space available. Call our adoption center at 530-241-1653 to find out.
It is your responsibility to contain your cat to your own property. You are lucky your neighbor took the cat to the shelter where you can get it back. There are a lot of worse outcomes for cats that stray onto cat-haters properties.
Best place to get care for your best friend 👍👍👍
I got a citation for dropping off a stray at haven when it was dropped off at my house. Very rude people
In Shasta County, Redding, and Anderson it is $10 for a 1 year license if the dog is spayed/neutered and $22 if it is not.
Cat adoptions are $10 through the end of the year when you bring in an unwrapped toy for our Stuff the Bus barrel. Adoption fees will go back up to $85 the first of the year. Check our Facebook page for any new promotions throughout the year. We almost always have special promotions to match holidays.
I was told that cats need to be up to date on shots. I would definitely call and ask especially in your situation
All of our adoptable pets are posted on our website in the "ADOPT" section. Click on either the Petfinder or the Adopt-A-Pet logos to be directed to our page. Another option is to call the adoption department at 241-1658, give them a description of the type of dog you are hoping to adopt, and they will fill out a "wanted" card for you and call you when there is a match. Small dogs are adopted quickly, so check often.
Just take them down there.. they love puppies and won't turn them away. At least they'll get all their necessary shots and some food.
The vouchers will take money off the surgery bill. The amount depends on where you live and what species of animal you are getting altered. The vouchers are only good for 30 days and cannot be reissued if lost or expired, so schedule the appointment and come to Haven Humane that day or the day before the surgery just to be sure your appointment doesn't canceled. Vouchers cost $2 and there is a limit of 2 per household per year.
Currently, we are catching up on spaying and neutering shelter animals that have been adopted. Once we catch up, we will be restarting the feral cat TNR program, then making appointments for pets.
Please call our vet hospital at (530) 241-1658. I'm not sure if we have resumed that service since our new veterinarian started. You will need to make an appointment with them if so.
Call our volunteer coordinator and let her know what you have in mind. Kassie at 241-1653 x223.
I'm so very sorry to hear. Yes
They do not have a vet for spay or neutering any longer
If you are purchasing a dog license and need a rabies vaccination, call 530-241-2550 on Monday to see if we have a veterinarian on site. If so, you may come in anytime between 9-12 and 2-4 to get the license and vaccine. If you just want a rabies vaccination without the license, call 530-241-1658 on Monday to find out if our Wednesday walk-in vaccine clinic will be held on February 2 from 2-4. Right now staff shortages are making things unpredictable.
Please call our Receiving Department at 241-2550 for information.
We have 5 senior cats 9 to 13 years old, two 3-year olds, and three 2-year olds. Make an appointment with our adoption specialists and they will match you with the energy level and cuddly-ness you are looking for. Call 530-241-1653.
I hot a female spayed with a rabies shot. Cost 130.00. I think males are less.
So sorry to hear about your cat. It’s tough on us when they get old. Our fee for euthanasia is $50. Add $20 if you’d like us to take care of your cats remains after passing.
If you want to surrender the cats, the procedure is to call Animal Regulation at 530-241-2550 at 8:00 a.m. sharp to see if there is a kennel available. If there is, they will reserve one for you and you have the rest of that day to bring in one cat. If the cat is feral, it must be in a trap. If the cats are friendly, another option is to use our Fast-Track to Adoption program. Call the same number on Monday morning and reserve a space on the list. Bring in the cats anytime the same week, pay the surrender fee, and the staff will vaccinate the cats. You must then take them home for 3 weeks while the vaccine is boosting their immune system. At the end of three weeks, you may bring them back and they will go to our adoption center. The surrender fee is $25 per cat 6 months or older, or $40 for a litter under 6 months. The good news is kitten season is about over and we should have more kennels available during the winter months.
The hospital closes from 1:00 to 2:00 for lunch. The Receiving/Animal Regulation building and adoption center do not close for lunch.
