One of the best parks to enjoy a great beach day as we visited during the National Parks Day so we entered for free but it is normally $20 per day! I recommend visiting early when it opens! So much to see and definitely visit the visitor center as each park ranger offers so much information about the seashore! Bring your national park stamp book if you have one as there are at least 4 stamps in each of the visitor centers!

Beautiful day! Beautiful nature!

Very peaceful beach. Love the views.

Quiet and gorgeous in the late afternoons & now that school is in session, you have your own private beach

Yes! Canaveral National Seashore has 14 backcountry island camping sites. Visitors can use their own flats boat, pontoon, canoe or kayak to access designated campsites. Camping is available by reservation only. Campsite reservations can be made for $20 per night and up to six months in advance. https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/251854
Sure is, playa Linda is a no judgement zone. Just relax and enjoy yourself.
You can get there by car. There is a boat ramp on Apollo Side.
It's wonderful. No noise, no gimmicks, no airplanes - just quiet and restful. If I lived within 2 hours, this is where I'd be!
There are a number of stamps available at the following locations: Apollo Beach Visitors Center, Eldora Statehouse, Seminole Rest Historic Site, and a last one that can be found at Canaveral NS - Entrance Fee Station to Playalinda Beach or Canaveral National Seashore Headquarters office.
Yes, but we went passed Beach 6 before the crowd died out
Federal parks are pretty serious about taking anything off their land so I would definitely call the visitor's office and find out what the rules are. I would also Google where you can go shelling in the area you are visiting that are free to enter and are not on Federal Land. If you can get over to the West Coast of Florida, Sanibel Island on the Gulf of Mexico is a great place to go shelling.
No there is no vehicle access to the beach. Only parking that leads to boardwalks; taking you to the shore.
Yes it is now $20 for the season
@Kenneth, you can buy the annual pass at the gate anytime.
It's a partial shutdown but the holidays may affect hours
NO, you cannot drive any farther south than Lot 5. The dirt road you’re referring to is a ranger-only access road that is gated & locked. You CAN walk this road and there is indeed great fishing down that way. Good luck!
You wouldn't have been allowed to the beach; until, the launch period was over. You can see from the Astronauts' Hall of Fame.
YES, YOU CAN CAMP HERE (contrary to what most of the Local Guides “think”). The beach camp site closed in 2013 but there are more than a dozen back-country campsites in Mosquito Lagoon. This means you need a kayak, canoe, boat to get to the sites. Unfortunately all reservations are thru rec.gov now. You used to be able to get sites from the rangers. PS. Dear Local Guides. If you have to use the phrase “I don’t think” in you answer then PLEASE DONT ANSWER. Sheesh, the amount of incorrect answers from the supposed expert Local Guides is frustrating.
Please try "Tides Near Me" app...this is the best free app for tide info for USA
No, unfortunately not...
During daylight savings time the park closes at 8pm, 6pm during winter.
The Canaveral seashores are not dog friendly but in Port Orange going out all the way on A1A.
They close at 8 in the summer and 6 in the winter and you have to leave.
You can call the main office to do that
No you bring your own and pack it down from the parking areas
It is a part of this beach !!! The last 2 I think 12 and 13. Linda, there is nowhere to buy anything so if you are going to go bring something to drink and eat, there is no shade ... It is a few kilometers long
Not anymore it used to be that way
No Dogs allowed on the beach, not sure about the camping area
Long lines to get in on weekends but never seen a sellout but for summer time holidays.
It WILL be closed for this upcoming launch. Other answers are incorrect. Closing at 6pm the night before the launch.
Yes, they have self-contained toilets, similar to a port-a-potty. This beach is one of 10 shores in the country protected by the National Park Service. There is no running water, concessions, or other amenities one might expect from most beaches. However, you cannot beat the serenity and beauty of 24 miles of undeveloped shoreline.
Depends on the day but it's usually good for swimming and some boogie boarding
Pretty sure no pets allowed on gov't. controlled beach. The last lot for beach access is nude friendly to get that all over Florida tan. You can also view various Rocket launch pads. Plenty of wildlife off the beaten path. You won't be disappointed.
