Changing my review for multiple reasons. Main one being they issued me a citation. This citation is not having current registration and vaccination on record. The problem is I have not lived in California for 3 years. Why am I getting a citation when I don't live in the jurisdiction? Secondly they are generally incompetent. I tried calling them once regarding an issue with a dog. I called them and connected with the city dispatch, they informed me that I was in county jurisdiction. So I reach out to them and get told it's city's problem. Needless to say that I didn't get any help and had to their job for them. I have left multiple emails and voice mails to resolve the issue with the citation. Not a single response. I left my phone number so they can actually respond, but no they are either too lazy or more interested in earning a quick buck.

Unlike my last experience with this agency they were super helpful. My three dogs were being babysat and during that time they got out and animal control got them. So when I came back to my surprise I had to bail all 3 dogs out of doggie jail. The total price of it all was somewhere around $590.00. I only had $190.00 but they let me slide. I do not know why this time but not the last? I am totally appreciative and very grateful for them giving me a discount.

We have adopted a number of animals, most recently, a young female Shih Tzu who had been at the facility for some time. When the attendant brought her out to the visitor room, he said, “Don’t get bit.” We brought her home anyway and found her to be the sweetest dog. I have just read your new policy of tagging a dog that may show unfriendly traits and your plan for euthanizing them. This is extremely upsetting. You used to be eager to euthanize and I’m unhappy to see you are planning to revert to that habit. If we had listened to the attendant and refused the dog, a wonderful pet would have been killed. You plan is terrible because it doesn’t give a shy animal a chance. Rethink you decision.
Kimberly
We have adopted 3 dogs from here. All have been great dogs. The staff are wonderful, now they have foster a dog before the adoption. This is a good way to make sure they are a good fit with your family.
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
Every Friday the shelter kills 10+dogs!!! Let's stop this!! Pledge, donate, foster, rescue, adopt, spay and neuter your pets!
As is the case for any busy office, the agents may not pick up, but they generally return phone calls within one business day when callers leave their name, return phone number, and a brief reason for contacting them.
It also matters what breed the dog is. I adopted my dog from there the day his stray hold was lifted. had I not done that he would have been euthanized. Because he was flagged unsafe to handle and unsafe to vaccinate... Why? ,Because he was biting the catch pole when he was picked up... Absolutely ridiculous! He's a sweetheart and huge lover when I picked him up from being neutered the staff was saying how sweet he was . And to think he would've been euthanized due to plain and simple ignorance. So many dogs get killed for even less. It's a shame and it's sickening.

Who can I call What number
Your pet, your responsibility. Contact your vet or go bury the pet on some rural public land (we go out to Bureau of Land Management land out by Don Pedro to bury our pets).
Yes, Monday Tuesday Thursday Friday from 9-10am and every 3rd Saturday from 8-10 or longer depending on the line
If you give stats: Breed or best guess AND description (body like a Chihuahua, head of bulldog) Size in weight, exmpl. 42lbs body condition (athlete, fit, average, overweight) Color(s) AGE or best approximate guess Spayed/ neuter. Y or N? Vaccinated ? Current rabies certificate? microchip Y / N Good with: Dogs Cats Children House or yard dog? Be honest, if you say she's 2 and her teeth say she's a senior you could hurt her chances of being placed. (When owners do this rescues become justifiably concerned they may have hid or lied about illnesses or health history) There are many rescues who partner with Stan. County Animal Services. Who specialize in dogs under 40lbs, over 40lbs, certain breeds like the "undesirables" Dobie, Rottie, Pitt, Amer. bull terrier, etc. Post here and I'll try to help, talk to animal services staff, check website for rescue contacts, Modesto lost & found FB page, etc.
Nice Pat, you wanna help?
Mary ignore Richard he nor I know anything about your situation to judge you personally. The shelter can give you names of rescues if you have time to look. Depending on your dog's size, this time of year can be hopeful or dire as far as the animal's chances at a new home. Smaller dogs tend to be rehomed more easily and quicker than larger breeds this time of year. (Under 40lbs) under 25 better chances. Search online for breed specific rescues. If you must take your animal to the county, talk to someone at a rescue and ask if they work with the county and could they maybe "pull" your baby after the county pays to do the intake: vet exam, etc. Good luck
According to the website, adopting a cat is $45.