As Courtney said, it depends on the weight of the dog because of the quantity of anesthesia needed up to a max of $111 for over 80 pounds. Vouchers are available. The discount depends on where you live, but could be as much as $40 off. The price is the same for all clients no matter their income. Our appointments are filled for months out, so call soon to get on the schedule.
" it's called a payment program .
I'm not sure what you are looking for. Are you missing a cat or looking to adopt a cat? All our stray animals are posted on Facebook, and so are our adoptable animals. You can also see adoptable animals on our website at www.havenhumane.org.
Yes. All dogs in Shasta County must be licensed and have a current rabies vaccination. Size of property, address, or size of dog does not make a difference.
Yes. Go to the website and take a look at the packages.
We do alter other animals, but sadly, our veterinarian is highly allergic to rabbits and cannot do the surgery. We have altered rabbits in the past when we had an associate veterinarian, but we don't have one on staff at this time.
Kittens can get their first shots when they weigh at least one pound. That is typically at 4 weeks old. Check our website or Facebook page for the kitten package pricing available at our Wednesday afternoon walk-in vaccine clinics. Mama can be spayed once the kittens are eating solid food. The base price is $71 for a spay. If she is still lactating, add $15. Appointments are not available for many weeks, so call now to get her on the surgery schedule.
We currently don't have a grant monies to assist pet owners with the cost of spay/neuter surgery, but we are always looking for opportunities and applying for grants. Our spay/neuter surgery prices are on our website under the clinic services tab and we offer vouchers that will take off $20 to $45 depending on where you live and if your pet is a cat or a dog.
yup.$85
Sometimes you can call the sheriff's department Police department and they can send out animal control
I think that Haven Humane would be happy to receive any help they can get. Especially since they just had a massive increase in population due to the 40+ dogs they just got in.
There's a price list on the site. On Wednesday they have a low cost shot clinic and u can buy meds at that time also. There is also a voucher for 25$ off from the licensing place.
It is $71 to spay a cat. We do require all animals be current on rabies. If your cat needs a rabies vaccination it costs $15 at the time of surgery.
We are in the process of launching a new website. Once it is fully launched, our adoption application will be found in a link on our website. You may also fill one out at our adoption center. To see our adoptable animals, go to Petfinder.com and search for Haven Humane Society. We do accept Visa and Mastercard.
I had a similar situation, epilepsy in a pit bull. I went to cottonwood vet by holiday on gas point and it was super cheap. Not free, but as close as it can be. I also used CBD oil or even marijuana blown through my dogs ear (Never do it through the nose) and while it is no substitute for the vet, it will greatly reduce siezing and improve quality of life, with CBD or THC.
It does add up rabies flea prevention etc but if you go to Palo Cedro there is a place called SNAP it offers vouchers for like half the price Google the address there you will find some wonderful people who does amazing work for our furry friends
A female spay for a dog under 25 pounds is $101.00. If she's 25-50 pounds, it costs $121.00.
We are a low cost veterinary hospital. You can see our prices by visiting our website at http://www.havenhumane.org/spay-and-neuter-clinic/preventative_wellness. You'll see a sliding scale to qualify for services and a "click here" link to the price list.
Appointments are necessary for your own animals. If you are bringing in a trapped feral cat, no appointment is necessary.
Hello Jack, I have passed along your phone number to our hospital staff. They will contact you to discuss what's going on with your dog.
It depends on the size of your dog and what you choose to do with its remains. You would need to contact them. They will give you an estimate based on information you give them.
In addition to the answer provided by Sandy Cracks, we have many animals whose adoption fees have been fully or partially sponsored and we have many adoption specials.
Call them and talk to them.
We require landlord approval if you rent and an introduction with other dogs that live in the home. Other requirements depend on the needs of the dog.
I believe it is every 3-5 years. The last one I just got my dog is for 5 years.
