Definitely only worth going if you are going to swim. We didn’t realize this and didn’t bring a bathing suit so I’m not sure if it was worth it for us, probably great if you have little kids. The old Florida style was cool though. I bet the mermaid show is good, we didn’t catch it.
Lynne Ivory
Great place for a family day trip. You can bring your own cooler to pack a picnic lunch. The water is cold, 72 degrees year round. My kids enjoyed jumping off the dock. The mermaid show is a 1 time experience.
Lora Klacik
Fantastic old school fun! The mermaid show is amazing! Do get in line very early as seats fill up. Make sure you bring your swim suit to take a dip in the spring! Water remains a consistent temp year round but feels cool in the summer/warm in the winter months. Give yourself plenty of time to explore.

My family and I visited this park on February, it was not busy at all. My kids loved the mermaid show. The swimming area is small. The boat ride was nice we saw 2 manatees. Other than that there's not much else to do except kayaking, but that's a separate business.
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
Before the park opens. You will definitely be waiting in line even before the parks open.
Yes and I'm not sure.
There at park you must use theirs but down river you may enter using your own vessel
Weeki Wachee state park is open in December.
Yes both the park and the kayaking is credit card friendly.
You can for yourself if you have an individual pass. If you have a family pass you cannot take a car load in, like you can with other parks. I think their fee may be reduced but check before you show up with 5 kids.
Yup.
Yes and Buccaneer Bay. Less tham 15 bucks each and 5 and under is free admission You have tp get there early because they go by head count total. Free parking too.
Its Florida
Yes, but get there early so you dont get hit with the max copacity stuff!
I believe you have to purchase tickets in person same day. I know there is no online option.
What was on the website was accurate. I think it said 9-11am.
There we no people limitation when I was there last week. The river is delightful with no significant current
You can book to camp over night....the park with the amenities, (water slides, shows, etc, is right next to it and you would have to pay another ticket to get in...
LOTS of water moccasins. You will even pass a marked Breeding ground for them!! I've seen really BIG ones going down. YEARS ago even had one try to get INTO our boat!😳 Was VERY aggressive, mid summer time. But was rather small. Literally HAD to swat and bang the back of the boat to deter it.(low end flats boat, easy access in back) again 23 YEARS ago. Haven't seen any gators in recent years tho. Just be VERY aware of your surroundings and ALWAYS be ready. Usually they're more afraid of you!! Wintertime IS guaranteed Manatee sightings and encounters! Just keep your distance and don't disturb. HEFTY fines if you are caught or reported. And EVERYONE HAS cell phones!! Remember that YOU are IN Momma Natures domain!! Not the other way around!! And PLEASE BRING a receptacle for your garbage!!!!👍😁👌
We went on a Tuesday in June. It was still pretty busy. I think it is the time of year. The last time we went was in mid October on a Friday. It was so much slower.
You can only scuba dive with a special permit or with someone who has permission from the state. Not open to the public...
Weeki Wachi State Park is open year round, but Buccaneer Bay where you swim is only open seasonally.
there are hotels nearby. directly across the street even
$8 to get in the water park area Buccaneer Bay. $4 for children under 12 yrs old. There are 4 large waterslides. Snack bar and kiddie pool.
No not where they swim but close
Check here for details. 😉👍 https://weekiwachee.com/
IF the park is full you can not exit and re-entry said a sign at the entrace.
Yep! Its a great picnic spot! Thwy have tables but you can bring your own tents and the such. Just no booze
Yes everything is at the parents discretion.it's more like a beach then a park as far as those things go.but there is no place for a toddler per say is something you have to attend to.what others said about traffic is true it is fairly busy and open not like the river at adventure island if that's what you're thinking.it's a river not a man made attraction.but just check it out.the water is 70 degrees year round so a little chilly if not moving.but it's so clean and clear
You can just walk up
Adults 13, children 8 bucks.under 5 free.
You don't have to but its helpful, in case they are all taken by the time you get there
I'm not sure on sizes, but Chassahowitzka has camp grounds, you can call them, they are about 10 miles north of weeki wachee on the left, there are more north of Weeki wachee, hope this helps,
You can bring your own kayak.
I believe all state parks are free for Veterans.
