Great little park, just wish there were a handful more rides. With the fast pass you can literally ride every ride multiple times. Entered the park at 10am and left at 4pm. It has some amazing rides just not a ton. Very easy to walk the entire park multiple times. They make great use of the space and the design is perfect to reach all of the rides quickly. Their food options are better than any park we have ever been to and we have been to every Florida park and Virginia park. Definitely worth the price of admission. Tip #1: if you’re arriving early (20-30 min before opening)even on a Saturday don’t bother paying for the VIP parking. There is a chic fil a here too. Need more signage for VIP parking and for exits. Three more big rides would make this park a 5 Star rating.

It houses the oldest wooden rollercoaster in the USA. Lots of fun. We went with our entire family. Lines move pretty fast. They have lots of safety procedures in place to keep everyone safe. Food was pretty good too. I recommend the gold pass ( seasonal pass) with meal plan. It was well worth it. We went during carnival. The floats and music were great! It was a huge dance party by the end of the night. The even ended with fireworks.
I can not wait to go back!

I am posting this as a mom of teenagers that like walk around by themselves.
I appreciate the many different areas the park has. I enjoy walking around and seeing all the different plants, artwork, exhibits and landscaping. Whoever takes care of the plants does a wonderful job! And the variety of the various exhibits/artwork is beautiful.
There is lots of seating around the park, plenty with shade. Even some rocking chairs scattered around throughout.
All of the gift shops have a variety of items, they aren't all the same thing. Makes for an enjoyable experience walking around and seeing a new store to browse through.
I do wish that in their app, they would clarify what restaurants/rides are closed. Two restaurants that I tried to go to were closed, although the app and Google Maps showed them as open. And a few rides that I'm excited to try have been closed each time I've visited.
All in all, a nice experience, even if you are just at the park for your kids to ride the rides.