Some of our dogs and cats are already altered, vaccinated, and ready to go home with you the same day. Paperwork takes a few minutes to complete. If you rent, we will need to contact your landlord or property management company for approval. If the dog or cat you've chosen is not already altered, it will go to the clinic that day and be ready the next afternoon (Friday and Saturday adoptions will be ready Monday afternoon).
Euthanasia is $50 if you are taking the remains of your pet with you or $70 if Haven is keeping the remains for cremation. You may come in Monday through Saturday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. without an appointment at Building B.
It is $50 if you want to bury your dog at home (outside the city limits) or a total of $70 if you'd like us to keep him/her for cremation. You don't need an appointment unless you want to be present during the process. In which case, you can make an appointment at our clinic with a small additional charge for a tech exam. I'm sorry you've reached this point. Let us know if we can help.
Call our Animal Regulation line at 530-241-2550. We'd be happy to get that information for you.
We need a phone number for the landlord or property manager. We will need to speak with him/her directly.
I'm sure any shelter you go to has some kind of assistance for this issue..
Dog adoptions are $135 and cats are $85. This includes spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, the first annual vaccinations, and a microchip. However, we often have specials where the price is reduced and some pets have been sponsored so their adoption price has been partially paid by staff, volunteers, or the person who found it and brought it to Haven. Our Facebook page is the best place to watch for adoptable pets and special discounts.
They give you suggestions but you can tell them no
Our prices are low for everyone across the board. We offer city or county vouchers to take some money off; how much depends on where you live. Vouchers cost $2 and your dog must have a current rabies vaccination and a current dog license to qualify for the voucher.
http://www.havenhumane.org/spay-and-neuter-clinic/spay_services
They are adopting dog's and cat's for just $10.00 until Saturday 7/13/19
I'm not sure if they do that just give them a call
I'm not sure but I think it was $13 might want to call and ask them
It will depend on the extent of the check up and what you want done. A physical exam is $40, an FELV/FIV/HW test is $35, an FVRCP Vaccine is $20, and an FELV Vaccine is $25. A rabies vaccine is $15.
$47 for all households. Our spay/neuter services are available to all regardless of income and the price is the same regardless of income. Vouchers are available (2 per year per household) in our Receiving department in Building B that will take off at least $20. The vouchers cost $2 and should be purchased the afternoon of surgery just before you pick up your cat. The clinic may require that your cat has a current rabies shot. If you need to update your cat's rabies vaccination, the cost is $15 during surgery. Microchips are available for purchased optionally if you like. They are discounted to $20 during surgery, which is $10 off the regular price.
You can contact them to see what the exact cost for things, but there are certain days when th clinic has lower cost vaccines, as well as neuturing/fixing. My neighbor got her two cats fixed here for 50$ with a "snap" paper. Or if you're trying to get rid of the cats, I believe giving them up is free
If she is wanting to surrender them to the shelter, she must call 241-2550 at 8 a.m. every day to see if we have kennel space for a cat. If so, she may bring in one cat each day we have space. If they are not friendly, they must be in a trap. The cost is $25 per cat. If she just wants to get them altered and taken back home, the cost is $70 for females or $47 for males.
It depends on whether or not your dog is altered (spayed or neutered), how many years you are applying for, and the age of the dog owner. Dog licensing prices and an application are on our website at: http://www.havenhumane.org/programs-services/dog-licensing. If your dog also needs a rabies vaccination, we offer them for $17 at our facility, or $8 if you attend a licensing clinic. The schedule of dog licensing clinics is on that website page as well.
From their website in general information: Preventive care services are performed for the prevention of disease or sickness and help to ensure your pets are staying healthy. These services include vaccinations, parasite control, wellness exams, dental care and even flea and heartworm prevention.
