Robert is right. You have to go through intake and they check your things through metal detectors looking for scissors, weapons, dope, etc. Then you have to pass through a metal detector that scans your body and they can see what's on your person. If you have a valid ID from any state and a social security card I also recommend Dallas Life over The Bridge. They do background checks and certain felons can not gain admittance in to Dallas Life. The bridge takes any felon and no children or families. You sleep on a mat on the concrete. At Dallas Life you sleep in a bed and the first 5 nights are free. It's really a matter of preference. If you want to stay at the Bridge be there at 6am or you probably won't get one. Then you have to go back every day at 6am to try to get a mat. Dallas Life starts intake around 4pm so get there early. You can also try Austin Street Shelter, Salvation Army and Union Gospel Mission for men in Irving, TX. Good luck to you.

They have a security check point you have to go through. But if you're just trying to find somewhere to stay for the night you're better off checking out Dallas Life Foundation because the intake process is an all day process and then you still have to wait behind a long line of people sleeping outside that have been waiting for months to get inside

YES, They DO. They DON'T allow ANY of these things AT ALL inside The Bridge: weapons (as most know this Already) of ANY kind such as guns, big-ass knives, pocket knives, porn magazines, tazers, scissors, pepper spray, All kinds of drugs, All kinds of drinks And All kinds of foods. Sorry But... This is why MOST folks would rather sleep OUTSIDE Than to be told what to do, SAD But TRUE. I think the ONLY things they DO allow are people's cigarettes & lighter, shoes, clothes, books, Rated PG magazines (LOL) AND their toiletries.

They will search your property if you go into the facility even if youre not staying the night. They don't mess around with security.