Definitely worth the $50. This park is huge! Lots has been added since I was a kid. This is easily a 2 day park. My teens really enjoyed themselves and was happy about the reasonable wait times for rides. Lots of trees for shade throughout the park. This was a good choice.. highly recommend!
The goldpass will allow you into the park and into scarewinds but their are some paid haunted attractions but most are free plus 3/4 of the rides are open.
So all the other people were wrong, if there is rain none of the rides close but if tempatures are under 40 degrees no rides over 150 feet tall are open, if it begins to thunder and lightning in the area carowinds closes and opens again the next day
If you get it online its $48 and $16 for parking if you wait til you get to the gate its $69 and $20 for parking but the gold season pass is $120 so if you plan to go more than once it's better to get the season pass.
There is a whole section of the park called Planet Snoopy and is themed Charlie Brown there are plenty of rides in there and will entertain kids easily but, most rides in that section have height limits as well as restrictions
This isn't a question but I'm going to pretend like you asked the question "Is it fun and exciting?". The answer depends on what you like. Do you like roller coasters? Do you like places where they have a variety of roller coasters to ride on? Then yes it is enjoyable and exciting, especially since they have some really tall and fast rides.
Looks like everyone has already covered it. I agree with minimum; however, I will tell you they have lockers at the water park. In park you need closed toe shoes, shirts and pants. In water park, just a towel, bathingsuit and I recommend some flip flops (something to protect your feet but easy to get on and off. Plus something you can leave exposed to public).
Yes, in fact. All riders (including season pass holders) require a reservation with every visit. Otherwise, you will not be let into the park. To confirm this, you can visit their website and go to the FAQ section.
You can buy the ticket at the door either with a credit, debit or cash card, or you can buy online directly on the website. If you buy the season park membership, it includes the parking lot and you can visit as many times as you want.
You have to contact them trough there website. Give your information and reasoning and they usually get back to you within 2 business days. Let them no the urgency and way to contact you. But they do allow you to switch ticket days, or they did in the past I've done it for family that came in town.
If you back up your photos to Google Drive, they should be in Google Photos. They might've been backed up by the phone manufacturer depending on the manufacturer, like Samsung.
After you pay for your ticket you can go on all the rides as many times as you want, if you use the carowinds app itll show you deals for the day you go as well as a map of the park and ride wait times. Food is pretty expensive there and really worth the money, except chickie n Pete's is good and they have a chick fa la.
Gold pass season tickets does not include fast pass. They are separate season passes, which you can purchas either online or at guest services.. Another options is to purchase fast pass tickets on the day of your visit, which is good for that days visit. Hope this information helped. Either way hold on and have fun!!!!!
Once your in if you want to go out, let them know before going out! They have arm bands or something like that.. Then you can go out! People bring coolers and food in their cars and go out and picnic in the parking lot! I'm not sure what regular price is, My son and I went on Memorial Day❣It was more expensive! They give senior citizens and Military discounts❣ Members of the SECU Credit union can get discount tickets from there❣
Can't find it at the moment, but I know it's $15 or $20. Gold season pass is free parking so if you're planning on visiting more than once or twice it will be cheaper to get the season pass.
10am to 10pm, the water park does not close at 7pm it closes at 4pm during the week, then it will close at 6pm on weekends, then in July it will close at 7pm on weekends & 6pm during the week. Just look on there website.
Do seniors get in free or what discounts do you have for them
Linda Merritt | Jan 21, 2020
Mandi Smith | Jan 22, 2020
Per their website : Adults age 62 and older can share in all of the fun by purchasing a senior’s tickets for only $19.99!
Must be accompanied with valid ID. Valid any one day the park is open to the public through December 31, 2019.
How much is the express lanes?
Christy May | Jan 21, 2020
Luckyskush | Jan 22, 2020
For $70 per person you can cut the lines (there is a $55 option, but it doesn't include Fury 325, The Intimidator or Nighthawk). Coupled with the price of park admission, you're looking at $129.99. Worth it in my opinion if not you will stand in long lines all day long. Plus there is something that feels so good just passing other people.
The only number I know would be listed in the website. You'd think they would return your call. Bad practice not to. You could also show up in person if you live close enough.
I wouldn't bother. if you get there early enough, you can park close enough that it's not a problem. Regular parking there is a rip-off; I certainly wouldn't pay another $10 for so-called VIP parking.
So if a kid is 2 almost 3 will he go for free?, Do people have to purchase a ticket or they check in at the gate?
June 4th was the last day to apply for the Pre-K free pass guys, in case someone else asks thanks for ghe answers
Yes, when you buy a pass to the park you get into the water park for free, basically when you buy admission you have access to both parks you still have to pay for food, drinks, souvenirs, etc.
I would like to renew last year's season pass. Is there a discount on the renewal of my gold pass
Anna Kupka | Jan 21, 2019
Shannon Anglin | Jan 22, 2019
I see that it guarantees you the lowest prices when you renew but I'm not sure how much of a discount that would be. I would definitely call ahead and ask
You have to go on the Carowinds website & register your children under 5 for the PreK Pass. Once you've registered them you'll get a confirmation email that you'll need to take with you to Carowinds along with each child's birth certificate to prove their age. Once the email & birth certificates are verified they'll take a pic of the kid(s) & print them a PreK Pass Card to use for each visit to the park.
Im not sure the exact cost but Scarowinds is a different event than regular admission. But if you buy a large drink from Burger King you can get $10 off gate admission. Probably cheaper to buy online though.
Carowinds is open Saturdays and Sundays from 10am - 5pm and then Scarowinds is open Friday thru Sunday Night 7pm until Midnight, Saturdays on the 21st and 28th Scarowinds will be open from 7pm to 1am. Winterfest starts Nov. 24th 5pm to 10pm Fridays thru Sundays and the Week of the 17th thru 23rd of Dec. then closed for Christmas Eve and Christmas reopen on the 26th thru 30th from 5pm to 10pm.
The park is now only open weekends. The water park closes Sept. 10. Scarowinds starts Sept. 15 and runs until Sunday Oct. 29. They are doing Winter fest nov. 24- 28.
Absolutely each ride is in the app as long as your heart is in good condition and your not pregnant and your accompanied by an adult you can ride but just to double check I would check their website
I think they maybe different in price for children and adults. I believe that the children are separate and or considered adults once they reach a certain age
I had the same experience when trying to call them before our reservation date never got ahold of them also once arrived at carowinds the line to speak to someone is also like waiting in line for one of the costers, from what I observed they are only letting 1-2 people inside at a time for customer service.
The website says 50$ for electric with 10$ deposit. And I believe the manual is 20 or 30$. The electric ones look like they have decent power especially for the ups and downs throughout the pathways in the park.
What would I have to do if I wanted to come with a group but I wanted to do the water park and then you sweetheart and what would the price be for that
no, if it's grayed put you can't go that day. fast passes may be available for the people that already have reservations but with out a reservation you can't get in
Each pass is for one person. Children 3-5 years old can get a free pre-k pass. Under 3 is free. Above 5 everyone needs their own pass or ticket. As for parking one pass per car is needed.
No I don't think they will reopen until the spring
when will you re open

Carowinds tickets typically cost $67 at the gate, but buying in advance slashes $11 to $18 off the standard gate price depending on the day of the week. Weekday admission is $48 online, while weekend tickets cost between $52 and $56.

