I am blessed to have a roof over my head, 3 meals a day, showers, and laundry facilities. BUT.....why do the same few people continue to break rules, everyday, several times a day, never get a warning, citation, or exited at least overnight? Meals are strictly donations, not the best, and small portions. Showers are either extremely hot, or chilly. The central bath and toilet areas, I don't even let my dog get on the floor.

At the The Bridge they Security treat you like an animal. It it supposed to be a place that the homeless call home. They the treat you with no respect.Talk to you like you are trash
Larry Swann
The Bridge is a good homeless shelter! They offer 3 meals, free Dr, people who help you get back on your feet! Security is a great team..nice, friendly & they take care of you! They help you find a home! It takes times to come back From homelessness! ***take advantage of all thats offered to you!*** It a place to rethink your directions in life!

I had to come back to get my rental housing it wasn't easy I was here for almost 9 months you can't give up on what you started, what I learned is you must survive in order to succeed and move on with your purpose Jesus has for you. The resources are better then California and Las Vegas.. they supported me while family and friends did not I'll never forget that. And I will give back to the community when I make it.

Dallas Life Foundation is terrible go to Salvation Army it's real nice be there by 2:30 pm 3:00 pm for intake
It's 3 weeks for sure
Yeah it's alright... However trying to get in is the problem... No one answers the phone to inquire about ANYTHING! It's alright overall! Also, they have a Case Worker by the name, Keisha TYRON! SHE IS SIMPLY THE BEST! WHY? BECAUSE SHE ACTUALLY GIVES A DAMN! AND IF YOU ARE HOMELESS, THE LAST, THE VERY LAST THING YOU NEED IS SOMEONE WITH A NEGITIVE, AND NASTY ATTITUDE! GOD BLESS, AND MAY HE KEEP YOU!
The Bridge does not charge a stay fee nor they charge for their services.
Yeah...do the intake and get a Bridge ID. Then you can shower; wash your clothes; get breakfast or lunch...maybe both; have access to medical and mental care.
Salvation Army accepts families. You may be housed with the men and your wife and kids together on the other side. The one on Harry Hines Blvd across from Parkland Hospital.
Yes they have a kennel. You can take the dog out for a walk and play with him in the kennel
One suitcase
What about your drivers license?
I believe its a year but you can leave whenever you want..
Your more likely to get a bed faster with multiple health issues..
They stop letting people in around 8:00 or 9:00 p.m. I do believe.
Yes
Yes it is of you don't have a. Bridge id you should gp early like right now to get one
The one on the corner of Harry Hines and Butler. It's right across the street from the Old Parkland Hospital. Don't be surprised if you can't get in. You have to line up about 2PM or earlier every day if you want a bed at night. Your stay isn't guaranteed. Felons are released on parol and forced to go to the Salvation Army. Even when they have beds available they turn people away. The one in Ft Worth is supposedly a much nicer place to stay. Also, if you have an income you have to pay to stay there. You'd be better off at Dallas Life, Austin Street Shelter, Shared Housing, Family Gateway or Nexus.
Ok great... do they happen to send acceptance letters? Sometimes parole requires them
Yes you have to be a resident there to eat supper
It's probably best if you go in person but you could check the website at the very bottom of the home page or in the menu bar to see if there is an application option. I know people who stay there and it's mostly volunteers that work there other than the counselors or therapist or doctors. Good luck.
Yes you can I work from 12am to 6am
First night you stay in intake. They should give you a weekend or 3day mat. Make sure to see your case manager the third day for a 3 week mat. Depends on the amount of people there..
They have counselors and people that can help you with food stamps and Medicaid and identification cards and everything else that you need.
Yeah... Just take care of your business OG. They a whole mess. But they will help you.
5:30am
Tuesday from 1 to 3 at the welcome building and i think also thursday from 1 to 3 but Tuesday for sure
3pm,and if it's raining, hope you don't get on the bus that's missing some of the windows;the seats near them will be wet,and when the bus gets moving;let's jus say....naahhh, words don't do it justice...
There's a gated parking lot for employees but you can't park in there but you can usually fing a parking spot outside of The Bridge. Worse case scenario...you may end up using metered parking, paying for parking or parking somewhere where you have to walk a short distance.
They don't like to let women in. You'd be safer going to Austin Street Shelter or to Dallas Life. They take men, women and families. It's hard to get in to the Bridge because they have 49 mats for women and 150 for men. Women don't usually abandon a mat once they get one. Just know this: You must have a valid picture ID to get in to the Bridge or any shelter and sometimes a SS card too. At Dallas Life you need a valid picture ID and a Social Security card. You sleep on a bed at Dallas Life, don't have to line up every day (once in you can stay there up to 24 months), Saturdays are open floor, Sunday after 1PM it's open floor. I stayed there 6 months and I think it's the best place for a woman to stay. Good luck to you...