Have you tried calling them. They are very good in returning calls.
Call them and leave the reason you're calling about. And remember to leave them your name and number. Or find a pit bull rescue association.
Betty sanders take them there Stanislaus animal service agency 3647 cornucopia off crowslanding Rd Modesto CA
Red status.means they have been there for a while I guess . they're some very sweet dogs and some of them that would be great watch dogs. Well worth your time if you're looking for a good dog.
There are several different rescues that step up and save these dogs, so it varies.
They do still have it
They do accept volunteers. U have to go on their website . They take young people & they take adults .
They are crazy as the people wandering in this area! I live right by you on Tokay. Animal Control should be able to help you. I left a voicemail and they called me back quickly.
There is a vet that is located next door 2 the county animal shelter that has great prices
Great question. Maybe teens. Not sure. Call tomorrow.
I don't know about kittens specifically, but many were doing walk-ins with their pets for assorted vaccinations while I was in the waiting room .. it's like walk in, pay, walk out, you don't even have to go into a room. It's that quick. The animals (dogs) didn't even seen to notice. But it's "next door" to the shelter. It's a new vet clinic.
Coupons will be issued in increments of fifty dollars ($50) for dogs and twenty-five dollars ($25) for cats at no cost to the animal owner. The program will limit the number of coupons to two (2) per family. Who Is Eligible? Dog and cat owners with proof of low income and reside within the unincorporated areas of Stanislaus County, and the cities of Modesto, Ceres, Patterson, Waterford, and Hughson. One of the following documents must be provided as evidence of low income: Food stamps or EBT Card Medi-Cal Card Medi-Caid Unemployment SSDI (Social Security Disability Insurance) SSI/SSP (supplemental security income/state supplementary payment) Telephone or Utility bill with low income Hope this helps...
Ragdolls are expensuve and sought after cats list them on craigslist. Chances are you will find a good home for them if someone has to pay something for the cats. Just a thought. There is also ragdoll sites you could try
Its $40 and the vet on staff has top approve it after you surrender the animal. They don't euthanize just because of age if the animal is healthy but if there is something medically wrong they will approve it.
What is the number for the shelter we’re i can surrender my dog ?
Yes Esther Maldonado. There is a website you can check for any breed you are looking for.
Turn them in is about all you can do also if there is no shelter, no Rabies shot or tags then all are considered a type of crime. Complaints can be Anonymous usually just in case somebody wants to try to sue you for complaining about them. The only thing that can fight and Court is if they get through animal taken away because of lack of shelter because they won't take an animal way just for not having your tags are rabies on the rabies if they bite another animal or person yes they can they have to put them in quarantine until they know if they do or do not have rabies then you can be in trouble criminally.
Or local rescues they need volunteers
Yes, there are. Contact Stanislaus County Animal Services for a list. You'll need to go there if the link does not specify. These are rescues vs. "Shelters" Breed specific will be your best bet. You may need to travel to insure the safety of your pet in order to get them where they need to go. Please commit to what it takes to ensure their safety. You're NOT likely to find an answer/ solution in a day. If you need immediate help look for FOSTER CARE while you search
Search their website for dogs available or visit. If you see a dog you want online it doesn't necessarily mean dog is still available. If you need to bring another dog to visit with possible new member, the dog need current rabies paperwork
Absolutely Ok! to give them toys and some dog and cat treats 🐶🐱
You would need to keep checking the website to see when available. If you took it last month, it would have already been available if not reclaimed.
Depends on the injury, etc. Contact Animal Control about your specific case.
I don't understand your question. Whose dogs are these? Yours? A neighbors? Or strays?
Do not know. Call the main office on Cornucopia and ask them.
It's fine online with DocuPet. Just take a picture of the rabies certificate and proof of spay/neuter and upload. Price is much higher if not fixed.
