My daughter and I adopted the cutest little cat. The process was a little more involved than I thought it would be, but all in all things went really smooth. The staff was the greatest. Very helpful and informative. From the time we got there and walked out with our cat was about an hour and a half to two hours. Great place to get your pet. Five stars!!

I applied to adopt Dolly on Friday June 10th in the afternoon, went and met her that evening and took her home at noon the very next day. The staff were all super friendly. I almost felt bad taking Dolly home as she was a staff favorite. The staff made this process very quick and easy and we can’t thank them enough for letting us add Dolly to our family. She loves treats, car rides, being brushed, and loves to play. We are so thankful for the amazing staff here!
Kathy Bailey
All of the staff made my experience wonderful. I would recommend everyone looking to add another fur baby to your family to go to the Maryland SPCA.
KelBel Rayne
My dog was spayed there a couple of weeks ago. The incision was very nice and she healed quickly. We did experience bleeding a couple weeks later and the SPCA got me back in right away to ensure there was nothing wrong with my dog. Thanks for taking such great care of my family member!
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
My dog had pancreatitis. She didn't eat for 7 days in a row. The vet gave her medicine that made her hungry. She is fine now.
Yes i want a puppy i really love dogs and i have one cat it would be amzing if my cat would have a brother or a sister:)
Try giving the dog a snack or play with the dog's ears and once he is relaxed put them in fast
Yes it is.
I myself do not for I have neuropathy in my legs and can't stand very long. Also my 12 yr old Yorkshire terrier Jasmine has congestive heart failure so I've been doing all that I can to help her get better. I also have her mother and brother but they are fine. There's a nonprofit organization called "Charm City Companions" that has helped my baby Jasmine get her blood work for I could not afford it and I so appreciate them. Thank you Ms.Annie and Mrs.Diane! God bless you both!! 💛💛💛
Yes you can I did the same thing with my dog
Are they free
I am looking for answers as well
If you have a mice issue, you need to call a pest company. A cat isn't going to hunt your mice & eat them. It will hunt things & half kill them & leave them as a "gift" for you in the middle of the living area! Especially a hairless cat which is a pure breed cat.
I would recommend looking up a dog rescue because they will find a good home for your dog and care for him without fear of euthanasia.
BARCS has really good prices. They are a animal rescue in Baltimore down by M&T Bank Stadium. If they can't help they will refer you to a place that they work with. Definitely worth a call.
I had to send an email
Hi Fee Fee! You can check out who's available at https://www.mdspca.org/humane-care/adopt. More pets become available throughout the week, so you can always check back later to see if there's any dogs available who match what you're looking for.
Hi Mary! Visit https://www.mdspca.org/humane-care/adopt/ to see all our currently available pets.
Hi Penina! We only have dogs and cats at the Maryland SPCA.
Where? From the SPCA? I am pretty sure that you could get a dog for less than $500 at the SPCA.
You should post it on Baltimore MD lost dog cat pets site on Facebook.
You need to call your vet to ask that question or a Yorkie rescue.
Yes
I'm only speaking for myself I'm not speaking for any company or rescue or Foster don't you have a friend that can watch your dog for 30 days? It just makes me sad when dogs have to go stay somewhere they've never been . I would offer my services if I didn't have three dogs already. My only suggestion is because I fostered for Ray of. Hope dog rescue, Marta it was the lady that I talk to and got to know. I don't know if she runs it alone but she is super super nice, get in touch with her and she has a lot of people that Foster for her or she can point you in the right direction. If you have trouble finding Marta's information message me through Facebook and I can help you out. I'm just not home right this second. On Facebook.. Tif Bri (Tiffney)
That is the best place where they have everything done for them shots and all good health.
Surrendering Your Pet to the Maryland SPCA: Steps and Requirements Surrendering a pet to admissions is by appointment ONLY. Requirements for surrender appointment: You must be at least 18 years of age in order to sign the surrender contract. You must be the legal owner of the pet. On the day of the appointment you must bring ID and cash or credit card for the surrender fee. There is a surrender fee of $30 per pet (over the age of 6 months) or per litter (under the age of 6 months), which is due at the time of surrender. This fee represents a small fraction of the total cost incurred by the shelter for the care of each pet. The Maryland SPCA does not receive government funds, nor do we receiving funding from national organizations. The work we do is paid for by public donations and the fees we charge for our services.