Try All the family members you know first Then try all the friends you know of his
Yes, after have obtained a ID from the shelter you'll be able to come and showe, and have a meal, and a few other daily needs they may be able to provide for you.
ALLWAYS a chance with all in need and we have our FATHER"GOD IS WIRH US AND GUIDING US
Go to the Corsicana Street Entry. There is always someone at the desk, usually Ms Brown, who would be happy to help (assist) you, as to where to take the coats. I'm sure they will be greatly appreciated. God Bless You!
Get there very early in the morning, say at 6am, fill out an application and get a bridge I'D. The go line up (ask for directions to line up and where) and get a case worker. Stay on top of your case worker because they easily forget us. I see them helping other people and it's like I've become invisible. Very annoying.
It's difficult to get someone by phone at the bridge. Best to go in person to talk with someone. Good luck
With certain services like housing yes....as long as u have a bridge id u can eat, see a case manager (if u get on the twice daily list on time), parkland , metrocare and texas workforce services
It can b very beneficial....stay 2 urself..dont b overly friendly...but when ur only other option is the street....yes its a good place
Cats are not recognized as service animals like dogs, so that’s not an option.
Contact them directly. Do an intake and they will help refer you to the services that you need.
You may be able to get housing rent free for up to two years of you are homeless and stay there.
Yeah. They have a library.
First floor service building. Or the front gate leave with the safety officer
Come give it to us we need it
You have to have a covid test in it have to be done with then the last 72 hrs so 3 days.
Suppose to b giving them shelter in all states.
No..the free shuttle goes to Parkland twice a day...once in the morning and once in the afternoon... approximately 9:30 and 1:00 from the Stewpot...
No
.. because; for one,its not their mail, and two,you are in a shelter, not a citizen at a real post office... was there almost three years, they dont all suck, but most do...
I am not quite sure as how their paperwork works but, I would guess as giving to the needy.
Absolutely you can..The Bridge is pet friendly😁
No, for as long or short period of time as you need it!
The next time I go there, I will ask around, make a comment so I can reply back. Also, Dallas Life Foundation and Austin Street Shelter.
The bridge is ok,I just dont like curfews.
Okay course your need to check out the Maverick game b4 you go
Call The Bridge if not needed there they will refer u some place.
He has to go down to the facility in person to see if he meet qualifications. If not, he needs to look into the Salvation Army program for newly released.
Facility*
No children at the bridge. Too many sex offenders there.
That has nothing to do with it . They are strict on that because if they weren't then they would have to bend the rules for everyone. Trust me I was there in March. That is the best place for help if your on the streets . Yes they are strict but they do more for you than. Any other place will . Just make sure your in line for lunch and follow the rules and do everything they say and you will ha e your own place very soon .
Ok when can i do this is a lot of things i need to let them know about this place
Only if you are 18 no children are allowed at the bridge ,you will need an id
Yes they would be glad to take. Your donation plus you can get a receipt for tax write-off purposes
It varies. From what I've seen..3 months to 10 years
Yes you can . it's easier with any I.d. but you don't have to have one to get a bridge I.d.
A place in downtown Dallas called Gateway. Google it
No,the Dallas life foundation does.
....yep,gotta get inside...this late in the day,not sure how likely it is tho,i wouldn't tell em you're only there to find someone either
normally the staff can give out almost nothing; however ive heard of em,contacting the person, and telling them that someone is asking for them to come out and meet with them....they're not too forthcoming with details,"family emergency "helps with their being forthcoming, but i didn't say that...
They do take sevin days a week but that doesn't mean you will get a mat if you can find alternative housing I would go with that
They start taking signup for intake at 5am...to get an ID the same day of intake you would need a letter from the shelter you stayed at Sunday night.
Yes you can....
3 PM I believe, maybe 5.
If you go into a program there you can stay for quite a while. I'm not sure about the second question.
600,by the rules..sometimes, a little later...i don't know the number
New Rule in the name of Russia 1 email address even if you switch phone companies no more do you get cyber hacking money cause Google as had enough laundry rock style chemically inbalanced style Samsung gear is back to damn bad and no more under cover agents lots of fun to have TV show with gifts to come
That is actual a question best addressed with online research and to speak with facility faculty. In reference to any issues with Attorneys and media this would be my suggestion. However, if you are familiar with the person and the circumstance your question would be answered best from them, because like family & friends if your intentions and concerns are good they will be able to provide a good answer for you.
