upon arriving at 8:15 (required time to be there) no one showed up until 8:50 to open the gate. Staff opened the doors at 9:10 am with no greeting no apologies or explanation, or even a hello from four associates. Even when spoken to no one spoke back. This was the case throughout the whole trip and even at the end of the trip where four other associates were once again very uncordial . Also had to ask for assistance out of the kayaks. One of my worst experiences at the river ever. However the river itself was great as always.

Absolutely the most relaxing kayaking ride. My biggest suggestion would be take your time you have 2 hours!! Enjoy the natural wild life noises and the beautiful surroundings. The crystal clear water where you can see schools of fish and even some jumping fish. If you are lucky than you might see a manatee. I have a tendency to over pack but i would just recommend water is a must!! Also!!! Before you go look up what you can bring!! They take great pride in keeping the water clean and clear for you and the wild life. They also have a mermaid show available featured at certain time so check that out if you can!! Take your family, kids, friends!! Everyoneeee!!

Awesome kayaking

Being busy is no excuse for bad customer service!!
We rented a house w kayaks but whatever you do, it will be a blast. Best paddling ever!
Yes we took our 2 yr old and we took our own life vest but they do supply them
Yes they have a baby swim area too thats only 1 foot deep and life guarded too. Your baby can wear a personal flotation device too.
Absolutely make reservations. I was there last month and we couldn't get in. He said make reservations at least a week out on weekends and 3 to 4 days on weekdays if you want any chance getting in.
We dropped in our own but need to make reservations early as spots fill up fast for private launches. At Roger's park they wont bring your private kayak back. They will bring you back up I left my daughter with our kayak and picked up the car then picked up the kayak and her.
They said they couldn't book a reservation for me to launch my own kayak claiming they have to limit the number of kayaks on the river but were happy to reserve 5 of theirs at a rate of $50 each for the rest of my party. They have monopolized the head waters.
Yes, you pay to get shuttled back BUT they don't shuttle your private kayak so one person in your group stays at the take out, keeping an eye on your kayaks and the other goes on the shuttle, gets to Mermaid place, brings vehicle back to Roger's park. Takes a while. I miss that outfit that was near the Christian camp. Paddling Adventures, maybe. New system sucks.
I've been kayaking on the springs 3 times and haven't seen one. But doesn't mean that there aren't any.
They have both
Yes they're open are you sure you have the right number
I live on one of the canals and have seen 4 also Linda Peterson park I have seen a ton.
Separate entrance for kayaking. Go to the back of the parking lot for kayaking, and there are signs for a small road off the main parking lot to a smaller lot.
Hi Nusrat! No, you do not pay anything extra to get into the the park. Just follow the directions right to the Weeki Watchee Kayaking parking lot. Have a great time!
Yes
We kayaker but I believe you can in the park
This season, the run is significantly shorter. No longer the 6 miles to the park. Drop spot is just under 3 miles, so time is about right. We enjoyed not having to do the long trek. Prices are lower, too
The $6 fee is the drop cost if you bring your own kayak. It's another $6 if you need a ride back. The cost to rent us much higher. Rental prices are listed on the site for single, tandem, etc.
They changed the pick up point. It's now only a few miles down river verse the 6 miles to Rogers Park so the trip takes less time and they can rent the boats out multiple times a day. Best to bring your own kayaks and pay the drop fee ($6 per single kayak) and leave a car at Rogers Park so you can paddle all the way down river. Note that it's a $5 fee to park your car there.
Do they go through your stuff if you launch your own
Unfortunately there are no pedal boats
No
Not sure may need to call and do that
you need at least 4 hrs to do it justice
Yes they charge and you may want to call for reservations because they're usually super busy especially on weekends and they won't allow you to use the boat ramp. They limit how many people are allowed on the river each day.
They have a boat launch right at the State Park
I weigh 350+ and have used the sit on kayaks. The sit in kayaks flip easily for me.
Single is $40.00 and a double is $50.00. Must make reservations. Follow the link for more information. https://weekiwachee.com/reserve/
Same parking area, different entrance.
Its a State Park in Florida iIt doesnt shut down for a Holiday except Xmas
I would go to rainbow river also. You will have so much more room to spread out! Weeki Wachee is narrow. Have fun its freezing cold, lol to me!! 72 degrees yr round if I'm not mistaken ☺
If you want to rent a kayak then I would highly recommend reservations because they can sell out quickly. The park operates on a first come first serve so if you want to make sure you've got a kayak then I would recommend reservations. If you want to go into the park and swim in springs then you don't need reservations however they also have limited space and fill up on a first come first served basis. Hope you enjoy your visit.
It depends on when you schedule your launch. Journeys need to be completed in 4 hours of your reservation time or a $50 per boat per hour late fee may be charged. Rentals and private boats launch from 8am-2:30pm and private boats only from 2:30-4pm