They do take animals in but you must schedule an appointment from my understanding
Yes. There are very nice cat people at 629 Ila Way, Modesto
Call animal control or a cat rescue group.
Yes. They want you to bring your dog's up to date medical records.
Need to dial the area code first. Sorry, don't now where Olivero rd. is. Why are kids unloading at 5:00 for anyways? Mine are home having dinner.
The shelter does not provide vet services for private pets. Valley Pet Care, next to shelter, or Valley Veterinary Hospital on McHenry offer low cost pet care.
Short answer is no.
You call during business hours and tell them you have a cat you want to have put down. They will ask why...you just explain your situation and they will offer a appointment time. They do require that the vet do a physical Exam prior to the injection. They only do them in the late afternoon something like between 3-5 pm. Price depends on weight of animal I believe. I hope this helps🙂
Sorry I can't answer that. I just visited there. I do not work there..
I want to rescue a little dog..i don't have alot of money. Can't have a puppy. Just lost my lil chihuahua 1 mo. Ago. I live by myself. And..missing a companion.
If you went to get it done at the shelter, look on their website for instructions. Do not bring in the cat unless you have an appointment for the service. There are also nonprofits in the area. Google TNR or Trap Neuter Release in Stanislaus Co.
A local game warden maybe?
What is your question? I recently picked up our lost dog from there, maybe I can help.
You must leave a voice message, they'll call you back pretty quickly. If you don't hear back say within 2-4 hours I would call again.
They will usually go to a rescue.
No, you can walk in and walk straight back to the kennels. Keep in mind if you find a dog that you want to adopt make sure you have all of the required stuff. They will not hold or reserve a dog. It's all first come first served.
Not sure. Try to email
Please visit the Stanislaus Count Animal Services web page for up to date information for availability of pets for adoption: http://www.stanislausanimalservices.com/adopt-dogs.shtm
Yes you can see
There's a lot of them around stanislaus
All of those things can help the shelter. Old towels are also helpful The bags of dog food can't be used for the shelter did but are passed along to homeless or in need people.
Check alley cat they are working with the shelter
You'd have to ask the Shelter management.
You can check on the website to see what they have
Yes I believe so, and they also post adoptable animal's on there site
You will need to call animal control directly for this.
They are and you can also get vouchers to take to another vet. Check their website for details.
It may be adopted, but just keep checking Stanislaus animal shelter site for all dogs and then look at the date available. There is often a line at least an hour before opening to adopt the popular dogs.
If they have a collar with a tag they shouldn't legally be aloud to
they don't just put the dogs down they try to adopt them out first the only time they put them to sleep is if they're too aggressive or too sick
I would call them to find out exactly... but I'm sure there will be a fee.
Call them for info
I gave this dog to a women that promised to change info on chip. My problem I can't get any help. I am disabled (the reason I gave dog away) and it is extremely hard for me to drive any distance. I live inStockton.
It varies on size of dog
Check on the website to see if you can submit it online... but I would take a copy in
You have to call them. I think there are people who speak Spanish there.
They were open 7 days when I went there. I would suggest calling them.
When I went on a Saturday which is the day they give shots for 10.00 each there were only dogs no cats
They post monthly vaccination days on their website. For the month of January Every Saturday at 9am is vaccine clinic Cats must be in a cage or box. I suggest get there early because people line up Quick out there
Don't hold your breath, you need to go in, in order to speak to someone.
I doubt it
Where did U GET from ? If U GET from the shelter they can do it for U right there . The process shouldn't take long to do . U can GET UR license 2 -7 days .
Owner release is $40.00 AND $10.00 IF Deceased. Good Luck!!
I would advise you to go to Valley Pet Care which is right next to the Stanislaus County Animal Shelter. Valley Pet Care offers walk in vaccinations Monday through Friday from 12 - 5 for the same low prices the shelter charges. We attended a Shelter Vaccination Clinic this morning. We stood in line over 3 hours to get our dogs vaccinated. Due to the popularity of these Shelter Clinics, I would strongly recommend going to Valley Pet Care and then going next door to the shelter to pay your license fees.
