There is no entrance fee for the Rockefeller Center itself, but there is one for the Top of the Rock. For children (6-12) it is 28$, adults 34$, seniors (62+) 32$. You'll get a discount with the NY-pass. Book the tickets in advance so you will for sure get up there.

Wow! There so many and they are different. Top of the Rock is excellent as it is unobstructed. It is closer to Central Park. Empire State is legendary. It is many floors higher, so the vantage points are breathtaking. I did get make to the Freedom Tower. We made it to the Edge at Hudson Yards, but it was so windy during our visit, so it was closed. Free games please purchase the City Pass. It is a ticket to 5 of 7 NYC attractions, including the Top of the Rock, The Empire State, 9/11 memorial memorial museum at One World Trade, Statue of Liberty, Guggenheim Museum, Museum of Natural History, and the Intrepid Air Space, and Sea museum. It is like 125 per, but we'll worth it.

Rock Center head gardener Erik Pauze first spotted the tree five years ago, he told the Wall Street Journal, and when he came to see it this spring, he said, "Yup, this is the year to take the tree... It's looking perfect." Today, November 8, the 75-year-old evergreen will leave Figueroa and Gutierrez's home and hit the road for New York City.

Rockefeller Center is the home to a lot of famous places. Magnolia Bakery, NBC Studios, and Top of the Rock to name a few. I would suggest trying to get tickets for one of the tapings while you're there if you can. I went to the Tonight Show this past week and it was such a fun experience. I also suggest doing the Top of the Rock. It's better than the Empire State Building, tour in my opinion. The sunrise sunset package is really a great deal. The architecture inside and out alone is worth going to Rockefeller Center.

If coming from Newark airport take the AirTrain to the train station. Once there, take NJ Transit to Manhattan, New York Penn Station. Penn Station is at 34th Street. Make your way underground to the train - #1 Uptown trains to 50th Street. There are two stops to 50th Street. You will be at Broadway and 50th Street. Walk East 3 blocks to Rockefeller Center.
You will pass 7th Avenue, 6th Avenue (which is Avenue of the Americas) and right before 5th Avenue you will see Rockefeller Center.
If not coming from the Newark Airport just find your way to NJ Transit and follow other steps.

I will go to NY City in Feb.
If the weather not really well and snowing, it’s ok for going to top?

They will tell you if visibility is poor. If so, I suggest skipping the observation deck. You can still go and walk around and take photos.

Absolutely necessary? No. However, it's become an American tradition that countless individuals and families enjoy each year, sharing that joy and excitement with each new generation. The awe and holiday spirit that not only the tree, but the entire Rockefeller Center elicit have the ability to remind New Yorkers, American citizens, and tourists the world over, that the holidays are a time of giving and of loving each other. There are certain traditions in American culture that bring its citizens together year after year, and the Rockefeller tree is one of them. Also, each year the tree is normally donated by a family who give the tree to NYC from thier private property. And as an aside, the tourism, and therefore revenue, that it brings to the city certainly helps to fund countless programs and projects throughtout the city.

If I take a tour of the Ellis Island. What is the best way to get from there to Rockefeller? And how long does it take? Where is the best area to stay if we are taking the Jersey Transit back to Jersey in the early morning?

Patricia Joseph | Sep 27, 2018
You can take the #1 train at South Ferry to 50th Street and walk 1 long block east to Rockefeller Center. It's across the street from Radio City Music Hall. You can't miss the NBC signs on the bldg.
If you are taking The New Jersey Transit early the next morning, I would suggest staying at Hotel Pennsylvania, which is right opposite Penn Station at 7th Avenue and I believe 32nd St. Macy's Herald Square is just up the street from that hotel. You can check other hotels in that area to compare prices and comfort. Hope that was helpful.
Enjoy your trip.
