Well organized, nice space and environment. Staff is friendly and helpful and they respond to emails quickly and fully. They have parking under their building... And they took good care of my puppy-dog!
Meg
I’m not sure exactly what is going on at Lacy Park right now but every time I’ve come in the last few weeks at least there is this Pasadena Humane vehicle driving around on the lawn and hassling dog owners. Why is a non profit wasting their resources by patrolling a park and apparently calling the cops on dog owners who have their dogs off leash at a park?

Emile I’ve owed French Bulldog for the past 5 years and after losing my last one, I just didn’t have the heart to get another one. I knew I still wanted a small breed. Luckily I found Tiller browsing on Pasedena Humane Puppies. I contacted (Breeder) and I was able to get my new puppy the same day. Thank you, it makes me happy having a puppy running around the house again.

We voluntarily foster for Pasadena Humane and can confirm that they care deeply about the animals that they help. They really do try their best to be a force for good, frequently going above and beyond to the betterment of both animals and humans. Sometimes they seem a little disorganized, but I feel it's important to remember that much of their staff is made up from volunteers working for free. It would be more appropriate to say that they care about their animals more than anything else. If you want to give an animal a loving home, please adopt from here! If you're looking for a good charity to donate to, please give whatever you can; they do incredible work!
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
Sandy, Please come back and update this? There are an awful lot of super sensitive people here whose worried hearts would be so eased if they knew what happened to your cats. I really hope they went to some of the seemingly kind people who asked you about them. I was touched by your message too, and I happen to be looking for an adult and her kitten type of situation, or a bonded pair of kittens. My whole life I have had rescued cats in the double digits, in need of homes, but no for the first time in my whole life we don't have a single animal companion and it is sooo painful and sad, living without them. Big Hugs, Jacqui
Yes
Details on their program at https://pasadenahumane.org/services/feral-cat-trap-neuter-release-program/
There are adoption fees to help cover the cost of care that your pet may have received. Fees at the time of this response are: Dogs are $130; Cats are 1 for $75 or 2 for $90; and Rabbits are $35. Other fees vary by animal.
Marta is right take them to the Humane Society They will accepting and care for them.
You would need your ID such as a driver's license or a California ID if the animal is not yours. But if the animal is yours you just need to take him/her to the main office, pay the surrendering fee, which is approximately $25 and be ready to give them a plausible explanation for getting rid of your animal! You see, an animal is part of the family not an old sterio that you can simply throw in the dumpster because you bought a more modern one, because it no longer works or because you are tired of having it encroaching on your personal space! Have some compassion don't just think of yourself because tomorrow you can become gravely ill due to refractive epilepsy for instance and others will view you as a nuisance! Not even god approves of your selfishness!
I suggest that you go speak to one of the employees in the main office to see what they will tell you about this cat's whereabouts.
I am pretty sure they do because as you probably already know they also take care of wild life but call them at the number they have here or go to the main office to speak to someone personally. You can also check their website for more information. Good luck!
I strongly suggest that you go take a tour of the kennel area or go straight to the main office and speak to someone from the reception desk. If possible take a photo of the dog with you to see if they can give you any information about her whereabouts. Perhaps she has already been given up for adoption. I hope this helps. Good luck!
As far as I know, yes they have rabbits here. Call them at the number they have here, go to the main office personally and talk to someone from the reception desk or check their website for more information.
Hello Arpa, Our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and chipped before adoption. Please view additional information on our adoption process at pasadenahumane.org/adopt/before-you-adopt/. Thank you
Hi Anthony, we have tons of volunteer opportunities here. Visit our programs at pasadenahumane.org/volunteer.
Hello, our dogs have an adoption fee of $140. That includes spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations. Thank you. View our pets at pasadenahumane.org/pets.