Did you call to have the kittens removed? Did anyone come? I can see the habitat for humanity lot from my back door and I'm actually going to the spca today to try and adopt a kitten or 2. I can pass the message on let me know, if u get this in time.
The SPCA will take him, but I believe there's a fee involved. Best of success to you and your fur family!
I have no papers they was lost in a move but i still have the info that they should need like address and name he was fixed under
The animals vary, they are always different & are adopted out/ brought in daily, so you can go check them out at the facility, or call for more details/ specifics.
U have to get him nurtured, i just recently had my 5 yr old make cat done in feb of this yr. I wish i could have done it earlier in his life.
Dont get a rabbit from north point i bought two and they went down hill quickly. My vet check them and they were bad breed. I would say Hardford animal they great care of thier rabbits and they recommand a rabbit with the tempermate that will suit you
Yes, you can volunteer here! However not everyone can because there is an age restriction. I think it was like 14 (it's definitely a teen age) because I couldn't bring my 6 year old to do it.
Take her to the aspca and someone there will help you with her eating with that problem, bring her to to the Maryland ASPCA and some one there will help u , 3300 falls rd .
Most times they do have puppies. Call and see if they have the breed you're looking for
Any branch of the MD ASPCA would be extremely helpful. Yes! GO FOR IT!
Over with sorry but they give dogs and other animals to all who can provide a safe loving and caring family. Good luck with your search the shelter is open everyday go take a look they have some really beautiful dogs there puppies too
I believe the microchip fee is $25. It's not a tracking device; it allows a lost pet to be located the same way a collar with your name and phone number on it would. A vet or shelter can scan your pet and see your personal information, then they contact you.
No, if you're interested in getting a dog you can ask that you see the dog and then you can pet them. You just can't go in to individual cages and pet the dogs.
No the mdspca only houses cats and dogs but barcs in Cherry Hill would accept your ferret. Good luck.
The spca should have all of your adoption information on file still. Try calling in the morning or emailing (they usually respond to email same day, and should be listed on their website). They should be able to email the information to you. Should be quick and easy!
Depends what county your live in
No birds just cats and dogs
Call the SPCA as soon as possible to get this kitten help!
Yes. I believe that they do.
They go by appointment.
Call 311 to direct you to animal control/ rodent trapping, they may be able to assist
Call them and ask can u have her back explain to them maybe why u had to give her up but u want her back.i think they would love that u want her back so they wont have to place her with someone else.
Call them and ask. That's your best bet. You would have to schedule an appointment.
You need to call Barcs. Just go to Google and look for barcs.com You might want to post to marketplace under pets. You just might have an easier time relocating them thru there! Barcs is always so over crowded. As far as I know ASPCA isn't accepting dogs right now. But you can also find their website on Google as well. They will ask you to email them with your email so they can contact you. I think they aren't answering the phone cuz they are so overwhelmed with animals right now. Hope this helps. GOOD LUCK!
Hey Stevie! Our available pets are constantly changing as some are adopted and new ones arrive. You can always see the current list at https://www.mdspca.org/humane-care/adopt/.
Thank you for your question! Every animal we adopt out is up to date on their vaccinations.
Check online, not open to public
Visit https://www.mdspca.org/humane-care/how-to-adopt/ to learn about our adoption process!
Pest control. Mdspca only deals with pets.
hello do you have a malse dog i want a small one thank you so much
You can try BARCS. or call MDSPCA to set an appointment to come in and see their dogs.
They do have low cost or free even BARCS has the same clinic and I believe it's free there just set up an appointment no walk-ins due to covid
Hi David! We work with dogs and cats exclusively.
By appointment. Great place.
The MD SPCA and many other shelters list pets on Petco Love Lost: https://lost.petcolove.org.
