Best animal hospital
A
I called last week on behalf of my sister who has a sick dog. We were able to get an appointment after hours of being on hold and explaining on the phone what the symptoms are. It was made clear on the repeated recordings and the phone agent that they ONLY handle emergency cases NOT regular check ups. We were pretty much told that her dog doesn't stand a chance because she can't afford a private vet clinic or hospital care. So as we stand today her dog might have cancer, however they are NOT equipped to do senior blood panel, ultrasound. Apparently they are ONLY equipped for vaccine, spay, neutering procedures. This is confusing to me when it was repeated that appointment are ONLY for emergency cases. I asked if the ASPCA hospital has the resources and I was told my the vet- NO. We were advised to try other resources - like Humane Sociaty who NEVER answer the phone, return calls or emails. Or to try looking for an affordable private vet clinic. The vet felt a mass in the poor doggies belly, but unfortunately couldn't help us find out if it's cancer or a benign mass that can actually be treated. My take on today's appointment is that if you don't have the money or resources you should not own a pet. Since my sister does not have the resources to pay for these test we are left to suffer along with her doggie worried of what it might be causing her pain or discomfort. AND to read the reviews and to see that services were provided such as xrays, sonogram etc makes it even more confusing when were told those services were not available.

No matter when you call you will NEVER get an appointment.. my cat passed away

Excellent service

Yes they help you all you need is the card 💳 so you could show it to them and you give them what you want or what you have I did it I gave them $20
Not sure i had my cat put down cuz he was suffering and it was free due financial hardship. They work with you depend on financial status
No you has to keeping calling or try to go in person that what I do
Yes, some areas in the Bronx and Brooklyn are free to residents and for those living outside of those specified areas they do low cost options for those who qualify! You can call any of their many numbers to schedule a spay appointment at one of the trucks near you.
Bring proof of assistance and they will ask how much can you contribute
They are wonderful, it's free or super low cost like under $20, I had my dogs "balls be gone treatment" done there, and the put the tracking chip in too, and it was $17.
Gissel the ASPCA truck will spay and neuter and vaccinate your Yorkie for a$5.00 contribution. You have to get your Yorkie spay or neutered first if your Yorkie is already fixed they won't give it the vaccinations. 10 years ago i took my Chihuahua to the truck and they didn't charge anything. But you had to prove that you couldn't afford the procedure. Either a Medicaid card or something else. I gave them a $5.00 donation and now they charge$5.00 and call it a donation. Sometimes i make believe that it's because of my donation that they charge a donation. Just saying. Good luck.
Just remember ASPCA is by appointment only. My vet charged me 465 for cleaning and they pulled 3 tooth's.
If you have medicad or show proof of income they will work with you..
424 E 92nd St, New York, NY 10128 by appointments. Or just call and say for something closer to you.
Is the low income prices for those who live in queens or another borough
Yes. If you make under 75k a year
@Mrs Skody Yes they will.
They do, just book an appointment early. I have a German shepherd and she used to get these patches of missing hair, it ended up being the shampoo as she was allergic to it. They are very efficient, so do try them first👍🏼
They are always helpful in that regard. Just explain that to them when you get there
I think you check with ASPCA!!
I'm not sure they do that unless it's an emergency. The Humane Society is better equipped to handle that. I took my cat there for oral surgery, but because he only had half a mouth of teeth the vet offered to do it for half price. The ASPCA deals only with emergencies.
Please don't let your animal suffer! The exam is 45$ but if you can show extreme need, like proof you're on SSD/SSI, HRA, Section 8, food stamps, etc, they'll help you out with finances. That means payment plans. I asked and they worked with me in every way. For emergency cases there nowhere better IMO. Good luck! Feel better pup!
I have never seen one there but you should call and ask. Good luck!
I been trying get the appointment, but this number they have, have so many options but you can never actually talk with someone!!could someone help me please?