As far as I know, all of these institutions spay and nuter cats, dogs and rabbits. I suggest that you either go to this facility and speak to one of the ladies in the main office, call them at the number they have here or check their website to see if you can get some more information about their low cost clinic. As a general rule, you would have to take a copy of the gas bill or a copy of the electric bill with you as well as your California ID or your driver's license so that you can request a voucher that would cover part or all of the cost of the surgery. Good luck!
Here at the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA, we take in all animals regardless of their health and behavior. This means that sometimes we need to make the incredibly tough decision to humanely euthanize an animal that is suffering or beyond the scope of our care. That being said, the majority of animals that come through our doors are adopted into homes or placed with a partner group. In fact, we are now fortunate enough to have extra space in our kennels, so we transfer in homeless pets from crowded shelters in the region and beyond.
If you take a copy of your bill from the department of water and power to the main office along with an identification such as your driver's license or your California ID you can ask them if you can get a voucher that covers the entire surgery which is about $125.00. Additionally, you have to pay around $20.00 for the Elizabethan collar, also known as the plastic cone or funnel to keep her from messing with the wound and infecting it and you might also have to pay and additional $20.00 for the antibiotics. If you take her to a regular veterinarian's office they might charge you approximately $300.00 for the entire procedure. Good luck!
Yes they take any kind of wild birds here.
As a general rule, yes they need to wear their license and microchip tags at all times because if for some reason they run away somebody who finds them can call you to pick them up or they can bring them back to you especialy if one of the officers finds them. They can even take them straight to the shelter for medical attention if they are injured and call you from there to notify you right away. Otherwise they will be treated as strays and they will be given up for adoption to other families.
Go take a tour of the kennel area to see if she is stil in one of the kennels. If she wags her tail as soon as she sees you for example you can write down her ID number and go straight to the main office to let one of the people who work there know that you have found your baby and that you want her back. They will charge you approximately $100 to get her back but I personally believe that it is worth it. If I were in your shoes I would certainly pay them to get my baby back because I would be missing her terribly and because I wouldn't want her to continue suffering in that prison cell any longer. Pray to god for guidance and hope for the best.
Visit the center during working hours and the staff will be able to give you all the information. Pug Nation has adoption events quite often.
Saturdays from 2 to 5pm and Sundays from 3 to 5pm..no appointments needed at these scheduled times
Hi, we have Visiting Hours every Friday and Saturday from 3:30 to 5:30pm, but adoptions are still by appointment only. Please visit our website to book an adoption consultation: https://pasadenahumane.org/adopt/adoption-process/
Hi Stephanie, You can see all our currently available cats on our web site: https://pasadenahumane.org/adopt/adoptable-pets/?swoof=1&pa_animal-type=cat You can also make an appointment to adopt here: https://pasadenahumane.org/adopt/adoption-process/
If you can take it!
Yes you can bring them all here but you might have to pay a surrendering fee of approximately $60 because they need this money for things such as medical expenses or to buy food for all the animals. They are also alot of cats. You wil also have to give them a very plausible explanation as to why you are getting rid of them all of a sudden. For more information call them at the number they have here or go speak to someone from the main office. You should have made sure they accepted pets before moving to that apartment because a pet is a family member not an old toyota that you can throw in the nearest junk yard whenever you feel like it because the windows are broken or because you have just bought a more modern one at your local toyota dealer. Have you even thought about how deeply you will hurt their feelings? Beware because tomorrow you can be the helpless one and others will just dump you in the nearest nursing home because they will view you as a burden. Not even god likes that.
Hi Diana, at this time the veterinary services we offer are spay/neuter and vaccines. For more extensive veterinary services like ultrasounds, please consult with your local vet. If it turns out your dog isn't pregnant, we'd love to help you book a spay with us. For more information, please visit: http://www.pasadenahumane.org/snip
Hi Vilma, you can see all our vaccine info here, as well as information about what we offer for flea control: https://pasadenahumane.org/services/affordable-vaccine-clinic/
They can euthanize an animal if he/she has terminal brain cancer for example or if he/she is sick with some other type of illness that is deemed incurable such as hepatitis or if they have cancer that has spread all over their bodies. Unfortunately, only god almighty can cure all these problems that are so severe. This is what they are referring to when they say that caring for an animal in this condition is beyond their scope. Curing them is virtually impossible. But I am sure they will do their utmost to bring this kitty back to health and give him up for adoption if he does not have an incurable illness.