If the pound has room they well take her but if not I don't know but keep her warm and safe and call around to see if they have room for her
I don't know but I do know they have these things where they bring the dogs to the park for adoption. At least I was told that. I hope this helps . I'm a dog lover if I could I would rescue all animals..
If you qualify for low income you can go next door at the animal shelter and they will give you a voucher for 20 or 25 dollars to spay or neuter( must show proof of low income) They also must have rabies shot. If not they offer the same day of procedure a rabies shot for $10.. They are really professional and super nice. I recommend them very highly.
Sadly, I would say take him back....
They have a drop off spot but I don't know the time they open
There are a few days each week they have the vaccination clinics. I would recommend that you check the shelter website for the days and times.
He may be sicker than worms. If you are not keeping him take him to SASA (pound) where they may euthanize him
I cannot remember exactly how much I paid but it was far less expensive than anywhere else. I believe the Rabies vaccine was $6 which includes the certificate. They also have several other vaccines at an extremely reasonable price. I believe the Shelter runs their vaccination clinic a few mornings during the week and on one Saturday during the month. I DO NOT suggest going to the Saturday Clinic. They are dogs EVERYWHERE! It can get very tense at times. Check their website for days and times. I highly recommend this clinic.
All the the info is on their website regarding the steps to adopt. All dogs and cats are spayed/neutered prior to being released to adopted families.
Can go next door 2 have it done. Or call and they have one Saturday a month 4 specials
Maybe call a few dog and cat rescuses and see if they will take them.
Where to drop off abandoned kittens
Yes
Animal control has a program TNR ( trap neuter release ) it's called Best Friends. They will loan you traps for you to take the cats in to be fixed. Then you release them back - I was told after you trap them they probably wont want to return to your house. You might want to find out if any belong to your neighbors...
Go an hour before they open so you can be first in line. They go really fast and the rescues can take then after 24 hours. I never dreamed it would be so hard to find another dog. The small dogs go fast.
Give em a call. If they can't I'm sure they can refer to who can.
The landlord must request that the dog's need to be removed.
The shelter doesnt do the rescue of strays. Call animal control. They handle that and will bring them to the shelter afterwards.
I dropped off a pregnant stray cat two days ago and they brought her back today fixed and aborted the babies 😢
Sorry i dont know but good luck..keep trying and leave any messge possible
About 100 dollars. We have gotten each dog here. Very pleased with each HOMELESS one we brought home tobjpin our family. It does include everything a dog needs. Micro chip , first shots and well as fixed. Awesome deal
Yes the shelter will help your pet go peacefully.
I doubt it i would try your local animal contol
So what's your question? That is happening in neighborhoods all over stanislaus county
Yes go in and tell them
Hello. You can take your dog to the shelter for that but it does cost $36 to surrender animals.
You have to be 18
Yes with a fee
4-8 depending if they are are wearing a tag with owner info, microchipped or not.
My friend never received a renewal regarding dog license.
I'm sorry not sure. But, it's on their website.
Bunnies are brought in all the time just keep an eye on stay other pets on the website
No it is not, they are working in getting their live release numbers up but there truley is no such thing as a no kill shelter, every shelter euthanizes!
There are about 100 gpdogs there, go down and look
102 out the door
9-10 am every Tuesday and Thursday
I would call them again. Also, you can call the local police _ (Non-emergency) dispatch and they can help you.
I think I did this one time if I remember correctly what you do is you go to Stanislaus County animal shelter website and there's a Complaint Form you filled that out and then you leave it up to them where they will go to the person that you filed a complaint against and K will give them a warning and I think it's after three warnings they give him a citation or take the dog away something like that
start at the animal shelter and see if they will give you the name of the person who rescued her or if there's something they can do I really don't know I know that they will work their butts off to get their dogs back to you if that's the situation
Vaccinate u mean? No theres no clinic on wed n its only mon- sat xcept wed its only from 9-10:30am
J& west on 9th and g st
Go to the shelter
the shelter will just fix the mother and probably take the kittens till they are old enough to fix.. i found out that the fix them and return them .. part of pest control i here .. so gove them a call.. or u can try to fence off that area till the kittens are big enough .. the dogs with scared them away eventually
If you are a resident of Modesto they will take the animal from you but if you live in Turlock area you have to go to Turlock animal shelter which is a kill shelter and I doubt that you want to go there so try to let them know that you are from Modesto or that you are bringing your stray cat to the shelter but try not to go to Turlock animal shelter they are kill shelter.