Not sure if there are any cost by type variations but my pets(CAT) adoption was $70. Application Interview Zoom Pay P/U Five steps over a week.
3300 Falls Rd. Baltimore , Maryland 21211
Not sure but you should give them a call
Yes
I'm sorry, but im not sure
I would recommend you call them directly.
Hi Don. We only accept dogs and cats, but there are rescues in MD who will take iguanas. For instance, you can try Medusa's Misfits (https://medusasmisfitrescue.com/). There's also Forgotten Friend Reptile Sanctuary (https://forgottenfriend.org/) in Pennsylvania.
Hi there! The minimum age to volunteer at the shelter is 17. We so appreciate your daughter wanting to volunteer, though! And we'd love for her to apply in a few years.
Hey buddy. You are better off sending an email. They respond and are helpful that way.
TO Antonia Perdue: SPCA & BARCs were not accepting animals due to COVID19 and the lack of volunteers for help. TO Cristiana Camardella: To neuter and spay feral cats should be a crime. They DO NOT LIVE VERY LONG in the wild when you do that to them!!! I finally had to wait. The kittens were about 13-14 weeks old when I TOOK THEM TO The Humane Society of Baltimore in Owings Mills; however, they did not accept the mommy cat because I didn't know how old she was. I kept her and I'm glad because I, only a week ago, had to have my male cat put to sleep. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I am not sure but you can contact the SPCA and they will give you the answer.
They had one husky 2 weeks ago for 150 visit the website and check the adopt tab for current listings. Hope you find your furever companion.
Check the website mdspca.org
My dog was $20.00
Depending on your zip code you can get it done for free
If you have low income especially during these times it's free other than that I'm not sure.
Did you adopted? If not I have one I can no longer take care of.
Yes you do but they have a website that you can go to and see what they have for that day
If the puppy is between 12 weeks or older, yes, they will be neutered or spayed. If not they do offer free or low-cost services for those who qualify.
Ok pick ups from you or from the shelter? For all that I know is that you have to call them to set up an appointment for drop off
Check the website. It is updated constantly
The most common reason cats pee outside of the litter box, especially if they had been using it before, is a urinary tract infection. The most common reason they get a UTI is inadequate hydration. Make sure you are keeping their water fresh and clean, and please have the vet check them out. It could be as simple as a course of antibiotics.
Yes it is called Cat Cuddling.
Any vet will take him and the pet er usually have a few though Take care
Call 311 asap
Call them make an appointment....then it's free!!!
What kind of dog? One may still be missing from a neighbor. A Chihuahua tan.
Not sure about that. Only saw Cats & Dogs for adoption. You may contact them for your inquiries.
I think so.... If not they will tell you where to go
Call them to arrange.
Yes they do
Sometimes it's free or reduced fee, call them.
@ Lawanda the SPCA is not a veterinarian, however if you call they can refer you to a low cost veterinarian for your cat. ❤
Take her to the vet
How long?
There is an organization called Alley Cats that helps trap feral cats. I don't know the number but I'm sure you can Google them. Good Luck, thanks for caring. 🤗
That is more of a concern for animal control. Not something the ASPCA would get involved with at first.
Go to the SPCA and sign up. There is a training program and then you are eligible to volunteer.
" I think " because you live in county the cost might be a higher coming into the city You might wanna google and or call around. and I sorry to hear . Good Luck
Go to spca or barcs they have plenty of dogs you can adopt.....
Yes they do, don't want them out in the streets running with or with any diseases.
I will take one
From my understanding nothing the want to have ppl to adopt pets my sister didn't pay anything for her cat🤷
what kind of dog .
Animal control.
Yes
Stop nuisance barking dog summary Figure out what is it that your are doing that rewards your nuisance barking dog. Stop doing it! Reward your hound for being quiet and calm. Teach your dog to sit and stay instead of bark to get attention This is what I tried and it worked. I started early with my pup.
