Michelle Diekmann
Alise was so great! Quick, thorough and so kind! She made a great experience for me.
Robert Dimaio (Bobby D)
very outdated. I'm originally from Tampa Florida and it's so much smoother and up to date.
katy elliott
The ladies there were wonderful! One lady who was checking documents and directing them to the correct line was so nice! Thank you so much for your help.

Please see list here: https://dor.mo.gov/motorv/titling.php
Just knowing number is fine. Make sure you have your Birth Certificate or passport, proof of address and test sheet. Hope this helps!
I believe the first box is called assignment you have to fill out all the information for the seller
No, you do not. I simply walked up and got in line.
You have to do it online..... I don't think all DMVs have just a general website. I'm not 100% on that. But I've seen it on there door I do not have picture of it... You might try calling them.
No, not that I'm aware of.
We can look up your personal property taxes usually, but yes we can accept your tax receipts from your phone. Also at the moment we usually don't have anyone stationed at the desk.
Yes although they run as credit
You can renew and title vehicles anywhere in the state.
yes
Nope. I would make one if you can. You get to skip the line.
At lee summit dmv
You need to fill out a form and then have a doctor sign it
Year
I always cut them up into pieces or you can transfer them to another car
All of Missouri DMV's allow you to renew prior to the expiration.
Current passport or birth certificate. If you are married and name changed from birth...need court documents showing name change. Social security card or w2, etc which has you number and name on it. 2 items that prove current mailing address. Voter ID, insurance, medical, w2, utility bills. Can not be more than 90 days old.
No, put will reduce wait times
No, just renew. Only if you allow it to expire past 6 months to a year will you have to retake it...at least it's something like that. Either way, I think you're good just to renew without testing.
Proof of Identity; Proof of Social Security number; and Proof of Missouri residential address. NOTE: Renewal applicants requesting a REAL ID-compliant document must submit two acceptable documents as proof of Missouri residency and state of domicile. Applicants with a current Missouri driver license, nondriver license or permit record with a previously verified Social Security Number on file, may be eligible to provide their number verbally to complete the required electronic verification inquiry to the Social Security Administration.
I don't believe you have to. But I would check with the Social Security office come Monday. Just to be sure
They say making an appointment is better but, it wasn't necessarily so. It seems like the line barely moves any day of the week.
Title and bill of sale. If you owe personal property tax on the car you can still sell it.... That could come back to haunt you though. Try calling the assessors office in the county you live in and ask them. You can't do it at the DMV.
If it's not a gross misspelling then I wouldn't worry about it. A typo isn't going to prevent that individual from getting the title transferred to him or her. If it bothers you enough to get it fixed, you'll need to go back to the DMV office and stand in line.
You don't NEED an appointment to license, in fact, I am not aware appointments are available. I always known the LSLB to be on a first come first served basis. In the past two years, the folks at LSLB have streamlined their system, have become very efficient and VERY customer-centric. This past first of July, I had to year tag a vehicle. My experience told me to be there EARLY. I was #3 in line at 6 A.M. for the 8 A.M. opening. Just after 7 A.M. workers started coming in to the office. At 7:42 A.M., lady opens the door and announces "We're all ready, what say we start a little early." I was done, out and on my way to Starbucks at 7:50 A.M. Appointment? Sure, if they'll do it. Appointment Needed? Naw, just be smart about going in.
No you have to go to city hall to pay those, learned the hard way.
No
Yes
Look online at mo dmv...
Better call them and make an appointment.
Senior citizen time is from 8-9 am only
That is done at the State Troopers office at Colburn and Tutor. Not at the DMV office.
You can go to their fb page to find the link to make a appointment https://www.facebook.com/leessummitlicense/
You just have to make another appointment on their website. Or go up and wait in line.
Unfortunately,I don't have an answer.
I believe all DMVs are but tied in as a Independent/third party contractor.
I did a walk in to register my vehicle, only waited 5 minutes!
Yes
With those items and proof of auto insurance, it will be a breeze! Just make sure you take all of that paperwork in with you.
The standard grace period to renew a Missouri driver license (without having to retest) is 6-months after the expiration date on the license.
You don't need an appt but your wait would be much less if you had one..
Hours
License it in the other state or bring it to Missouri for inspection.
Sorry to say yes if you gonna get a new car
The only grace period i knew of was because of coved19. And thats over..
They can print a driving record at the drivers license office. I got mine from there back in January 2020.