So sad when our doggies decline with age. It's very difficult to let them go. As the owner of a 14 year old dog, I understand the stages you've been going through with your pup. We will do everything we can to give you and your pet the comfort you both deserve on the final day. Euthanasia plus cremation is $70. Or it is $50 for the euthanasia and waterproof nylon burial case if you have a special place to bury him. Private cremation can also be arranged at Sleepy Hollow Pet Cemetery if you'd like to keep the ashes. No appointment is necessary Monday-Saturday, 8:00 - 5:00. If you would like to be present at the time, you may make an appointment with our vet clinic for the procedure. An additional euthanasia exam fee of $20 would be added. So sorry your baby is in pain.
Today is Presidents day, so maybe that affected their hours of operation.
Junior Haven has been integrated with our STAR training program. Still on Tuesday nights. Please contact our trainer "Chill" at 241-1653 x209.
Yiu can find them on Facebook at haven humane society
No we do not charge a fee to bring in a stray dog or a friendly cat (feral cats in a trap do cost $5). But please try to find the owner first as we have very limited space for new animals.
If you are on Medi-Cal it qualifies you to get low cost treatment at Haven Humane. I suggest you call them up & ask.
For dogs the cost is by weight. For cats its $67 for a female. A current rabies vaccination is required. If your pet doesn't have one, it's $17 at our clinic.
A million dollars
We do not accept checks in the office, and we do not accept credit cards over the phone. We do accept credit cards/debit cards in person. Other options include getting a money order, Western Union money gram, or bringing cash.
We had a grant to provide 1500 spays or neuters to cat owners and all those appointments have been filled.
$47 plus a rabies vaccination of $15 if your cat doesn't have a current vaccine. Cats don't need to be registered in Shasta County.
It is $67. There are additional charges if the cat is in heat or pregnant at the time of surgery.
We do not have free vaccinations. Go to our website at http://www.havenhumane.org/spay-and-neuter-clinic/vaccine_clinic_info for prices.
Need yo call to be sure.
We do not create those events or set the date. BISSELL Pet Foundation invites us to participate in their Empty the Shelters event. They set the date, create all the advertising and social media graphics, send out press releases to our local media, and tell us when we can start advertising the event. They do not allow us to advertise the event more than two weeks in advance of the date. When we are given the okay to advertise, we put out as much advertising on our website and Facebook page as possible. BISSELL Pet Foundation invited us to their Empty the Shelters event in May and we were completely surprised that they held another one in October. We have no word on any future Empty the Shelter events, but we are hoping to be invited to participate.
All our adoptable animals are posted on the internet. Go to our website at www.havenhumane.org and click on the ADOPT tab. Then click on the Petfinder logo. You may also call our adoption department and put your name on a wait list for bunnies. The adoption fee is usually $40 and includes the spay or neuter. We have one bunny ready for adoption now.
About Our TNR Program Feral cats may be brought to the clinic in cat traps for health checks and altering Monday through Thursday between 7:30 and 9:00 a.m. by appointment only. The fee is $45 per cat, due at the time of drop off, and includes anesthesia, surgery, Rabies vaccination, pain injection and ear tipping. FELV/FIV testing can be completed, if requested, at no additional charge. Cats that are showing clinical signs of illness will be tested at the veterinarian’s discretion. All cats that test positive will be humanely euthanized. There is a limit of 2 cats per person per day and a total limit of 5 cats altered per day.
45 dollars
If your pet was brought to Haven from any of the evacuation areas, it is free to retrieve your pet. Please do it immediately. We are giving evacuated pet owners 30 days from the evacuation date to find other lodging for their pets. We do not provide pet boarding for owned pets at Haven Humane and need to keep our kennels available for lost animals.
We have a vaccine clinic in our classroom on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month. This saves you the "office visit" fee. You pay only for the vaccines. Our prices are posted on our website at http://www.havenhumane.org/spay-and-neuter-clinic/vaccine_clinic_info. You may buy individual vaccines or a package of them.
Call them tomorrow and talk to them
That would be so great. We love it when a pet can leave the shelter as soon as possible. An owner has 4 days after the intake day to claim a pet. On the fifth business day, the pet is adoptable. Special circumstances are pets that are coming in from the Carr Fire area. We are holding those pets 30 days because of all the displacement of families from the area. Please go to our website (or come to Haven) and fill out an adoption application and return it to us so you can pre-qualify. We will make a note that you want to adopt if not claimed.