I dont believe they have a definite date on it yet. They are probably going to go like the rest of the businesses and just play it by ear
Yes they have rides n water parks for all ages. Kids love it. The dinosaur alive is cool but a little small but it was really cool. The dinosaurs look very life like.
No they did not, we went just last Sunday and it was pouring hard but all the rides were open. But rain really hurts on the face...but it was fun to be on the rides in the rain.
Yes, rides are still ongoing. It's pretty much the same just themed out for Halloween and they have live people dressed in costumes there to scare you. Plus Haunted rides and houses! Me and my kids love it!
No, however when you go to buy a pass online it gives you the pros and cons of the pass. Basically everything you can do and can't with that specific pass.
$107+tax (Easy 3 installment are also available) .Currently special season pass(2019 -2020 end)sale is going on.
If you have any of your friend having season pass then get daily pass with their id and do upgrade on the day for $60+ tax to save some dollars
My sister and I were talking about going to Scarowinds at some point. My sister said we can not wear masks, but I was wondering if we would be allowed to cosplay or dress up as characters as long as our faces were showing?
Kristen Chason | Jan 21, 2020
Aaron Young | Jan 22, 2020
As long as face is not covered to hide you identity, should be okay.
It's the same prices everyday. It's less after 4pm. Bring a friend prices change from day to day. They have day prices, evening prices on the website and bring a friend prices are all listed for each open day on the calendar. Evening tickets are the best value and lines for the rides are shorter. They are about 45 dollars. Prices do not include parking. Unless it changed, parking should be 20 dollars. Online prices should be less.
I do not actually know i started going to carowind in the early 2000s so i can not properly answer that question but carowinds music us good and you can really feel the good vibes and at the place near chick fill a i really love there music if you like country you will love it to
No ma'am! They do have their own set up for extreme heat. Yesterday they passed out free water. That was cool because everybody can't afford those drinks or meals
I have season passes, but when I have gone and bought daily tickets I always checked Groupon or did a Google search for coupon codes. You can often save money and time and avoid the ticket line by ordering online at Carowinds.com. There is a place to enter coupon codes on the order form. Also, if you want to wait until after 4PM, the rates are lower and you still have 6 hours before the park closes. If you are planning on going more than twice, season passes are well worth it!
Usually $49 for adults & $45 for kids. But you can always find deals. Less than 2 weeks ago I saw $20 off coupons at Bojangles, not sure if they're still doing it but worth a check
With the Gold Pass you have unlimited parking. Which means you don't have to pay. When purchasing the Gold Pass, you can choose to add a drink cup with unlimited refills, or a plastic/foam cup with a refill every 15 minutes. You can bring up to 6 friends per day ranging from $20-$45 according to which day it is. Also get a 10% discount at various places inside the park. You can check out carrowinds.com to check dates
I completely disagree. I think it is a no-brainer to buy the fast lane plus.it's saved as many hours of waiting time even with the park not being very full.we went as a family with some persons not riding the roller coasters and this really allowed us to move through the park quickly and together as a family because we went straight to the front of the line every single time. So I suggest to skip a couple of meals out, use that money for the pass and enjoy the park without standing in lines being hot and sweaty all day long. Please see my review for a full explanation of why the pass is such a good deal
Karissa “The Portal Maker” McKenzie | Jan 22, 2020
Chick-fil-A gives you your meal in a bag, so for sure you can take that home if you want.
Also there's a Starbucks with food and drinks you can take with you. You can buy fudge to take home as well.
Probably not, as different days have different admission costs. Call the park just to confirm though. You may be able to use it on a different day that has the same price. Hope this helps
Fast Pass Plus allows you to take a faster, shorter route of a line, making waait a time less. Inclusive includes Single Day Admission, Parking, All Day Dining, Fast Lane Plus, a Regular Souvenir Bottle and a Single Day FunPix Photo Pass.
Why is the South Gate entrance always closed? Parents who need to park near the Camp Snoopy section are inconvenienced when having to park by the main entrance. Please explain when the South Gate is actually open.
Water is definitely free. We went out to a restaurant with all intentions of going back till 10 pm and got too full and went home instead. If you leave the park, eat lite. Lol
Its 57.00 for one adult and 45 for child if you buy online. and then 20 to park. But if you go into a subway then u can get a cheaper ticket. I'm not sure that price just know its cheaper.also you can buy them at harris teeter in the gift card section and it is cheaper there too.

