Been their too n its true..City of Dallas is a halfway houses n only porales n folks out jail.cause the state of texas pays the city to house them n the homeless are screwed..its all a money bank to them..corrupted..
no it's difficult and they try too make u jump thru a lot of hoops
A Bridge caseworker told me that everybody starts out on a mat (3 months), then transitions upstairs to a room & finally in to housing. I couldn't even get a mat because she blew me off! She told me the Bridge puts addicts & criminals into an apt. 1st. The City doesn't want the homeless in downtown Dallas. This is where the homeless shelters are! The "street" homeless begging downtown have drug/alcohol problems & shelters refuse to take them in. The Bridge plays favorites. My case workers (2) did NOTHING for me and I have 2 (two) terminal illnesses & have been on the Dallas Housing Authority List for 1 year now. Too bad the City reallocated the 1.3 million the gov. gave them to build low cost housing about 4 years ago. Recently the gov. made us pay back 1.8 million with penalties and interest. Go to Dallas Life. It's the best homeless shelter in Dallas. Also, you have to be at the Bridge at 5:30 am & you CANNOT book a room. At a hotel, yes. The Bridge, NO! Shame on you, Jonez.
No discrimination... Go around noon to book a room
