Great spot for coffee or snacks. The customer service is great.

This place is reopened now. Coffee is delicious. Sandwiches are available. The area is spectacular especially in the morning. It is best in the morning because the human created noise is still low; therefore, you can hear clearly and enjoy the wounderful sounds of nature. Finally, if you train your brain to listen to the sounds of nature; eventually, you will discover a whole new world. Recomend to do it with a cup of coffee. Parking in the area is limited.

Arrived 30 minutes before sunset. Lucky to find parking immediately. Pier access was closed but beach and promenade were open. Clean beach. Limited street parking. People were social distancing and wearing masks. Lots of dogs! Love it!

The Pier is closed today, probably due to big surf these fast few days. It's always beautiful here.

Definitely a good spot for crabs! Smelt is great for bait and squid also works. Fishing is also great here for smelt, perch, sometimes mackerel ( fire on el ninõ years), and teh big three, salmon, halibut, and stripers from May thru August. Another thing to remember if netting is to bring thick and more then enough rope. Ive already lost a net here to the strong winter storm. If snaring (the more popular option) than just beware of the pilings. Any time is good but big tide changes from November thru June is great for Dungeness. Come early if you want a good spot with a bench
it depends of what you intend to catch. for stripe bass, live anchovies, herring, and sand crabs are the best, for Salmon, anchovies and herrings
It's very dangerous during late nights and help is limited during those late hours , I don't recommed it.
I wouldn't know how to answer that question because I don't know about Fishing
Yes! and you don't need a license and be sure to go when the waves are down (not Nov &Dec) it will snap your trap line.
Mori Point
Rock crab is okay Dungeness is not
You can take a whole dayto shot the time, crab is in the winter, the best time to catch.
Dogs are not allowed on the pier itself but every where else around the pier is totally fine. There are tons of dogs around all the time.
City of Pacifica
Hours are same. And yes you can crab.
Not really... there is a Cafe bait shop but not like you describe. Great place to go crabbing and fishing.
Probably and if you can't find parking its not that far from other parking in the area
Some people do, but it's quite dirty and birds fly over.
Rock crabs and red crabs are ok to harvest
Not sure what u mean
No dungeness crabs. Season ended last day of June. Red/rock crabs ok. Buy a measuring Gauge or get a big ticket.
I am not a crab fisherman, however I saw first hand the the water was about 20 feet down from the pier. Not sure about the rocks, but saw most people crab fishing with poles and having a lot of luck.
not if you catch it on the pier. it also must be at least 5 3/4 inch inside the spikes
It's best you check with the City of Pacifica for an accurate answer.
Crab season is usually November through June but you need to be informed where you're going to be crabbing
Check the California salt water fishing guide or download it here http://www.eregulations.com/california/fishing/saltwater/
Yes, you can have your own pole. There is a bait shop about a block away. I'm not sure, but may be in half moon bay to rent boats
Perch, smelt, strippers, etc. Depending on what you're fishing for, a lot of fishers there use shrimp. I personally prefer squid. If you're fishing for perch, I would use sandcrabs. Good luck.
Yes it's true, crab season is over for the time being. BUT......There is a store that sells all kinds of fresh crab, salmon, etc. I don't recall the name or the street but it is on the corner next to the barber shop. Its just passed Winters bar, and across the street from public works, and its under on over pass, just before you get on HWY 1 towards Halfmoon Bay. Please let me know how it goes. Im not big on sea food but i still can cook it for a special occasion.
You could keep it as long as a) you are in season and b) it's bigger than 5 3/4". Since the season closed on June 30 the answer is no.
Not that I am aware of, but there at the coffee shop you can buy crab cages
Thanks for the info Erin. Maybe i will give a try next month.
I had pretty good luck- caught 3 (1 keeper) in about 3 hrs. It was my first time so if you have experience probably you could do better.
Don't go on the beach. I got creamed by a killer wave out of nowhere at low tide!
Yep. There were plenty of people doing it when I was there.
Many out crabbing. We saw someone catch a crab with eggs. It was a beautiful day but definitely cold. I hope you enjoy.
From the top of the pier to the water its 40ft high. At the end of the pier the water is 35ft deep.
Yes, make sure what season it is. A crab net will work, but a crab snare on a big pole with good line is preferred at this pier.
You're better off looking at the tide tables, crab eat when the water is on the move and not so much during slack tide, at least that's what I found