Hello, how can we help you today? Please respond here or you can call us at 626.792.7151. Thanks; take care.
I would love to give him a great loving home, with my spayed loving Tina who is small for her one year old frame. She is black and white and loving.
That's depends on the type of shot it's best if you call them directly there very nice they will answer your question. Also some veterinarians run clinics kahoots the store on Mason and Devonshire they often have vaccination- clinics that are very reasonable very very reasonable.
Yes 2 ways. Call or by going down there.... Everyone there helpful and friendly. I'd call
Yes, they have boarding services. You can find out more information on their website under "services". Click "shelter shop and boarding"
Yes, you can but I strongly suggest that you either call them at the number listed here or go to the main office personally so that you can speak to an adoption counselor to see if they can give you a piece of advice on how to keep your baby. You see, a dog is a family member not an old pare of shoes that you can just discard simply because you no longer want them. Haven't you thought about how he took care of you and your family and how he consoled you when you were sad, as well as how he took care of the house? Are you 100% certain that this is how you want to return the favor? By getting rid of him just like that? Have some compassion because not even god views such callousness with favor. One day you can have a stroke for example, and become helpless and others might get rid of you just like that because they won't want to lift a finger to help you in any way.
Hi Luz...we accept stray animals from the following 11 cities: Altadena, Arcadia, Bradbury, Glendale, La Cañada Flintridge, La Crescenta-Montrose, Monrovia, Pasadena, San Marino, Sierra Madre, and South Pasadena. There no turn in fee for stray animals. If you found the cats in a different city, you will need to contact your local animal shelter.
Why don't you want him microchipped? I seriously doubt that they will allow you to forgo the microchipping because it is one of the most essential parts of the adoption process. You see, if for some reason he runs away you will lose him forever because nobody will be able to help you find him, not even the officers. Having this device can even save his life because if he is found injured in the middle of nowhere whoever finds him can call you right away so that you can pick him up and take him to the doctor as soon as possible. Or they can take him straight to the shelter to see if he can get medical attention while you come and pick him up.
I’m interested
Any. Just go meet a few and you'll find one. My love, my wonderful mutt, is my ESA dog. And he's more than shown his ability to do so. All I did was meet a few and connected with my boy. Go to the shelter. You'll find what you're looking for and be saving a life. :-)
Are you planning to trap, neuter, and release? There is a program(SNIP) that will help you free of charge if those are your intentions and you're in the service area. You can rent a trap from them and they'll fix all the cats for you free of charge. Then you return the trap when you're done and they give you back the deposit. Please consider helping these animals. It's hard work, but it's our responsibility as human beings. God bless.
Try the humane society, they might help
Call them if you haven't already!
In Pasadena you were allowed to visit the animals in person
No they do put them down
We have Visiting Hours where you can walk through our dog kennels and Neely Cat Center on Saturdays from 2-5pm and Sundays from 3-5pm, unless otherwise noted. Take it to the humane society they can find a home
There are volunteer opportunities but I don't think they are for a "one off" basis such as your birthday. It's best to ask the human society directly
They accept clean towels & blankets by the green gate.
Micro chipping is done by the Humane Society right there. Parking is mostly on the street.

Hi Jovanna, you can see all our found pets on our web site: https://pasadenahumane.org/services/lost-and-found/i-lost-my-pet/
Have you tried 1888spay4la.org , snpla.org , or fixnation.org ? I'd try keeping them inside only and perhaps rehoming the males so they're aren't accidents in the meantime.
