Yes! Canaveral National Seashore has 14 backcountry island camping sites. Visitors can use their own flats boat, pontoon, canoe or kayak to access designated campsites. Camping is available by reservation only. Campsite reservations can be made for $20 per night and up to six months in advance. https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/251854
YES, YOU CAN CAMP HERE (contrary to what most of the Local Guides “think”). The beach camp site closed in 2013 but there are more than a dozen other campsites in Mosquito Lagoon. This means you need a kayak, canoe, boat to get to the sites. Unfortunately all reservations are thru rec.gov now. You used to be able to get sites from the rangers. PS. Dear Local Guides. If you have to use the phrase “I don’t think” in you answer then PLEASE DONT ANSWER. Sheesh, the amount of incorrect answers from the supposed expert Local Guides is frustrating.
Remote camping on islands only...boats only...no campgrounds