They have an outpatien treatment program.it starts at 8 am to 10 am but you must let the women at the office to get you in. I did it and am now completely sober. Very good program and a fun teacher
Early is best so you get on the list. 7 am is my suggestion if not a little before
You can't speak up for yourself up there. They wield their power over you of you needing their help and talk to you any kind of way. I'm 24 years old and the the staff which many are over 40, talk to you real disrespectful and act like children in high school. You're supposed to be providing a service for the homeless, not dictating their lives. It's horrible there. The air is not clean so you will get sick if you're immunocompromised. No defibulators on sight and no one is medically trained.... Even to handle cpr. I'm a very respectful individual this was the worst homeless shelter I've been to and it's sad.
DEBBIE ECKEBERGER HOW CAN I GET IN FOR HELP LIKE ASAP
people are going to smoke,if they're in the bathroom smoking much smaller area to pick them up from, bathroom is cleaned at least twice a day, by actual employees, not pretenders doing their ggbs..so then you have ,sweeping, and mopping of the butts, rather than just being picked up all over nonsmoking part of courtyard...actually quite efficient, i would say
Yes they have a working mental health clinic on the cite and counselor's
Until you find housing.
The UGM is no cost, and you have to check in by 4 at the Bridge they may have space on an emergency mat at the e bridge. Dallas life is no charge first week, a couple programs offered for no cost, or around $12 a night pay to stay. Check in 4-6.
There is a girl there named Nikki she is always there her hair is blonde and short but don't know where she is from could ask tmmrw if that would help?
put down the phone,go to service bldng, tell whoever is behind desk to call safety
You will have to go to the stew pot for your I.d. the bridge will just send you in the right direction
Sorry Morgan, I am just a volunteer, who serves lunch. Unfortunately, I can not answer your questions. They are open right now. There are administrative staff that answer your questions. Walk over there. They are located 1818 Corsicana Street, south of downtown Dallas. Wish you the best...in Jesus Name
You can.. But its not wise.. Lose your bed.. Its not worth it of you're in need
They take breaks for lunch but you can get morning or afternoon visits to see a doctor.
If you have a mat there is a 5:00 pm count but you dont have to be in until 6:00 pm. If you are not here by 6:00 pm you lose your mat. The next day you have to meet with a care manager and try get it back. If you dont have a mat you should get here as early as possible and try to get a one night mat or a three day mat.
At the bridge shealther 1818 Corsicana, Dallas , Tx 75021
Been their too n its true..City of Dallas is a halfway houses n only porales n folks out jail.cause the state of texas pays the city to house them n the homeless are screwed..its all a money bank to them..corrupted..
And what does this have to do with the Bridge exactly?
If you are working, Dallas Life would be a better option. $12 per night, first four days free.
Intake is where you are processed in at. You are given an ID and case manager.
in theory you would talk to safety officers..there are cameras at various sites about the premises, but are only used to roll back after crime is reported
Yes As long as that person is brought back
Austin Street Shelter is much more better. It's located at 2929 Hickory. She will need a State Identification Card. Also, she must be at least 18.
A place called stew pot its open early about 6 am they help to pay for i.d birth cert and gives you temperature I'd to help for i.d to get help from other shelter but the stew pot I only a day shelter.
8:00/10:00/2:00 and 6:00 Mon-Sat.
I think so...
the old man who was denied entry after offering to be searched, told he'd have to go thru metal detector without Dr prescribed cane, crawled thru detector, pulled himself to his feet, yelled,at while grasping inhaler, was then told to leave..week later,he was told simply tapes are being reviewed "..no apologies, no nothing..large guard who enjoyed the show, was at work the next nite. .sorry, what was the question?
They don't like to tell outside ppl for safety reasons i assume if they are still there are not they I had that issue as well and they did not tell me
If u get up there early u can talk to a case manager they can help u
They can help you if you get there's e early they don't have bedbugs
I don't know why don't you call them and ask them
No, you have to go before like 8:30 to register and get an id.
Nope if you get into the Bridge which most of the time its full you will be in some what of a garage with about 50 to 100 men and on the other side 50 to like 60 women and if you don't get in to the Bridge they will bus you to U.G.M. Union Gospel Mission on Irving Boulevard it's with the Bridge but in a different location be on guard U.G.M. ain't exactly the best place but a hot meal hope you have your own soap cause they make you take a shower before bed o and you have to give them your phone and you get it back in the morning
Yea it's free if you can get in but you must see a case worker once a week
Yes if you pay you can stay for a while
Yes, there's always available space for women, but you've got to get there early to assure a bed.
Call and ask them
Come on over 1818 Corsicana St, Dallas, Tx 75201. And we'll leave the lights on..... If you get there early, you should be able to get a bed ..
What is your question
The Dallas life Foundation will take you in
Yes they have a place for you to stay.
I will pick life and the bed but just be careful of bed bugs.