U should take him to the doctor
When some one ASK their Questions . The response is not from some who works there there is no one answer . It's a SHELTER where the Unwanted, and Lost PETS go to find a new home . BARC is Not a Pet Store . Good Luck on the BARCS website
Probably best to go and look as inventory changes. Also, what may be small now could grow to be a 150 pound adult.
You might want to check with the vet.
No
Call 3300 Falls Rd 21211 or go to them, i had financial issues, i was surprised at what my cat & dog qualified for. I was a relief , took the weight off my shoulders. Thank you SPCA..🙏
U may be able to go to your doctor and they will give u an allergy shot and then u may be able to keep him
Make sure he is micro-chipped.
Why you get the poor thing anyway if you're just going to put them into the pound at that age?
Hey Alicia Pet Smart will let you hang a sign in there to help find a good home for her. Good luck
Agreed with Nancy comment.
No, sorry.. I do not Donna
They do not.
Animal control
You can call several animal hospitals and see if they offer care credit for your kitty. They may be able to set up a line of credit for you to pay back over time.. or they may be able to refer you to a better resource.
I would check the website for currently adoptable pets.
Thank you i will
Cooks in abingdon on tolgate rd they charge I believe 100 or a little more...
Yes
Barcs is a seperate organization from the spca.
It's called adoption, you can adopt a dog I'm not sure what the Process is .
Yes, there is a small adoption fee, to cover their cost with doctors and vaccines.
Try MD Horse rescue: https://mdhorserescue.net/
Yes you can but it's not guaranteed that they will be there quickly.
In my experience the process is usually completed in a week. You should consider the life changes of raising and training a puppy. Many are not house broken and cannot be left for long periods of time. Additionally you need to consider how the living situation will mesh with the puppy and the dog the puppy will grow into. Most puppies are ok in apartments with sufficient care but larger dogs may find the space encumbering. There are other factors as well. I suggest doing a little research online and at your local library to make sure you know what the best fit for you and the puppy will be.
I'm looking for a home for my 3 yr old pit nina too. It's hard to place her
Never seen any
Contact the office
I am also! Can anyone help us? I’m looking in Baltimore Maryland area.
Yes, they accept material donations including food, cat litter, etc
Probably going to call them they get animals randomly.
Yes. I think they're having a free adoption event tomorrow.
I know SPCA is very affordable, but call them to see if you qualify for the no cost services. You have to meet criteria.
Take him to the SPCA they will take him and find him a forever home. Thank you for think of his well being most people treat Pit Bulls like trash.
Pitt/mix. Just turned 3y had her since she was 8weeks old. I don't know about that shot. She is up to date on all her vaccine shots. She has become aggressive in the last 6-8m. Never to anyone outside but it will happen with kids around any food even if its not hers and any adult that is in the house with out us in the vicinity. I was cleaning out my refrigerator today and my 2y and my dog was in the refrigerator so i think my dog got territorial of the food that my daughter was touching and my dog lunnged at her. Now she has a small bruise on her face. This is not the first time.
They have collapsible cardboard ones.
I think that if you take her to the MD SPCA they will refer you to their training and behavior classes. They do an amazing job helping reactive dogs. Maybe you could go and see what they tell you. Hope this helps!
I'm not sure you would have to call them to find out. There is a vet on erdman ave that is pretty reasonable with pricing. I would also check there to.
I'm not exactly sure if they are a no-kill shelter but if the cats are used to humans then they should be adopted pretty quickly. If not they will be transferred to another shelter where they might have better luck.
Keep feeding them to gain their trust take pics and post them or call 311 for someone to come get them.
Yes I have been there just one time ,,, but yes they do accept donations for the spca.
Call a vet spca for adoption and get your pet fix
I would hate to give you the wrong information its best to call first.
Is $45 for the initial exam, and $25 for each vaccine the cats get. For example, rabies and distemper vaccines together, $50.
call baltimore humane society
Definitely good advice, time to visit the vet to be safe.
No they do not do grooming. Up to you to find groomer of your choice.
Please take the cat to the vet! Hopefully kitty is going to be okay!
Yes, if an animal is designated as being a "Lucky 7" Club animal. Inquire about this Club at the shelter.