Hi Steve, you can check out our wild animal resources, including a rattlesnake guide, on our web site here: https://pasadenahumane.org/services/wildlife/wild-animal-resources/ We care for injured wildlife, but we do not remove or relocate wildlife.
Hi, ferrets are actually illegal to have in the state of California, so we don't ever have any for adoption.
All our available pets are on our web site at pasadenahumane.org/pets.
Call them 1st! They're closed to the public & are at minimum staffing. They may be able to refer you to a kitten foster to keep momma cat safe. It's a bad time to be a homeless mother! Kitten season is coming & shelters are closed. 😿
You should drop him or her at the humane society they will take care of him or her.
There is a $5 fee for the adoption of any critter at the Pasadena humane society. For dogs and cats, this $5 fee includes spay or neuter, current vaccines, and a microchip. Hope you get a wonderful Kitty at the Pasadena SPCA! Sorry, the SPCA would know best.
I think they are only for rescues not boarding!
Hi Sara, you can see all our available dogs at http://www.pasadenahumane.org/pets
Yes. They should take your kitty.
Our volunteers need to be at least 15, but we have lots of opportunities for children younger than 15 to get involved! https://pasadenahumane.org/services/just-for-kids/
I am sorry to hear about this injured cat. I hope he survives. The pound or animal shelter, near your home, should be able to help. Call the nearest Humane Society and ask them if you could bring him in. Explain to them that you are not the owner but want to help this delicate stray. His brother I am sure is in kitty heaven. Sympathies for what was witnessed. God bless you.
Yes, they accept turtles. I brought my own turtle here last year.
Hi! Yes, you can. Please check out our baby mammal flow chart first. Thank you! https://pasadenahumane.org/animal-control/wildlife/help-ive-found-a-baby-mammal/
As far as I know they do rescue pitt bulls. But call them at the number they have here or go over there personally to leave them here. I hope they are strays and not your own. If they are strays they won't charge you the surrendering fee but if they are your own they will charge you about $30 for each one. You can also check their website for more information.
Yes you can bring her in but you have to pay approximately $30 for the surrendering fee and give them a valid reason for getting rid of her! You see, a pet is a family member with thoughts and feelings just like the rest of us not an old television that you can simply dispose of by calling the city's bulky item section to come and pick up! Beware because tomorrow you can be the helpless one due to a heart attack or a stroke for instance and others will coldly dispose of you by throwing you in the nearest nursing home because they will view you as nothing more than a liability! Remember that no good deed goes unpunished! Perhaps this will be god's way of getting back at you for your selfishness!
Yes, you can bring him here just be sure to report him as a stray when you drop him off at the main office because if you report him as your own they will charge you a surrendering fee of approximately $30 and they will want you to give them an explanation for getting rid of him. They will try their best to bring him back to health and to give him up for adoption if he doesn't have anything incurable.
Also when you bring an animal in to get adopted, they should give you a code so you can call and ask about that animal and where they are in the adoption process :)
Pasadena humane society does not euthanize.
Probably
Yes
We take in any strays from our service cities. Please check if you're in one of our service cities by visiting this page: https://pasadenahumane.org/whats-happening/in-your-city/.
Hi Andrea, check out pasadenahumane.org/vax for our pricing!
This is not the Humane Society's website. If you ask them a question here, they won't see it. You needed to go to their website directly.
Please see our page on what to do if you find a baby bird (see link below). If you need assistance with the baby bird you can call 626.792.7151 and speak to our wildlife department. https://pasadenahumane.org/animal-control/wildlife/help-ive-found-a-baby-bird/
You can walk in to see a dog
After 10am they close on mondays
Well Los Angeles County signed one laws on pet sterilization, requiring most dogs and cats to be spayed or neutered by the time they are 4 months old. The ordinance is aimed at reducing and eventually eliminating the thousands of euthanizations conducted in Los Angeles' animal shelters every year.