To 92st and 1st ave to the animal hospital but you have to call at 730am to get an appointment for that day.
Yes, when I was there someone with the same issue were getting their animal done who was on medicaid. They only asked for any type of donation.
No you don't have to call exactly at 8am, I called around 10 and was still able to get an appointment.
Yes they accept medicaid or proof of public assistance which should mostly be free. When I went with my grandma to do surgery for my cat they used my grandma's public assistance and did it for free and I picked up my cat the next day. Long story short they saved my cat and solved problem.
Call them and go. They're expert and will help your cat. Why are you waiting, just go.
Yes they accept the care credit as long as it is for your animal. Because care credit can also cover for animal health expenses.
Stay away from vets all they want is your money, call and suport your local aspca they are loving people
By apointment only first come first serve they saved my cats life last weekendife or death surgery urine blockage and stones, blue purl took $2200,and wanted another $4500 for the surgery aspca did it for a donation god bless the ASPCA and there doctors
Hey,you should call more earlier, like 7 they don't see you with not appointment. Call early
They only do by appointment now,you need to call early and try to get a chance.you can look online for the address and phone number. Its at 92 street i guess.
I'm not sure what a minion is, but if you've a dog or cat with an ear infection and you have ssi they will treat your pet. You just need to bring proof of the ssi. That's if they even ask, I don't recall them asking for my medicaid card they just asked if I had one of the qualifying services.
My dog died because there was never an able appointment terrible system the man taking appointment never helpful always call in the a.m called at 7a.m no appointment. How if you have to call a.m im one of the first? Smh my beautiful boy died
If you ask them they will give them to you, I had a cat with cancer and they gave me free medicine to relieve his suffering, just tell them you can't afford more meds and I believe they will give you a free prescription...
A.s.p.c.a. thank you so much for your help my baby that I had for 12 years they check him out and told me he had cancer he had to be put to sleep..it hurts me so much but I know now he's not in pain .he is not suffering anymore.he wasn't eating he lost a lot of weight...wow I'm still going threw it ...it has been only two weeks.since I lost him..I love him so much I think about him every day..... thanks to the A.S.P.C.A for you help my baby is no longer suffering.
Yes, you just need an appointment. They don't accept walk ins.
I wish I could take her but unfortunately no pets in my building. You can call them & see.
I just want to know if its open to buy a dog because I want to go to the main ASPCA to buy one are they letting people in yes or no or maybe
For now, all fees have been waived due to the Covid- 19 pandemic and the hardships it caused.
They have a mobile van that goes to different neighborhoods. You have to sign up on their virtual wait list which opens at 5:30am the day you go. I suggest being on at 5:30am because it fills up very fast. https://www.aspca.org/nyc/spay-neuter-services/mobile-clinic-waitlist
Yes
Yes they will you have to make a same day appt start calling at 7am
Call them up and explain your situation they will take care of you. Very professional people and very nice people.
The hospital is an emergency trauma hospital but you can try another low cost option like the Humane Society, they do the full dental package for around $380.
Yes, was told it's only for emergency situations only.
You have to call ahead and make an appointment to go in and see them. Call the main number and follow the prompts.
Sweetie you have to call the ASPCA my ASPCA
Wow I live in the Bronx and the ASPCA free here now why the coronavirus is going on they have an office located in the Bronx on 161st Street and also on 92nd Street and York Avenue in Manhattan the number is Mae ASPCA man you can give him a call and they can tell you what to do I'm so sorry that's the best I can help you out with
I don't think so
Aspca call them and explain but call them now
If you have Medicaid they do it for Free
Tell that to the aspca, the may be able to make accommodations. They are the lowest cost based on income. When something costs a lot, they are usually significantly cheaper.
Yes in the bronx. At 501.E.161st Bet. 3ave brook ave...
Call them it's by appointment they are very helpful I had a puppy 1week old torn and ripped bottom jaw they helped and helped with the fees
you need to call asap they will take u in the same day if u have a sick pet
You can set up an appointment with aspca, niggatry know that you will be waiting a while for treatment. It would be best to try a local vet instead for a quick prescription.