It is a amusement park only service animals are allowed but you have to call and verify if it is not a service animal is not allowed
Asking if the animal is a Service Dog and what service they provide is legal. ESA dogs are not protected under the same laws as Service Dogs. Service Dogs are allowed. However, ESA dogs are not. Edit: A comment by Bill Mears seemed confused on what an ESA dog is. So as someone with an ESA dog I wanted to clarify. Unlike Service Dogs, ESA dogs are legit just random dogs with a doctor's note. They require absolutely NO prior training. Because of this, they are not protected under the same laws as Secive Dogs (whom go through rigorous training since pups by professionals). So it is left up to the individual business on whether they allow ESA dogs. Simply put, the ESA title is thrown around a lot so people can bring their pet everywhere with them. Plus many people with PTSD are not veterans.
$13 for adults, $8 for children ages 6 to 12. Ages 5 and under admitted free.
Only tubes rented from the concessionaire are permitted on the lazy river. Tubes and other personal flotation devices are not permitted inside the park. Only children’s safety flotation devices are permitted, i.e, life jackets, water-wings, etc. Small infant tubes are permitted in the kiddie pool only.
It's easy. Just ask for your hand to be stamped for re-entry.
Greetings, it is super cheap and fun for only $13 dollars you can enjoy a variety of attractions such as walking along the river for 30 minutes, floating in the waters of the river with a circular float, and a spectacular natural pool, space to camp place your awning or umbrella you can take it or rent it, you can take your food and drinks without restrictions it's wonderful
Summertime you have to get there early
I didn't see any grills, but you are allowed to bring your own food and drinks and eat at the picnic tables, there's also a place to get food, hamburgers, fries, etc ...
No matter the time of the show, you'll need to be in line about an hour before.
I kmow they do have the salads and other types of snacks. They have sandwiches. Not sure what types. I'm sure there are plenty of different snacks you could find that would make up for it with a salad.
They are open daily highly recommend worth the money and trip
Cost 13.00 Adults....8.00 for children 6 to 12...they have a boat trip you can take but We missed the last one the day we went there ...but the mermaid show was awesome 👌 mermaid shows 11 AM & 3 PM...after the 3pm show we missed the boat trip...you may want to double check the times before you go...it's worth going here
If you have kids 11:00 so they can do water slide and swim. The mermaids have two shows early afternoon. A must see. Park closes at 5. Nice park to walk around. Nature show is very knowledgeable
$13 for adults, $8 for children ages 6 to 12. Ages 5 and under admitted free.
None this week. Website isn't always updated. Drove 45 minutes for the show only to find it wasn't happening. Call before going.
Yes they are open. Just book online!! Easiest way to do it
There is an ordinance that says you aren't supposed to swim in these type waterways, but it isn't really enforced. That said, almost everyone is respectful of this special resource. If people start swimming too much, littering or overall not being cool, that will change.
No. You need to bring your own wheelchair.
Not too big & they have a sizer to out the cooler in to check size...
Yes for coolers and tent.
I'm not sure. You can call them and ask or check their website and see what it says.
Was just there. Mask only in the mermaid show.
Yes to both of your questions, but always call, and/or email to verify.
There actually is to the left of the park, big sign that said kayak rentals.
To catch the mermaid show you have to get there by 7:30 in the morning the first show is at 10 a.m. and it is $13 a person
Not at Weeki Watchee. But there are camp grounds around it. There is a hotel right across the street from it.
Yes u can... the only thing is u can only raft from the start entry to the end and u can't come back where u parked it car... the shuttle will not let u put ur equipment in the service van. Now, how are u going to get back or not unless u drive 2 cars and park the other one at the end of the entry 🤷🏽♀️
No, we went during the week
Opening Spring Break... 3/13 I think.
Beautiful all year long.
I don't think they are doing the show at this time. When I was there a couple weeks ago the parking lot was empty. The are doing the kayaking rentals still and if interested you can make a reservation for that. FYI you can't take any food with you so eat before hand. no plastic bags or water bottles. You can take like thermos though.
No the whole park is shut down only kayak launches with online reservations.
Yes but you will need to make a reservation for a personal launch. They are booked pretty far out. If you aren't able to get a launch with the state park, you can always launch from Rodgers Park and go up the river then back down.