18 but they may or may not require additional training depending on what you'd like to do.
Is the cat under 5 yrs? Last I heard it was 40.00 but they do other stuff. But I would call first make an appt
It's better to go in person. Staff may not be willing to give a detailed list of the animals available for adoption over the phone. The website has pictures, however of some of the animals there.
They will attempt to save every animal. My dog I adopted as example was transferred from another shelter.
Sometimes you need a home check before you can adopt, but sometimes you can do everything in one day. It's no really recommended though.
Puppies and small breed adults are $250 adoption fee (which includes spay/neuter surgery and age-appropriate shots) plus a $75 training class fee and a $25 identification package fee. So $350 total.
Before you got her she should have had some!
Yeah, that is ok, just call the center to bring in a puppy
Neutered is for a boy, spayed if it's a girl. Any place (vet/ clinic/ shelter) can give you an estimate if you call them, but some are cheaper than others. Washington Humane Society does it for real cheap, like $55, but I don't know if you have to live in a certain county.
I would continue to contact the finder, everyday, drive them crazy w/calls!! If you've found your baby, don't give up. That's what I'd do. Good luck, hope all works out for you!
I would like small dog. No more then 30pds,Does not matter boy or girl.Likes cats, children,Friendly with everyone. We are older people .Not to able to do alot of things.
If the dog is a new dog, it could be because of the new environment & they just need some time to adjust. But if it's a dog you've had, and they just started doing this, it could be a couple things, something has changed in their environment & they don't like it (people moving in or out/ you moved their bed or food & water dishes, stuff similar to this. (One of my cats will pee on the floor or bed if his litter box isn't clean enough). The other possibility is they could have an infection. Usually its a bladder or urinary tract infection, something that they're trying to tell you they have a problem! He or she may not even be able to make it outside (if its a really bad infection). They will need to go to the vet for this, but it would probably just require an exam with a quick test & prescription meds.
Hi if I'm understanding correctly you would like to have your small 5yr old dog fixed. You would have to contact SPCA directly.I know cats at 5 yrs is the max age, not sure on 5yr old dogs. They can let you know if you can get them fixed, price and anything else you need to know. That's the best info I can give you, that way you know for sure. Good luck .
Not sure who will pick up chickens, but if no owner can be found, I'd definitely see if you can call someone to round them up!
Not sure you can call spca for advice.
The SPCA, The Humane Society, preferably a no-kill shelter! Check your zip code first.
Maryland spca 3300 falls Rd will take your cat in give them a call.
There are so many shelters & even some vet offices have pets to adopt. Google "animal shelters near me" & then call to ask about breed specifications (if they have what you're looking for)!
I had a 2 yr old cat that I had to get declawed even though it was my best interest. My husband and I got him at 8wks. and we tried toys, scratching post (all kinds), plying with him, clipping his nails but NOTHING worked. He was literally destroying our house. He was climbing the door frames which we still have huge claw marks in our walls from plus scars on ourselves. We had to decide to either declaw or get rid of him and after having him over a year we didn’t wanna to. The vet said when it comes to declaw or get rid of the declaw is lesser of the two evils. We paid around $500 for the lazer way because the heal time is better and we paid an extra $100 for extra pain meds. He is fine now and a whole new cat but makes sure you try everything first because even though we did it it still makes me feel horrible inside.
Between $40-$100
Dog daycare's, kennels & boarding facilities are where you could to look, but they're expensive! So you should see if they have a long term rate! Also, sometimes people are willing to foster pets temporarily, so you could look into that. It would probably be much cheaper that way!
Also, since you have internet access, you can probably look online to see what some shelters have & the others you can call! If you're looking for a specific breed, don't just look in your county. Plenty of shelters in DC an PG Co. that you can adopt from too!
Kittens under 6 months are $100, cats are $55, they periodically have special events with waved adoption fees, and some adult cats (and dogs) are specially selected to have their fees waved.
Process not long at all , yes if you apply and approved you can take cat home same day.
Kitten's goes fast , yes you can adopt kittens the same day if you apply and approved and have some available if not they will help you with another location where kitten's are available.