I live in Manhattan upper west side. When will the ASPCA mobile unit be in my area?
Hey. It depends if you have nyc housing its free and if you have snap. Also if you have public assistant its also free 😁
Honestly no they won't allow it on the train unless it's a service dog.
One question, how much do my dog charge for x-rays? I think her hand cracked and I need to cure her
Yes
You can try the ASPCA on 91st York Avenue. They will work with you. Cost 45.00 to walk in and they will do a payment plan for you.
Why would anyone pay to adopt a pet. That should be free. There are a few places in every county that are reputable and do free adoption. The animals get shots and get fixed. They even get you started with food. Can't complain about that. Good luck getting a pet.
It's according to how much you earn....less than 75000 or if on Medicare/Medicaid you pay what you can afford. But it's only for more emergency care !!!!!!!
Three dogs will be expensive because if they need extraction forget it. Be ready to pay at least 800.00 usd. Good luck.
Bring in proof that you make less than 75,000 a year and based on that you can pay what you can afford. I too have Medicaid and i paid what i could afford. Medicaid does not pay for the vet services! It's a way of proving you make less than 75000 obviously because i have Medicaid. They saved my 18 yr old dog's life twice!!!!!
Depends if you want ashes or not, but they do not charge for euthanasia if you are on some type of assistance program such as Medicaid or SNAP.
I suggest take your dog to the vet.
I would call the ASPCA and make an appointment ASAP. They will only see your dog by appointment and they charge by income. Good luck. Sorry about your dog.
They saved mine. My cat had a urinary blockage that could of killed him. They saved his life
Im not sure. However you have to call them and make an appointment. Good luck.
Thanks guys I made an appointment to take him on Monday
Cost I do not know, but I will say they have a very cooperative financial department and are as empathic as they are able to be but there are a lot of policies in place as well. Personally, I love them and have found them to be most reasonable compared to the other options in NYC.
Contact the ASPCA they will handle any problems with your pets! There are located at 424E92 Street in Manhattan!
Usually they charge $40 for consultation. You need to have an appointment. Also you can call at 7am and request and emergency appointment. The little I know your dog could have a serious condition and they need to do a lot of test that also cost $$$$. They are affordable.
You'll have to take the dog to Bergh Memorial and have him examined. They'll work with you if you show proof of low income, and their financial people will talk to you. Typically, they're understanding and what's most important, the staff want to help your animal!
I bring mi cats over there and if i can't paid all the money and they acept part of the amount. If you are welfare resipient it will help.
Go to the asp tell them that's all you get they will help you they help me you have to call first no walking in appointment
The visit is 45$, but if your cat is in pain (I'm sure he is but they hide it well) just take him very, very early. They only take appointments now so you'll call from downstairs, with the security helping you. Get there before 8:00 am and more than likely your cat will be seen and patched up even if you don't have all of the 45$.
You would have to call ASPCA to find out
Yes. They are very busy, so unless it's an emergency, best to make an appointment.
I think so they did some test to my cats but i don't remember which one. I don't know why they hang up to you. When i call they always answer. Keeping trying. They arr really good
Call the aspce at 8 am and tell them what happened and most likely they will work something out with you
Yes they care for all domesticated animals and you will have to call for the first appointment and it's a mandatory $45
Yes,2 dogs and 4 cats
Do you Neuter cats
Frankie Deas yes. I took my kitten there for a checkup and the lady gave me a recommendation for him to be neutered when I bring him back to be neutered they also allowed him to get his nails trimmed not clipped trimmed and to get a chip with vaccinations
If he's an emergency and you can prove financial need (EBT card, award letter from SSD/SSI, proof of subsidy, e.g. NYCHA or Section 8) they'll work with you. The visit is 45$ which is the basic exam. Imo most affordable veterinary ER in nyc.