I don't live in Lee summit was visiting that day
Should be whatever the actual price your paying is after all trade and sales pricing .. Missouri vehicle tax is 4.225 percent
Personal property tax receipt for 2019 . insurance card . and inspection if vehicle is over 10 years
I got there at 730. At 745 a lady came out and had the senior people line up. Renewals in one line and registration in another. I was out of there by 805
If you get in line before they open.
https://leessummitlicenseoffice.as.me/schedule.php
No but you can at this address. 220 SE Green St, Lee's Summit, MO 64063 Only a mile or so away
The months on the plate, top corner the sticker is the year it expires
Proof of identy, proof of ssn, proof of residence such as utility bill or pptax bill.
Facebook page DMV allows for appointments.
Go down and make appointment with them
It is so busy I would just go in person and go up to the check in desk and make an appointment. They have all times. I have went for both of my vehicles i made one appt for after work at 5pm and the other first thing am based off my work schedule. Lady at checkin desk is very knowledgeable and friendly even though some of the patrons she had to deal with were not
Yes they do from 8:00 am - 9:00 am.
Facebook, Lee's Summit license office. You can make appt there. Seniors can go the first hour they are open for priority service.
No, you have six months from expiration date to renew without having to retest. Just verified this by phone with the LS, MO DMV.
Title, proof of residence, and proof of insurance. You also need an ODID also known as a vehicle ID with an out of state title.
You have to go stand in line to put your name on a list and then they will call your name when it's your turn. They will call your cell number and let you know it's your turn to get in line.
I have been at the Lee's Summit branch last Friday and again Monday this week. They have a line for Motor Vehicle related matters and a separate one for Driver's License related matters. These lines are outside the building to the left and right of the entrance. I went there Friday around noon, stood in line to place my name on the list. You're not expected to stand in line afterwards because they call you back on your mobile when they have room to attend to you. They called me back around 4:30pm that day and was attended to pretty quickly. Had to go back there Monday with an additional document and same procedure applied. This time I was called back around 3:45pm and was attended to immediately. Total transaction time was 10 mins. Bottom line, get there early, place name on list, wait for their call back. You can also mention you're coming from Illinois just so that they know you will have to be attended to same day, no question.
If you have the renewal card they mailed you (probably to your old address), and you aren't over thirty days past your expiration date you can renew online.
Three year is $10, six year is $20. Non driver state id is $11.
To get a Missouri Real-Id your son just has to go to any DMV with the correct documents! Keep in mind the REAL-ID is only for DOMESTIC flights. Your son will need: A birth certificate or passport A Social security card(or w2) Two forms of address verification.(like a bill or bank statement).
What do you need for a disabled placard?
Yes, though there is a small fee for using them. If i recall correctly its around 3%.
We are closed the 24th and 25th
Yes
Yes. Bring a birth certificate or passport, a social security card, and proof of address.
No sales tax, but of course next year there will be property taxes. Do expect a 14.50 title fee and the cost of registration.
Yes
Yes there's is a notary
Present the following at the DMV: - Certificate of title - Signed application for Missouri title and license - Safety inspection - Current insurance card - Roughly 7% of purchase price for sales tax FYI: it's sometimes cheaper to get a new plate instead of transferring an old one. Something to keep in mind. For more information, please go here: https://dor.mo.gov/motorv/buying.php
You will have to go to a MO DMV office and apply for a duplicate/replacement license. You will have to bring proof of identity and residency. Please see below websites for exact information. https://dor.mo.gov/drivers/license.php#replace https://dor.mo.gov/faq/drivers/general.php#q21 https://dor.mo.gov/drivers/idrequirements.php
Real ID comes into effect Oct.1.2019
Though the REAL ID is available now, you aren't required to have one until October 1st, 2020. Well officially anyway, some places will still turn you away without one.
The inspection, proof of insurance, the title signed by all owners exactly as their name is printed on the front along with the price, date of purchase, and signature of all buyers. TOD info if applicable. Also either a tax receipt or exemption, which you can get there, before going through the registration counter. You may or may not be required to show proof of residency, best to be prepared. I think that's everything.
He should be able to get residence non driver license. I have one.
Owner of vechile should go for notary purpose, bring plates for mutilated replacement. Tell clerk if stolen
Yes
Anytime really our lines are sometime short and have a good working staff
Yes I believe it is $20.
No
You need the title and it's always a good idea to get a bill of sale.(Try to get an official bill of sale instead of using notebook paper, that can be found on the DOR website) In some states the title has be notarized when being assigned to a new owner so check for that as well. Otherwise pay close attention to where each party is signing on the title making sure it's in the correct spots.