Finsd them a home of course
What is there is always changing. So you just should go look. The other thing is barc's has a lot of cats sometimes kittens as well.
You can take the puppy to Maryland ASPCA or the Barc near Stockholm St
You can bring a dog to them, but they don't do pick ups.
What kind of dog do you think it is?Is it a male,or a female? How big is it?
You could try calling Baltimore county humane society but I'm not sure of the phone number, or you have to take the little kitty in at least for the night and call them in the morning.
Try putting some can catfood near the pallets, everyday, they will see you,and start coming once they get used to hearing the can opening.
Go visit. the dogs there are always changing but usually include 6 pit bulls. Cost varies. $25 fee. Special events waive some costs.
Do you have any more female kittens
It's kinda rare to find really young small puppies but they do tend to get young dogs that are around 1 years old and 6 to 7 months old
Try calling the Maryland SPCA or BARC
The only way I myself have ever trained a kitten is by Everytime they may have an accident put them in the litter box you can try putting them in the litter box within 15mins after they've been feed
The SPCA May be able to help you or refer you to someone who can help.
Yes you can, and there are lots of wonderful and great dogs to adopt 😻
Is it the same for a female cat?
I'd also call them and ask them. It's always better to talk to them yourself so you can get the information you need. :)
Yes as far as i kno
I'm sorry, but that's a decision you and your vet have to make. Without knowing his current pain level and quality of life we can't give you an answer.
Find out why the dog are crying and barking before you report. Maybe is the new place that they don't know it happened that's why their cry
SPCA wellness clinic on Falls Rd.
There is a volunteer application. Once you submit, they will contact you about an orientation
Yes they can in they aren't properly bonded to them, it's nothing you could have made better but you will have to take the kittens away from her and bottle fed them and take over the care unless you want them to all perish. If you can't handle the responsibility please take the kittens to a rescue that specializes in newborn kitten care and please, PLEASE take the mother in immediately to get spayed. They do it free at the SPCA for anyone that comes in FOR THEIR FREE CLINIC. If you tell them you need help with the cost they will, as long as you live in The city put you in for the free clinic. There's no papers or anything needed to qualify for the free spay and neuter clinic, you just have to call and make the appointment, as thet only do the free clinic on certain days of the month. We've gotten or cats sprayed and neutered free, along with some stats we found and several of our neighbors also got theirs done free as well, after our recommendation.
You have to check for any microchip, if there is a rabies tag or any other tags, ask the SPCA if they have any records To match the tags and hold the animal for at least 72 hours, you must post publicly the animal was found during that time period. If there is no owner found you can then get it spayed/neutered
How is your dog? He was the one that wouldn't eat anything right?
This isn't the ASPCA, this is the MDSPCA. They are unaffiliated. If your dog is ill and you are really worried he should be taken to a vet or a pet ER right away.
That's awesome, thanks for rescuing! The MDSPCA has a Facebook page where you could share those pictures
Well. My mom punished my cats when they pooped outside the litter box. We'd show it the poop I think she'd punish the cat and put it in the litter box for a good bit. It eventually learned the biz.
Call the center
Pet er they will work with you
There's no tracking device, but the MDSPCA's wellness clinic offers microchipping for $30
I would recommend calling your local shelter. They probably won't be able to pick up the cat, but may get you in touch with someone or some other organization that can. They may also refer you to your local animal control, who will come to get the animal. Depending on shelter capacity and how sick the cat is, they might have to put out down.... Still, they may be able to get it treatment by taking it to a shelter.
Depending on what zip code you live in it's free, other than that it's usually about $50
You need to call the SPCA on a weekday to set up a appointment they will let you know when they can see your kitty
The kittens go pretty quick here, make sure to arrive when they open
Washington humane society & even petco & petsmart offer low cost shot clinics. Just call to see when they are!
I am looking for one of three breeds 1st Yorkshire terrier. 2nd Pomeranian and 3rd chihuahua are their any attachments one of those sites
Yes
Take it to Baltimore county humane society on Baldwin they don't put them down.