You have to make appointments now. Call them and ask. If you need financial help bring your HRA/Food stamp letter and/or proof of financial situation with you. They will help you with the bill. Last cpl times i took my dog it was free, but i had my HRA Benefit letter w me showing what financial help i get. Sometimes on the phonr they say they wont help w costs, but they do if ypu bring your ppwk w you proving hardship. Also bring all pet medical records & vaccine ppwk too.
Thats very nice of you! Call the aspca tomorrow and i'm sure they can help you. Unfortunately, since i don't work there, I can't give you more information.
It's about 180 the most but if you explain to them your situation they are pretty sympathetic and will help you out if necessary but it's not as expensive as other private shelters
Yes they will help
U need to bring proof of income and if you make less than $45,000 a year you only pay $45.00 for the visit.
Take her to aspca hospital if you recieve any type of government assistance bring proof like an ebt card, ssi award letter l, medicaid card and then they will tell you the bill you ask for financial assistance and then they will ask you how much you can afford to pay
They do have payment plans but I don't know about amputation
We at this time only treat cats and dogs
I would strongly suggest calling in for an appt as they will be able to assess the situation. My dog had an internal issue and they did surgery there. Another friend had a separate issue and they were referred out to a different doctor. It depends on the situation
Depending on their funding they usually will cover it
Yes on 420 E. 92 street can assist your care for your cat and on 112 there animal shelter that helps with emergency care for pets i hope your pet pulls through
I believe they only do cats and dogs for emergency purposes
By appointent.
Yes
Depends but they work with you
You should take them to the aspca early in the morning. Also is the momma cat trying to feed her kittens.
Give them a call I'm not sure, good luck
All you do is go and say ur financial status Any pay stubs will work if you have food stamp just show that and it’s free depending what he needs but they do give you a lot of help good luck
Just left ASPCA very disappointed many changes. No more emergency walk ins. No more help with low income people who are on disability. Ended up in the animal hospital on 510 E 62 st. They do at least a monthly payment plan for people on disability. Very happy with the out come
They tell you your bill. And you can give then what you can. My dog had a bill close to 1200 dollars and I gave them 100 dollars and they waived the bill
They told me to drop off my pet at 7am for dental. Is it open at that time?
Hi Gleiris I can help you to get your cat fix for free will be done at the Aspca free vaccines Males cats when they not fix urine smells bad very strong odor, one the get fix smells will be gone and few days, you should haven check for parasites because of the wait he is eating and he is skinny but sometimes is normal b normal
No not at aspca
Depends on what you're looking for and your fanacial status. Usually they have "low cost" service charges... Pretty much the same you would pay at another vet.
Yeah. A plenty of.
They only have xray
They don't take medicaid but they have a program called financial hardship. If you have trouble paying a fee they will help. I had to get my dog operated and i could not come up with the money due to financial hardship. They paid it and all i did was give a $25.00 donation. I am so glad for places like ASPCA.
Depends on what kind of shots and income amount, the proven less income you make the cheaper the shots
Yes, expect to be there almost all day, sitting in a full waiting room. Medicaid doesnt cover anything, but they do have financial aid/sliding scale. They saw my dog free 2x now because I'm on public assistance. Be prepared to bring income proof/benefit letter. Honestly this clinic is great for emergencies (bites/cuts/breaks), but NOT the place if your pet has ANY chronic illness's do NOT expect ANY help or tests for those problems. I am quite disappointed in the policies of the ASPCA Clinic. Its like they want you to adopt, adopt, and spay/nueter but if the animal gets sick you're on your own.
We have passed Rocky (my dog) to a friend who kept him for 6 years, the friend moved to a non pet friendly place. So we took the dog back but I have a cat already. My son took the dog but they are not getting along with the two dogs he already has.
Try the ASPCA hospital
ASPCA can help.. especially if you have Medicare they will definitely help you with low cost or free vet care