I did not attempt to go to the historic houses.
Not sure...just have to keep an eye on the site for any new info...
The park is usually open until about 8:00 p.m. but the entrance gates close at 7:00 p.m. I believe.
it is open. opens at noon, open till 8pm.
No
I think so far
Right there at the beach. Also go to baththane beach as well.
Yes. And there are signs warning of the nude beach. Its is a great place to explore the house is really cool
What kind of ticket and for what ,,most tickets if given by the park service will be paid at the park offices
Is there any free location I don't want to pay to to be at the sea its supposed to be free!
Most places off the main channel are only a few feet or just inches in depth
Yes. It is allowed around parking area 5. It is the very last parkimg area on the main road. There is a giant sign on the road warning that you may encounter nude sunbathers in that area.
I have seen people with dogs. The park service website lists where you can have pets and where you can't. They are not allowed on the beach or boardwalks leading to the beach. https://www.nps.gov/cana/planyourvisit/pets.htm
There's so many! I personally love wade fishing in Mosquito Lagoon.
I guess your first question is where can you fish that's on the beach. the answer to your second question I have ,Blue's catfish, sharks just to name a few..
It would be smart to bring your own water. I believe there is a spigot by a beach parking lot but I wouldn't gamble on it working.
Yes they are allowed in the lagoons and beach side. You should be aware the inland areas around the Cape have some very large alligators...although alligators are not too aggressive, large males during the breeding season can be....
Yes it does, discovered that the hard way with my son. Somewhat disturbing, but plenty of beach to go around.
Playalinda beach lot 2 has larger RV spaces
We were there last week and saw a lot of fish reeled in and we saw one big 5 plus foot shark
No pets, including horses.
There right the last one is nude.
Call first. National parks are closed bc of government shutdown and this beach is part of National Parks system
Officialy closed till further notice. The gate, however, is/was open. Can drive in a few hundred yards and park in the parking lot on the right. I did and simply walked across the street for beach access.
There are NO rental beach houses in Cape Canaveral National Park.
Apollo is more seculed and less crowded, less parking slots than playalinda. Individuals seemed more friendly. Playalinda is more easy to get to, more peeps and larger parking plus parking 12 os close by. At apollo parking 4 is far away. Best beach actually for nudity and overall us south, blind creek beach. Further drive but well worth it.
Having your own water is nice for a rinse off
Jellyfish baby's.. Water stings.. Millions of baby jellyfish..
No cabin but spots to camp at for tents but no rv. The spots that you can camp at you have to use a kayak or canoe to get to the water is only like three and a half feet deep on it best day so it's not bad and it's just straight across in some instances so you don't even have to be skilled and the ways of kayaking or canoeing to find a good spot to camp. . You could always try the Nova Campground cuz they have cabins and that's in Port Orange on Nova Road
Yes Turtle nesting season is between May 1st and November 1st each year. hundreds of turtles leave nests in the Canaveral National Seashore each season. The seashore has a program allowing visitors to view the sea turtles laying their eggs. once the programs are announced they fill up fast contact your National Park Service for more information.
If you have kids and stuff to carry go to 8. It has the shortest flatest cross-over... 13 is yhe "clothing optional" beach and some wander down as far 12.
You betcha! 13 crossovers... Each has a restroom in the parking area... The crossovers are all boarded walkways. #1 - #5 are the longest... #8 - #9 are the shortest. They all lead to beautiful open natural beach. There are only lifeguards at #2 or #3.
Inside Park on right hand side, less than A mile in. Coming from New Smyrna Side
Playalinda Beach from Area 13 north is unofficially clothing optional. Sometimes this nude area extends south into area 12.
I'm pretty sure its six. We put our boat in once at 620 and they were opem then...
Closed
a
Only on parts, the dunes obscured much of the view, however there are plenty of places to stop and walk over the dunes for views/beach access
