My couple buddies of mine want to go crabbing and I heard Pacifica is the best place to go. Is there a particular area that is best and what times are good to go? We were thinking about starting early from 6 am - 10 am.

Definitely a good spot for crabs! Smelt is great for bait and squid also works. Fishing is also great here for smelt, perch, sometimes mackerel ( fire on el ninõ years), and teh big three, salmon, halibut, and stripers from May thru August. Another thing to remember if netting is to bring thick and more then enough rope. Ive already lost a net here to the strong winter storm. If snaring (the more popular option) than just beware of the pilings. Any time is good but big tide changes from November thru June is great for Dungeness. Come early if you want a good spot with a bench

The end of Pacifica Pier is best. Less windy than the middle.

The local guide has it pretty well covered.

it depends on the tide! you have to check the tides for the day you plan to go.