You can also do craigs list with pictures
You would need to call thw shelter directly. I would say place an add, but you would want to make sure you hat the adoptive fur parents arw goos people.
Let them know right away if your serious or you can loose out
What a wonderful thing to do, but call them first they'll give you info on what to do
Record as much as you possibly can for evidence and call ANIMAL control. He should be sighted for a nuisance barker. Good luck.
I know you can surrender your pets. There is a door at the end of the building passed the main entrance (follow the signs). You can check the website for drop off times. Sorry you can't keep your cat. I hope someone will take him in and love him.
What you should do is go to the Modesto Animal Shelter on Crows Landing Road and tell them that the kittens are from Modesto Area and they will take him from you make sure you don't go to Turlock animal shelter because they are a kill shelter and they will not rescue the kittens they will probably kill them but the Modesto Animal Shelter on Crows Landing Road which is called Stanislaus County Animal Shelter they will take him from you and take care of them
Please use an actual question other than your opinion
Maybe call the spa.
The spca.
Kittens and cats picked up by the pound or brought in to the pound are very unlikely to be found a good home. It's better to do the T.N.R. program, rather than send them to be tortured and then euthenized.
Their best to find homes. Theres a play area for the cats n kittens. Go visit n see
Capture the baby, go to shelter in modesto on crowslanding. Tell them your story, they will try to place it in good home
Get a trap/cat type. Place water into trap. Should be able to trap it, take it to a river area n release
If you did not find the kittens and Modesto Area they won't help you you would have to take it to your own City shelter and you have to find out if that City shelter is a kill shelter by Turlock do not take your animals to Turlock shelter they are a kill shelter so just mention to them that you found them in the Modesto Area when you were visiting somebody in there if you're not from Modesto and you day should take good care of them
Hi im thinking the notice was already in process. Or they're not cuaght up w thier paper work or the workers r not paying attention....
Yes. Clinics are held every weekday except Wednesday from 9am to 10am. It's a walk in clinic so the wait can vary. Rabies is $6 and if she needs her yearly booster DHPP is $10. If the dog lives in the county licensing is $12 per year for spayed/neutered animals and $150 for unaltered. Seniors receive discounts.
Rescued means the dog has gone to a rescue to be rehomed. It could mean local or out State or out of Country depending on which rescue pulled the dogs. They are no longer available at the shelter. Adopted means they found a home with someone/ family.
Are the dogs malnutritioned or in bad health? If not i think that you should mind your own business. The only way that you should get involved is if they are in bad shape.
Probably contact a local vet for help.
During business hours yes. M T Th F 9 to 5, W 1pm to 5, Sat 8 to 5. Closed Sunday's and holidays
I think Lauren Crawford is right my daughter wanted to not to long ago ant im pretty sure thats what they said
Do you still the dogs?
They will call you when the surgery is done. That's what happened when I adopted my girl last month, it could be 2 or more days depending on how busy the vet is.
Talk to your neighbor about the issue. If that does not work get proof it is occurring and file a barking dog complaint. City of Modesto handles inside city issues. Takes 2 neighbors to complain for outside city of Modesto limits
So you are a little unclear so here's two answers. You adopted the dog: your dog has to go through surgery to be altered, they will call you when you can pick it up. This is your dog someone else adopted because you never came to get it: if you do not reclaim your dog by coming down to pick it up you abandoned it. By law the shelter gains ownership and they do their best to find a home for the animal. If they animal has left the shelter its now legally owned by someone else. You did not not come for the dog so you abandoned it.
Your best bet is to call and see but also check your local vets. Usually if the animal is suffering they won't charge you a vet visit and administer the meds to your furbaby. I'm so sorry you are going through this.
