There is a State of California impound fee and a municipal impound fee (city or county). These will vary if your dog has been impounded before this. You will have to show proof of current rabies vaccination or have your dog vaccinated before he leaves the shelter ($17) and you will have to show he has a current dog license or purchase a dog license before he leaves.