Yes, 8 am to noon
Yes, you can. As someone else said, up to six months early. Note however that if you're twenty, and renew early, they won't remove the minor tag from the new license.
Walk in only.
This isnt the testing location.
Call the dmv
Just go to the DMV and tell him you want to file for a lost title and they'll charge you $11
You won't go here to take your test. Not sure about temp tags. You can call the testing location you plan on going to and ask. Here is a list of Missouri testing locations: https://www.mshp.dps.missouri.gov/HP32DES/DESTable.jsp
2.00 dollars
1 ton truck which usual is considered commercial have only 1 plate in front
They are busy at times, however I have never waited more than 25 minutes. Very good service!
A statement from your Physician.Sighned and dated.
I believe you have to city hall.
It depends on your age, what class of license you need, and how many years until it expires. It looks like it can be anywhere from $10 to $45. For more information: https://dor.mo.gov/drivers/license.php#fees
Yes you can but there is a service fee. The fee depends on the total cost of the transaction ranging from $1.25 to 2.15%
According to their website, it looks like you'll need certificate of title, application for Missouri title and license form #108, proof that personal property tax has been paid or a statement of non-assessment, a safety inspection, insurance card. Please see these for more information: https://dor.mo.gov/motorv/buying.php https://dor.mo.gov/motorv/titling.php
You have to provide documentation for proof of name, date of birth, place of birth, social security number, and address. For more information: https://dor.mo.gov/drivers/idrequirements.php If you have a driver's license from another state, you can probably skip the written and driving test. For more information: https://dor.mo.gov/faq/drivers/general.php
Well...thats kind of difficult to answer as Im unsure of the exact circumstances. You have to physically come in to the office, and we issue a paper temporary copy the same day. The hard copy is then mailed to you between two weeks and one month.
Keep in mind this isnt a testing center, but if he's already passed the test our hours are M-F 8-6, Sat 8-12. Walk ins only, no appointments.
Proof of address, he has to know his social security number, and he will also need a birth certificate.
Strictly speaking just a title, but a bill of sale is always a good idea. The car must be free of all liens, and if the lien is listed on the title even if its paid off you'll need your notorized lien release.
Yes, be sure to bring valid identification and there is also a fee.
From: https://www.dmv.org/mo-missouri/buy-sell/auto-loans/removing-a-lien.php - Your current title (if in your possession). - Payment for the $11 fee. EITHER: - The Notice of Lien, Lien Release, or Authorization to Add/Remove Name from Title (Form DOR-4809), sent to you by your lienholder. OR - A notarized statement on your lienholder's letterhead stating that the lien is released.
They have for me before. As long as nothing has changed, yes.
Valid insurance, a safety inspection, and some type of ownership document like the title assigned to you or a valid bill of sale. Also note that if thirty days has passed since the vehicle was purchased, or if youve had temp tags on the same vehicle before, a temp tag will not be issued.
You should probably call and ask, but looks like its the same process for lost vehicle title: https://dor.mo.gov/motorv/titlerep.php
Six months.
At the time of this question being answered the state of Missouri has not converted to the "Real ID". So as of yet, you do not.
Yes
Usually, they need proof of name, date of birth, place of birth, social security number, and proof of residency. He might be exempt from some. Please see needed documents on the MO DOR website here for nondriver license for voting: https://dor.mo.gov/faq/drivers/nondriver_license.php And driver's license here: https://dor.mo.gov/drivers/idrequirements.php I tried copying it here, but it is too long for me to copy and post here.
Yes, but only of you have the postcard that is sent in the mail as it holds a pin required to do so that is unique to you.
Weight of truck plate is a factor. Bl 6 ,12,18+ect
Both, you must send in the fee listed on the application, and there is an additional fee upon pick up. Keep in mind there will be a personalized plate fee each time you renew as well.
Usually, they need proof of name, date of birth, place of birth, social security number, and proof of residency. I'd also bring in the expired license. If it's 6 months past expiration, I think you will have to take the written and driving tests again, so don't wait too long. Please see needed documents on the MO DOR website here for driver's license here: https://dor.mo.gov/drivers/idrequirements.php I tried copying it here, but it is too long for me to copy and post here.
If you mean an insurance card from an app, thats fine.
Also motor registration.
Stolen tabs $3.50. Owner needs to have notorized .
I think if it is more than 6 months expired then you'll have to retake the test. At least it's that way with driver's licenses.
Yes.
No appointments , and they are taken at 1950 Independence ave lees summit Mon-friday