My 2 dogs got taken like 3 or 4 years ago and cost me 600 almost 700. To get them out but they were not fixed at the time
See how the dog reacts to the person picking up the dog if it reacts well and happy then be happy you reunited them if not then don't give them the animal!!
If this is your animal and was not adopted from the shelter in the last 10 days you need to take the dog to a veterinarian. Medical advice cannot be given without a veterinarian and an exam. Inner ear issues require visualizing the problem by a trained professional as it could be any number of things. If the dog was adopted from the shelter in the last 10 days refer to your adoption contract for the medical line.
You should go there you have to get your dog anyways
No You can just walk in and see whatever you want. No appointment necessary
My cat stayed in a tree for FIVE days until we scared it trying to get to him. He was in an Italian Cypress with limbs growing straight up so my nephew put on tree cleats and started the chain saw to get to him. He sailed out of the tree. He was so dehydrated he didn’t eat the first couple days. I was told cats can’t retract their claws to go ‘down.’ It was so sad each evening when I had to give up coaxing him down...
If you get a dog from the shelter they will be up to date on shots and fixed. You would only have to register them. If you rescue one from say just a random person you'll have to get the rabies shot and will have to have them fixed. But if you adopt from a licensed rescue they will also be fixed but not all keep up with the shots.
There will be a fine to get your dog back but no where near $1000.00
If your dog has parvo, go immediately and get CHEWABLE HUMAN PROBIOTICS and PAPAYA ENZYME Wal-Mart carries both. If your dog is throwing up blood and pooping bloody diarrhea you can be 99% certain it's parvo. If the dog cannot eat the supplements crush them, mix with a small amount of Pedialyte at ROOM TEMP and put in syringe and give it to them. 4xs a day for the probiitics, if you can't find chewable, it's fine just get 10 strain and 10 billion culture or as high a number of strains and cultures as you possibly can. Within 24-36 hours you should see massive improvements. By 4 days near complete recovery. Give Pedialyte ONLY until they no longer throw up and continue for 24 hours after. Then try baby foods, plain meat variety stage 2 type foods I've saved many dogs on deaths door without the ridiculous vet bills associated with parvo and no IV fluids.
Call the dog pound..
Maybe spca or call around on rescues on Facebook or online.
Call and ask.
You can call around. SPCA and other pet agencies.
Yes absolutely, there are dogs of many breeds/ sizes / training available. Many very fine animals end up there as lost, surrendered and abandoned due to owners moving, being evicted and even owner death.
Your are not nice
It can be surrendered to the county shelter. They have the facilities to take it in and find lil piggy a home. Is this a pot bellied pig or a full sized swine?
Call police. Or call animal control of it lasts more than 30 minutes. Get audio or video and animal control can fine them. You don't need the full 30 on tape but you do need to document time it started/ stopped that you noticed.
Little dogs ate frequently rescued from Stanislaus County Animal Services. Several times a month including this past Monday 150 small dogs were loaded up and flown/driven to Oregon rescues. Smaller dogs have a much better shot. That rescue has done as many as 4 trips in a month and another is scheduled for next week.
It would be best to call and ask, if not just go to the shelter and ask for more information. And I do believe there is a fee, but I'm not 100% sure.
@ricardopantalla the hell it is..at least one is a free shot at life a d the other is a sure "shot"
Owner surrender is NOT FREE. The fee is $30.00 I used to work for the County shelter and my daughter is a current enforcement officer for the shelter
They told me that they will not take dogs back or rehome. They are not taking dogs
I dont think so but im not for sure
Yes and not sure but I know they do free adoption once a month.
Yes as long as there room because everyone likes to serve there hours here!
Once a month they have a free clinic. They offer different services some you do have to pay!
Try using the phone
On another.note. I just went through being accused by someone that I have a dog. The County Animal shelter sent me a license bill or appear at a hearing for $200 to prove I did not have a dog. The county has people going around issuing these warnings if they hear a dog in your house or back yard. Beware.. .
Call them up... I'm a private Person... I only took my dog there for shots
Did you call the animal shelter or Sheriffs Dept?