If you have a dog that needs to be spayed or neutered, you can come to our Sunday low-cost clinic. The cost varies by the dog's weight. For more information visit pasadenahumane.org/snip.
Hi Samantha, it doesn't look like we have a husky named Ryley at this time. You can check out the dogs in our care at pasadenahumane.org/pets.
Are you referring to Roxy? http://bit.ly/A455357. She's looking for a home.
Hello, you can contact Lucy Pet Foundation (855) 499-5829, The Amanda Foundation (310) 278-2935, The Sam Simon Foundation (888) 364-7729. Call some of those numbers and they can help you with the surgery.
Hi Elaine, we do not take donated pillows. Thank you for asking. We do take blankets and towels, though!
Have no idea, contact them directly
Hi Miriam, you can check out all of our dog training classes at pasadenahumane.org/training. Take care!
I don't think so, but not sure
Why don't you call them & ask them directly? You'll definitely get the correct answer from them!
I would ask this question directly of the Humane Society, rather than a public forum. You will get the correct answer from them, but not necessarily from a member of the public. Just call them!
Please call aspca you will get a quicker response than posting here. Please, for the dogs sake.
Hi Lisa, you can learn all about our end of life services here: https://pasadenahumane.org/services/end-of-life-services/.
I am not affiliated with the Pasadena Human Society if you contact them I am shure they will help you with your problem...
Depends where you go the hospital that's expensive try a private doctor ..
If I remember correctly, they usually hold free adoption events for cars based on their capacity levels. We adopted a dog there in July 2018 and that's what the volunteer told us.
Call them directly, but from prior experience, I know if someone is over 60 yrs old, or a particular dog is consider a "senior" ie over 7 yrs old, or a person is a military veteran all adoptions are FREE to the new home member.
pasadenahumane.org/services/spay-neuter-my
Yes, they do accept volunteers. You just need to meet their requirements.
The cost is nominal $ 22.00
Yes
Hi Berna, please visit pasadenahumane.org. Under the services tab, you can check out our Spay/Neuter services and Vaccinations. Thank you.
All cats are vaccinated upon intake except euthanasias. All are sterilized before an adoption. They also provide low cost spay/neuter by appointment and low cost vaccines on wednesdays and Saturdays (check hours on the website) so long as there is a veteranarian on campus.
It wouldn't be possible for an adopter to adopt all animals as there are restrictions on the amount your city allows. A rescue could take a big number but that comes with some inspection to make sure all animals have proper husbandry, care ect.
They will intake the animal if it is from one of our service areas. If it is out of the service area, they will refer you to the correct shelter that will give the animal the best opportunity to be reclaimed.
Yes, we offer euthanasia. You can bring your pet in to our main office. Very sorry.
Its closed Thanksgiving day but open 9 am to 6pm the following day.
No they don't . Low cost vaccination, spaying and neuter and bording.
You need to visit your vet. The cost is minimal.
Yes
thx much ..!
Still considered young, though pit bulls, like much older breed of dog get a bad rap due to abusive owners in past , ie training for dog fights or encouraged to make into aggressive guard dogs ,the dogs if cared for and loved can be a very loving loyal breed, the caring staff will work very hard to get her to a loving home, that will agree in contract adoptive form to not use your dog for those purposes. They even have trained professional behaviorist to deal with any difficult habits the animal may have. The facility is very clean and animals are well-cared for until they get a new home. Frequent adoptive days are offered as well, like no-cost for veterans to adopt as well as Senior discount Free adoption if an older dog is adopted by any Senior over 60 yrs old. Vaccinations, neuter/spraying, and microchip are free as well. They need any donated extra clean towels you may have as well to bathe the animals. And of course animal treats to encourage good behavior.
Not sure PHS is certain to find gigo a home. Some are posting on nextdoor sites.
it all depends on what they have on schedule for what needs to be done. first come - first serve type of orderly situation~!
good luck :(
Yes you need to live in PHS jurisdiction area.