was there yesterday and was shocked! Is there no dress code? Kids don’t need to see allllllllllll that! Disgusting! Some of the staff was actually telling people put their shirts on and of course rules don’t apply to some people. More security!!

I think because of the waterpark being open, people feel that it's okay to just walk around half naked! There's just so many people around it's hard to catch them all :(
yes can bring up to 2 dogs or cats the kennel is completely free no shots or records are required as they dont handle the anaimals you put the pet in the kennel and you take the pet out of the kennel, they will put bowl water in the kennel
juniors are considered anyone under 12 years old or under 48". If you order online all tickets are $45.00. $57.00 with tax and processing fee or $69.99 @ the gate.
Tickets normally run about $50. Unless you are a member of the state credit union. Then you can get discount prices or if you know someone who is a member. But it covers entrance to both the theme park and water park. Rides are free if you can handle the wait times. Normally during the week though the lines are not as long
How much does it cost to add an annual Fast Lane Plus to your season pass? Also, is it true that you c an get a free fast lane pass for a day if you call, that is if you have a pass, correct?
Thotiana Grande | Jan 21, 2020
Beate Wickham | Jan 22, 2020
I dont think you get an annual fastlane pass, but I could be wrong.
I never heard you can call in for a fast pass, sorry. But on a busy day it is the best to get a fast pass.

Is the waterpark included in the ticket that you get for carowinds. Also, is there a discount for large groups? Particularly students?
Mochi Man | Jan 21, 2020
Ashley Ratcliff | Jan 22, 2020
The water park was shut down when we went for"maintenance" but it is included in the price for the tickets. We were able to get a big discount online for a group and picked up the tickets at the gate. It was still alot of fun even without the water park. There was plenty to do in a day.
Ticket prices vary. From open to 3pm it's one price after 4pm lower, age wise 60+ discount and then you discounts for military, travel club, etc. But to be honest check website
As I read online, it states; "everyone can get into the park for a kid's price of $24.00.until June 24th." Is this correct?
SISTER GRAHAM | Jan 21, 2020
Keri Wilson | Jan 22, 2020
No its save $24.... the kids tickets r $45 each if purchased online but up through June 23rd everyone gets in for the kids price. It's on their actual website
The cost for one day general admission ticket is $69 at the gate but if you get the ticket online you can get it for a child's price of $45. It will be an additional 20.00 for parking
If it's fannypack size and you can slide it up under your shirt far enough to not interfere with lapbars, they typically don't care. The lockers are outrageous for the times provided.

No they aren't open until Friday March 29 2019. And if its like last year the 29th is for gold pass members only then the park opens to everyone on the 30th.
I'm not sure I would call the information hotline or their website should have that information
Is this place open year round
Robert Reaves | Jan 21, 2019
George “Papa” | Jan 22, 2019
No, they are seasonal. They start in early spring weekends only and go 7 days a week late spring until Sept then weekends only thru Nov 1 and the Winter fest nov- Dec 31st select dates. See their website for times and dates
Yes it closes if it rains hard enough that they think not enough people will show up to make it worth their while and for safety reasons. Drizzle or scattered showers are not usually enough. Sometimes they will close the park early or rides will be closed because of weather. You just have to take your chances. For heavy rain that gives them enough notice, they will post the park closing early in the day. But they have closed the park as we were driving up to the gate. (we have been season park holders for years)
That's not true, rides are open. Their app lists the latest updates and the map on the website states what is normally open. The only coaster open after Scarowinds ends is Afterburn. All the rest of the rides are the state fair type rides like richocet (a wild mouse ride) , Rock N Roller (a himalaya ride), zephyr, electro spin, do so do, scrambler, and at least 11 kiddie rides. Christmas is more about the live entertainment, lights, and food.
