Hello, I would like to learn to catch Doungenous crabs. Does anyone know how high it is from the top of pier to the ocean surface? Also, where is the best place not get my crab trap’s ropes tangled by the rocks?

I am not a crab fisherman, however I saw first hand the the water was about 20 feet down from the pier. Not sure about the rocks, but saw most people crab fishing with poles and having a lot of luck.