Call
Definitely call them
Have you checked the local fb pages?;
If you must euthanize your pet and you would like to have your pet cremated and taken home, Haven Humane Society can do the procedure and you will make arrangements with Sleep Hollow Pet Cemetery to pick up your pet at Haven Humane Society for a private cremation at Sleepy Hollow. You can then pick up the ashes at Sleepy Hollow and take them home. An alternative is to bring your pet to Haven Humane for euthanasia and take the remains home for burial without cremation. After euthanasia we place your pet in a waterproof burial bag and return your pet to you. The cost is $50 for the euthanasia and burial bag.
We only deworm puppies 6 months or younger as a matter of protocol. We watch the stools of adult dogs and treat them if there is any sign of worms while they are at the shelter. You can buy dewormer at any feed store in town. It is given by mouth, not injection.
Animal Regulation is expected to enforce fee ordinances created by the Shasta County Board of Supervisors and those of the State of California. Those are called "impound" fees. Haven charges a fee for vaccinations that are given to the dog when it enters the shelter and a $15 per day boarding fee to cover the cost of shelter operations. Haven only gets to keep half of that boarding fee. All other fees collected at Haven are sent to the county and state. Your dog is required by state law to be licensed. In order to get a license, your dog must have a rabies shot. A rabies shot is $18 and a license is about $23 for an unaltered dog. If you had complied with this regulation prior to the dog ending up at the shelter, those fees would not be included in the $150 cost to get the dog back. So for part of that $150 your dog is getting the required rabies vaccination, required dog license, and a full set of canine annual vaccinations that you should have taken care of at 4 months old.
When I called Haven about that same question, they told me that they have a waiting list and it's a $30 dollar fee. So I just went to Tractor Supply and picked up a large trap with a smaller one inside for $30 dollars that I can use over and over again.
Definitely call, they are most helpful
Call
Fill out an application for Care Credit. When your approved they will pay the bill and then they will bill you monthly with reasonable payments. .
Yes call them they are extremely helpful and caring.
Around $110 if pregnant or in heat.
We currently have a special for cat spays and neuters thanks to a grant from PetSmart Charities. It will cost $25 plus a rabies vaccination for $15 if your cat has not been vaccinated yet. Call our clinic at 241-1658 for an appointment.
I don't know about haven. I take my pup to Top Dog for nails. 222 1123.Claudia is superb and only 8$
Call
Our veterinary medical services are available to those who qualify for Medi-Cal, Medicare, or have a veteran's card. There is an income qualification listing by household members on our website in the "Spay & Neuter Clinic" section. If you qualify, you may call 241-1658 to make an appointment. Spay or neuter surgeries are available to all pet owners regardless of income.
The voucher discounts the cost of spaying or neutering your pet. The amount depends on if it is a cat or a dog and if you live in the city limits of Redding or in Shasta County. Shasta Lake residents must check with the Shasta Lake shelter to see if they offer one. We will take it, if they do. These vouchers are issued by the municipality they serve. The cost for a voucher is $2 and they take off between $20 to $40 of the surgery cost. To receive a voucher for a dog surgery, the dog must be licensed and have a current rabies shot. Sometimes the cost of the license and rabies vaccination is a wash with the savings on the surgery, but the good news is that future licensing is about 1/2 the cost of licensing an unaltered dog and the dog will be in compliance with the city/county ordinances. If the dog gets out and ends up at the shelter, the city/county fees to get the dog back are much less than if the dog is not licensed/altered/vaccinated.
You can call haven human and ask them and also go on Facebook and look under Cody alert. That is for found or lost animals
You can take them there, you just can't drop them off without telling anyone. Imagine how many stray and unwanted cats and kittens, would be roaming around if peoplejust dropped them off without taking them inside or telling anyone.
