Months ago, it was in the news the current Mo. drivers license would soon not qualify as an airport ID to board a flight without changes to be made. What is the current status of that, haven't seen anything about it of late.

If you have a US passport, it will work in place of the driver's license. https://dor.mo.gov/drivers/real-id-information/

That is correct. Not sure of the date, but the current license doesn't qualify. You can get a Mo license that qualifies. You just need some additional documents to apply.