A covered area is available for each dog. You may bring a bed and blanket. I would not recommend it. It's a great facility for boarding. Misters when it's too hot, great care, and, for an extra fee, they will provide 30 minutes of play each day. Best price and care around and your fees support the work they do.
Hi Wendy...we are an open door shelter excepting animals from the following animal control contract cities: Altadena, Arcadia, Bradbury, Glendale, La Cañada Flintridge, La Crescenta-Montrose, Monrovia, Pasadena, San Marino, Sierra Madre and South Pasadena.
They had a lot of volunteers there who seemed to enjoy their work.
Yes, he was adopted this week!
PHS does not offer dental work. They do spaying, vaccine.
The bus?
Hi Dylan...we do not currently offer rabbit spay/neuter at our public clinic.
Absolutely it may be a $25 surrendering fee.
Yes you can take him there because as you probably already know, this is a no-kill shelter.
Bringing the dog back would be an acceptable and safe choice.
Where is the place?
You may want to check with the fishing game department
You might want to try the Sam Simon Mobile Veterinary Clinic
Go to SPCA. Ask for an appropriate location to set them free.
Check PHS website
Check the website
You should have to call and ask them directly how can you volunteer there, although i'm sure they would be happy to have your help.
Hi Frank...We are so sorry to hear about your mom. We accept owned animals from the cities of Altadena, Arcadia, Bradbury, La Canada, La Crescenta, Monrovia, Pasadena, San Marino, Sierra Madre and South Pasadena. If you live in one of these cities, we can take the dogs in. You can also try to rehome the pets yourself without having to bring them to a shelter. Some tips are: -Post a photo and bio of your pet on your social media channels. -Talk to your friends, family, neighbors, coworkers or other social networks about your pet. -Contact a breed-specific rescue if your pet meets the criteria. -Create a pet profile on Rehome, a free tool design to help pets find new homes without having to spend time in a shelter.
Their website has all the info you need
The humane society will not go out to catch a bird. They wont case after cats either. When I requested a pickup of a sick stray cat I was repeatedly asked if the cat was secure in a box so it cant run away, and was directly told that they will not chase down a cat
Oh they will definitely take it, I've seen a lady take in a rat that got hit by a car and they took it.
You should call in
Yes you can
Yes go check them out
Not likely but the best way to find someone is to give them a call.
Absolutely! 😊
Call Pasadena Humane Society. They'll tell you how to qualify. Thank you for wanting to take care of animals that deserve everyone's care. If you are too young, it won't be long before you do qualify. Hold on to your desire to help until you're old enough. You're a really great young adult for wanting to help.
The right thing to do is to first talk to the neighbor about the situation. Sadly people today spend less time talking to each other. If they are not approachable, then the next step is to speak to animal control. That is what I would do.
Nope
like $100
a
Go to the Pasadena Humane Society and check in at the front desk. They'll connect you to the person that handles adoptions. Look around and find some cats you like. Write down the numbers from their cages and consult with the staff member you're connected with. They'll help you figure out a good fit. Good luck!
What breed of what?
If you're afraid of it call the Humane Society, they'll come and pick it up.
Google Pasadena Humane Society, go to their website, and there will be a contact number.
The Pasadena Humane Society is a excellent place to adopt a puppy, older dog. The staff have many resources. They're very professional and knowledge . My wife and me found a crow that was dehydrated and hurt and we dropped it off at the Pasadena Humane Society they just asked where we found it and sign some documents they email us that the crow got well and was let go to fly for freedom to Sky.
Yes they can help with all your needs for your dog and good prices also
You should go to Pasadena Human Society then, its a great place to adopt.
There are many online references that will lead you to a local training center.
I also say Pasadena
Hi Maria, how old is your teacup Yorkie? How old is the Maltese? I would love to adopt! Thank you