The park is not open for the past far as the water park and other attractions but the river is open and you can go kayaking down the river... you have to book your reservation online sign a waiver when you get there but you can't go all the way down the Five Mile River you can only go a mile and a half and then you have to go back Upstream.... but it is fun if you get there early it's very beautiful what kind of strenuous on the way back up especially with all the other people
Currently there is no swimming in the park. If you go down river, outside of the park, you can swim.
There is an age limit. I think 12 and older. Check the Weeki Wachee State Park website
Adults are around $13 & $8 for kids. Up-to-date pricing is on the website 👍
The prices don't change, it's a state park. $13 for the entrance, and if you go on the website, it will tell you all of the attractions. It will also give you the hours that they are open. If I'm not mistaken, they're open every day of the year with the possible exception of Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I believe it's about 6 miles. Without stopping and kayaking at a leisurely pace we do it in about 2-3 hours
Guess we will all have to live with it.
I'm sure you can, we reserved a spot for 20 people when we went
Yes, I believe so. They usually do it a few times/day. You should call first to confirm.
11am, 130pm and 3pm. 365 days a year.
Roger's Park is the best to launch for free.. only gotta pay parking fees.
If you would like to fish go over by rogers park
I know Inner tubes in the park, you have to rent them there.
When we went it wasn't very long. Really pretty though. They have park tube rentals also. I don't think they allow outside flotation devices unless it's for a child.
They do not have any sort of campgrounds on their property, whether it be rugged or cabin or rv. But as Pamela said, there are a few not far away.
You can wear your swim suit under your clothes, clothes and shoes have to be worn for the boat ride and mermaid show. Lockers are 7$.
Reservations are not requires but I would suggest doing it. The upper launch gets backed up and you may have to wait awhile. But the staff is super helpful. Get out there and enjoy.
Is only 13 dollars for the admission for everything water park and the mermaid show
Not sure if they have an on-line sale for tickets however they do have a number of people they allow in the park so get there early. Before 10:00 they close the parking lot down
I didn't see one but they could've been. Go on their site to double check. The water is amazing, no matter your age, you will enjoy!
If you have a family state park pass, two people can get in free. You can also bypass the long ticket line.
Yes, there are TV lots all around. I suggest Camp-A-Wyle a few miles north of the park.
Directly from their website : DAILY ADMISSION TO WEEKI WACHEE SPRINGS STATE PARK Adult: $13.00 Child (Ages 6 – 12): $8.00 Children 5 and under: FREE The daily admission price above includes access to Buccaneer Bay Waterpark. The park accepts cash and all major credit/debit cards. Parking is free.
It is so beautiful there. You can rent a tube and float down the water way. Very pleasant day.
Coolers are allowed, but no grills, or grilling.
Not on the river but in the swim area.
Diana in weeki wache no but nearby there are other similar sites that you can enter with your dog
The park is currently under construction. You can still visit and swim in the spring though
I feel paying $20 is good to get in, but when you have to pay $7 per band just to do the mini lazy river is not worth it.. It should be $20 flat to get in period!!
Absolutely I believe you just pay the $10 launch fee. we rented them right through weeki wachee Springs for $40 per person
It's under construction right now , so I do believe it's $8 for adults but the mermaid show is not available. The parking is free
You can not bring ANYTHING disposable down the river kayaking. Picnic would have to be in the main spring area only.
You can find out on the website. 😉👍 https://weekiwachee.com/
Resort is open year round. Mermaid show is currently closed for renovations. It is scheduled to re-open June 15
Pretty affordable considering how much fun it is. The state park itself has a rental area in the rear corner of the main parking lot but there are other rental places in and around the area...only thing is that renting from the park is best because you get the entire length of the river to drift "down" as apposed to going "upstream" from the other locations. Call for the most updated pricing and rates
At this moment it's $8 per adult
Sorry no , go on county parks site to find campgrounds
No camping
No camping, I believe it's $13 for the day, swim area and 2 water slides. You can camp at Mary's fish camp for $20, about 3 miles west.
I would call the park to inquire about local camping, I never went camping on site as it has always been a day trip for us. Knowing the area, I'm sure there might be something nearby though.