The Bridge will send you to UGM to sleep you have to be at the bridge before 3
If you want to share a room since you are married, go to Dallas Life. I live at Dallas Life and I think it's the very best shelter to stay at in Dallas. Especially for married couples and families with children. Also, it's very much in your favor that your husband has a job. Salvation Army is a good place to stay but it doesn't compare to Dallas Life in my opinion. Dallas Life offers ammenities and help that other shelters do not offer. Honestly, Dallas Life IS A VERY GOOD SHELTER. Better than any other shelter. It's just wrong to bash Dallas Life and I know from living here that the people that leave here angry did something to deserve either getting kicked out or left in a huff because they dont want to adhere to the rules.
Robert is right. You have to go through intake and they check your things through metal detectors looking for scissors, weapons, dope, etc. Then you have to pass through a metal detector that scans your body and they can see what's on your person. If you have a valid ID from any state and a social security card I also recommend Dallas Life over The Bridge. They do background checks and certain felons can not gain admittance in to Dallas Life. The bridge takes any felon and no children or families. You sleep on a mat on the concrete. At Dallas Life you sleep in a bed and the first 5 nights are free. It's really a matter of preference. If you want to stay at the Bridge be there at 6am or you probably won't get one. Then you have to go back every day at 6am to try to get a mat. Dallas Life starts intake around 4pm so get there early. You can also try Austin Street Shelter, Salvation Army and Union Gospel Mission for men in Irving, TX. Good luck to you.
Plenty of good safe shelters here in Dallas texas
At the Dallas Love Field Airport??! WHY?? WHAT are you doing here? Are you here in Dallas visiting someone, OR did the Airline get stuck here for a FEW days OR are you just passing through Dallas? Your story sounds fake AND "fishy", hmmmm?? 🤔🤔 ??
You can go & have someone get her to the entrance out front. And meet up with her out there.
No. The Bridge is not set up for visitors of residents. It's best to meet your party outside of the shelter
You have to have a Bridge I.D. to enter the grounds/facility. But you can visit one at the entrance . You can call to verify this info.
IF you have children with you, Dallas Life AND The Salvation Army will take Single moms with kids. ONLY The Bridge AND Also Austin Street Center Shelter ARE For ANY Single (NO children) males And females. And IF you ever need ANY extra help with a Caseworker, The Bridge AND The Stewpot ARE four times Better at helping you Than The Salvation Army And Austin Street Center Shelter. The Stewpot ISN'T a Shelter, it's kind of like a "Soup Kitchen place". 📔🕯 Good Luck To YOU! 😎 ✌
Call the bridge main number. But if father doesn't want name released they won't tell you if he is or isn't there.
The bridge is NOT the place for children..try dallas life foundation on cadiz or salvation army on harry hines
No i had a expired Wisconsin id and received services here
It's a lie, Dallas Life is the worst place to live in. They have bed bugs, and the staff is disrespectful.
Yes n no....u have to b staying at the bridge to be a top priority for housing assistance but they will still help u
The Shelter accepts couples but they're kept in separate wings of the facility.
No and yes
The Salvation Army
Yes. They have living arrangements for both.
Dallas Life has rooms for marriage couples! The service dog I'm not sure about! Austin Street, May let you in with it, But you will be separated, they have men/women sections. However, you will be out of the cold! Good luck, God Bless!
Fill out the doggy diggery do form and you'll be set. 👌
I live at the Bridge and they have a kennel for your dogs. You are limited as to your access to them but people here have them all the time.
U take the TRA TRAIN it will take u all the way here to DALLAS. And there R Jobs here if u really want to work but u really want to work & stay away from the drugs
Sorry, but NO, you have to show up in person....
Not sure if the bridge would pick him up but they would feed him.
I was housed within 3 months. Just work with the Case Manager and they will set benchmarks for you to get housing.
I don't know. You get a caseworker when u are there and they work it out with you
I have never lived there at the Bridge, but since l show up there, they do provide good services there whenever I attended on a daily basis.
Good services from the Bridge.
I'm New to Dallas and i need to know if there open today and what do I need to bring with me
Intake at the bridge is 24 hours a day. You may want to try the salvation army on Harry Hines as well.
My husband and i are from Houston we were evacuated from there to travis county and after the red cross shelter closed got no help so came here still nothing but a few gift cards. We are trying to get help to return to our family and kids in miami they could not help us during hurricane harvey because hurricane irma hit miami. We have all of our documents from the red cross shelter and our friend in houston lost everything and would not give us a letter of occupancy so we were denied fema and redcross funding. A member from a church here took us to dallas life but refused to let us stay there because it looks more like a prison then anything. We have been everywhere we just need enough gas and travel money so we can get an oil change and make the 26 hour drive to get home.
Couple's are welcome but you will not sleep together