Yes, down further from the springs you can canoe, kayak, swim, etc. The river can be fairly busy at times.
13$ adult & 8$children also if you like lazay river 7$ for each person
Yes, I am sorry to say it gets booked up very quickly, especially when cool, because of the manatees
The place is closed since December. It is not open
It's $50 for a two people Kayak
The mermaids are viewed from a theater that is half submerged beside the spring. It is handicap accessible no boat needed.
It depends on what time of year. Now is a great time since the waters are perfect for them now.
Yes nice!!!!!
It depends on where you are going. If you are going to Buccaneer Bay dogs are not permitted unless its a service dog. However if you are going pretty much any where else dogs are allowed as long as they are on a leash.
Yes they does
No cooking/grilling is permitted. Alcohol and glassware are NOT permitted anywhere in the park. There is a concessionaire who sells food inside the park.
The websites tell you all the dates. They are only preforming a few routines and not a show. The mermaids are closing in Nov. For remodel until spring.
No Idea. You have to contact them directly
No. Pets
it's about the same. Avoid holidays because that's when it's the busiest. Yes, they say open but call to confirm
It doesn't looks like they have one inside the park
All food cook, no cooking there
No. You can bring in coolers with premade stuff, drinks, snacks...etc. Just no fire. And I strongly suggest one with wheels...we learned the hard way.
No, you pay to get in but it is not expensive. I think maybe $12-$15 and it's worth it.
I stayed in an airbnb house for $65/night. It was incredible for the price! I do love to camp though, however, I cannot honestly give a good recommendation on where to stay.
If it is natural fresh water without any type of chemicals
Yes we left our stuff pretty much all day unattended and no one ever messed with it.
The mermaid show is in with the cost of Park entrance. Kayak rental is separate but in the same parking lot. And yes you can do it in one day
You can't wear mermaid tails there at the swimming section, which does have 4 slides. But they do have mermaid lessons where they teach you how to swim like a mermaid in a tail. And I do believe you swim with some of the mermaids there in the lessons.
Yes. As people leave, they'll let more in. I wouldn't trust the text though as it not in real time.
13 dollars for adults and 8 dollars for chldrens 6-12 years olds. the mermaids show is included with the price however they are not doing the show until next month. the cancelled the mermaid show from july 15 to july 31.
Ok thank you. Just curious why they would be charging for the last ride.
YES get there early.
Yes there are shallow parts for little kids. Check the web site or call for current prices. Make sure you get there 30 minutes to one hour before the park opens or you may not get in. It fills up quickly, especially on weekends.
Yes you can however the spring is beautiful you may want to check that out as well.
9 is a safe bet. You can signup for park alerts which will text you closing and opening due to capacity #travelformortals
No you cant bring beer or any other alcoholic beverage into the park. There is beer for sale in the park and they do have bar, but guests aren't permitted to bring in alcoholic drinks from outside the park. Idk how strictly this rule is enforced, but I do know that they are super. Strict abt glass containers of any kind since broken glass is a saftey risk and a liability .
$13 for everyone and kids under a certain age are free. We had two 2 yr olds and they were free. Maybe it's under 5, I just know ours were free. And you can bring in a cooler but have to keep it by the swimming area.
No
I believe they bus you to the starting point and end at the park near your car.
You will need both a fresh water and saltwater fishing license. This was said by the boat captain on the tour we took last week.
I believe you can bring up to 8 people or however many people you can fit in a car for no additional cost. I usually only bring my family of four and they all get in for free as well
On their website it says they don't, but they have food you can purchase there.
Of course. And they have many other attractions
They have them at all different times of the day. But there is more to see there than just the mermaid show
We were there last summer and there were two good size water slides. Not sure if they were planning to open more slides. It was a really good time. Very clean and really nice beach area.
13 dollars for adults
I do not think so
Shows are at 11 and 3, with an additional show at 1:30 on Saturday and Sunday. Park is open 365 days a year
A lot of things to consider, it is a nature preserve andl spring but it is also a huge cost to tax payers. It maybe true but I'm sure the state will put terms and conditions on this to ensure they preserve the natural habitate
Admission is $13 for adults and $8 for kids 6-12. Kids 5 and under are free
Yes I believe you can because I saw a regular dogs so a service dog should be no problem
